  • StoreGeneratedPattern T4 EntityFramework concern

    - by LoganWolfer
Hi everyone, Here's the situation : I use SQL Server 2008 R2, SQL Replication, Visual Studio 2010, EntityFramework 4, C# 4. The course-of-action from our DBA is to use a rowguid column for SQL Replication to work with our setup. These columns need to have a StoreGeneratedPattern property set to Computed on every one of these columns. The problem : Every time the T4 template regenerate our EDMX (ADO.NET Entity Data Model) file (for example, when we update it from our database), I need to go manually in the EDMX XML file to add this property to every one of them. It has to go from this : <Property Name="rowguid" Type="uniqueidentifier" Nullable="false" /> To this : <Property Name="rowguid" Type="uniqueidentifier" Nullable="false" StoreGeneratedPattern="Computed"/> The solution : I'm trying to find a way to customize an ADO.NET EntityObject Generator T4 file to generate a StoreGeneratedPattern="Computed" to every rowguid that I have. I'm fairly new to T4, I only did customization to AddView and AddController T4 templates for ASP.NET MVC 2, like List.tt for example. I've looked through the EF T4 file, and I can't seem to find through this monster where I could do that (and how). My best guess is somewhere in this part of the file, line 544 to 618 of the original ADO.NET EntityObject Generator T4 file : //////// //////// Write PrimitiveType Properties. //////// private void WritePrimitiveTypeProperty(EdmProperty primitiveProperty, CodeGenerationTools code) { MetadataTools ef = new MetadataTools(this); #> /// <summary> /// <#=SummaryComment(primitiveProperty)#> /// </summary><#=LongDescriptionCommentElement(primitiveProperty, 1)#> [EdmScalarPropertyAttribute(EntityKeyProperty=<#=code.CreateLiteral(ef.IsKey(primitiveProperty))#>, IsNullable=<#=code.CreateLiteral(ef.IsNullable(primitiveProperty))#>)] [DataMemberAttribute()] <#=code.SpaceAfter(NewModifier(primitiveProperty))#><#=Accessibility.ForProperty(primitiveProperty)#> <#=code.Escape(primitiveProperty.TypeUsage)#> <#=code.Escape(primitiveProperty)#> { <#=code.SpaceAfter(Accessibility.ForGetter(primitiveProperty))#>get { <#+ if (ef.ClrType(primitiveProperty.TypeUsage) == typeof(byte[])) { #> return StructuralObject.GetValidValue(<#=code.FieldName(primitiveProperty)#>); <#+ } else { #> return <#=code.FieldName(primitiveProperty)#>; <#+ } #> } <#=code.SpaceAfter(Accessibility.ForSetter((primitiveProperty)))#>set { <#+ if (ef.IsKey(primitiveProperty)) { if (ef.ClrType(primitiveProperty.TypeUsage) == typeof(byte[])) { #> if (!StructuralObject.BinaryEquals(<#=code.FieldName(primitiveProperty)#>, value)) <#+ } else { #> if (<#=code.FieldName(primitiveProperty)#> != value) <#+ } #> { <#+ PushIndent(CodeRegion.GetIndent(1)); } #> <#=ChangingMethodName(primitiveProperty)#>(value); ReportPropertyChanging("<#=primitiveProperty.Name#>"); <#=code.FieldName(primitiveProperty)#> = StructuralObject.SetValidValue(value<#=OptionalNullableParameterForSetValidValue(primitiveProperty, code)#>); ReportPropertyChanged("<#=primitiveProperty.Name#>"); <#=ChangedMethodName(primitiveProperty)#>(); <#+ if (ef.IsKey(primitiveProperty)) { PopIndent(); #> } <#+ } #> } } private <#=code.Escape(primitiveProperty.TypeUsage)#> <#=code.FieldName(primitiveProperty)#><#=code.StringBefore(" = ", code.CreateLiteral(primitiveProperty.DefaultValue))#>; partial void <#=ChangingMethodName(primitiveProperty)#>(<#=code.Escape(primitiveProperty.TypeUsage)#> value); partial void <#=ChangedMethodName(primitiveProperty)#>(); <#+ } Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. EDIT : Didn't find answer to this problem yet, if anyone have ideas to automate this, would really be appreciated.

  • Will I be able to activate my MSDN media Windows Home Server with an OEM license key?

    - by Peter Stuer
Can I go ahead and install a Windows Home Server using an MSDN iso ( en_windows_home_server_installation_disc_x86_dvd_x14-24276.iso ), and activate it later when my OEM box arrives (OEM sku as bougth from Amazon, http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-OEM-Home-Server-WIN32/dp/B001E5Q8CO/ ) , or will I have to wait and use the media that ships with the license? 1) I know that you can not do his with the trial, but the MSDN iso is listed as "retail". 2) I do not wish to use the MSDN activation key for this install.

We are migrating to a Virtual Private Server running on Ubuntu 8.04 LTS and with a Plesk configuration panel. We have some valid SSL certificates on the old server, which I would like to use on the new configuration. I have the CSR, private key, certificate and CA-certificate. I cannot find a way to change the CSR and private key in the Plesk configuration panel. Anyone know, if this is possible and how?

  • Mongodb: why is my mongo server using two PID's?

    - by Lucas
I started my mongo with the following command: [lucas@ecoinstance]~/node/nodetest2$ sudo mongod --dbpath /home/lucas/node/nodetest2/data 2014-06-07T08:46:30.507+0000 [initandlisten] MongoDB starting : pid=6409 port=27017 dbpat h=/home/lucas/node/nodetest2/data 64-bit host=ecoinstance 2014-06-07T08:46:30.508+0000 [initandlisten] db version v2.6.1 2014-06-07T08:46:30.508+0000 [initandlisten] git version: 4b95b086d2374bdcfcdf2249272fb55 2c9c726e8 2014-06-07T08:46:30.508+0000 [initandlisten] build info: Linux build14.nj1.10gen.cc 2.6.3 2-431.3.1.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Fri Jan 3 21:39:27 UTC 2014 x86_64 BOOST_LIB_VERSION=1_49 2014-06-07T08:46:30.509+0000 [initandlisten] allocator: tcmalloc 2014-06-07T08:46:30.509+0000 [initandlisten] options: { storage: { dbPath: "/home/lucas/n ode/nodetest2/data" } } 2014-06-07T08:46:30.520+0000 [initandlisten] journal dir=/home/lucas/node/nodetest2/data/ journal 2014-06-07T08:46:30.520+0000 [initandlisten] recover : no journal files present, no recov ery needed 2014-06-07T08:46:30.527+0000 [initandlisten] waiting for connections on port 27017 It appears to be working, as I can execute mongo and access the server. However, here are the process running mongo: [lucas@ecoinstance]~/node/testSite$ ps aux | grep mongo root 6540 0.0 0.2 33424 1664 pts/3 S+ 08:52 0:00 sudo mongod --dbpath /ho me/lucas/node/nodetest2/data root 6541 0.6 8.6 522140 52512 pts/3 Sl+ 08:52 0:00 mongod --dbpath /home/lu cas/node/nodetest2/data lucas 6554 0.0 0.1 7836 876 pts/4 S+ 08:52 0:00 grep mongo As you can see, there are two PID's for mongo. Before I ran sudo mongod --dbpath /home/lucas/node/nodetest2/data, there were none (besides the grep of course). How did my command spawn two PID's, and should I be concerned? Any suggestions or tips would be great. Additional Info In addition, I may have other issues that might suggest a cause. I tried running mongo with --fork --logpath /home/lucas..., but it did not work. More information below: [lucas@ecoinstance]~/node/nodetest2$ sudo mongod --dbpath /home/lucas/node/nodetest2/data --fork --logpath /home/lucas/node/nodetest2/data/ about to fork child process, waiting until server is ready for connections. forked process: 6578 ERROR: child process failed, exited with error number 1 [lucas@ecoinstance]~/node/nodetest2$ ls -l data/ total 163852 drwxr-xr-x 2 mongodb nogroup 4096 Jun 7 08:54 journal -rw------- 1 mongodb nogroup 67108864 Jun 7 08:52 local.0 -rw------- 1 mongodb nogroup 16777216 Jun 7 08:52 local.ns -rwxr-xr-x 1 mongodb nogroup 0 Jun 7 08:54 mongod.lock -rw------- 1 mongodb nogroup 67108864 Jun 7 02:08 nodetest1.0 -rw------- 1 mongodb nogroup 16777216 Jun 7 02:08 nodetest1.ns Also, my db path folder is not the original location. It was originally created under the default /var/lib/mongodb/ and moved to my local data folder. This was done after shutting down the server via /etc/init.d/mongod stop. I have a Debian Wheezy server, if it matters.

  • ESX3.5 Cluster & MD3000i -- Both servers see iSCSI Targets, Only one server can use partition.

    - by GruffTech
Alright. First and foremost, Warning. This is a bigger-then-normal question. I like to be thorough and try to eliminate all possible "easymode" answers, as well as give everyone a feel of what i've tried. I've included several images of our setup and the problem it is having.. TLDR Version: So I've followed the guides located here: ESX Deployment Guide V1 this is the guide Dell has sent me to setup two ESX3.5 servers mounting a Dell MD3000i. It doesn't work. Both servers can't use the same storage partition on the MD3000. Both servers see it, but only one server can actually use it. (that server being whatever server created the partition on the target.) Both ESX servers are members of the Host Group. Full Version I have 2 ESX3.5 Servers (10.0.7.102, also called EPI2, and 10.0.7.103, also called EPI3.) connected to a iSCSI SAN Device (Dell MD3000i). Both ESX servers can "scan" the SAN and see the LUNS. Part One: MD3000i Storage On the MD3000i, Both servers are in my host group. I have two partitions, VM1 and VM2, both 1.6TB (vmware doesn't like anything past 2tb.) And you can even see that the ESX servers are targetting the MD3000 just fine. Part Two: The ESX Servers Figure 1. So as you can see above, Both ESX Servers (10.0.7.102 and 10.0.7.103) are able to see and scan the MD3000i SAN. Figure 2. Above is the storage both servers see. I created the storage partition on EPI2 (102). I then Extended the partition to include the second LUN for a grand total of 3.27 TB of storage. Removing partition on 102, Formatted partition on 103 instead. Same result, except flipped. 103 can use storage, 102 can not. Starting Over. Removing all iSCSI Targets on both ESX Boxes, disabling iSCSI, turning off the firewall for iSCSI, rebooting ESX. Then on the MD3000, Removed the Host Group, Removed the Host-to-Virtual Mappings, Restarted the SAN. Followed the Documentation again, same result. Both servers see the storage, but only one server can use it. Disabling and Re-enabling VMware DRS and HA. Same result. Flat-out turning off VMware DRS and HA, and doing the "start over" step to see if maybe that borked it. Same Result. I'm kinda loosing my mind here, Everything i read online says "just partition it and if the ESX boxes can see the targets, it just works".... well crap. Any ideas, any other things to try? Can anyone atleast point me in the right direction? I'm really tired of working from 1am til 4am (our maintenance hours)

  • How do I optimize TCP stack for HTTP server?

    - by jcisio
I have a HTTP server that serves only two kinds of page: about 10 KB and about 16 KB (both compressed, other files are from CDN). As the latency is quite high (ping takes more than 300 ms), I want to optimize the TCP stack so that client receives the whole page ASAP. Thus, I have a double question: Which parameter do I have to change (which value of TCP window)? How to change in (a Debian box, and FYI, there is a Varnish before the HTTP server).

  • How do I prevent mail from my Exchange server from being blocked?

    - by Mike C
Recently one of our client machines was infected with a virus and I believe was spamming addresses in the user's contact list. Since then our server has been appearing on blacklists and it has been causing our e-mail to be blocked and returned by many clients. The virus has since been cleared, what can I do to get our server off these blacklists so that we will have more reliable e-mail service? Will I have to change my IP address? Thanks, Mike

  • SSH tunnel RDP through gateway server outside the network?

    - by Mike
I need to access a PC via RDP that is behind a firewall. There's no way to connect to it directly that I know of. What I'd like to do is SSH from that remote PC to my home Ubuntu server, then connect to the remote PC using my home PC with the Ubuntu server as a gateway. I've tried SSH from remote PC to Ubuntu server, tunneling remote port 3389 to 127.0.0.1:3389, then SSH from home PC to Ubuntu server, tunneling local port 13389 to remote port 3389. At that point I try to RDP into: 127.0.0.1:13389, 127.0.0.2:13389, :3389 - no dice. I suppose I could simply set up an SSH server on my home PC and SSH from remote PC into home PC and then establish the tunnel that way, but I'd rather not go through the hassle of installing and configuring an ssh server on my home PC. I know LogMeIn would work here, but I don't want to go that route for various reasons. Any ideas? Thanks!

  • Can I use a Smart Array P410 controller on a HP Proliant DL 180 G5 server?

    - by Massimo
This link says the HP Proliant DL 180 G5 server only supports Smart Array E200, E500, P400 and P800 controllers. Can I use a Smart Array P410 instead? Currently the server has only the default internal controller, I need an additional one for better performance and to support additional drives (the default controller only supports 4, with a Smart Array controller all 8 bays can be used). The disks are SATA ones.

  • ProFTPd server on Ubuntu getting access denied message when successfully authenticated?

    - by exxoid
I have a Ubuntu box with a ProFTPD 1.3.4a Server, when I try to log in via my FTP Client I cannot do anything as it does not allow me to list directories; I have tried logging in as root and as a regular user and tried accessing different paths within the FTP Server. The error I get in my FTP Client is: Status: Retrieving directory listing... • Hardware recommendation for Solaris 10 + ZFS data warehouse server.

    - by Justin
The server would run a 2 drive (mirrored root pool for OS and master database segment). And would run individual zpools for each remaining drive (loss of data is acceptable). Initial requirements would be: 2x 7540 xeons (6 core) 32gig memory. 12 drives. A 4U/2U server (6/8 core and 2/4 sockets cpu support) with internal disks / or external JBOD. Capacity to house a disk per CPU core is important.

Is there a way to recover files from this system via something like a windows live CD, or of course fix this issue?

  • How does one set up API on a locally hosted server...

    - by L33tCh
I am setting up a personal Wordpress site and want to be able to post to it from other sites... the common request being for my "API Key". When creating a site on Wordpress.com for example, and API key is sent to you by mail, but surely it should be relatively simple, (if not just an address on the local site to point to,) to have one for a personal server (ubuntu server)?
