• Web service client receiving generic FaultException rather than FaultException<T>

    - by Junto
    I am connecting to a Java Axis2 web service using a .NET web service client. The client itself targets the .NET 3.5 framework. The application that wraps the client DLL is 2.0. I'm not sure if that has any bearing. I have been given the WSDL and XSDs by email. From those I have built my proxy class using svcutil. Although I am able to successfully send messages, I am unable to pick up the correct faults when something goes wrong. In the example below, errors are always being picked up by the generic FaultException. catch (FaultException<InvoiceErrorType> fex) { OnLog(enLogLevel.ERROR, fex.Detail.ErrorDescription); } catch (FaultException gfex) { OnLog(enLogLevel.ERROR, gfex.Message); } The proxy client appears to have the appropriate attributes for the FaultContract: // CODEGEN: Generating message contract since the operation SendInvoiceProvider_Prod is neither RPC nor document wrapped. [OperationContractAttribute(Action = "https://private/SendInvoiceProvider", ReplyAction = "*")] [FaultContractAttribute(typeof(InvoiceErrorType), Action = "https://private/SendInvoiceProvider", Name = "InvoiceError", Namespace = "urn:company:schema:entities:base")] [XmlSerializerFormatAttribute(SupportFaults = true)] [ServiceKnownTypeAttribute(typeof(ItemDetail))] [ServiceKnownTypeAttribute(typeof(Supplier))] OutboundComponent.SendInvoiceProviderResponse SendInvoiceProvider_Prod(OutboundComponent.SendInvoiceProvider_Request request); I have enabled tracing and I can see the content of the fault coming back, but .NET is not recognizing it as an InvoiceError. The SOAP fault in full is: <soapenv:Fault> <faultcode xmlns="">soapenv:Client</faultcode> <faultstring xmlns="">Message found to be invalid</faultstring> <faultactor xmlns="">urn:SendInvoiceProvider</faultactor> <detail xmlns=""> <InvoiceError xmlns="urn:company:schema:entities:common:invoiceerror:v01"> <ErrorID>100040</ErrorID> <ErrorType>UNEXPECTED</ErrorType> <ErrorDescription><error xmlns="urn:company:schema:errordetail:v01"><errorCode>1000</errorCode><highestSeverity>8</highestSeverity><errorDetails count="1"><errorDetail><errorType>1</errorType><errorSeverity>8</errorSeverity><errorDescription>cvc-complex-type.2.4.a: Invalid content was found starting with element 'CompanyName'. One of '{"urn:company:schema:sendinvoice:rq:v01":RoleType}' is expected.</errorDescription><errorNamespace>urn:company:schema:sendinvoice:rq:v01</errorNamespace><errorNode>CompanyName</errorNode><errorLine>1</errorLine><errorColumn>2556</errorColumn><errorXPath/><errorSource/></errorDetail></errorDetails></error></ErrorDescription> <TimeStamp>2010-05-04T21:12:10Z</TimeStamp> </InvoiceError> </detail> </soapenv:Fault> I have noticed the namespace defined on the error: <InvoiceError xmlns="urn:company:schema:entities:common:invoiceerror:v01"> This is nowhere to be seen in the generated proxy class, nor in the WSDLs. The interface WSDL defines the error schema namespace as such: <xs:import namespace="urn:company:schema:entities:base" schemaLocation="InvoiceError.xsd"/> Could this be the reason why the .NET client is not able to parse the typed Fault Exception correctly? I have no control over the web service itself. I see no reason why .NET can't talk to a Java Axis2 web service. This user had a similar issue, but the reason for his problem cannot be the same as mine, since I can see the fault detail in the trace: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/864800/does-wcf-faultexceptiont-support-interop-with-a-java-web-service-fault Any help would be gratefully received.

  • Returning UTF-8 from a web service

    - by Marco Shaw
    Previous: Returning info from a Web Service I thought the previous answer made 100% sense, and I though I was out of the woods, but it still fails. An app I'm working with still seems to think what is being returned from the web service is ASCII encoded. Debugging it shows: <Envelope>
<ReturnOneResponse><ReturnOneResult><xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8">
<Symbol>PACR</Symbol><Company>Pacer International, Inc.</Company><MarketCap>$229.0M</MarketCap><PE>18.7</PE><Price>6.56</Price><Change>0.42</Change><PctChange>6.84%</PctChange><YTDChange>107.59%</YTDChange>
</ReturnOneResult></ReturnOneResponse>
</Envelope> So everything being returned from the web service seems to be changed into ASCII, and seems to refuse to read as UTF-8. Since my previous code in the above link, I also changed my string invocation: string value = @""; Still, that didn't help. Any other ideas?

  • jQuery Collapse (with cookies), default open instead of closed?

    - by Christian
    Hi. I've got a jQuery snippet which basically allows a user to toggle a div, open or closed - their preference is saved in a cookie. (function($) { $.fn.extend({ collapse: function(options) { var defaults = { inactive : "inactive", active : "active", head : ".trigger", group : ".wrap-me-up", speed : 300, cookie : "collapse" }; // Set a cookie counter so we dont get name collisions var op = $.extend(defaults, options); cookie_counter = 0; return this.each(function() { // Increment cookie name counter cookie_counter++; var obj = $(this), sections = obj.find(op.head).addClass(op.inactive), panel = obj.find(op.group).hide(), l = sections.length, cookie = op.cookie + "_" + cookie_counter; // Look for existing cookies for (c=0;c<=l;c++) { var cvalue = $.cookie(cookie + c); if ( cvalue == 'open' + c ) { panel.eq(c).show(); panel.eq(c).prev().removeClass(op.inactive).addClass(op.active); }; }; sections.click(function(e) { e.preventDefault(); var num = sections.index(this); var cookieName = cookie + num; var ul = $(this).next(op.group); // If item is open, slide up if($(this).hasClass(op.active)) { ul.slideUp(op.speed); $(this).removeClass(op.active).addClass(op.inactive); $.cookie(cookieName, null, { path: '/', expires: 10 }); return } // Else slide down ul.slideDown(op.speed); $(this).addClass(op.active).removeClass(op.inactive); var cookieValue = 'open' + num; $.cookie(cookieName, cookieValue, { path: '/', expires: 10 }); }); }); } }); })(jQuery); Demo: http://christianbullock.com/demo/ I'm just wondering how I can display the list open as default, and have the div collapse when the header is clicked? Many thanks. Christian.

  • amp is included in url struts tag

    - by lakshmanan
    Hi, In my web application, I use strust2 url tag to pass parameters like id etc., For example, I use a link to delete an entity and I use param to pass the id of the entity to be deleted. And I follow this throughout my web app for adding, editing, deleting an entity. During run time, sometimes, I don't get the params to be stored in my action's bean properties. When I see the link that is generated, I get something like What are these amps for ? why do they sit in between the action calls (made by link via url tag actions ) ? By the time I traverse back and forth in my web app, I get 10s and 20s of amp sitting in the request URL. What is the problem here ? Please help.

  • How do you overide a class that is called by another class with parent::method

    - by dan.codes
    I am trying to extend Mage_Catalog_Block_Product_View I have it setup in my local directory as its own module and everything works fine, I wasn't getting the results that I wanted. I then saw that another class extended that class as well. The method I am trying to override is the protected function _prepareLayout() This is the function class Mage_Review_Block_Product_View extends Mage_Catalog_Block_Product_View protected function _prepareLayout() { $this->getLayout()->createBlock('catalog/breadcrumbs'); $headBlock = $this->getLayout()->getBlock('head'); if ($headBlock) { $title = $this->getProduct()->getMetaTitle(); if ($title) { $headBlock->setTitle($title); } $keyword = $this->getProduct()->getMetaKeyword(); $currentCategory = Mage::registry('current_category'); if ($keyword) { $headBlock->setKeywords($keyword); } elseif($currentCategory) { $headBlock->setKeywords($this->getProduct()->getName()); } $description = $this->getProduct()->getMetaDescription(); if ($description) { $headBlock->setDescription( ($description) ); } else { $headBlock->setDescription( $this->getProduct()->getDescription() ); } } return parent::_prepareLayout(); } I am trying to modify it just a bit with the following, keep in mind I know there is a title prefix and suffix but I needed it only for the product page and also I needed to add text to the description. class MyCompany_Catalog_Block_Product_View extends Mage_Catalog_Block_Product_View protected function _prepareLayout() { $storeId = Mage::app()->getStore()->getId(); $this->getLayout()->createBlock('catalog/breadcrumbs'); $headBlock = $this->getLayout()->getBlock('head'); if ($headBlock) { $title = $this->getProduct()->getMetaTitle(); if ($title) { if($storeId == 2){ $title = "Pool Supplies Fast - " .$title; $headBlock->setTitle($title); } $headBlock->setTitle($title); }else{ $path = Mage::helper('catalog')->getBreadcrumbPath(); foreach ($path as $name => $breadcrumb) { $title[] = $breadcrumb['label']; } $newTitle = "Pool Supplies Fast - " . join($this->getTitleSeparator(), array_reverse($title)); $headBlock->setTitle($newTitle); } $keyword = $this->getProduct()->getMetaKeyword(); $currentCategory = Mage::registry('current_category'); if ($keyword) { $headBlock->setKeywords($keyword); } elseif($currentCategory) { $headBlock->setKeywords($this->getProduct()->getName()); } $description = $this->getProduct()->getMetaDescription(); if ($description) { if($storeId == 2){ $description = "Pool Supplies Fast - ". $this->getProduct()->getName() . " - " . $description; $headBlock->setDescription( ($description) ); }else{ $headBlock->setDescription( ($description) ); } } else { if($storeId == 2){ $description = "Pool Supplies Fast: ". $this->getProduct()->getName() . " - " . $this->getProduct()->getDescription(); $headBlock->setDescription( ($description) ); }else{ $headBlock->setDescription( $this->getProduct()->getDescription() ); } } } return Mage_Catalog_Block_Product_Abstract::_prepareLayout(); } This executs fine but then I notice that the following class Mage_Review_Block_Product_View_List extends which extends Mage_Review_Block_Product_View and that extends Mage_Catalog_Block_Product_View as well. Inside this class they call the _prepareLayout as well and call the parent with parent::_prepareLayout() class Mage_Review_Block_Product_View_List extends Mage_Review_Block_Product_View protected function _prepareLayout() { parent::_prepareLayout(); if ($toolbar = $this->getLayout()->getBlock('product_review_list.toolbar')) { $toolbar->setCollection($this->getReviewsCollection()); $this->setChild('toolbar', $toolbar); } return $this; } So obviously this just calls the same class I am extending and runs the function I am overiding but it doesn't get to my class because it is not in my class hierarchy and since it gets called after my class all the stuff in the parent class override what I have set. I'm not sure about the best way to extend this type of class and method, there has to be a good way to do this, I keep finding I am running into issues when trying to overide these prepare methods that are derived from the abstract classes, there seems to be so many classes overriding them and calling parent::method. What is the best way to override these functions?

Click here for a two-page printable conference overview (PDF). Big Data with CEP and SOA - September 25, 2012 - 14:15 Speaker: Markus Zirn, Oracle and Baz Kuthi, Avocent The "Big Data" trend is driving new kinds of IT projects that process machine-generated data. Such projects store and mine using Hadoop/ Map Reduce, but they also analyze streaming data via event-driven patterns, which can be called "Fast Data" complementary to "Big Data". This session highlights how "Big Data" and "Fast Data" design patterns can be combined with SOA design principles into modern, event-driven architectures. We will describe specific architectures that combines CEP, Distributed Caching, Event-driven Network, SOA Composites, Application Development Framework, as well as Hadoop. Architecture patterns include pre-processing and filtering event streams as close as possible to the event source, in memory master data for event pattern matching, event-driven user interfaces as well as distributed event processing. Focus is on how "Fast Data" requirements are elegantly integrated into a traditional SOA architecture. Markus Zirn is Vice President of Product Management covering Oracle SOA Suite, SOA Governance, Application Integration Architecture, BPM, BPM Solutions, Complex Event Processing and UPK, an end user learning solution. He is the author of “The BPEL Cookbook” (rated best book on Services Oriented Architecture in 2007) as well as “Fusion Middleware Patterns”. • Dynamic vertical menu for Wordpress

    - by buttonstack
    Does anyone know how to achieve a dynamic multi-level page menu for Wordpress? I have found a couple scripts but none of them put the subpages directly under the parent page or some will show every subpage to the entire menu Example: page1 (selected) –subpage1-1 –subpage1-2 page2 page3 This code comes close by inserting the subpages directly under, but it doesn't hide the subpages to the other pages. <?php if($post->post_parent) { $children = preg_replace('@\<li([^>^]*)>\<a([^>^]*)>(.*?)\<\/a>@i','<li$1><a$2>$3',wp_list_pages('title_li=&amp;amp;child_of='.$post->post_parent.'&amp;amp;echo=0&amp;amp;depth=1')); } else { $children = preg_replace('@\<li([^>^]*)>\<a([^>^]*)>(.*?)\<\/a>@i','<li$1><a$2>$3',wp_list_pages('title_li=&amp;amp;child_of='.$post->ID.'&amp;amp;echo=0&amp;amp;depth=1')); } if($children) { echo"
\n". $children ."
\n"; } ?>

  • Why should main() be short?

    - by Stargazer712
    I've been programming for over 9 years, and according to the advice of my first programming teacher, I always keep my main() function extremely short. At first I had no idea why. I just obeyed without understanding, much to the delight of my professors. After gaining experience, I realized that if I designed my code correctly, having a short main() function just sortof happened. Writing modularized code and following the single responsibility principle allowed my code to be designed in "bunches", and main() served as nothing more than a catalyst to get the program running. Fast forward to a few weeks ago, I was looking at Python's souce code, and I found the main() function: /* Minimal main program -- everything is loaded from the library */ ... int main(int argc, char **argv) { ... return Py_Main(argc, argv); } Yay Python. Short main() function == Good code. Programming teachers were right. Wanting to look deeper, I took a look at Py_Main. It seems as though Python did the "Intro to Programming 101" trick and just moved all of main()'s code to a different function called it something very similar to "main". Here's my question: Is this code terribly written, or are there other reasons reasons to have a short main function? As it stands right now, I see absolutely no difference between doing this and just moving the code in Py_Main() back into main(). Am I wrong in thinking this?

It seems as though Python did the "Intro to Programming 101" trick and just moved all of main()'s code to a different function called it something very similar to "main". Here's my question: Is this code terribly written, or are there other reasons to have a short main function? As it stands right now, I see absolutely no difference between doing this and just moving the code in Py_Main() back into main(). Am I wrong in thinking this?

  • The State of the Internet -- Retail Edition

    - by David Dorf
    Over at Business Insider, there's a great presentation on the State of the Internet done in the Mary Meeker style. Its 138 slides so I took the liberty of condensing it down to the 15 slides that directly apply to the retail industry. However, I strongly recommend looking at the entire deck when you have time. And while you're at it, Business Insider just launched a retail portal that's dedicated to retail industry content. Please check it out as well. My take-aways are below after the slide show. &amp;lt;span id=&amp;quot;XinhaEditingPostion&amp;quot;&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/span&amp;gt; [Source: Business Insider] Here are a few things I took away from the statistics: Facebook and Twitter are in their infancy. While all retailers should have social programs, search is still the driver and therefore should receive the lions share of investment. Facebook referrals are up 92% year-over-year, but Google still does 80% of the referrals. E-commerce continues to grow at breakneck speed, but in-store commerce is still king. Stores are not showrooms yet. And social commerce pure-plays like Gilt and Groupon are tiny but worthy of some attention. There are more smartphones than PCs on the internet, and the disparity will continue to grow. PC growth will be flat and Tablet use will continue to grow. Mobile accounts for 12% of all internet traffic. A quarter of smartphone sales come from China, so anyone with a presence there better have a strong mobile strategy. 38% of people have used their smartphone to make a purchase, and many use their smartphones inside stores. Smartphones are a critical consumer tool for shopping. Mobile is starting to drive significant traffic to e-commerce sites, especially tablets. Tablet strategies are crucial for retailers. Mobile payments from the likes of Paypal and Square are growing quickly. It will be interesting to see how NFC plays in this area. Mobile operating systems are losing market share to iOS and Android. I wonder in Microsoft can finally make a dent? The internet is being dominated by mobile devices, and retailers had better have a strong mobile strategy to meet consumer demand.

  • Do any JS implementations currently support (or have support on the roadmap for) fast, vectorized op

    - by agnoster
    I'd like to do a bit of matrix/vector arithmetic in JavaScript, and was wondering if any browsers or other JS implementations actually have support for vectorized operations, for instance for quickly summing the entries of two Arrays (or summing, or whatever). Even if that currently doesn't mean it compiles down to vectorized operations, at least some language support would be nice for when it does get implemented - I'd take the existence of functions or syntax to support it as a step in the right direction. (Understandably, "vectorization javascript" searches are pretty much all about graphics and SVG.)

  • OpenID: Trying to Get Email Address from Google OP

    - by Zaff
    I’m using dotnetopenauth 3.2 to implement Openid and can’t figure out how to get Google to pass the email address in the Claims Response. I know that Google doesn’t support simple registration, but I can’t determine what they do support. Caveat to this question is that I just started learning OpenID and I know I don’t have a solid grasp on the specification which I think is leading to my confusion. Any help would be appreciated!
