• Python `.pth` files and using relative paths

  I have a lot of development versions of packages installed with virtualenv under the default /src directory in the environment. Normally, I decided to do the development of my project under the /src directory afterwards. To add my directory to the Python path, I decided to eschew from using any absolute paths, since I'm going to have to move the project around with my friends. It's a Django application, so I was happy with putting environment.pth under the root that contained the path to my project and a wsgi in the same directory would call the sites module to parse environment.pth. All good. I was also looking to move the .pth file into site-packages, but I'm having trouble with relative paths that move up the directory tree. For: /env /lib /site-pacakges /src /myproject So, the .pth entry in site-packages to myproject should look like ../../src/myproject, but this doesn't seem to be working for me on Windows.

• Calculating Divergent Paths on Subtending Rings

  I need to calculate two paths from A to B in the following graph, with the constraint that the paths can't share any edges: hmm, okay, can't post images, here's a link. All edges have positive weights; for this example I think we can assume that they're equal. My naive approach is to use Djikstra's algorithm to calculate the first path, shown in the second graph in the above image. Then I remove the edges from the graph and try to calculate the second path, which fails. Is there a variation of Djikstra, Bellman-Ford (or anything else) that will calculate the paths shown in the third diagram above? (Without special knowledge and removal of the subtending link, is what I mean)

• How to import a module from a directory?

  On my system I have two versions of Python (to call them I type python and python2 in the command line). When I use the first version of Python, I cannot import sklearn module but I can do it in the second version of Python. I would like to use the first version of python (because other modules are available there) and, at the same time, I would like to be able to import sklearn from this version of Python. My solution was to use: import sys sys.path.append('location_of_the_sklearn_module') To find the location of the sklearn module I started a python session (using the second version of python, in which sklearn works). The I type: import sklearn sklearn.__file__ As a result I got: /home/name/my_name/numpy/local/lib/python2.7/site-packages/sklearn/__init__.pyc In the session of the first version of Python I tried: import sys sys.path.append('/home/name/my_name/numpy/local/lib/python2.7/site-packages/sklearn') import sklearn Unfortunately it did not work. As a result I got: ImportError: No module named sklearn Does anybody know what I am doing wrong and if it is possible to reach the goal in the way I try?

• Optimizing Dijkstra for dense graph?

  Is there another way to calculate the shortest path for a near complete graph other than Dijkstra? I have about 8,000 nodes and about 18 million edges. I've gone through the thread "a to b on map" and decided to use Dijkstra. I wrote my script in Perl using the Boost::Graph library. But the result isn't what I expected. It took about 10+ minutes to calculate one shortest path using the call $graph-dijkstra_shortest_path($start_node,$end_node); I understand there are a lot of edges and it may be the reason behind the slow running time. Am I dead in the water? Is there any other way to speed this up?

• Aggregate path counts using HierarchyID

  Business problem - understand process fallout using analytics data. Here is what we have done so far: Build a dictionary table with every possible process step Find each process "start" Find the last step for each start Join dictionary table to last step to find path to final step In the final report output we end up with a list of paths for each start to each final step: User Fallout Step HierarchyID.ToString() A 1/1/1 B 1/1/1/1/1 C 1/1/1/1 D 1/1/1 E 1/1 What this means is that five users (A-E) started the process. Assume only User B finished, the other four did not. Since this is a simple example (without branching) we want the output to look as follows: Step Unique Users 1 5 2 5 3 4 4 2 5 1 The easiest solution I could think of is to take each hierarchyID.ToString(), parse that out into a set of subpaths, JOIN back to the dictionary table, and output using GROUP BY. Given the volume of data, I'd like to use the built-in HierarchyID functions, e.g. IsAncestorOf. Any ideas or thoughts how I could write this? Maybe a recursive CTE?

• Powershell - Using variables in -Include filter

  (again!) My final question for the night. I have a function which uses the Get-ChildItem to work out the newest file within a folder. The reason being I need to find the latest incremental backup in a folder and script an EXE to mount it. However, within this same folder there are multiple backup chains for all different servers: i.e. SERVER1_C_VOL_b001_i015.spi SERVER2_D_VOL_b001_i189.spi SERVER1_C_VOL_b002_i091.spi SERVER1_E_VOL_b002_i891.spi (this is the newest file created) I want only to look at SERVER1, look at only the C_VOL and look at only b001 - nothing else. I have all these seperate components: the drive letter, the Server Name, the b00X number stored in array. How then can I go and use the Get-ChildItem with the -Include filter to only look at: .spi SERVER1 C_VOL b001 Given I have all of these separate components in an array taken from a text file: Get-Content .\PostBackupCheck-TextFile.txt | Select-Object -First $i { $a = $_ -split ' ' ; $locationArray += "$($a[0]):\$($a[1])\$($a[2])" ; $imageArray += "$($a[2])_$($a[3])_VOL_b00$($a[4])_i$($a[5]).spi" } I then go onto try and filter then and then get stuck: $latestIncremental = Get-ChildItem -Path ${shadowProtectDataLocation}\*.* -Include *.spi | Sort-Object LastAccessTime -Descending | Select-Object -First 1 I have the .spi filtered, but how can I also just include the C (for volume), the number for the b00x and the server name. • Get license file from a folder in C# project

  I have a license file that I need to access at runtime in order to create pdf-files. After I have created the in memory pdf, I need to call a method on that pdf to set the license, like this: pdf.SetLicense("pathToLicenseFileHere"); The license file is located in the same project as the.cs-file that creates the pdf, but is in a separate folder. I cannot get this simple thing to behave correctly, which makes me a bit sad, since it really shouldn't be that hard. :( I try to set the path like this: string path = @"\Resources\File.lic"; But it just isn't working out for me.

  Using the following to load images base on two ids one is the and bookid and the out is the client. My folder structures is this. root path = flipbooks subfolders under flipbooks are books and clients in subfolder books I have and .net page title tablet. the tablet code behind checks the bookid of client and render a the tablet page with images in a flipbook fashion. because we have over 15000 records and flipbooks already created and stored in the database. I don't move the client folder under the books subfolders. I need the code below to get to the client subfolder in the query string and help to change this would be helpful. The result now is http://www.somewebsite.com/books/client/images/someimage1.jpg[^] I need the results to be http://www.somewebsite.com/client/images/someimage1.jpg[^]. I tried moving the tablet.aspx file to the root flipbooks and it works but i have provide a user name and password each time. This need to be access by the public and my root is protected. Don't want to have to change permission. • PHP: Mapped Network Drives

  Hello all, I have mapped a network drive to a computer in my home network. Now I am trying to access it via PHP - I did this quick test: echo opendir('Z:\\'); This gives me: Warning: opendir(Z:\) [function.opendir]: failed to open dir: No error in C:\wamp\www\webs\tester-function.php on line 3 What have I done wrong here? I don't want my users typing in the UNC path so is there a way to get the UNC path for them and maybe that will work when I try to access it? This is possible in Microsoft languages but I am not sure how to get PHP to do this - maybe using a cmd.exe command? Please note, the mapped drive does exist as I can see it and I can access it. It also does not appear to be a permissions problem as I am assuming it would of complained about this IF it could access that drive...right? Thanks all for any help

  Our product includes several DLLs built from open source into files with default names as delivered by the open source developers. We're careful to install the files in our own directories and we carefully manage the search path (only for our processes) to keep the loader happy. Another developer -- a towering intellect -- decided it would be easier to install their own build of some of the same open source into C:\WINDOWS under the same default DLL filenames. Consequently, when we launch a process which depends on these open source DLLs, the system searches C:\WINDOWS before our directories and finds the DLLs installed by the other developer. And they are, of course, incompatible. Ideas which have occurred to me so far: rename all our DLLs to avoid the default names, which would only make it less likely we would encounter collisions load all our DLLs by full path so the loader captures their names into RAM and doesn't search anywhere else the next time they are requested For various reasons, neither of these options is palatable at the moment. What else can we do to defend ourselves against the towering intellects of the world?

• Why can't my c++ program find the necessary .dll file?

  I am trying to use OpenCV (a computer vision library), which appearently uses a few .dll files, located in C:\OpenCV\bin (which has been added to the system PATH variable). However, if I try to run a simple test program, it gives a system error: "The program can't start because highgui.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." If I copy the highgui.dll file into the system32 folder, it works, but I don't want to have to put all the necessary .dll files in the system32 folder. Does anyone know why the .dll file can't be found or what I should do to fix it? (I already checked all paths in the PATH variable for validity.)

• ExpressionEngine Segment Variables Lost on Site Index Page

  Hey Everyone, I've been messing with this for days now and can't seem to figure it out. I am trying to pass a 2nd segment variable to my client's index page. The URL I'm trying is: http://www.compupay.com/site/CSCPA/. The problem is, rather than showing the site's index page with the segment variable of "CSCPA" still in the URL, it shows the index page with no segment variables. Initially, I thought it was a .htaccess problem but I couldn't find anything in it that seemed out of whack. Any ideas? I am posting the .htaccess file so another pair of eyes can see it.   My sysadmin recently installed a new version of GCC, in /lusr/opt/gcc-4.4.3. I tested it as follows: mike@canon:~$ cat test.c int main(){ return 0; } mike@canon:~$ gcc test.c /lusr/opt/gcc-4.4.3/libexec/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/4.4.3/cc1: error while loading shared libraries: libmpfr.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory After informing my sysadmin about this, he said to add /lusr/opt/mpfr-2.4.2/lib:/lusr/opt/gmp-4.3.2/lib to my LD_LIBRARY_PATH. After doing this, I get the following error: mike@canon:~$ gcc test.c cc1: error: unrecognized command line option "-L/lusr/opt/mpfr-2.4.2/lib" First, my sysadmin wasn't entirely sure this was the best workaround(though he did say it worked for him...), so is there a better solution? Second, why am I getting a linker error from cc, and how can I fix it? • grep is inconsistently defaulting to grep -P?

  I have a script that does some housekeeping that works perfectly well when invoked from an interactive shell, but did nothing when invoked by cron. To troubleshoot this I started a shell with a 'blank' environment with the command: env -i /bin/bash --noprofile --norc Using this blank env I've dug into my script and found that the following grep will not match any files: grep -il "^ws_status\s*=\s*[\"']remove[\"']$" However, when run from an interactive shell the command will return the filenames of the matching files. As a note, the expression is matching lines like: WS_STATUS = "remove" Through trial-and-error I discovered that adding -P to the options [Perl regex] the command started working normally in the 'blank' shell. However, I have no idea why my login shell appears to be defaulted to grep -P. There is only one grep binary, /bin/grep There are no aliases defined for grep=pgrep or grep="grep -P" There is no env variable GREP_OPTIONS defined. What's the deal here? Note: OS is RHEL v5.10, Bash is v3.2.25, grep is v2.5.1

  I'm trying to write a shell script over ssh via a bash prompt. The shell, however, insists on interpreting any variable I want to write instead of writing it directly to file. For example, cat <<EOF >checkup.sh\n'$command'EOF is simply written as '' to file. How do I get $command written instead? I've tried every practical method of escaping I can think of. If it changes anything, I'm doing it over PHP using phpseclib.
