• DNS issue for internal website routing internet connection from remote location

  I have an issue that I could use some help with. Our company has a main location and a remote location. Previously, the remote location was connected to the main location through an internet connection VPN tunnel. The connection was pitifully slow at 1.5Mbps, so we upgraded it with a 75Mbps direct link. That meant the remote location lost it's internet access, so we routed their access through the main office internet connection. Everything works perfect except for one thing. The website we host is not accessible from the remote location unless the IP address is used. If I do NSLOOKUP on our website address from a machine connected to the main location network, it resolves correctly to the inside IP address. However, if I do the same from a remote location machine, it resolves to the website's outside IP address. Our internal DNS server(s) have a pointer and CNAME records set up, and everything was working perfectly before the connection was upgraded. In addition, the remote location has a domain controller, DNS server and DHCP server to service these requests at the remote location and prevent these requests from getting routed back and forth over the link. So I think was it happening is that for some reason the DNS server at the remote location is not resolving our website name correctly and passing the requests on to the routers, which then push the request out to the internet DNS system. That resolves the name to our external IP. This is purely a DNS issue, everything else works just fine. I am just stumped on this one. Any ideas on how to fix this? Edit: I forgot to mention that at the remote side of the link is a Cisco ASA-5505 and at the main office there is a Cisco ASA-5510. The link is connected between these 2 devices and the routing is handled in the 5510. Thanks, Michael

• STOP 0x7b booting from iSCSI

  Hi, I've a Windows 2008 SBS running. It boots of iSCSI. That setup worked for months until yesterday. I intended to reboot and gained a: STOP 0x0000007b INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE and no idea why. My setup hasn't changed. No new controller, no new or changed iSCSI targets, no new Network Card or IP address changes. I had all Windows Updates on it. Last known good: same STOP. Allow unsigned drivers: same STOP. Safe mode (all variants): same STOP. Mount target from a client: works. Filesystem check fine. I booted of the SBS DVD but in computer repair options my target doesn't appear. When i choose setup the target appears. So, how can i diagnose what's going wrong? Any helpful tools? Any hints?   I am trying to determine the number of days between 2 dates using LINQ with Entity Framework. It is telling me that it does not recognize Subtract on the System.TimeSpan class Here is my where portion of the LINQ query. where ((DateTime.Now.Subtract(vid.CreatedDate).TotalDays < maxAgeInDays)) Here is the error I receive in the VS.NET debugger {"LINQ to Entities does not recognize the method 'System.TimeSpan Subtract(System.DateTime)' method, and this method cannot be translated into a store expression."} Am I doing something wrong or is there a better way to get the number of days between 2 DateTimes in the entity framework? thanks Michael

I have tried setting char *envp[1] = {"DISPLAY:0.0"}; and execute 'xhost +' , I dont' see the 'cannot open display' warning, but my program is still not launched.   you have been a great help last time, i hope you can give me some advise this time, too. I read a binary file into matlab with bit16 (format = bitn) and i get a string of ones and zeros. bin = '1 00011 1111111111' (16 bits: 1. sign, 2-6. exponent, 7-16. mantissa) According to ftp://www.fox-toolkit.org/pub/fasthalffloatconversion.pdf it can be 'converted' like out = (-1)^bin(1) * 2^(bin(2:6)-15) * 1.bin(7:16) [are exponent and mantissa still binary?] Can someone help me out and tell me how to deal with the 'eeeee' and '1.mmmmmmmmmm' as mentioned in the pdf, please.   I am attempting to call a Web Service (created in PHP) from my C# application. I have successfully added the Web Reference in Visual Studios, however I cannot figure out exactly how to invoke the call to the web service. • Intellij Javafx artifact - how do you make it?

  I've been trying all day to turn my javafx application into a jar file. I'm using Java 1.7 update 7. Oracle has some information, but it just seems scattered all over the place. Intellij is almost doing the job, but I get the following error: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javafx/application/Application Which seems to say that I need to tell java where the jfxrt.jar is... If I add this jar to my classpath info for the manifest build in intellij - ctrl+shift+alt+s - Artifacts - Output Layout tab - Class Path, then I get another error: Could not find or load main class com.downloadpinterest.code.Main It seems strange to have to include jfxrt.jar in my class path though... I've tried to create an ant script as well, but I feel like IntelliJ is 90% of the way there - and I just need a bit of help to figure out why I need to include jfxrt.jar, and why my Main class isn't being found (I'm guessing I need to add it to the classpath somehow?). Could anyone clue me up as to what is happening? I had a basic gui before which worked fine, but JavaFX seems to be making life complicated!

• Problem with Richfaces running with NGinx proxy

  Hi, I got a problem with my Richfaces application. I am using it with JSF and GlassFish v.2 on my localhost and combination od dataTable and dataScroller works fine. While moving the app to the VPS running Tomcat but proxied by Nginx server, everything crashes. Exactly the scroller is working, but the dataTable view is not refreshed! I looked at responses with Firebug and figured out, that even on VPS the response contains 2nd page of the dataTable, but it is not shown on the screen. I tried everything - changing page attribute of dataScroller (it was taken from session bean, I changed that to request bean). I also removed page attribute from dataScroller - did not help either. Finally I added my table to reRender attribute of dataScroller - still whichever page I choose I am seeing only the first one. Does anyone even heard about such problem? I am going crazy with this.   Hello, ist there a way to get a change notification if an attached property changed? A simple example is a Canvas with a Rectangle in it. The position of the Rectange is set by using the DepenendyProperties Canvas.Top and Canvas.Left. I'm using an Adorner to move the Rectangle around by changing the Canvas.Top and Canvas.Left. <Canvas Width="500" Height="500" > <Rectangle Width="40" Height="40" Canvas.Left="10" Canvas.Top="20" /> </Canvas> The next step is to create an Arrow between two Rectangles. In order to keep track of the moving Rectangles the Arrow must get a change notification whenever the position of a Rectanglechanges. This would be easy if I could just get a changed notification when the Attached Property Canvas.Topchanges. Thanks for any help, Michael

• Javascript crazy idea finding a node

  I had a crazy (but so crazy that it just might work) idea where every element on a page is created in javascript but given an ID which is a hash of its path in the DOM. So instead of searching through the DOM to find an element, you hash the path and then getElementById() with that hash. Problem with this is getting the path might be more expensive than searching the DOM in the first place. Any ideas how this could be done or if it is just plain stupid?

So, it would be nice if anyone could name a way how to put an attribute inside of the metaclass which is able to be read when new is executed. • How can I drag and drop a xaml activity to a WF4 rehosted designer?

  I understand that the WorkflowDesigner can receive a dragged item in several ways, for example: By dragging an item from the toolbox and dropping it on the designer: an empty activity of that type will be inserted on the designer at the drop location. One can also drag an activity from the designer and drop it on another location in the designer, the dragged activity will be inserted at the drop location as well. Is it possible that similar to these two drag and drop mechanism, I can drag a xaml activity to the designer? What I have in mind is this, Let's say you have a ListView containing several xaml files. I want to be able to drag one of the ListView items (ie one of the xaml files), and when I drag it over the designer it will act as if I drag something from the toolbox (except the activity will be supplied from the xaml). I know I can create a runtime Activity from the file by using ActivityXamlServices.Load(filename), and I want this activity to be inserted at the drop location. But how to tell the application to understand this when I drag and drop?

  Hi, I have an "item", which goes through a multi-page creation process. Images are uploaded at step five, and I keep track of the steps by using the attribute "complete". When validating whether an image is attached with paperclip, I get problems using the code below: validates_attachment_presence :pic1, :if => Proc.new { |u| u.complete == "step5"} It seems that I can't access the "complete" attribute, as the active-record object seems to be the paperclip image. • iPhone SQLite Password Field Encryption

  Good Afternoon Guys and Girls, Hopefully this will be a quick and easy question. I am building an App that requires the user to input their login details for an online service that it links to. Multiple login details can be added and saved as the user may have several accounts that they would like to switch between. These details will be stored in an SQLite database and will contain their passwords. Now the questions are: 1: Should these passwords be encrypted in the database? My instinct would say yes but then I do not know how secure the device and system is and if this is necessary. 2: If they should be encrypted what should I use? I think encrypting the whole database file sounds a bit over-kill so should I just encrypt the password before saving it to the database? If this is case what could I use to achieve this? I have found reference to a "crypt(3)" but am having trouble finding much about it or how to implement it. I eagerly await your replies!

A column is defined as follows: <columnDefinition name="Account" type="string" length="72" primaryKey="yes" modularize="property" category="formatted" description="..." /> This column contains values like "[Property]". When the custom action reads this column like this: hr = WcaGetRecordString(hRecCertificate, vcpqAccount, &pwzTemp); it get's the string "[Property]". But I need "PropertyValue".   Without paging function, i can loop through the gridview by using var sum = 0; var gridViewCtlId = '<%=timesheetView.ClientID%>'; var grid = document.getElementById(gridViewCtlId); var gridLength = grid.rows.length; so with gridLength i can loop through the gridview to sum all rows. However, when I use paging event of gridview, i use the page size to loop through all rows, but it occurs errors because the last page may not have enough rows. So would you please to help me how to get the rows in the each page of gridview?

  ello I understand this is a fairly common problem, but I'm yet to find a reliable solution. I have data in a csv file with the first column formatted dd/mm/yyyy. When I open it with Workbooks.OpenText it defaults to mm/dd/yyyy until it figures out that what it thinks is the month exceeds 12, then reverts to dd/mm/yyyy. This is my test code, which tries to force it as xlDMYFormat, and I've also tried the text format. I understand this problem only applies to *.csv files, not *.txt, but that isn't an acceptable solution.   I want to have developers write some custom apps for a site in Javascript but I want to sandbox it so they can't do anything naughty like redirect the user, set the body display to none etc etc. I have a namespace in Javascript where all the functions they'll ever need exist in there so I was thinking to create a sandbox would be a matter of: with(Namespace) { //App code goes here where they can only access Namespace.* } How is easy is it to get around this and what other methods can be done?   Hi all, Does anyone else notice that the contentOffset of UIScrollView doesnt update during a flick gesture? It only updates after the flick gesture has totally completed, when the flick gesture is finished. After the finger has left the screen, the scrollview keeps moving, in the decelerating phase. but this isnt reflected in the contentOffset of the UIScrollView. Is there a way to track where the contentOffset is during the decelerating part of the flick gesture? I have an OpenGL layer on top, and i want it to move with the scrollView. Can't seem to get the right info out of the scrollview though... Thoughts? thanks, michael

• NAVT WordPress Plugin - Just a quick question

  Hi, I got this plugin and have created my list etc and it's appearing fine. However, I am wondering how I create a list under another list...like the second level part of the list? I'm trying to create a dropdown menu you see. In the admin, when I try and drag the item over, it will only let me put it in the first level, how do I get it to go under a sub-item? I would consult the NAVT blog etc but the documentation is so poor it's a kind of joke. But I guess it IS free :) Many thanks, Michael

  Afternoon all, I really need your help as this is a Nightmare! I was earlier having a problem with referencing a 3rd Party Dll (Here) but have overcome this problem and am now having a problem referencing my own classes! Everything seems fine at build with no errors at all but when I go to run the application it comes up with the following Compilation Error: Compiler Error Message: CS0234: The type or namespace name 'Secure' does not exist in the namespace 'source_extranet' (are you missing an assembly reference?) The line that the Error points to this line in the class: source_extranet.Secure.BackendCustomData newdata = new source_extranet.Secure.BackendCustomData(); This line of code points to a class in the same folder as the calling code class. I have scoured Google looking for an answer and haven't found anything that points me to an answer to my problem. Any help would be AMAZING!

• Allocated memory address clash

  Hi, i don't understand how this happen. This is portion of my code.. int isGoal(Node *node, int startNode){ int i; . . } When i debug this using gdb i found out that 'i' was allocated at the memory address that have been previously allocated. (gdb)print &node->path->next $26 = (struct intNode **) 0xffbff2f0 (gdb) print &i $22 = (int *) 0xffbff2f0 node-path-next has been already defined outside this function. But as u can see they share the same address which at some point make the pointer point to another place when the i counter is changed. I compiled it using gcc on solaris platform Any helps would be really appreciated..
