  • Trouble using 'eval' to define a toplevel function when called from within an object.

    - by mschaef
    I've written (in JavaScript) an interactive read-eval-print-loop that is encapsulated within an object. However, I recently noticed that toplevel function definitions specified to the interpreter do not appear to be 'remembered' by the interpreter. After some diagnostic work, I've reduced the core problem to this: var evaler = { eval: function (str) { return eval(str); }, }; eval("function t1() { return 1; }"); // GOOD evaler.eval("function t2() { return 2; }"); // FAIL After running this script, I have a definition for t1, and no defintion for t2. The act of calling eval from within evaler is sufficiently different from the toplevel call that the global definition does not get recorded. What does happen is that the call to evaler.eval returns a function object, so I'm presuming that t2 is being defined and stored in some other set of bindings that I don't have access to. (It's not defined as a member in evaler.) Is there any easy fix for this? I've tried all sorts of fixes, and haven't stumbled upon one that works. (Most of what I've done has centered around putting the call to eval in an anonymous function, and altering the way that's called, chainging __parent__, etc.) Any thoughts on how to fix this?

  • AJAX/JSONP Question. Access id denied using IE while requesting corss domain.

    - by Sisir
    Ok, Here we go. I have already searched the Stack for the answer i have found some useful info but i want to clear up some more things. I also search the net for the answer but no real help. I have worked with some api (yelp, ouside.in). In yelp i use to inject the script to head with the url request to the api with a callback funcion. I worked fine in all browsers. But while using outside.in api when i call the url the callback in not working. In yelp they have a url field can be used like that callback=callbackfuncion so the callback will automatically called. But in outside.in there is not such field available. Is there are any standard command for callback function which will work regardless of any server/api? I also tried a standard ajax request using jQuery $.ajax() function. It worked for my local pc for both IE and other browser but did not working in IE showing the error: access denied, other borwser seems ok. Firebug in my FF also don't notice any errors. Outside.in has an javascript example but it is too hard to me to understand github.com/outsidein/api-examples/tree/master/javascript/browser/ site i am working: http://citystir.com yelp: yelp.com outside.in: outside.in Techniqual info: i am using: wampserver in local, wordpress for hosting, Godaddy, apache for remote with linux. Codes: Using Jquery $.ajax url is like: "http://hyperlocal-api.outside.in/v1.1/states/Illinois/cities/chicago/stories?dev_key="+key+"&sig="+signeture+"&limit=3 function makeOutsideRequest(url){ $.ajax({ url: url, dataType: 'json', type: 'GET', success: function (data, status, xhr) { if (data == null) { alert("An error occurred connecting to " + url + ". Please ensure that the server is running and configured to allow cross-origin requests."); }else{ printHomeNews(data); } }, error: function (xhr, status, error) { alert("An error occurred - check the server log for a stack trace."); } }); } Thanks!

  • Is this a safe PHP mail function?

    - by Eystein
    I've finally got this PHP email script working (didn't work on localhost…), but my concern is that it's not safe. So - is this safe for spamming and any other security pitfalls I'm not aware of? <?php $email = '[email protected]'; $subject = 'Notify about stuff'; $notify = $_REQUEST['email']; if (!preg_match("/\w+([-+.]\w+)*@\w+([-.]\w+)*\.\w+([-.]\w+)*/", $notify)) { echo "<h4>Your email address doesn't validate, please check that you typed it correct.</h4>"; echo "<a href='javascript:history.back(1);'>Back</a>"; } elseif(mail($email, $subject, $notify)) { echo "<h4>Thank you, you will be notified.</h4>"; } else { echo "<h4>Sorry, your email didn't get registered.</h4>"; } ?> Unrelated: is there a PHP function I can use instead of javascript:history.back(1) ?

  • How to run stored procedures and ad-hoc scripts asynchronously with "loosely" connected SQL Server 2

    - by sanga
    Is there a way to initiate a script against an instance of SQL server when it is not connected then have it run on the instance the next time it connects? This needs to happen without any intervention from me. Background situation if you are interested: We have about 120 machines each with their own instance of SQL Server 2000. Most of them are laptops. We have merge replication set up with each one. From time to time, there is a need to delete "rogue" guids from some tables in some instances that overwrite legitimate records on the main publisher as well as perform administrative tasks via stored procedure or adhoc sql statements. The problem is there is no telling when each machine is going to be connected to the network. Some folks turn their machines completely off at the end of the day. Others disconnect their machines and take them on business trips, home for the weekend etc. Did I mention that about 35 of these machines are in utility trucks and "attempt" to sync over a wireless connection. Thanks in advance for any assistance or suggestions. Sanga

  • Facebook Page Statuses API

    - by Simon R
    I've got a curl function in php which posts a status update to our facebook page. However, when I post the update it makes the status appear from me personally rather than me the group. Does anyone know how you can post as administrator of the group. The script is as follows; $xPost['access_token'] = "[key]" $xPost['message'] = "Posting a message test."; $query = http_build_query($xPost); $ch = curl_init('https://graph.facebook.com/broadland/feed'); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_VERBOSE, 1); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HEADER, 1); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_TIMEOUT, 120); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POST, 1); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, $query); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYHOST, 1); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER, 0); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_CAINFO, NULL); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_CAPATH, NULL); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION, 0); $result = curl_exec($ch);

  • Create a function to a function that runs a for loop?

    - by user637364
    Hi, I have made some code that creates a red border around an image when the user click on to highlite thats the choesen one. But I want to erase previous or all border with a white border around all images before a new click is made on another image. My question is how do I activate a call to a function when a click is made and how would a function look in jQuery? I just whant to use the .css to change the border in perhaps a loop and change the id of the images? Can I mix common javascript with jQuery, or should it only be pure jQuery code in a script? This is a simplified part of the code, it contains "minibild_1" to "minibild_5" $(document).ready(function(){ $("#minibild_1").click(function(){ $("#minibild_1").css({"border":"2px solid #D00C33"}); $("#storbild").attr("src","../bilder/bilder_stora/{$row1-bild_1}.jpg"); }); $("#minibild_2").click(function(){ $("#minibild_2").css({"border":"2px solid #D00C33"}); $("#storbild").attr("src","../bilder/bilder_stora/{$row1-bild_2}.jpg"); }); });

  • PHP contact form, am I doing it wrong?

    - by decimal
    I'm learning PHP and I'm trying to write a simple email script. I have a function (checkEmpty) to check if all the forms are filled in and if the email adress is valid (isEmailValid). I'm not sure how to return true checkEmpty funciton. Here's my code: When the submit button is clicked: if (isset($_POST['submit'])) { //INSERT FORM VALUES INTO AN ARRAY $field = array ('name' => $_POST['name'], 'email' => $_POST['email'], 'message' => $_POST['message']); //CONVERT ARRAY KEYS TO VARIABLE NAMES extract ($field); checkEmpty($name, $email, $message); function checkEmpty($name, $email, $message) { global $name_error; global $mail_error; global $message_error; //CHECK IF NAME FIELD IS EMPTY if (isset($name) === true && empty($name) === true) { $name_error = "<span class='error_text'>* Please enter your name</span>"; } //CHECK IF EMAIL IS EMPTY if (isset($email) === true && empty($email) === true) { $mail_error = "<span class='error_text'>* Please enter your email address</span>"; //AND IF IT ISN'T EMPTY CHECK IF IT IS A VALID ONE } elseif (!isValidEmail($email)) { $mail_error = "<span class='error_text'> * Please enter a valid email</span>"; } //CHECK IF MESSAGE IS EMPTY if (isset($message) === true && empty($message) === true) { $message_error = "<span class='error_text'>* Please enter your message</span>"; } } // This function tests whether the email address is valid function isValidEmail($email){ $pattern = "^[_a-z0-9-]+(\.[_a-z0-9-]+)*@[a-z0-9-]+(\.[a-z0-9-]+)*(\.[a-z]{2,3})$"; if (eregi($pattern, $email)) { return true; } else { return false; } } I know I shouldn't be using globals in the function, I don't know an alternative. The error messages are display beside each form element.

  • Android Google cloud messaging - not certain what parameters I should put when creating the push notification

    - by Genadinik
    I am working on a php script to send the notification to the CGM server and I am working from this example: public function send_notification($registatoin_ids, $message) { // include config include_once './config.php'; // Set POST variables $url = 'https://android.googleapis.com/gcm/send'; $fields = array( 'registration_ids' => $registatoin_ids, 'data' => $message, ); $headers = array( 'Authorization: key=' . Thank you!

  • What is the strangest programming language you have used?

    - by Anders Sandvig
    For me I think it has to be the scripting language of an old proprietary telephony platform I used in the early 2000s. The language itself was not so bad, but the fact that it was meant to be edited with a drag-and-drop GUI, which did not expose all the functionality I needed, was quite frustrating. I also remember having to manually implement many common functions, such as calculating the length of a string. Whenever I wanted to use "custom" or "advanced" functions, I had to edit the script files in a text editor, but as soon as I opened the files in the GUI again they were reformatted and restructured, which usually resulted in broken code. And, of course, this was an interpreted language, so I would not know it was broken until I actually ran it—oh, and did I mention that it did not run the same in the simulator as in the live environment? So, what is the strangest programming language or environment you have used, and why did you use it? Note that I'm interested in languages and environments that you have actually used for "real-world" situations, so Whitespace, Brainf***k and friends are not valid—unless you have used them for something "real", of course.

  • JQuery cycle plugin + PNG overlay + Image alt text as title conflict

    - by Dave
    I am trying to achive the following: Create an image gallery using the JQuery Cycle plugin that shows images with titles (taken from the alt text) Each image has a PNG absolutley posiioned over the top to achieve rounded corners effect Here's my gallery HTML: <div id="slideshow" class="pics"> <div class="photo-container" > <img src="/path/to/image" alt="alt text as title" /> <img class="mask" src="path/to/mask" /> </div> </div><!-- /slideshow --> <div id="title"></div> Here's my Jquery gallery function: $(function() { $('#slideshow').after('<div id="nav" class="nav"><span style="margin: 0 5px 0 30px;">next image</span>').cycle({ fx: 'fade', timeout: 0, cleartypeNoBg: true, pager: '#nav', next: '#slideshow', before: onBefore }); function onBefore() { $('#title').html(this.alt); } $('#nav a').after('<span>&gt;</span>') }); </script> Here is my CSS that handles the mask: .photo-container { position: relative; display: block; overflow:hidden; border: none; } img.mask { position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; overflow:hidden; border: none; } The above does not output the alt text into the "title" div. When I remove the mask, it works: <div id="slideshow" class="pics"> <img src="/path/to/image" alt="alt text as title" /> </div><!-- /slideshow --> <div id="title"></div> Any ideas why the additonal div / image is casuing the title to not display? Thank you

  • Making a Delete and Reply button in Jquery

    - by Branko Ostojic
    this is my second post on the website. Of all other sites i tried, this one gave the most accurate and useful information! I'm in a bit of a trouble with buttons, i have a task to make an inbox and to add a "reply" and "delete" button into every instance of the message. I was indeed wandering if there is a better way to do that than forcing the HTML code into the script, because every message is dynamically generated. Any help and/or suggestions would be very appreciated!(The objects are called from a JSON file). $(document).ready(function(){ $.getJSON('public/js/data.json', function(json){ $.each(json.data, function(i, data){ var output = ''; if(data.from.id != '234' && data.from.name != 'Alan Ford'){ $("#inbox").append( output += '<div class="post">'+ '<div class="h1">'+data.from.name+' - '+data.subject+'</div>'+ //this gives the name of the person who sent the message and the subject '<div class="content">'+data.message_formatted+'</div>'+ //The content of the message //buttons should be squeezed left of the date //this gives the date of the message sent '<div class="time">'+data.date_sent_formatted.formatted+'</div>'+ '</div>' ); }}); }); }); var date_sent=convertToDateTime(); function delete_message(id){ console.log('Delete message with id: '+id); } function reply_message(id, sender){ console.log('Message id: '+id); console.log('Reply to: '+sender); } The complete code in the JSFiddle . Just copy/pasted!

  • JQuery-AJAX: No further request after timeout and delay in form post

    - by Nogga
    I got a form containing multiple checkboxes. This form shall be sent to the server to receive appropriate results from a server side script. This is already working. What I would achieve now: 1) Implementing a timeout: This is already working, but as soon as a timeout occurs, a new request is not working anymore. 2) Implementing a delay in requesting results: A delay shall be implemented so that not every checkbox is resulting in a POST request. This is what I have right now: function update_listing() { // remove postings from table $('.tbl tbody').children('tr').remove(); // get the results through AJAX var request = $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "http://localhost/hr/index.php/listing/ajax_csv", data: $("#listing_form").serialize(), timeout: 5000, success: function(data) { $(".tbl tbody").append(data); }, error: function(objAJAXRequest, strError) { $(".tbl tbody").append("<tr><td>failed " + strError + "</td></tr>"); } }); return true; } Results are for now passed as HTML table rows - I will transform them to CSV/JSON in the next step. Thanks so much for your advice.

  • Clarification/explanation of RegisterClientScriptInclude method

    - by mpminnich
    I've been looking on the Internet for a fairly clear explanation of the different methods of registering javascript in an asp.net application. I think I have a basic understating of the difference between registerStartupScript and registerClientScriptBlock (the main difference being where in the form the script is inserted). I'm not sure I understand what the RegisterClientScriptInclude method does or when it is used. From what I can gather, it is used to register an external .js file. Does this then make any and all javascript functions in that file available to the aspx page it was registered on? For example, if it was registered in the onLoad event of a master page, would all pages using that master page be able to use the javascript functions in the .js file? What problems would arise when trying to use document.getElementById in this case, if any? Also, when it is necessary/advantageous to use multiple .js files and register them separately? I appreciate any help you can give. If you know of any really good resources I can use to get a thorough understanding of this concept, I'd appreciate it!

  • Undefined Variable? But I defined it...

    - by Rob
    Well before anyone claims that theres a duplicate question... (I've noticed that people who can't answer the question tend to run and look for a duplicate, and then report it.) Here is the duplicate you are looking for: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2481382/php-claims-my-defined-variable-is-undefined However, this isn't quite a duplicate. It gives me a solution, but I'm not really looking for this particular solution. Here is my problem: Notice: Undefined variable: custom Now here is my code: $headers = apache_request_headers(); // Request the visitor's headers. $customheader = "Header: 7ddb6ffab28bb675215a7d6e31cfc759"; //This is what the header should be. foreach ($headers as $header => $value) { $custom .= "$header: $value"; } Clearly, $custom is defined. According to the other question, it's a global and should be marked as one. But how is it a global? And how can I make it a (non-global)? The script works fine, it still displays what its supposed to and acts correctly, but when I turn on error messages, it simply outputs that notice as well. I suppose its not currently necessary to fix it, but I'd like to anyway, as well as know why its doing this.

  • How to retrieve content via .load() or $.get() with this line

    - by Sin
    hello :) I posted a question a day or two ago about how to retrieve php via ajax method in this modal I was using. I kinda found out the right way to go about it, but there's still something I'm not doing right (obviously lol) Here's the section thats giving me the issues: jQuery('div that holds content').fadeIn(200).css({ 'width': Number( popWidth ) }); $('').load('/something/somewhere/this #content'); So, im using safari, and a local server (mamp), when I check activity in my browser, it shows that it is loading the content with every click, AND the pop up pops up, but no content. When I simply retrieve content via hidden div, ofcourse, i get it. This is what I'm trying to avoid. right now I have that div in my footer stashed as hidden. I'd rather just make a call when its needed, instead of loading it every single time a page is accessed. you can go here to see the whole script i posted in my last question: How to use ajax to show php in a modal pop up Anyone have any idea? I read that .load() has the ability to grab specific content from a request, but im not sure the major difference between that and $.get() I've tried both, and I get the same results. Im using wordpress, and wordpress's ajax requests run smooth as ever, so I know its not a local problem, i'ts my coding lol Ok....Im done typing :)

  • How can I automate new system provisioning with scripts under Mac OS X 10.6?

    - by deeviate
    I've been working on this for days but simply cannot find the correct references to make it work. The idea is to have a script that will baseline newly purchased Macs that comes into the company with basic stuffs like set autologin to off, create a new admin user (for remote admins to access for support, set password to unlock screensaver and etc) . Sample list for baseline that admins have to do on each new machine: Click the Login Options button Set Automatic Login: OFF Check: Show the Restart, Sleep, and Shutdown buttons Uncheck: Show input menu in login window Uncheck: Show password hints Uncheck: Use voice over in the login window Check: Show fast user switching menu as Short Name (note: this is only part of a long list to do on each machine) I've managed to find some references to make some parts work. Like autologin can be unset with: defaults write /Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences com.apple.userspref.DisableAutoLogin -bool TRUE and I've kinda found ways to muscle in a new user creation (including prompts) with AppleScript and shell commands. But generally its tough finding ways to do somewhat simple things like turn on password to get out of screensaver or to allow fast user switching. References are either too limited or just no where to be seen (e.g. I can unset autologin via cli but the very next setting on the system preference "show restart, sleep and shutdown buttons" is somewhere else and I can't find any command line to make it set) Does anyone have any ideas on a list, document, reference or anything of where each setting on the system resides so that I can be pointed to make it work? or maybe sample scripts for the above example... My thanks for reading thus far—a huge thank you for whoever that has any info on the above.

  • How to insert form data into MySQL database table

But the Gender input from the select drop down menu doesn't. Can some one tell me how to fix this, thanks.

  • perl system command return code

    I have a script that has been running for over a year and now it is failing: It is creating a command file: open ( FTPFILE, ">get_list"); print FTPFILE "dir *.txt"\n"; print FTPFILE "quit\n"; close FTPFILE; Then I run the system command: $command = "ftp ".$Server." < get_list | grep \"\^-\" >new_list"; $code = system($command); The logic the checks: if ($code == 0) { do stuff } else { log error } It is logging an error. When I print the $code variable, I am getting 256. I used this command to parse the $? variable: $exit_value = $? >> 8; $signal_num = $? & 127; $dumped_core = $? & 128; print "Exit: $exit_value Sig: $signal_num Core: $dumped_core\n"; Results: Exit: 1 Sig: 0 Core: 0 Thanks for any help/insight.

  • Strange thread behavior in Perl

    - by Zaid
    Tom Christiansen's example code (à la perlthrtut) is a recursive, threaded implementation of finding and printing all prime numbers between 3 and 1000. Below is a mildly adapted version of the script #!/usr/bin/perl # adapted from prime-pthread, courtesy of Tom Christiansen use strict; use warnings; use threads; use Thread::Queue; sub check_prime { my ($upstream,$cur_prime) = @_; my $child; my $downstream = Thread::Queue->new; while (my $num = $upstream->dequeue) { next unless ($num % $cur_prime); if ($child) { $downstream->enqueue($num); } else { $child = threads->create(\&check_prime, $downstream, $num); if ($child) { print "This is thread ",$child->tid,". Found prime: $num\n"; } else { warn "Sorry. Ran out of threads.\n"; last; } } } if ($child) { $downstream->enqueue(undef); $child->join; } } my $stream = Thread::Queue->new(3..shift,undef); check_prime($stream,2); When run on my machine (under ActiveState & Win32), the code was capable of spawning only 118 threads (last prime number found: 653) before terminating with a 'Sorry. Ran out of threads' warning. In trying to figure out why I was limited to the number of threads I could create, I replaced the use threads; line with use threads (stack_size => 1);. The resultant code happily dealt with churning out 2000+ threads. Can anyone explain this behavior?

  • Fetch multiple rows from SQL in PHP foreach item in array

    - by TrySpace
    I try to request an array of IDs, to return each row with that ID, and push each into an Array $finalArray But only the first result from the Query will output, and at the second foreach, it skips the while loop. I have this working in another script, so I don't understand where it's going wrong. The $arrayItems is an array containing: "home, info" $finalArray = array(); foreach ($arrayItems as $UID_get) { $Query = "SELECT * FROM items WHERE (uid = '" . cleanQuery($UID_get) . "' ) ORDER BY uid"; if($Result = $mysqli->query($Query)) { print_r($UID_get); echo "<BR><-><BR>"; while ($Row = $Result->fetch_assoc()) { array_push($finalArray , $Row); print_r($finalArray ); echo "<BR><><BR>"; } } else { echo '{ "returned" : "FAIL" }'; //. mysqli_connect_errno() . ' ' . mysqli_connect_error() . "<BR>"; } } (the cleanQuery is to escape and stripslashes) What I'm trying to get is an array of multiple rows (after i json_encoded it, like: {"finalArray" : { "home": {"id":"1","created":"0000-00-00 00:00:00","css":"{ \"background-color\" : \"red\" }"} }, { "info": {"id":"2","created":"0000-00-00 00:00:00","css":"{ \"background-color\" : \"blue\" }"} } } But that's after I get both, or more results from the db. the print_r($UID_get); does print info, but then nothing.. So, why am I not getting the second row from info? I am essentially re-querying foreach $arrayItem right?

  • [RPM Building] How to take user input during install

    - by Sam
    So when I create a debian package, I am able to write a post-installation shell script that runs just fine. Currently mine is configured to do echo "Please enter your MySQL Database user (default root)" read MYSQL_USER echo "Please enter the MySQL Database user password (default root)" read -s MYSQL_PASS DBEXIST=0 CMD="create database lportal;use lportal;" (mysql -u$MYSQL_USER -p$MYSQL_PASS -e "$CMD") || ((DBEXIST++)) if [ $DBEXIST -ne 0 ]; then echo "Setup finished, but MySQL already has an lportal table. This could be from a previous installation of Liferay. If you want a fresh installation of this bundle, please remove the lportal table and reinstall this package." fi This works fine for Ubuntu. However, I can't seem to get user input to work with RPMs for Fedora. Is there a good way to take user input? From what I understand, RPMs were designed not to allow interactive installs. However I can't see a better way to do this.. Is there possibly a way to automatically find local MySQL settings without asking the user? Otherwise, what's the best way to ask for user input?

  • Unable to parse variable length string separated by delimiter

    - by Technext
    Hi, I have a problem with parsing a string, which consists only of directory path. For ex. My input string is Abc\Program Files\sample\ My output should be Abc//Program Files//sample The script should work for input path of any length i.e., it can contain any no. of subdirectories. (For ex., abc\temp\sample\folder\joe) I have looked for help in many links but to no avail. Looks like FOR command extracts only one whole line or a string (when we use ‘token’ keyword in FOR syntax) but my problem is that I am not aware of the input path length and hence, the no. of tokens. My idea was to use \ as a delimiter and then extract each word before and after it (), and put the words to an output file along with // till we reach the end of the string. I tried implementing the following but it did not work: @echo off FOR /F "delims=\" %%x in (orig.txt) do ( IF NOT %%x == "" echo.%%x//output.txt ) The file orig.txt contains only one line i.e, Abc\Program Files\sample\ The output that I get contains only: Abc// The above output contains blank spaces as well after ‘Abc//’ My desired output should be: Abc//program Files//sample// Can anyone please help me with this? • Heapsort not working in Python for list of strings using heapq module

    - by VSN
    I was reading the python 2.7 documentation when I came across the heapq module. I was interested in the heapify() and the heappop() methods. So, I decided to write a simple heapsort program for integers: from heapq import heapify, heappop user_input = raw_input("Enter numbers to be sorted: ") data = map (int, user_input.split(",")) new_data = [] for i in range(len(data)): heapify(data) new_data.append(heappop(data)) print new_data This worked like a charm. To make it more interesting, I thought I would take away the integer conversion and leave it as a string. Logically, it should make no difference and the code should work as it did for integers: from heapq import heapify, heappop user_input = raw_input("Enter numbers to be sorted: ") data = user_input.split(",") new_data = [] for i in range(len(data)): heapify(data) print data new_data.append(heappop(data)) print new_data Note: I added a print statement in the for loop to see the heapified list. Here's the output when I ran the script: `$ python heapsort.py Enter numbers to be sorted: 4, 3, 1, 9, 6, 2 [' 1', ' 3', ' 2', ' 9', ' 6', '4'] [' 2', ' 3', '4', ' 9', ' 6'] [' 3', ' 6', '4', ' 9'] [' 6', ' 9', '4'] [' 9', '4'] ['4'] [' 1', ' 2', ' 3', ' 6', ' 9', '4']` The reasoning I applied was that since the strings are being compared, the tree should be the same if they were numbers. As is evident, the heapify didn't work correctly after the third iteration. Could someone help me figure out if I am missing something here? I'm running Python 2.4.5 on RedHat 3.4.6-9. Thanks, VSN

  • Is it possible to send back a json array along with seperate variables

    - by Scarface
    Hey guys I have an ajax jquery function that receives data from a php script. I want to return an array with all the online users which is retrieved from a mysql statement, and I want to send other separate variables I need for other purposes along with it. If anyone has any ideas, I would greatly appreciate it. NOTE: the example below is to illustrate what I want to do, I understand that json-encoding the array with other variables is dysfunctional. JQUERY $.ajax({ type: "POST", data: "parameters", url: "retrieval.php", dataType: 'json', success: function(json) { $('#div1').html(json.array); $('#div2').html(json.variable1); $('#div3').html(json.variable2); } }) PHP $qryuserscount1="SELECT * FROM active_users"; $userscount1=mysql_query($qryuserscount1); while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($userscount1)) { $onlineuser= $row['username']; $id=$row['id']; $data[]=$onlineuser.$id; //for example there are 3 users, should send 3 entries back } $data['variable1']='something'; $data['variable2']='something else'; $out = json_encode($data); print $out;
