  • How to Validate Pasted Dates in Excel

    I want to validate pasted dates to remove /'s and ensure the year is 4 digits and when users paste them in it overwrites my excel validation. So, If a user pastes 05/19/10 into a cell, I would like it to convert to 05192010 or at least give an error if this is not possible. I don't know enough VB to add sheet-wide code that does this and I'm not sure if it would work when users paste multiple cells at a time.

    I have a standard html form where the user can specify a website/domain: favourite website: [ ] I expect the user to type things like: [www.google.com] [www.yahoo.com] [www.example.co.jp] I want to validate the domain/site via javascript so if a user had typed something wrong: [www...google.com] [www.-example.com] I tell them straight away.     Hello, I have a model with nested attributes : class Foo < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :bar accepts_nested_attributes_for :bar end It works fine. However I'd want to be sure that for every Foo, I have at least two Bar. I can't access the bar_attributes in my validations so it seems I can't validate it. Is there any clean way to do so ?

  • RequiredFieldValidator to validate a disabled textBox

    Hi guys, I've got a TextBox in which user can input a their desired username. Underneath I've got a checkbox that once clicked it copies the user's email adress into the textfield and then disable it to prevent further changes. This feature is implemented by using jQuery. The problem is that I've got a RequiredFieldValidator on that TextBox and it looks like it can't validate a disabled textfield, even if the value is set. How can I solve this?

    I have a small JavaScript validation script that validates inputs based on Regex. I want to allow certain characters that are not exactly common (not sure if they're UTF8). For example I want to allow the following character ’, which looks like a single quote, but isn't. I got the HTML code for this which is &#8217;, but I'm not sure how to put this into the Regex. I've tried just inputting [&#8217]* but it doesn't validate.

    I realize there's the W3C validator, which works great for one page. There's also the perl install they provide, but it seems to not work on a Mac or it's buggy. Given that 1) I have an entire set of local files How do I a) Validate the entire set b) do it behind a firewall c) do it simply without installing anything on my computer? (i.e., is there a web service?) Or is this just futile?

    Hello, I'm building a shopping cart and I would like to use a JavaScript function to validate user input when entering the quantity value in the quantity text input. I would like to allow the entering of integer values only (no floats, no other characters). I know that I can apply this function using onKeyUp event and also I found isNaN() function, but it returns true even for floats (which is not ok). Can you guys help me out with this one? Thanks.

    Hi, I've been using C# for a while and began a program now to learn WPF-which means I know almost nothing of it. I used this tutorial as a guide to do what I wanted to do (which is binding a database to a datagrid), after a hard struggle to add the adapter as the source of the datagrid I now want to enable editing with validation on some of the cells. My problem is that the data is sent straight from the adapter and not through an object collection (I had a hard time getting to this situation, see the first half of the tutorial on how to bind the adapter and dataset through the resources) but the tutorial doesn't show a way to validate the datagrid if the data is sent through an adapter-only through a collection. To make it clear-how do I validate input in a datagrid that is bound to an adapter through a resource?   • Symfony2: validate an object that is not an entity

    I am using CraueFormFlowBundle to have a multiple page form, and am trying to do some validation on some of the fields but can't figure out how to do this. The object that needs to be validated isn't an Entity, which is causing me trouble. I tried adding a collectionConstraint in the getDefaultOption function of my form type class, but this doesn't work as I get the "Expected argument of type array or Traversable and ArrayAccess" error. I tried with annotations in my object class, but they don't seem to be taken into account. Are annotations taken into account if the class isn't an entity? (i set enable_annotations to true) Anyway, what is the proper way to do this?
