• iphone - passing an object on an UIToolbarButton action

  Is that possible to make a UIToolbarButton pass an object to its target by using some exoteric method (as it seems not to be possible using regular button use)? I mean something like UIBarButtonItem *Button = [[UIBarButtonItem alloc] initWithImage:buttonImage style:UIBarButtonItemStylePlain target:self action:@selector(doSomething:) **withObject:usingThis**]; I know I can trigger a method that will launch the full method with the object, but for the sake of elegance I was trying to minimize the code... I suspect it is not possible, but as you guys out there are insanely good you may come with an transcendental answer... who knows...

• CreateChildControls AFTER Postback

  I'm creating my own CompositeControl: a collection of MyLineWebControl and a "add" button. When the user press the "add" button, a new MyLineWebControl is added. In CreateChildControls(), I run through my model (some object MyGridOfLines which has a collection of MyLine) and add one MyLineWebControl for each MyLine. In addButton.Click, I add a new MyLine to my object MyGridOfLines. But, since the Click event method is called after CreateChildControls(), the new MyLineWebControl will be only displayed on the next postback. What can I do to "redraw" immediately my control, without loosing values that I've entered in each input?

• Can't get my head around background workers in .NET

  I have wrote an application that syncs two folders together. The problem with the program is that it stops responding whilst copying files. A quick search of stack-overflow told me I need to use something called a background worker. I have read a few pages on the net about this but find it really hard to understand as I'm pretty new to programming. Below is the code for my application - how can I simply put all of the File.Copy(....) commands into their own background worker (if that's even how it works)?   In the iPhone Objective-C app, I want to pop-up a window (which is smaller than the main view, and the app does not stop running) when a button is tapped, with textField for the user to input text, and dismiss it when it is done. This is widely used but I really cannot google the relevant content out. What view should I use to connect it with the button? AlertView (which seems you cannot add dialogue in), ModalView?   Hi Guys, Basically I'm developing a (very) simple search engine. You can enter a search term and you are taken to the results page - which works fine. However on the results page, I have a button that will take you to the next 10 results: where $term is the $_POST['term'] value. echo "<input type='hidden' name='term' value='" . $term . "'>"; This causes the following problem with the term is for example "aidan's". When the next 10 button is clicked, the term becomes aidan\ and no further results are found. I am not doing anything to $term. I usually use Java, but am required to use PHP for this uni assignment! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  I am trying to programmatically change a value of a wxRadioButton in a way the user would do it. A value change doesn't call the event corresponded to the button, and it make sense since the documentation says it clearly: wxRadioButton::SetValue void SetValue(const bool value) Sets the radio button to selected or deselected status. This does not cause a wxEVT_COMMAND_RADIOBUTTON_SELECTED event to get emitted. So the question is how can I call an programmatically generated event for a wxRadioButton ? I guess that it's something to do with: wxWindow window->AddPendingEvent(wxEvent *event ) A simple example would be greatly appreciated.

  Hi, I have a requirement of changing an existing JSF 1.1 project where I need to add an additional row to a datatable on click of a button. Currently the datatable loads 3 rows from the backing bean and this new button should add additional rows to the datatable on each click. Using the suggestion provided by http://balusc.blogspot.com/2006/06/using-datatables.html I was able to display the additional row on the UI but I could not save the new data back to the database because the backing bean is in request scope and I cannot change the scope of this bean as it would create other issues. Can somebody provide me a solution to display the new row and also to save the data back to the database when the backing bean is in request scope. Thanks Shyam

When the user pushes the button, I want unlocker (the famous app) to be opened. I have read about in the Unlocker web, and there is some explanations about the commandline to use but nothing works. I write the following code but nothing happens: "c:\Program Files\unlocker\unlocker.exe" -L "PATHFORTHEFILE.doc" Nothing happens. I have tried without parameters and with -LU. Any idea? Something more efficient than unlocker to integrate it with software?

  Hi all. I've got a hidden form field, and when a button gets pressed the value of the hidden field is changed. Now, I've added an observer to the hidden field, listening for changes to occur. For some reason, though, the event listener never kicks in, even though the value of the hidden element changes. I'm using Prototype and Firefox 3.6. The code looks roughly like this: button.observe('click', function(event) { hiddenField.setValue(someValue); }); hiddenField.observe('change', function(event) { alert('It works!'); }); Does anyone have a clue why the latter observer doesn't execute? If I remove the autosizing property then the margin is correct.

After selecting "Clothing," another view slides up with a UIPickerView control that has a "done" button which will dismiss the UIPickerView. Below is a screen shot after hitting "Clothing."   Hi, This is a bit of an odd/specific one - possibly a bug? I'm using MPMoviePlayerViewController to play a variety of files, including Enhanced Podcasts - these are audio files, but with a slideshow of images, often created using GarageBand. Until (i think) iOS 3.2 they weren't supported at all, now they are and play fine in the iPod app, but in my app the slideshow doesn't start, the full screen movie player opens, and the audio begins, but all I see is the QuickTime logo. If I scrub the track the pictures appear - and will continue to play correctly - but I see nothing if I don't scrub! Any ideas?? On a related note, these files also include a small rectangluar button containing an (i) button on the right hand side - anybody know what it is or should do?! It does nothing for me!

MediaPlayer.create(Textbox.this, R.raw.fly); And it works PERFECTLY on the Android Emulator... (Plays track on click of button) Can someone explain why, when I put it on my Archos (5 IT) it doesnt work at all? -As soon as the button is clicked, it crashes... • VB.NET Application which can compile and run C programs

  These days I'm working on a VB.NET application which can be used to edit, compile and run C programs. Can someone tell me how I can call a cl.exe process from within my VB program and also that how do I run the program in the console widow itself. Presently I have only the editor ready. With that one can type in a program and save it with a ".c" extension. Now there are 2 buttons on my form - "Compile" and "Run". When the user clicks on the "Compile" button, the program should be passed to the cl.exe process and the errors should be displayed in another textbox or the DOS(black screen itself). And when the user clicks on the "Run" button, the ".exe" file which just got created should get executed.

• Silverlight navigation control not showing link

  hi, I am playing around with the silverlights navigation frame. Starting from the navigation project, I have basically copied the main page frame and launched it from a new hyperlink button. So I have a type of nested navigation (i.e. my new button "Employees", launches a new page which has a frame (named differently from parent) which has a number of hyperlinks). This seems to work fine however the URL for the sub frame hyperlinks do not not change. When I click on any of the nested links, it shows the parent link for Employee. Any ideas what needs to be changed? JD.

  Hi, I have a validationsummary control which displays the summary of a few validationrequired controls and all of them belong to a validationgroup. My submit button also has the same validationgroup so it validates everything upon it being clicked. The problem i am having is setting the focus to the validationsummary control after validation occurs when my submit button is clicked. The focus goes to the top of my webform.   I just installed VS2010 and the great new IronPython Tools extension. Currently this extension doesn't yet generate event handlers in code upon double-clicking wpf visual controls. Is there anyone that can provide or point me to an example as to how to code wpf event handlers manually in python. I've had no luck finding any and I am new to visual studio.
