• updater stuck on downloading python files

  However i am a java programmer is consider myself as a linux noob. So i could use a little help here... I am trying to update my ubuntu from version 10.04 to 12.04.1 (LTS). The downloading start and runs at around 10MB/s untill i am somewhere near 26% and the speed just drops to 0. I figured i could use the command "do-release-update" so i could see what it was doing. Again the same occured: the downloading stucked on 26% at "http://nl.archive.ubuntu.com/ubunutu/ precise/main python-qt4 1386 4.9.1-2ubuntu1". It says it downloaded 41% of that file/package. It also tries another wget on the same file every X seconds. Help? Greetings Tim, Holland.

• Part of the launcher has been cut off, Ubuntu 12.04

  After a hard drive failure on my iMac, I replaced it and installed Ubuntu. So far, I am finding it very easy to use, however there is one problem which is making it much harder. The bottom of the launcher is missing - it is 'covered' by the desktop background. This means that I cant see the trash, or bottom few icons. Even if I scroll, it doesn't show it. Any help is very much appreciated. If you send a message to [email protected], with the subject "launcher photo", I will send you an email with the photo of the missing part attached. Currently, my only fix is to enable and then disable the extra screen it thinks is there - called unknown device

• Events in Classes (VB.NET)

  I find that I write a lot of code within my classes to keep properties in sync with each other. I've read about Events in Classes, but have not been able to wrap my head around how to make them work for what I'm looking for. I could use some advice here. For example, in this one I always want to keep myColor up to date with any change whatsoever in any or all of the Red, Green or Blue properties. Class myColors Private Property Red As Byte Private Property Green As Byte Private Property Blue As Byte Private Property myColor As Color Sub New() myColor = Color.FromArgb(0, 0, 0) End Sub Sub ChangeRed(ByVal r As Byte) Red = r myColor = Color.FromArgb(Red, Green, Blue) End Sub Sub ChangeBlue(ByVal b As Byte) Blue = b myColor = Color.FromArgb(Red, Green, Blue) End Sub End Class If one or more of those changes, I want myColor to be updated. Easy enough as above, but is there a way to work with events that would automatically do this so I don't have to put myColor = Color.FromArgb(Red, Green, Blue) in every sub routine?

The reason why I am asking for help now is that I don't have a clue why my newly added accordion(s) do not expand upon being clicked. I've got a feeling it may be due to the newly added code as I was having problems using my code in the file so instead I looked at the source and copied the accordion level to be used and all appears to look fine apart from them not expanding. • On-line Based Conferencing For Admin Panel

  Working on my admin panels work station section which will allow the admin to use simple office tools such as word editors, calculators and whatnot. Under this section of the admin panel, I would like to add a conferencing feature which will allow any administrator to connect with another administrator 1-2-1 under the 1-2-1 Conferencing section, or to join a meeting under 'live meeting' section. Upon my search for on-line based, I found there are all these, what seem to be great applications out there, however not all of them are on-line based, and come with a price! I would like to a purely on-line based conferencing/meeting/1-2-1 feature which will allow administrators to communicate via text or sound, stream their video, share their screen and sending of files. I know this sounds like a big feature, and I am not asking for someone to answer by programming one for my website! Does anyone know my best solution to progress to having this feature on my website, any tutorials or free to use, free to modify web plugins? Thank you for your help, Best Regards, Tim

This actions drop down I would like to have an action to 'Enable Editing'. Upon clicking to enable editing, I would like a PHP variable modified from 'EnableEditing = false' to 'EnableEditing = true'. Why I would like to use PHP maybe questionable, here is why I would like to use PHP under my understanding to clarify; Sections on my page will show to different administrators depending on their level. Upon enabling editing mode, certain contents will then dynamically. <?php if ($_SESSION['user_level_status'] < 2) { if ($editing = enabled) { show this } else { show this } } ?> Something similar to this, I'm new at PHP so this may look incorrect. • Access to File being restricted after Ubuntu crashed

  My Ubuntu 8.10 crashed due to the overheating problem of the CPU when I am opening some directory and intend to do some file transfer under Nautilus. After reboot, under gnome, all the files cannot be removed, their properties cannot be viewed and they can only be opened, although all are still fine under terminal. I was wondering why is that and how can I fix it? However, it has also highlighted some random spans above and below it that don't have the same class! Only the span's with the same Class as the one where the mouse is over should be highlighted green. In this screenshot, only that middle green section should be green. I've tried getting that value in so many ways and it never works. float originalHue = [self getHue:original]; results in a building error, as it says: "incompatible types in initialization" float *originalHue = [self getHue:original]; results in a null return. • BUILD 2013 Session&ndash;What&rsquo;s New In XAML

There were a number of improvements that struck me.  The first was the fact that we no longer need to put stack panels in the AppBar in order to add buttons.  This has been changed to a CommandBar which at the very least makes the markup read more cleanly.  Now if they would just bring this same improvement to Windows Phone we would be set. There was a lot of cheering at the beginning of his talk when he showed that there are now date time pickers.  I understand that it makes life easier, but I just couldn’t get that excited. The couple of features that did grab my attention being able to select a group of tags and then add an encapsulating tag such as a StackPanel around them and the fact that they have optimized XAML so that now runs on average 25% faster. If I selected it in the startup options, I got a plain light blue screen with absolutely nothing on it. If I tried to start it using "gnome-shell --replace", I got: gnome-shell --replace & [2] 3251 tim@nattytest:/usr/lib$ Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/gnome-shell", line 705, in normal_exit = run_shell() File "/usr/bin/gnome-shell", line 293, in run_shell if shell is None: UnboundLocalError: local variable 'shell' referenced before assignment /usr/bin/compiz (core) - Error: Screen 0 on display ":0.0" already has a window manager; try using the --replace option to replace the current window manager. [2]+ Exit 1 gnome-shell --replace I also tried preceding that with metacity --replace, as suggested at ubuntuforums.com. But, I got the same failure. • Dichroic Glass in Blender

  I am trying to use blender to simulate the Lycurgus Cup. The cup is an example of dichroic (two-color) glass, and appears green when a light source is on the outside of the cup, and appears red when a light source is inside the cup. Here is an image of when light is outside and it appears green: Here is an image of when light is inside and it appears red: I have created a glass cup in blender. I have made the glass a red color, and then used the colorbands under the Object-Material/Shading-Ramps tab to add green specular and diffuse color. However, this makes the glass appear the same mix of red and green whether I put the light source on the inside or outside the cup. An example can be seen here: According to the second post here, someone was able to to fake the effect of a dichroic glass in blender rather easily through the use of a magic procedural texture but they provide no clues on how to do this (in blender). Does anyone know how to achieve this effect in blender?

  hoping someone can help me with a problem here. I'm attempting to setup a test (loan from Cisco) wireless network. Here's what i've got/done: 5508 Controller - Service Port IP set to 10.74.5.2 /24. Management IP set to 10.74.6.2 /24 with a default gateway of 10.74.6.1. Virtual IP set to 1.1.1.1. Copper SFP in slot 7, CAT5 (known good) going from there to port 1/0/47 on the switch. Green lights on both ends. 2960-S Switch - Vlan1 - 10.74.6.1 /24. dhcp pool 10.74.6.0 /24, default router 10.74.6.1. excluded-address 10.74.6.1, 10.74.6.2. 1/0/4 on the switch is set to switchport mode access and no shut. 1/0/47 on the switch is setup to switchport mode trunk and no shut. 1/0/4 has a CAT5 (known good) cable going from there to the AP. When I do a sh cdp nei from the switch, i can see the AP and Controller listed. When i configure my PC's nic to 10.74.5.5, and plug a cable from my nic to the SP port on the controller i can get on the device via the gui. In there, the only errors/info that show up in the trap are: Link Up: Slot: 0 Port: 7 Controller time base status - Controller is out of sync with the central timebase. I've manually set the time but apparently that's not quite the problem (or at least not the entire problem). When i plug the AP in, i see on the switch console that it grants it power, it sees it connect...but the controller won't see it for some reason. From what i've read you shouldn't have to do anything to the AP as it's managed by the controller...but i'm not sure what setting I'm missing for it to work. The AP light on top is continually cycling green, red, yellow. When I first start it up, it blinks green for 20 or so seconds, then goes to solid green for another 20 seconds or so, then flashes blue, green, red for awhile...but always ends up goinn back to the standard, green, red, yellow. Does anyone see any obvious issues with my setup or have any suggestions as to why i might be having a problem? Thanks for your help!

• Use Excel Color Scale Formatting with Text

  I use Excel sheets to track the status of tasks through a set of discrete statuses. I'd like to be able to format these automatically, with the start being red, the end being green and progressing through the combination colors in the middle. Status1 (Red) Status2 (More Red than Green) Status3 (More Green than Red) Status4 (Green) The "Color Scales" option under Conditional Formatting seems like it could be made to work, but it wants numbers. So, my question, can it be done? Using conditional formatting or other formulas to achieve the desired affect?

• HP ML150 G6 upgrading RAM/CPU beyond specs?

  I am being told that some limits on some HP servers can be crossed. Do any of you have any experience with that? A ML150/G6 is limited to 48GB RAM but I have been talking to a German company that guaranties me that this server will be able to be upgraded to 384GB RAM (using 32GB memory modules and 2 CPUs) http://www.compuram.de/en/memory,HP+%28-Compaq%29,Server,Proliant,ML150+G6.htm Can this really be true? The server that I have is using E5504 CPUs but will I be able to upgrade to any CPU that is using a LGA1366 socket? All from a low wattage L5640 all the way to the 6 core, high wattage versions like an X5650? (If cooling and power is adequate ofcause). • Gimp: change one colour to another?

  Simple to explain: possibly not so simple to do. In Gimp, I have a green button GIF image: it shades from dark green to light green, against a transparent background. I would like to change it to blue, and keep the shading, so it shades from dark blue to light blue. Anyone know how I can do this? Can't find an explanation by Googling! Thanks.
