• Can't enable apache mod on emerge

  I want to add mod_proxy and mod_proxy_http to Apache server on my Gentoo, but apparently some file with high priority on the system is disabling the mods and preventing me to install. I am currently editing /usr/portage/profiles/base/make.defaults file, but it gets updated (and changes lost) every time I update the system. I have to edit it every time I update the system/reinstall Apache. Besides that, I have already added dependencies to the /etc/portage/package.use file: www-servers/apache proxy proxy_http What other files do I have do change or should check flags so I can enable proxy and do not have to edit files again every time?

• after enabling mod ssl apache stops listening on port 80

  I have an ubuntu 12.04 server with zend server CE installed. I now wanted to enable https but after the first steps according to the documentation, 'a2enmod ssl' and 'apache service restart', apache does not listen on 443 but neither on 80, according to netstat -tap | grep http(s)! • How can I override mod-php5's .php mapping to php4-cgi per VirtualHost or Directory?

  I am running Debian Linux with apache2 and libapache2-mod-php5 5.3.3-7. I have one VirtualHost which requires php4. So I researched and compiled php4-cgi. However, I cannot seem to: Override mod-php5's mapping of .php in that vhost (or even globally, without disabling php completley). Even find where that mapping is made, in hope of disabling it and enabling mod-php5 or php4-cgi per vhost. This is my php4-cgi mapping (Inside the one php4 vhost): ScriptAlias /php4 /usr/local/php4/bin <Directory /usr/local/php4/bin> Options +ExecCGI +FollowSymLinks </Directory> <Directory /www/test> AddHandler php4-cgi-script .php Action php4-cgi-script /php4/php Options +ExecCGI </Directory> This does not work, mod-php5 still runs all .php files in that vhost/directory. If I change the file extension in the AddHandler above from .php to .php4, then .php4 files do run php4-cgi as expected, but I can't change all the files in the app to .php4. I thought maybe I could disable the mod-php5's mapping in my vhost or directory, then do my cgi-config (as above) but many combinations of these in different contexts did not work: RemoveHandler .php RemoveType .php php_flag engine off (this seems to even disable my php4-cgi so that wont work) The only other place I can find any mapping is in /etc/mime.types, but commenting out the relevant lines and restarting apache2 does not affect mod-php5's .php mapping. I have searched as much as I can, it is now a mystery to me. Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

  I've got a driver setup for 32 bit: An INF file and an x86 folder with two 32 bit dlls. I need to replace these 32 bit dll files with 64 bit ones. I just simply overwrite 32 bit files but no lock. How can I make 64 bit version of the driver?   I'm working through a problem where I want to select a different static content file based on the incoming Host header. The simple example is a mapping from URLs to files like this: www.example.com/images/logo.gif - \images\logo.gif skin2.example.com/images/logo.gif - \images\skin2\logo.gif skin3.example.com/images/logo.gif - \images\skin3logo.gif I have this working with the following RewriteRules, but I don't like how I have to repeat myself so much. Each host has the same set of rules, and each RewriteCond and RewriteRule has the same path. However I'm wanting to shorten the path to the JavaScript file (aswell as do some caching) which is why I'm rewriting all JavaScript files via .htaccess to cache.php (which handles the caching). If I access the rewrited file- http://localhost/js/functions.js directly it prints the JavaScript code, as any JavaScript file would - so I'm confused as to what I'm doing wrong... I want a .htaccess code that rewrite in the following method: http://www.mydomain.com/apple/upcoming/2 --- http://www.mydomain.com/handler.php?topic=apple&orderby=upcoming&page=2 This is easy to do, but the problem is that all parameters are not required so the link has different levels of parameters each time like this: http://www.mydomain.com/apple/popular/2 -- topic=apple&orderby=popular&page=2 http://www.mydomain.com/apple/2 -- topic=apple&orderby=&page=2 http://www.mydomain.com/all/popular/2 -- topic=all&orderby=popular&page=2 http://www.mydomain.com/apple/upcoming/ -- topic=apple&orderby=upcoming&page= So briefly, the url has 3 optional parameters in one static order: (topic) (orderby) (page) Note: the ORDERBY parameter can be "popular" or "upcoming" or nothing.   i'm attempting to build a tiny (or perhaps not so tiny) formula that will contain numbers between a set min and max, but also loop these numbers so they are not clipped if they are outside of the range. so far, this is what i have. min1 = 10 max1 = 90 val1 = 92 //will make 12, which is what i want since it loops formula: min(max(min1,min(val1,max1)),mod(val1,max1)+min1) however, i'd like it to loop the other direction also, so that if val1 is 5, which is -5 outside of min1, it will become 85. another problem i'm running into is that max1 % max1 != max1 as i want it to, since the max is part of the range trying to be clear, here are some examples of desired output based on a range with looping min1 = 10 max1 = 90 ---------------------------------------------- val1 = 30 //within range: stays as 30 val1 = 90 //within range: stays as 90 val1 = -6 //below range: loops to becomes 84 val1 = 98 //above range: loops to becomes 18 i'd like not to resort to using a series of if/else statements, but one would be fine if it's absolutely required. is that even possible?

• What do I need to Mod a Unreal Engine 3 game?

  what I am looking for is some advise making a mod for a certain game and how I would go about making it. The game I am talking about is Blacklight: Retribution and what I wan't to know is; Is it possible? And if so, what programs will I need? It is an online only game so I was unsure how plausible a mod would be for it. Plus I have never made a video game before, but I do like the game and I wanted to do some things with it. Additionally, this will be my first time making anything video game related so I would appreciate any advise. To expand a bit, I plan to add something simple at first. A mod that would let you spectate another player in the first person. Then I plan do something a bit more complex where I want to make so the game optionally always records you playing (in short intervals most likely or you would run quickly out of memory). After all that is done I would add items, armor, weapons, and maybe make a map or not I am not sure but this in a shell what I hope to do. I don't know much about these things but I am reading anything I can get my hands on. So if this is overly ambitious or just plain out not a possibility any advise on what I should look to instead will be welcomed warmly. Thank you.

• php zencart mod - having problems with attributes array

  I inherited a zencart mod and can't figure out what's wrong. The customer selects a product and an attribute (model#). This is then sent to another form that they complete. When they submit the form, the product and the attribute should be included in the email sent. At this time, only the product is coming through. The attribute just says "array." The interesting part is, when I delete the line that prints the attribute, the products_options_names will print out. So I know that both the product and the products_options_names are working. The attribute is the only thing that is not working right. Here's what I believe to be the significant code. • Why won't this Apache modrewrite RewriteRule work?

  I'm trying to get Apache mod rewrite to work on my local machine. I'm running OSX with PHP 5 and the Apache mod rewrite module is enabled. I have a directory called localhost/~Jason/hfh/admin with various PHP includes called based on a $_GET variable. I want to let users type (in theory) localhost/~Jason/hfh/admin/pages and have that URL stay in the address bar, while what gets displayed is localhost/~Jason/hfh/admin/?admin=pages So. I've created a .htaccess file that sits in the /hfh directory. Inside, I've put this mod rewrite text: RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^admin/([^/.]+)/?$ admin/?admin=$1 [L] When I go to the browser and type localhost/~Jason/hfh/admin/pages I get a "Problem loading page" error, and Firefox says, "Oops. Firefox can't load this page for some reason." Can anyone help me figure this out? I have such a hard time with regex and mod rewrite...

  I am aware of the fact that there are tons of questions in this section and in server fault dealing with redirections from non-www to www URLs. But I couldn't find one dealing with this issue while preserving protocol. I am no mod-rewrite expert, and my code is just copy/pasted... here's what i have: RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^domain.tld$ [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.domain.tld$1 [R=301,L] So now http://domain.tld and https://domain.tld are forwarded to http://domain.tld How do i make it so that https stays on https while http stays on http?

• Redirecting non existing post to homepage; is that good for SEO?

  I am checking my website out on Google Webmasters and I am seeing an astonishing 5000 links that could not be found by Google's Crawlers. That's normal, because my website is built in a manner that users can drop their own things, which also lead to 404 pages. Not a problem at all if I can find a workaround of course... So my question is: what if I made a function or a mod rewrite that will check if the link exists (a post for example) and if not, it will redirect it to the home page. Is this good for SEO? Will Google see this as 'link found'? How do I have to look at this problem?
