    The problem is I could not view any msdn.microsoft.com/* site and the main site itself on my Ubuntu box on Google Chrome browser.     Is it possible to assign different background images to tabs in Conemu? Console2 supports custom backgrounds per tab, and I'd like something similar to the functionality it provides.   • Reply to mailman archived message

    (not exactly sure if this is the right place for this question, but I trust you will migrate it if it isn't) I was having a problem with gdb, and while there issue appears to be recurring, I found only one instance of someone recently experiencing the same problem. I found this other instance on a mailman archived mailing list. Then I tried some more things and finally solved the issue with gdb. So, now I want to report back the solution I found to the mailing list. However, this is really only of use if mailman recognizes my mail as being the same thread as the original problem, but I do not have that mail (just the online archived version of it) so I cannot reply to it. My question: How can I make sure mailman considers my mail as a reply to that thread? Is simply copying the topic enough?

    The icon shows that it's full. I just deleted stuff, so I know that it's full. But when I open it, it doesn't show the deleted items. The only option I have is to restore them or empty them. Help me out. It's VERY VERY important for me to fix this problem since I use this workstation for my studio purposes. P.S. It's a Windows 7 Ultimate (x86) machine.

    Why does Windows 7 x64 work faster than an x86 edition on my PC even though I mostly use x86 things in it? What's wrong with me, and what am I missing? Majority of the things I use is x86 (e.g. DAWs, games, media players). A considerable amount of them, however, are x64 (although their x86 counterparts work just fine). I've tried using the same things on the same system but always ended up finding Windows 7 x64 working slightly faster than x86. I'm very observant. I even notice the tiniest window animations. System: Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 @ 2.93 GHz RAM: 2 GB x 2 = 4 GB DDR2 @ 332 MHz Motherboard: Intel D945GCNL Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 4350 @ 1 GB Dedicated Audio: M-Audio FastTrack Pro HDD: Samsung HD753LJ 733 GB & Samsung HD160JJ 156 GB As you can see, my system is old.

  • Port 80 not accessible Amazon ec2

    I have started a Amazon EC2 instance (Linux Redhat)... And Apache as well. But when i try: http://MyPublicHostName I get no response. I have ensured that my Security Group allows access to port 80. I can reach port 22 for sure, as i am logged into the instance via ssh. Within the Amazon EC2 Linux Instance when i do: $ wget http://localhost i do get a response. This confirms Apache and port 80 is indeed running fine. Since Amazon starts instances in VPC, do i have to do anything there... Infact i cannot even ping the instance, although i can ssh to it! Any advice? EDIT: Note that i had edited /etc/hosts file earlier to make 389-ds (ldap) installation work. My /etc/hosts file looks like this(IP addresses as shown as w.x.y.z ) 127.0.0.1   localhost.localdomain localhost w.x.y.z   ip-w-x-y-z.us-west-1.compute.internal w.x.y.z   ip-w-x-y-z.localdomain

    In my base project I use dependency of JasperReports which has non-existent repository declaration in its pom. When I run every Maven commad there is dependency looking for commons-collection in this Jasper repository so I need to wait for timeout. This is my base project and is used as dependency in my others projects so again I need to wait for timeout. Is there are a way to move this repository to blacklisted or override this settings? List<Food> x = new List<Food> () ; This list is populated with this class Public class Food { public string id { get; set; } public string idUser { get; set; } public string idType { get; set; } //idType could be Fruit , Meat , Vegetable , Candy public string location { get; set; } } Now i have this unsorted List<Food> list ; which has I.E. 15 elements. There are 8 Vegetable Types , 3 Fruit Types , 1 Meat Types , 1 Candy Types I would sort this so that to have a list ordered in this way : 1° : Food.idType Fruit 2° : Food.idType Vegetables 3° : Food.idType Meat 4° : Food.idType Candy 5° : Food.idType Fruit 6° : Food.idType Vegetables 7° : Food.idType Fruit //Becouse there isnt more Meat so i insert the //next one which is Candy but also this type is empty //so i start from begin : Fruit 8° : Food.idType Vegetables 9° : Food.idType Vegetables // For the same reason of 7° 10 ° Food.idType Vegetables ...... .... .... 15 : Food.idType Vegetables I cant find a rule to do this.     We have an open beta of an app which occasionally causes the heapspace to overflow. The JVM reacts by going on a permanent vacation. To analyze this I would like to peek into the memory at the point where it failed. Java does not want me to do this.   • ASP.NET Dynamically filtering data

    For a project I'm working on, we're looking for a way to dynamically add filters to a page which then control the dataoutput in, for instance, a grid. We want to add the filters dynamically because we want the customer to be able to change which properties can be filtered and what filtertype (textbox, dropdown, colourpicker, etc.) should be used. The filter should work as follows: - The customer links a filter to a certain property and specifies the filtertype (for this example: dropdown). - A user control which contains all the filter loads all filters specified - The filters load all values of the specified property as options. The first time the page loads; this would be the values of all items. - Now the user selects a value from one of the filters; the page reloads - Only items which have the specified filter value are retrieved, the user may specify one or more filters at the same time. - Once a user drills down by filtering, only filtervalues of the retrieved items should be used in the other filters. I have the following problems: - When I create the filters runtime, events are lost because the controls get recreated each postback. - I could place the filters in PreInit which should solve this, but then determining which controls should be loaded becomes a problem since loading all environment vars isn't finished yet - I don't know a good way of returning all the filter values to a central point from which I can make a good query. - The query has to be dynamic. I'm using linq which I want to make dynamic so I don't have to select everything everytime. How to make a dynamic select query based on a string stored in the database? - I have to select items based on the filtervalues and then adjust the rest of the filters to the already made selection. That kind of messes up the whole regular databinding sequence. Any help in one of the above would be great! PS: One thing I thought about was passing along filter values in the postback which would have to be recognizable. That way the server could use them for selection and then create the filters and autoselect the previously selected filtervalues. I'm not quite sure how to acheive this though...

" - 1253<br/>\n"; // some stuff happens here too } The update query never fails. For some reason, between the two calls of memory_get_usage, there is some memory added. Because the big loop runs about 500.000 or more times, in the end it really adds up to alot of memory. Is there anything I'm missing here? could it herhaps be that the memory is not actually added between the two calls, but at another point in the script? Edit: some extra info: Before the loop it's at about 5mb, after the loop about 440mb, and every update query adds about 250 bytes. (the rest of the memory gets added at other places in the loop). The reason I didn't post more of the "other stuff" is because its about 300 lines of code. I posted this part because it looks to be where the most memory is added.

    I am developing a profile-based web application where each user is assigned there own url through their username & iis rewrite mod's magic. A typical user's profile url would be http://www.mymark.com/mike Each user is also created a blog in a multi-user wordpress installation. The wordpress url would look like this: http://www.mymark.com/blog/mike I am trying to use the rewrite module to create more canonical urls for the user (http://www.mymark.com/mike/blog), and have tried several regex variations that I have created through RegExr(a regex generation tool) and come up with this as the pattern to match (www.|)mymark.com/([^/]+)/blog but haven't had any success so far.   • How do I create a downscaled copy of an FBO in OpenGL?

    Hi, In order to speed up some post-processing shaders I'm using, I need to perform these operations on a framebuffer that is smaller in size than the actual window (about 1/4th or more). Most of the effects I want to optimize are simple blurring operations that could be replaced (for a large part) by smaller kernel and bilinear filtering. Thus, I need to create a copy of the current FBO into another one. However, I couldn't find anything, that works, on how to do this. I've tried using glBlitframebufferEXT and rendering a fullscreen quad into the other framebuffer, but both paths result in a black texture as output. How do I go about solving this problem?

  • What's the most efficient way to setup a multi-lingual website

    Hi, I'm developing a website that will be available in different languages. It is a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) setup, and it makes use of Smarty, mostly for the template engine. The way we currently translate is by a self-written smarty plugin, which will recognize certain tags in the HTML files, and will find the corresponding tag in an earlier defined language file. The HTML could look as follows: <p>Hi, welcome to $#gamedesc;!</p> And the language file could look like this: gamedesc:Poing 2009$; welcome:this is another tag$; Which would then output <p>Hi, welcome to Poing 2009!</p> This system is very basic, but it is pretty hard to control, if I f.e. would like to keep track of what has been translated so far, or give certain users the rights to translate only certain tags. I've been looking at some alternative ways to approach this, by either replacing the text-file with XML files which could store some extra meta-data, or by perhaps storing all the texts in the database, and retrieving it there. My question is, what would be the best way to make this system both maintainable and perform well with high user-traffic? Are there perhaps any (lightweight) plugins I could take a look at?

  • Sharing user controls acrros multiple websites

    Hello, I am currently working on a project which involves three different websites with a lot of common functionality. At the moment the common functionality is placed in a different website full of user controls. The problem is sharing the user controls across the multiple websites. Looking around on SO and other websites, the only solution seems the be using virtual directories. As this is a workable solution (we us this at the moment) it doesn't seem as a "clean" solution. Which "best practices" exist on sharing common functionality (including the GUI/HTML) between different site? Is it (for example) possible to create a single Web Application project and deploy subdirectories (each with their own web.config) to different production environments?

  • Why are Maven Goals not added by IntelliJ?

    I have produced a new Maven Project from gae-archetype-gwt from within IntelliJ, and everything is generated well, but the gae:... goals won't show up in the Maven View, and if I try to update Repository Indices, apart from the local repository I get errors only. When I run gae:unpack from terminal, everything works fine. Im running Ubuntu 10.04 Beta 1 and am using open-jdk, for which IntelliJ is also configured. UPDATE: WORKS FINE WITH UBUNTU 10.04 FINAL + JDK FROM PARTNER REPOSITORY

  • Licensing for the undecided

    I am creating a game in C++. Now I am not sure on how I will distribute it yet - though I am pretty sure that I won't be asking money for it. And I am looking into a licensing and I wondered if there is a license that is suited for the undecided like me. My current releases (which are really really early versions of the game, with far from full functionality) are executable only. However, I am actually thinking that I might release the source on an open source license. For now, I am the only contributor, so that would be no problem as I only need my own permission to move to a less restrictive license. However, when I allow other people to contribute, I would need all their permissions to do so (right?). So I was wondering if there is a license that let's me distribute the game executable only for now, but will let me switch to a less restrictive license if I want. Basically I need a license in which contributors give permission to switch to a less restrictive license up front. Does anybody know of license (or other construction) that would allow me to do so?

  • Copying web part pages within SharePoint

    Hi, I'm trying to copy some web part pages (aspx) from one library into another. Reason is that I've got sites which are created dynamiccally. I also want to add some content (based on several rules) to those sites, which include aspx web part pages. The deployment works fine, but the web part pages are empty in the target site. As I've read in several blog posts, this has something to do with the ghosting of the files. Is there a way to literally copy all of the content in the ASPX to the site? The webparts aren't site or feature dependant, so the pages should work on every site. When I copy the pages with SPD, it works fine, but I don't understand how SPD does this.
