I am running my junit tests via ant and they are running substantially slower than via the IDE. My ant call is:
<junit fork="yes" forkmode="once" printsummary="off">
<classpath refid="test.classpath"/>
<formatter type="brief" usefile="false"/>
<batchtest todir="${test.results.dir}/xml">
<formatter type="xml"/>
<fileset dir="src" includes="**/*Test.java" />
</batchtest>
</junit>
The same test that runs in near instantaneously in my IDE (0.067s) takes 4.632s when run through Ant. In the past, I've been able to speed up test problems like this by using the junit fork parameter but this doesn't seem to be helping in this case. What properties or parameters can I look at to speed up these tests?
More info:
I am using the reported time from the IDE vs. the time that the junit task outputs. This is not the sum total time reported at the end of the ant run.
So, bizarrely, this problem has resolved itself. What could have caused this problem? The system runs on a local disk so that is not the problem.
Is there an ability to import fixed width file to oracle?
Preferably through .net(c#) for catching errors during import and showing them to user.
P.S. File has 5 types of rows. For example 1 row has 5 columns, 2-nd has 50 columns.
So let's say I have a form which is being sent somewhere strange (and by strange we mean, NOT the default route:
<% form_for @form_object, :url => {:controller => 'application',
:action => 'form_action_thing'} do |f| %>
<%= f.text_field :email %>
<%= submit_tag 'Login' %>
<% end %>
Now let's say that we have the method that accepts it.
def form_action_thing
User.find(????? :email ?????)
end
My questions are thus:
How does can I make the object @form_object available to the receiving method (in this case, form_action_tag)?
I've tried params[:form_object], and I've scoured this site and the API, which I have to post below because SO doesn't believe I'm not a spammer (I'm a new member), as well as Googled as many permutations of this idea as I could think of. Nothing. Sorry if I missed something, i'm really trying.
How do I address the object, once I've made it accessible to the method? Not params[:form_object], I'm guessing.
The situation:
I have an activity "A" that is a delegator activity, in simple words, it's only purpose is to call activity "B" (via startActivityForResult()) depending on data it receives. Activity "B" has launchMode set to "singleTask", so it always runs in a single task.
When activity "A" gets started from another task (for example as a share from gallery) it immediately returns ACTION_CANCELLED for activity "B", finishes, and task of activity "B" comes to front (which is an expected behavior).
So, what happens, is that we jump from our Gallery app task, to my activity "B" task. Everything is fine until user presses back. Since we are already in a different task, the back button doesn't lead us back to gallery. It navigates in the stack of activity "B" task.
The question: is there any way to navigate from one task, to previously shown task (navigate from activity "B" to gallery)? Or maybe there is a way to take currently running activity "B" and move it to another task?
In R, what is the most efficient way to count the length between 2 values. for example, i have vector x , which are all randomly choose from 1 to 100, how can i find out the length between the first"2" and first"40",
x=(1,2,3,4,5,6,7,40,1,2,3,21,4,1,23,4,43,23,4,12,3,43,5,36,3,45,12,31,3,4,23,41,23,5,53,45,3,7,6,36)
for this vector, the answer should be 5 and 6
I'm trying to LEFT JOIN two tables, to get a list of all rows from TABLE_1 and ONE related row from TABLE_2. I have tried LEFT JOIN and GROUP BY c_id, however I wan't the related row from TABLE_2 to be sorted by isHeadOffice DESC.
Here are some sample tables
TABLE 1
c_id Name
----------------
1 USA
2 Canada
3 England
4 France
5 Spain
TABLE2
o_id c_id Office isHeadOffice
------------------------------------------------
1 1 New York 1
2 1 Washington 0
3 1 Boston 0
4 2 Toronto 0
5 3 London 0
6 3 Manchester 1
7 4 Paris 1
8 4 Lyon 0
So what I am trying to get from this would be something like:
RESULTS
c_id Name Office
----------------------------
1 USA New York
2 Canada Toronto
3 England Manchester
4 France Paris
5 Spain NULL
I'm using PHP & MySQL. Any ideas?
Hey all,
I'm practicing Jquery and I've written this simple Jquery statement:
var someText = $("table tr td").text();
Should this not return all text of td elements found within tr's that are found within tables? How do I fix this? Currently when I run this, it says that table tr td is null, but I have a table on the page I'm testing on.
Thanks!
This is just a hypothetical scenario to illustrate my question. Suppose that there are two threads and one TVar shared between them. In one thread there is an atomically block that reads the TVar and takes 10s to complete. In another thread is an atomically block that modifies the TVar every second. Will the first atomically block ever complete? Surely it will just keep going back to the beginning, because the log is in an inconsistent state?
I've just noticed when loading my client's page (http://habbopfm.com/) in Firefox, that it renders what looks like a rectangle is pushed down a few pixels.
It's difficult to describe, but imagine you took a screenshot of the page, opened it in Photoshop, selected a rectangle and moved it down a bit.
IE and Safari don't appear to do this - I'm assuming this is a browser glitch, not a problem with the code. Can anyone confirm what causes this?
Below is a screenshot taken of the issue:
http://habbopfm.com/problem.png
One other thing is that it only does this once the page has finished loading. While it is loading, it looks fine.
I'd like to get the latest NHibernate build or build it by my own. The build available at SourceForge is dated by Nov 2009, although I see there was a lot of activity later, especially related to LINQ development.
So what is the best option? I can:
Get the latest source code and try to build it. Are there any instructions for this?
Get one of latest builds shared by someone else. Are there any people maintaining such builds?
Please note, that I'm not interested in 8-month old builds - I need the latest code for tests (LINQ, performance).
I know there is a similar question, but it looks like top answers there are outdated.
Our Zend_Log is initialized by only adding the following lines to application.ini
resources.log.stream.writerName = "Stream"
resources.log.stream.writerParams.mode = "a"
So Zend_Application_Resource_Log will create the instance for us.
We are already able to access this instance in controllers via the following:
public function getLog()
{
$bootstrap = $this->getInvokeArg('bootstrap');
//if (is_null($bootstrap)) return false;
if (!$bootstrap->hasPluginResource('Log')) {
return false;
}
$log = $bootstrap->getResource('Log');
return $log;
}
So far, so good.
Now we want to use the same log instance in model classes, where we can not access the bootstrap.
Our first idea was to register the very same Log instance in Zend_Registry to be able to use Zend_Registry::get('Zend_Log') everywhere we want:
in our Bootstrap class:
protected function _initLog() {
if (!$this->hasPluginResource('Log')) {
throw new Zend_Exception('Log not enabled');
}
$log = $this->getResource('Log');
assert( $log != null);
Zend_Registry::set('Zend_Log', $log);
}
Unfortunately this assertion fails == $log IS NULL --- but why??
It is clear that we could just initialize the Zend_Log manually during bootstrapping without using the automatism of Zend_Application_Resource_Log, so this kind of answers will not be accepted.
I'm pretty proficient with PHP, outside of OOP - which I am just now starting to jump in to.
I've been watching videos and reading tutorials, but they are all still pretty confusing...
If I have
FILE 1 (class.time.php)
class Time {
function GetTime(){
$time = date('H:i:s');
printf($time);
}
}
and then in a nother php page I've got
FILE 2 (page.php)
I can do
include('class.time.php');
and then anywhere in this page I can then do
$time = new Time; //Calling the class and setting the class to a variable
$time->GetTime(); //This is BASICALLY saying (run the 'GetTime' function in the 'Time Class'
My main question is, is the comment above (This is BASICALLY saying.....) correct? or is there a better way to think of it?
Ok, I have a Preferences activity set with an XML layout.
Here I have a couple of Preferences that open some dialogs. On these preferences I want to have an arrow on the right of them like in the screenshot. How I do this, is something related to the theme ?
First screenshot is how I want to look, second is what I have now.

I'd like to be able to generate a compiled expression to set a property, given the lambda expression that provides the "get" method for a property.
Here's what I'm looking for:
public Action<int> CreateSetter<T>(Expression<Func<T, int>> getter)
{
// returns a compiled action using the details of the getter expression tree, or null
// if the write property is not defined.
}
I'm still trying to understand the various types of Expression classes, so if you can point me in the right direction that would be great.
Simple problem. I'm working on a single SQL Server database which is shared between several offices. Each office has their own schema inside this database, thus dividing the database in logical pieces. (Plus one schema that is shared between multiple offices.) The database is stored on a dedicated server and we use a single database to keep the backup/restore procedure easier.
The problem, however, is that the Accounting Office might be modifying a lot of data and then the Secretary Office makes a mistake which requires restoration of a backup. Unfortunately, restoring the backup means that Accounting will lose their recently added data.
So, the alternative solution is by restoring the backup into a new database, remove the data from the old accounting schema and move the data for accounting only from the backup top the original database. This is the current solution and it's time-consuming and error-prone.
So, is there a way to make backups of a single schema, possibly through code? And then to restore just that schema, probably through code too?
I have a very big table with a lot of rows, every row has stats for every user for certain days. And obviously I don't have any stats for future. So to update the stats I use
UPDATE Stats SET Visits=@val WHERE ... a lot of conditions ... AND Date=@Today
But what if the row doesn't exist? I'd have to use
INSERT INTO Stats (...) VALUES (Visits=@val, ..., Date=@Today)
How can I check if the row exists or not? Is there any way different from doing the COUNT(*)?
If I fill the table with empty cells, it'd take hundreds of thousands of rows taking megabytes and storing no data.
I am using the Kohana 3 framework, and am using the native session driver.
For some reason, occasionally the sessions fail to write to their file.
Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: open(/tmp/sess_*****, O_RDWR) failed: Permission denied (13) in /home/site/public_html/system/classes/kohana/session/native.php on line 27
I am pretty sure Kohana has its own in built error handler, but it is not triggered with this error (i.e. it shows up like a normal PHP error, not the Kohana error).
Anyone that has ever used Kohana will notice this seems to have bypassed Kohana's error handling (perhaps set with set_error_handler()).
Is there anyway to stop this error from appearing without switching from the native session (i.e. file based) driver?
Should I just give good practice the boot and append an @ error suppressor to session_start() in the core code of Kohana? Should I relax the error_reporting()?
Thanks
Hi all, would the following Jquery selector get all of the 4th td elements of all the tables on the current page, and return their text as an array?:
var isbn = $.makeArray($("table tr td:nth-child(4)").text());
I'm writing some C code to parse IEEE 802.11 frames, but I'm stuck trying to create a new variable whose length depends on the size of the frame itself.
Here's the code I currently have:
int frame_body_len = pkt_hdr->len - radio_hdr->len - wifi_hdr_len - 4;
u_char *frame_body = (u_char *) (packet + radio_hdr->len + wifi_hdr_len);
Basically, the frame consists of a header, a body, and a checksum at the end. I can calculate the length of the frame body by taking the length of the packet and subtracting the length of the two headers that appear before it (radio_hdr->len and wifi_hdr_len respectively), plus 4 bytes at the end for the checksum.
However, how can I create the frame_body variable without the trailing checksum? Right now, I'm initializing it with the contents of the packet starting at the position after the two headers, but is there some way to start at that position and end 4 bytes before the end of packet? packet is a pointer to a u_char, if it helps.
I'm a new C programmer, so any and all advice about my code you can give me would be much appreciated. Thanks!
I'm displaying a popup menu using TrackPopupMenu and would like to know when it is dismissed via clicking outside of it. I've looked through all the menu functions but didn't find anything useful in this regard. Spy++ told me that no window message is sent in this case.
So, is there an easy way to do it without installing a mouse hook? Thanks!
Note below how ã changes to a. NOTE2: Before you blame this on CMD.EXE and Windows pipe weirdness, see Experiment 2 below which gets a similar problem using File::Find.
The particular problem I'm trying to fix involves working with image files stored on a local drive, and manipulating the file names which may contain foreign characters. The two experiments shown below are intermediate debugging steps.
The ã character is common in latin languages. e.g. http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cão

To get around my particular problem, I tried using File::Find instead of piped input. The issue actually gets worse:
Debugging update:
I tried some of the tricks listed at http://perldoc.perl.org/perlunicode.html,
e.g. use utf8, use feature 'unicode_strings', etc, to no avail.

To clearly separate the Controller and View layers, I do not longer want to pass full objects to my views. Instead I want to pass only arrays and objects that contain the data but do not have any methods. Otherwise a view script would be able to delete Doctrine records or traverse in the object tree to data that was not intended for the view.
