I'm following this tutorial for a project at work, and I was wondering if there is a way to create several lines on the same graph? At the moment I can;t do this without moving the other line along.
So i have had a little hunt online about creating custom Facebook like buttons and custom twitter follow button but not really found a solution so thought i would ask here and see if anyone knows of a solution for this (currently i have coded some jQuery to get Facebook and Twitter counts using JSON which works but want some custom buttons as per below)
I have the count working all ok, just need to tackle the like and follow buttons - it is done in jquery at the moment so would like to continue to use that if this has to be done via that.
at the moment i use the API for each to get the count, if i can integrate into the current js i have to get the calls / functions i require would be good:
// grab from facebook
var facebook = $.getJSON('https://graph.facebook.com/'+f_page+'?callback=?', function(data) {
fb_count = data['likes'].toString();
fb_count_gt = data['likes'].toString();
fb_count = add_commas(fb_count);
$('#fb_count').html(fb_count);
});
// grab from twitter
var twitter = $.getJSON("https://twitter.com/users/"+t_page+".json?callback=?",function(data) {
twit_count = data['followers_count'].toString();
twit_count_gt = data['followers_count'].toString();
twit_count = add_commas(twit_count);
$('#twitter_count').html(twit_count);
});
Thanks in advance!
Hi,
i have this page:

Hello:
I've been looking around for different methods of providing plug-in support for my application. Ideally, I will be creating a core functionality and based on different customers developing different plug-ins/addons such as importing, exporting data etc... What are the some methods available for making a C# application extensible via a plug-in architecture?
Lets make up an example. If we have a program that consists of a main menu ( File, Edit, View, et al. ) along with a TreeView that displays different brands of cars grouped by manufacturer ( Ford, GM, for now). Right clicking on a car displays a context menu with the only option being 'delete car'.
How could you develop the application so that plug-ins could be deployed so that you could allow one customer to see a new brand in the TreeView, let's say Honda, and also extent the car context menu so that they may now 'paint a car'?
In Eclipse/RCP development this is easily handled by extension points and plug-ins. How does C# handle it? I've been looking into developing my own plug-in architecture and reading up on MEF.
hi,
I don't understand why I have this blue border around the links images in my page.
I've set outline:none border:0 but still it is there (only in Firefox and IE)... it is very strange.

Hello,
I need to change language of validation error to another language. Validation logic must not be changed.
I just want to translate The field f5080eb8_0a83_4b89_b339_233528441711 must be a valid integer. into another language. For example from English into Italian.
I search in my project for this text, result=0. So, what is the best way to translate validation error text into another language?
Some ideas,
thanks!
Just curious...
I have a project where people can input their cooking recipes. I would like to build a webform that will have a textfield and when it is filled in a new textfield appears below. A "growing textfield list". Let me try to show it here:
Ingredient #1 _________________________________ [add]
When you type and ingredient click "add" you then are going to see:
Ingredient #1 Potatoes_________________________
Ingredient #2 _________________________________ [add]
Sorry for not knowing the proper markup. However if anyone knows:
a) the proper term for this ( I call a growing textfield list )?
b) how to do it with webform in drupal?
I have used this effect before, everything is in order (As far as I see), but it's just not working. What have I missed?

Thanks.
I have a created a 3 circle venn diagram using pure CSS3 and each circle has a :hover event attached to it. I also have an image of an arrow which is pointing to the center of the venn diagram. I want the arrow to visually appear to be on top of the circles, so I put the z-index higher on the arrow than the circles.
The problem now, is that the :hover event does not trigger on half of the venn diagram now because the arrow image is on top, which causes the hover to be on top of the arrow rather than the circle that I want it to be over. So is it possible to make an element have a high z-index visually but not programmatically?
I've noticed many sites are able to use a username or page title as an action. How is this done?
For example instead of www.example.com/users/my_username (where the users action is generic and responsible for fetching user data) how could I make this www.example.com/my_username?
Thanks very much.
I'm trying to find a good way to collect the names of classes defined in the stylesheets included with a given document. I know about document.StyleSheetList but it doesn't seem like it'd be easy to parse. What I'm looking for is something like, for a stylesheet document such as:
.my_class {
background: #fff000;
}
.second_class {
color: #000000;
}
I could extract an array like ["my_class", "second_class"]. This obviously assumes the favorable scenario of a fully loaded dom and stylesheets.
I've been looking everywhere for a good way to do something like this and so far, have made little progress. Does anyone have any idea about how to pull this off? Thanks!
I'm trying to figure out why the text in the left navigation panel on the following page is shrinking & underlining when you mouseover in Firefox.
http://fundcentre.newireland.ie/
Everything on the left & top is part of a wrapper that we inject our content into. Our content is everything from "FUND CENTRE" down.
Can someone suggest something I could do to sort this issue out? Thanks.
I have images being dynamically added to a page, I don't seem to be able to get the 'load' event working dynamically with live().
This is the code I currently have:
$('#largeImg' + nextUniqueItemID).hide();
$('#largeImg' + nextUniqueItemID).live('load' , function() {
$('#loader' + nextUniqueItemID).hide();
$('#largeImg' + nextUniqueItemID).show();
});
with '#largeImg' + nextUniqueItemID being an image that was added to the page earlier in the function and '#largeImg' + nextUniqueItemID being a loading image.
I feel as if I may be misusing "live" as it doesn't really need a listener but to trigger the event immediately.
Let's say I have this to create a multidimensional array dynamically:
int* *grid = new int*[gridSizeX];
for (int i=0; i<gridSizeX; i++) {
grid[i] = new int[gridSizeY];
}
Shouldn't be possible now to access elements like grid[x][y] = 20?
I have a table with dynamic data.
And there is a specific line of text which should be displayed only when a user hovers over the table row. This line of text should be 'fixed' to the table cell's bottom edge.
It works so far with Firefox, but fails in IE.
Live code can be seen here: http://2010resolutions.org/test/index.html
The text in red should be fixed to the table cell's bottom border. (They will have a fixed height and width)
Any clues how to get this working in IE?
Any help is appreciated.
Here's the code:
<style>
table {
width: 500px;
background: gray;
}
td { vertical-align: top; }
.wrapper {
position: relative;
background: green;
}
tr, td, .wrapper {
height: 100%;
padding-bottom: 0.75em;
}
.bottom {
position: absolute;
left: 0;
bottom: 0;
background: red;
}
.bottom { visibility: hidden; }
tr:hover .bottom { visibility: visible; }
</style>
<table>
<tr class="data">
<td>
<div class="wrapper">
This is line 1<br />
This is line 2<br />
This is line 3<br />
<span class="bottom">Bottom line 1</span>
</div>
</td>
<td>
<div class="wrapper">
This is line 4<br />
This is line 5<br />
This is line 6<br />
<span class="bottom">Bottom line 2</span></span>
</div>
</td>
<td>
<div class="wrapper">
This is line 7<br />
This is line 8<br />
This is line 9<br />
This is line 10<br />
This is line 11<br />
This is line 12<br />
<span class="bottom">Bottom line 3</span>
</div>
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td> </td>
<td> </td>
<td> </td>
</tr>
</table>
I'm about to develop my own browser inconsistency/bug compendium site but I'm wondering if I really need to - can we get a wiki of sites that do this already? I'm aware of a lot of them but I hope I'm not missing out on some major ones.
I wanted mine to be more intuitive and social-like for most people, powered by tags and screenshots and test-case pages.
Should we learn all CSS (till version3) even if all browser don't support and we don't use?
Here mentioned http://meiert.com/en/indices/css-properties/ all css properties I don't know about all even in 2.1 , should we learn about each css property of all version even if they are not in use.
like this
in my design both side of div has border like this and content in div can be increased or decreased . and in any condition both side top and bottom should be blur like this.
How to make this possible
Please see pic, this is what I want to do. I am really struggling to bloody do it lol.
The master div, is 600px wide ( blue bg ) and need splitting into two areas, left for the image and right for the text etc.
Ignore the vertical divider line
The left hand div, is approx 200px wide, and need to specify a min-height of 100px, as the placeholder image which is centered to that div 50% 50% will change size, as I will be adding another div like this with larger image placeholder.
The right part contains the header tag, description, button and second description.
I have already constructed this and works fine in chrome and ff, but not in ie. So could you guys have a think, and give me some code that complies in all browsers.
It is officially doing my head in now.
Screenpic of it working in ff and chrome below:
Hello,
I want to place this div at the bottom of the screen, and should stay at the bottom even though there is a scroll, it stays at the bottom, but moves when I scroll.
<div style="color:#FFF; position:absolute; bottom:0px;">
<?php
$time_taken=round(getmicrotime()-$time_start,4);
echo"Generated in ".$time_taken." seconds";
?>
</div>
Thanks
Jean
My website currently has various links to a php script that generates the images dynamically. For example, the link may say "img source="/dynamic_images.php?type=pie-chart&color=red"
Obviously, this is not great for SEO. I'd like to somehow make the filenames of these links appear to be static, and use a solution (like Mod-Rewrite) to ensure that the images can still be dynamically created.
I suppose I could have something like "img src="average-profits-in-scuba-diving-industry.png?type=pie-chart&color=red" (and use Mod-Rewrite to take care of changing the filename prefix to dynamic_images.php), but I'm afraid that the search engines would shy away from the querystring on the end of the image filename.
Any solutions?
Thanks in advance.
I'm pretty new to web development and I am working on our company website. I've thus far been doing all the work in notepad++ but i was wondering if there was something a little more friendly to the eyes for layout and WYSIWYG formatting.
the catch is i have basically no budget so anything like dreamweaver (which i heard is not the best application for tis anyway ) is out.
any suggestions or hints would be greatly appreciated
Hi,
I would like to create a web based regional map that would enable the user to click in order to choose a region on the map, and will also have some visual effect (resizing, etc) when hovering over one of the regions.
I want the map to work on desktops and mobile devices.
I'm having doubts regarding the best technology to use here when I'm mainly considering traditional image maps vs.SVG.
Image map are more widely supported, but any animation that effects only a single area in the map must be hacked over. SVG is a more natural fit, but is not supported by Android (old IEs can work using svgweb)
Any advice? Any other option I'm overlooking?
