  • Open a popup window from Silverlight

    Silverlight has a method called HtmlPage.PopupWindow() that opens new web browser window with a specific page. You can find this method in the namespace System.Windows.Browser. If you haven’t in your project, add a reference to System.Windows.Browser. The method HtmlPage.PopupWindow() has three parameters: Uri – location to browse String – the target window HtmlPopupWindowOptions – a class with the window options (full list of properties http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.windows.browser.htmlpopupwindowoptions(v=vs.95).aspx) For a security reason of Silverlight the call to HtmlPage.PopupWindow() is allowed through any user input like a button, hyperlink, etc. The code is very simple: var options = new HtmlPopupWindowOptions {Left = 0, Top = 0, Width = 800, Height = 600}; if (HtmlPage.IsPopupWindowAllowed) HtmlPage.PopupWindow(new Uri("http://geekswithblogs.net/"), "new", options); The property IsPopupWindowAllowed is used to check whether the window is enabled to open popup.

  • Admob ads will not display when placed inside a tabview

    I've been trying to get my ads to display in this type of layout. Tabs - LinearLayout - ListView - header. The header is set via addHeaderView and is displaying normally. If I were to move the ads anywhere else they display normally (so its not a setup issue). Using ads in the header of a listview works fine in my other projects. So this seems to be a very specific problem, the ads simply refuse to display when placed in the header of a listview inside a tabhost. My logs show no activity from admob at all. There is either a bug here or limitation of the sdk. Does anyone have any experience or insight into this issue? EDIT I found the solution. It actually had to do with padding that was in the root of my Tabview. For more checkout my answer here

  • Bypassing Browser popup blocking when automatic session timout occurs

    Hi all, Please help regarding the following issue. I have enabled the "Block popup" option in browser. We are doing a session validation using a background ajax call to check the session is active or not. If the session is not active for a desired interval a popup window will come for notification. Now comming to the problem . since the session notification popup is comming automatically without any client interaction, This popup is blocked by the browser. But if a client clicks anyother popup window in the form that popup window will not be blocked by the browser.

  • How do you print from a popup window in javascript?

    I have a .Net application that dynamically creates a small HTML page and pops it up in a new window using the javascript document.open method. Everything with that functionality is working fine. Now I want to add a button to the HTML page that prints the page. I have tried using the following code to no avail: <a href='print.html' onClick='window.print();return false;'> <img src='images/printer.png' height='32px' width='32px'></a> When the button is clicked in the popup window, nothing happens. But when the source code of of this page is saved and loaded in a browser as a separate page, the print button works perfectly. So it would appear that the problem is caused by the fact that the code is in a popup window. Does anyone know a way to fix this problem or any alternatives? EDIT: Other method that I have tried with the same results: <input type='button' onclick='window.print()' value='Print' /> and <a href='javascript:window.print()'> <img src='images/printer.png' height='32px' width='32px'></a>

As you can see I allow user to select multiple Items. I want to open on Submit button click as many popup windows as many Items he selected in a list. Each popUp window should open some url like www.example.com/test.php?id=OPTION_SELECTED . So for each of the selected options I ll get a pop up window whith different url. Please Help.

  • Advertising on personalized pages behind a login

    I am currently building a web app which requires a user to log in. After they log in, they can see the content they've added to the web app, and things that the web app has done with the content they added. The URL structure won't differentiate different users (e.g. all user's 'homepage' would be example.com/home, not something like example.com/username/home). This is much the same way that Facebook works (all FB user's messages are at facebook.com/messages, for example). This presents a problem with advertising. I know that you can use AdSense behind a login, but as far as I'm aware, that's for things like forums, where everyone sees the same things (which wouldn't be the case in this site). I also know that I could put AdSense on the pages without allowing it to log in, which would produce inferior ads. I'm fairly certain it would be against the Terms of Service to give AdSense a login to a 'dummy' account with typical content, as it would not be seeing the same thing as every other user (which is impossible, as they all see different things). So, my question is: Is there an ad network, or other method, that can serve ads behind a login, maybe based on keywords rather than content?

  • Big square ads appear in lower right corner of both IE and Chrome

    In both IE and Chrome, large ads appear in the lower right corner of the browser window. Sometime they look reputable like for Microsoft, but sometimes they are big flashing boxes that say "You have won". Right now I am looking at "Need to lose 30 lbs?" I ran Microsofot Security Essentials and it didn't find anything. I then ran Windows Defender Offline (boot from CD). WDO found five things lincluding browser hijack that caused the wrong page to appear after clicking a link. It reported that it cleaned successfully, after which I ran a quick scan to confirm. After rebooting I still see the ads. Do I still have an infection? Any other tools to try? What about ComboFix? Thanks Update: Here's a screenshot - on superuser

  • Stretch in multiple components using af:popup, af:region, af:panelTabbed

    Case study: I have a pop-up(dialogue) that contains a region(separate taskflow) showing a tab. The contents of this tab is in a region having a separate taskflow. The jsff page of this taskflow contains a panelSplitter which in turn contains a table. In short the components are : pop-up(dialogue) --> region(separate taskflow) --> tab --> region(separate taskflow) --> panelSplitter --> table At times the tab is not displayed with 100% width or the table in panelSplitter is not 100% visible or the splitter is not visible. Maintaining the stretch for all the components is difficult......not any more!!! Below is the solution that you can make use of in many similar scenarios. I am mentioning the major code snippets affecting the stretch and alignment. pop-up: <af:popup> <af:dialog id="d2" type="none" title="" inlineStyle="width:1200px"> <af:region value="#{bindings.PriceChangePopupFlow1.regionModel}" id="r1"/> </af:dialog> The above region is a jsff containing multiple tabs. I am showing code for a single tab. I kept the tab in a panelStretchLayout. <af:panelStretchLayout id="psl1" topHeight="300px" styleClass="AFStretchWidth"> <af:panelTabbed id="pt1"> <af:showDetailItem text="PO Details" id="sdi1" stretchChildren="first" > <af:region value="#{bindings.PriceChangePurchaseOrderFlow1.regionModel}" id="r1" binding="# {pageFlowScope.priceChangePopupBean.poDetailsRegion}" /> This "region" displays a .jsff containing a table in a panelSplitter. <af:panelSplitter id="ps1"  orientation="horizontal" splitterPosition="700"> <f:facet name="first"> <af:panelHeader text="PurchaseOrder" id="ph1"> <af:table id="md1" rows="#{bindings.PurchaseOrderVO.rangeSize}" That's it!!! We're done... Note the stretchChildren="first" attribute in the af:showDetailItem. That does the trick for us. Oracle docs say the following about stretchChildren :  Valid Values: none, first The stretching behavior for children. Acceptable values include: "none": does not attempt to stretch any children (the default value and the value you need to use if you have more than a single child; also the value you need to use if the child does not support being stretched) "first": stretches the first child (not to be used if you have multiple children as such usage will produce unreliable results; also not to be used if the child does not support being stretched)

  • Can't create a fullscreen WPF popup

    Using WPF .NET 4.0 in VS2010 RTM: I can't create a fullscreen WPF popup. If I create a popup that is sized 50% width and 100% height everything works fine, but if I try to create a "full screen" popup sized to 100% width and height it ends up displaying at 100% width and 75% height... the bottom is truncated. Note: The width and height are actually being expressed in pixels in code, I'm using percent to make the situation a little more understandable... It "feels" like there is some sort of limit preventing the area of a popup from exceeding ~75% of the total area of the screen. So Given a list of companies, each wrapped in an tag. When the cursor hovers over an tag Then a "pop-up" appears that contains an -based, dynamic content. Given the pop-up When the User clicks on the "submit" button in the pop-up Then the form (based on the framework" is submitted and ajax displays "request succesful" So, because I am using a php-framework, I'd like to use iframe to contain the form. Some challenges: When the cursor is no longer hovering over the tag, the hover disappears. How do I keep it operating? How do I make it appear in an so I can have full form-submission and POST-ing dynamic values through the URL? How do the "popup" disappear when the cursor is no longer on either the -tag or the pop-up itself? Can I do it without loading a bunch of 's onto the page, because the list of companies could be long.

However, I have found a failure mode in Firefox that I don't know how to deal with: If for some reason the user has opened a second tab in the pop-up window and that second tab has focus within that window, the popupWindow.focus() command fails to have any effect. (If the first tab has focus within that window, everything works just great.)     I'm working on a Google Chrome Extension and would like to get an HTML from within my popup HTML to call functions within my loaded javascript file. My manifest follows: { "name": "Extension", "version": "1.0", "description": "Extension", "browser_action": { "default_icon": "icon.png", "default_title": "Ext", "popup": "popup.html" }, "content_scripts": [{ "matches": ["http://*/*"], "css": ["ext.css"], "js": ["jquery.js","scripts.js"] }], "permissions": [ "http://*/*" ] } As you can see I'm loading in a local copy of jQuery, along with another javascript file for my own personal logic. My popup document looks like this: <select id="values"> <option>Foo</option> <option>Bar</option> </select> And the contents of my scripts.js file follow: $(function(){ $("#values").change(function(){ alert("Foo"); }); }); This isn't doing what I expect though - alerting "Foo" anytime I change a value in my popup HTML. How can I get these two files to communicate with eachother? Or can they at all?

    After trialling Empathy which was included with Gnome/Ubuntu 10.04 I decided to go back to Kopete since I was losing chat messages. However, for some reason, Kopete is now displaying all popups in a big, ugly window with four options (ok, cancel, view, ignore, or something like that) that actually all seem to do nothing. I tried looking for options in Kopete to change the popup style to the nicer Gnome style one which goes up in the top-right of my desktop, but it doesn't seem to be possible with this release. So I had to resort to removing all popup messages from Kopete to prevent my screen being taking over by a popup requiring action for every incoming chat message. Unfortunately, this now means that I do not get any notifications when people message me - and so I can go a couple of hours without realising that they did. Anyone know how to get the nice, unobtrusive popups working in this version?
