Pete's focus at Microsoft is the community around client application development (WPF, Silverlight, Windows Phone, Surface, Windows Forms, C++, Native Windows API and more).   • Restoring android after ubuntu touch fails

    I'm trying to restore android after playing around with ubuntu touch I follow exactly the same steps described the ubuntu's wiki page i.e. Download the factory image corresponding to your device's model and version (initial table has links). Ensure the device is connected and powered on. Extract the downloaded file and cd into the extracted directory. run adb reboot-bootloader run ./flash-all.sh (use sudo if lack of permissions on the workstation don't allow you to talk to the device). The archive is downloaded successfully, checked the sha1 checksum everything is ok. But the ./flash-all.sh fails like this sending 'bootloader' (2308 KB)... OKAY [ 0.513s] writing 'bootloader'... OKAY [ 0.292s] finished. total time: 0.805s rebooting into bootloader... OKAY [ 0.007s] finished. total time: 0.008s sending 'radio' (12288 KB)... OKAY [ 2.668s] writing 'radio'... OKAY [ 1.372s] finished. total time: 4.040s rebooting into bootloader... OKAY [ 0.009s] finished. total time: 0.009s archive does not contain 'boot.sig' archive does not contain 'recovery.sig' failed to allocate 435793780 bytes error: update package missing system.img My device is Nexus 4. Tried both 4.2.2 and 4.3 androind versions for Nexus 4 still the same. Any ideas how problem can be solved ?

  • Introducing Elke Phelps, Guest Author

    I'm very pleased to welcome Elke Phelps as a new contributor to this blog.  Elke needs little introduction to most long-time readers, as she's been a pillar of the E-Business Suite sysadmin community for years.  What's special about this announcement is that Elke is joining this blog's panel of guest authors as a member of my Product Management team in the Oracle E-Business Suite Applications Technology Group.  I am thrilled to have her as part of my team and look forward to her contributions to this blog. Here's a short bio: Elke is a Product Manager in the Oracle E-Business Suite Applications Technology Group.  She joined Oracle in 2011 after having been an Oracle customer and Oracle Technologist (Oracle Database Administrator, Oracle Applications DBA, Technical Architect and Technical Manager of an Oracle Applications DBA Team) since 1993. Elke is the lead author of the Oracle Applications DBA Field Guide (Apress 2006) and Oracle R12 Applications DBA Field Guide (Coqui Tech and Press 2010).  Elke is also the founder of the Oracle Applications User Group (OAUG) E-Business Suite Applications Technology Special Interest Group (SIG) and served as President of the SIG from February 2005 - August 2011.  Elke has been a speaker at Oracle OpenWorld and Collaborate since 2004.  Prior to joining Oracle, Elke was designated an Oracle ACE (2007) and Oracle ACE Director (2009).   Elke has a Computer Science Degree and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma.  In her spare time, Elke enjoys traveling especially to Europe, Puerto Rico and the amazing US National Parks.  Elke also enjoys hiking, antiquing, gardening and cooking.

  • UIModalPresentationFormSheet on iPad in landscape mode

    I created a UIViewController view from XIB with modalPresentationStyle set to UIModalPresentationFormSheet and everything works great in portrait mode. When I switch to landscape the view gets moved upperleft (it's not centered as it should be) and most part of it is clipped. Any ideas why this is happening and how to solve it? Thanks

  • Regex to match a whole string only if it lacks a given substring/suffix

    I've searched for questions like this, but all the cases I found were solved in a problem-specific manner, like using !g in vi to negate the regex matches, or matching other things, without a regex negation. Thus, I'm interested in a “pure” solution to this: Having a set of strings I need to filter them with a regular expression matcher so that it only leaves (matches) the strings lacking a given substring. For example, filtering out "Foo" in: Boo Foo Bar FooBar BooFooBar Baz Would result in: Boo Bar Baz I tried constructing it with negative look aheads/behinds (?!regex)/(?<!regex), but couldn't figure it out. Is that even possible?

    I have two entities: Question and FavoritesCounter. FavoritesCounter should be created when the question is added to favorites for the first time. Consider a use case when two users tries to add a question to favorites simultaneously - this will cause EntityExistsException when entityManager.persist(counter) is called for the second user.     I’m trying to embed some JARs into single OSGi bundle using the feature of maven-bundle-plugin The thing that worries me is that all packages of embedded JARs are put into the Import-Package header of the generated MANIFEST.MF. If I specify explicitly to use only the packages I need, like in the following snippet: Import-Package: org.osgi.framework The build fails with BND error (unresolved references). So, the question here is how can I build the bundle with embedded JARs with "Import-Package" header I need?
