  • Looking for a jQuery plugin that scrolls HTML content continuously on mouseover and in a loop

    - by Steph
I've looked at a lot of various jQuery plugins that I thought I could tweak to get working the way I want but so far have been unsuccessful. I'm not sure if there is a plugin out there that meets these requirements or if I should just write my own (although I'm a bit of a novice!). The requirements: Scroll HTML containers left/right infintely in a loop/carousel Scrolling action is triggered by mouseover on arrows Scrolling action must be continuous during mouseover (i.e. doesn't pause after each container) Number of containers is flexible

  • Reducing width of bar chart series

    - by gAMBOOKa
Note: by width i mean the height here, I use width because by default, bar charts are vertical and flex uses the width property I want to reduce the width of the following barchart so Type 5, Type 4, Type 3, Type 2, Type 1 are very close to each other. I tried playing with the barWidthRatio, the horizontalAxisRatio and the maxBarWidth properties. Neither is giving me the desired result. I can only manage to reduce the width of the orange bars, how do I reduce the width of the blue bars?

  • Javascript: How to calculate the exact position of the viewport?

    - by batmanfu
My problem is I need to get the position of the viewport relative to the extent of the entire document. I am only concerned with Firefox. My issue is that everything I have read says that: viewport height is window.innerHeight scroll position is window.pageYOffset document total height is document.height So, I would expect that if I scrolled to the bottom of a page that window.innerHeight + window.pageYOffset = document.height But it doesn't! Can someone please explain to me why this is?

  • Background image is not displayed in Firefox

    - by petersidor
An image set as the background of a DIV is displayed in IE, but not in Firefox. CSS example: div.something { background:transparent url(../images/table_column.jpg) repeat scroll 0 0; } (The issue is described in many places but haven't seen any conclusive explanation or fix.)

  • How can a WPF StackPanel fill vertically from bottom to top?

    - by Stimul8d
I need to be able to fill a stackpanel with buttons but the buttons must appear at the bottom of the stackpanel first and populate upwards. The buttons are created dynamically and there's an unknown number of them so visual hackery just won't work. I've tried experimenting with vertical alignments but to no avail. Thanks in advance.

  • Command line CSV viewer?

    - by Benjamin Oakes
Anyone know of a command-line CSV viewer for Linux/OS X? I'm thinking of something like less but that spaces out the columns in a more readable way. (I'd be fine with opening it with OpenOffice Calc or Excel, but that's way too overpowered for just looking at the data like I need to.) Having horizontal and vertical scrolling would be great.

  • Jquery slider going the wrong way

    - by Rob
Im using a jquery slider and having an issue with what direction it scrolls on click. It seems to screw up after clicking the right arrow then left, but will scroll left if clicked first, weird. Is this a bug or am I missing something here? PS- Im using Chrome (Mac) but seems to behave the same with Firefox and Safari See example http://www.warface.co.uk/clients/warface.co.uk/blog/ Please click the red central arrow to reveal the slider. Many thanks Rob

  • Hidden divs for "lazy javascript" loading? Possible security/other issues?

    - by xyld
I'm curious about people's opinion's and thoughts about this situation. The reason I'd like to lazy load javascript is because of performance. Loading javascript at the end of the body reduces the browser blocking and ends up with much faster page loads. But there is some automation I'm using to generate the html (django specifically). This automation has the convenience of allowing forms to be built with "Widgets" that output content it needs to render the entire widget (extra javascript, css, ...). The problem is that the widget wants to output javascript immediately into the middle of the document, but I want to ensure all javascript loads at the end of the body. When the following widget is added to a form, you can see it renders some <script>...</script> tags: class AutoCompleteTagInput(forms.TextInput): class Media: css = { 'all': ('css/jquery.autocomplete.css', ) } js = ( 'js/jquery.bgiframe.js', 'js/jquery.ajaxQueue.js', 'js/jquery.autocomplete.js', ) def render(self, name, value, attrs=None): output = super(AutoCompleteTagInput, self).render(name, value, attrs) page_tags = Tag.objects.usage_for_model(DataSet) tag_list = simplejson.dumps([tag.name for tag in page_tags], ensure_ascii=False) return mark_safe(u'''<script type="text/javascript"> jQuery("#id_%s").autocomplete(%s, { width: 150, max: 10, highlight: false, scroll: true, scrollHeight: 100, matchContains: true, autoFill: true }); </script>''' % (name, tag_list,)) + output What I'm proposing is that if someone uses a <div class=".lazy-js">...</div> with some css (.lazy-js { display: none; }) and some javascript (jQuery('.lazy-js').each(function(index) { eval(jQuery(this).text()); }), you can effectively force all javascript to load at the end of page load: class AutoCompleteTagInput(forms.TextInput): class Media: css = { 'all': ('css/jquery.autocomplete.css', ) } js = ( 'js/jquery.bgiframe.js', 'js/jquery.ajaxQueue.js', 'js/jquery.autocomplete.js', ) def render(self, name, value, attrs=None): output = super(AutoCompleteTagInput, self).render(name, value, attrs) page_tags = Tag.objects.usage_for_model(DataSet) tag_list = simplejson.dumps([tag.name for tag in page_tags], ensure_ascii=False) return mark_safe(u'''<div class="lazy-js"> jQuery("#id_%s").autocomplete(%s, { width: 150, max: 10, highlight: false, scroll: true, scrollHeight: 100, matchContains: true, autoFill: true }); </div>''' % (name, tag_list,)) + output Nevermind all the details of my specific implementation (the specific media involved), I'm looking for a consensus on whether the method of using lazy-loaded javascript through hidden a hidden tags can pose issues whether security or other related? One of the most convenient parts about this is that it follows the DRY principle rather well IMO because you don't need to hack up a specific lazy-load for each instance in the page. It just "works". UPDATE: I'm not sure if django has the ability to queue things (via fancy template inheritance or something?) to be output just before the end of the </body>?

  • Autocomplete functionality on a textarea

    - by sslepian
Is there a way to implement auto-complete functionality in a region defined by textarea tags or something similar? I'm currently using a jquery autocomplete plugin to suggest input to the user inside input tags, but the issue is that the autocomplete phrases can often be fairly long and thus scroll off the edge of the input field.

  • svn says conflicted but it's really merged (TortoiseSVN)

    - by JoelFan
Lately I've been seeing behavior where after an update svn shows certain files as "conflicted" but when I try to edit the conflicts, there are none (The "next conflict" and "previous conflict" buttons are disabled and if I scroll through the file, none of the lines are marked red). This seems to have started after I started working from a different repository than I had been working with, but I'm not sure if that's related.

  • Flex chart zooms out on series visibility change

    - by asawilliams
I have a chart that the user is able to zoom into an area by setting the min and max of LinearAxis for the vertical and horizontal axis. When you are zoomed in and you want to view or hide one of the series the chart zooms out to the max and then back in. How do I get the chart to not zoom out when setting the visibility of the series?

  • How to change the outlining hover color in VS 2010?

    - by RCIX
If i hover over the thin vertical bar on the left, it highlights the entire scope of the block that's to the right. When this scope is large, my entire screen flashes white (a consequence of my custom color scheme). Is there a way to change that color? i don't recall there being one when i made the theme.

  • How to make items fill available space in JToolBar?

    - by Konrad Garus
I have a horizontal JToolbar with JToggleButtons. For some reason it is placed in a container that has larger height. My JToggleButtons use only as much space as they need, leaving ugly empty space below and under them. How can I make them fill all available space without setting size arbitrarily? Similar question: How I can make components fill all horizontal space in a vertical tool bar?

  • WPF MediaElement video playback tearing

    - by GeekyMonkey
I'm trying to use the MediaElement control in WPF to play back video. It works great in Vista, but when I run it on an XP machine I get tearing in the display. It looks as if it's not using the vertical synch, and just updating the screen mid-draw. Anyone know how to fix this problem?

  • How do I simulate a scrollbar click with jQuery?

    - by Ian Davis
How do I simulate a scrollbar click with jQuery? So, if a user clicks on a div that says "scroll down," it'll be the exact same behavior as if he/she clicked on the down arrow of the browser's scrollbar. Using the current browser's behavior would be optimal, vs. doing something like $.browser.scrolldown(200,'fast'). Something like $.browser.triggerDownArrowOnScrollBar() would be sweet!

  • Displaying Data on the Form with C#

    - by The.Anti.9
I'm searching files and returning lines that include the search text, and I'm not really sure the best way to display the information I get. Every time I get a match, I want to show, in some sort of control, the File it came from, and the whole text line. (aka streamreader.ReadLine() result). First I tried just putting it all in a read-only text box, but it doesn't have a scroll bar. What is the best form control to help me display this data neatly?
