  • Hardware/Software inventory open source projects

    - by Dick dastardly
Dear Stackoverflowers I would like to develop a Network Inventory application that works on any operating system. Reports on every possible resource attacehd to a network. Reports all pertinent details of hardware and software. Thats (and i hate to use the phrase) my "End Game". However I am running before i can crawl here. I have no experience of this type of development, e.g. discovering a computers hardware and software settings. I've spent almost two weeks googling and come up short! :-(. So I am turning to you to ask these questions:- My first step is to find an existing open source project i can incorporate into my own code that extracts the fine grained details i am after, e.g. EVERYTHING there is to know about the hardaware and software on a single machine. Does this project exist? or do i have to develop that first? Have i got to write all this in C? I am guessing getting this information about a computer is going to be easier than for printers, scanners, routers etc... e.g. everything else you would find attached to a network. Once i have access to a single computers details i then need to investigate how i can traverse an entire newtork of printers, scanners, routers, load balancers, switches, firewalls, workstations, servers, storeage devices, laptops, monitors, the list goes on and on One problem i have is i dont have a 1000 machine newtork to play on! Is there any such resource available on theinternet? (is that a silly question?) Anywho, if you dont ask you wont find out! One aspect iam really looking forward to finding out how to travers the entire network, should i be using TCP/IP for this? Whats a good site, blog, usergorup, book for TCP/IP development? How do i go about getting through firewalls? How many questions can i ask in one go? :-) My previous question on this topic ended up with PYTHON being championed as the language/script to go with to develop this application in. Having looked at a few PYTHON examples they all seemed to be related to WINDOWS networks and interrogating Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI). I had the feeling you cant rely on whats in WMI, and even if you can that s no good for UNIX netwrks. Surely there exist common code for extracting hardware and software details from a computer? Why cant i find it on the internet? Pease help? Theres no prizes though :-( Thanks in advance I would like to appologise if i have broken forum rules or not tried hard enough on my own before asking for assistance. I just would like to start moving forward with this as its one of the best projects i have been involved with. I am inspired by the many differnt number of challenges involved and that if i manage to produce a useful application at the end of it it would hopefully be extremely helpful to many people. That sit Thanks in advance DD

  • What am I missing in the following buttons code?

    - by Ayush Goyal
    I am trying to increment and decrement the middle textview via buttons on the sides. The application starts up finely but by the time I click on any of the buttons it gets closed with following error. Error: process <package> has stopped unexpectedly. My main.xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <Button android:id="@+id/button1" android:layout_width="50dp" android:layout_height="250dp" android:text="+" android:textSize="40dp" /> <TextView android:id="@+id/tv1" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="0" android:textSize="80dp" android:layout_toRightOf="@+id/button1" android:layout_marginTop="75dp" android:layout_marginLeft="80dp" /> <Button android:id="@+id/button2" android:layout_width="50dp" android:layout_height="250dp" android:layout_alignParentRight="true" android:text="-" android:textSize="40dp" /> My java file: public class IncrementDecrementActivity extends Activity { int counter; Button add, sub; TextView tv; /** Called when the activity is first created. */ @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); add = (Button) findViewById(R.id.button1); sub = (Button) findViewById(R.id.button2); tv = (TextView) findViewById(R.id.tv1); add.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() { @Override public void onClick(View v) { counter++; tv.setText(counter); } }); sub.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() { @Override public void onClick(View v) { counter--; tv.setText(counter); } }); } }

  • Python __subclasses__() not listing subclasses

    - by Mridang Agarwalla
I cant seem to list all derived classes using the __subclasses__() method. Here's my directory layout: import.py backends __init__.py --digger __init__.py base.py test.py --plugins plugina_plugin.py From import.py i'm calling test.py. test.py in turn iterates over all the files in the plugins directory and loads all of them. test.py looks like this: import os import sys import re sys.path.append(os.path.join(os.path.abspath(os.path.dirname(os.path.abspath( __file__ ))))) sys.path.append(os.path.join(os.path.abspath(os.path.dirname(os.path.abspath( __file__ ))), 'plugins')) from base import BasePlugin class TestImport: def __init__(self): print 'heeeeello' PLUGIN_DIRECTORY = os.path.join(os.path.abspath(os.path.dirname(os.path.abspath( __file__ ))), 'plugins') for filename in os.listdir (PLUGIN_DIRECTORY): # Ignore subfolders if os.path.isdir (os.path.join(PLUGIN_DIRECTORY, filename)): continue else: if re.match(r".*?_plugin\.py$", filename): print ('Initialising plugin : ' + filename) __import__(re.sub(r".py", r"", filename)) print ('Plugin system initialized') print BasePlugin.__subclasses__() The problem us that the __subclasses__() method doesn't show any derived classes. All plugins in the plugins directory derive from a base class in the base.py file. base.py looks like this: class BasePlugin(object): """ Base """ def __init__(self): pass plugina_plugin.py looks like this: from base import BasePlugin class PluginA(BasePlugin): """ Plugin A """ def __init__(self): pass Could anyone help me out with this? Whatm am i doing wrong? I've racked my brains over this but I cant seem to figure it out Thanks.

  • Update to Easy Slider 1.7 made all my JQuery code stop working.

    - by Anders H
I'm pretty novice as a JQuery user goes. I've got some experience implementing different plugins but would be lost trying to customize my own. I can't share the exact site details with you due to a NDA, so I hope someone can give me a little help. I've got a project due today (Just HTML/CSS/JQuery). It has a lightbox, show/hide login menu and a slider is Easy Slider 1.5. Everything was working together, until I attempted to update to Easy Slider 1.7 (see link on same page, I'm too new to post more than 1 link). When I did so, JQuery stopped working for all the plugins. I've attempted to revert back to the original state, by undoing my work (didn't do much), ad JQuery remains broken. Firebug Error Console shared no errors. I can't find anything in the code no matter how hard I look at it. Can anyone help me troubleshoot this JQuery problem? Delivery is supposed to be tonight for the project. • Best practises for Magento Deployment

    - by Spongeboy
I am looking setting up a deployment process for a highly customised Magento site, and was wondering how other people do this. I will be setting up dev, UAT and prod environments. All the Magento files will be in source control (SVN). At this stage, I can't see any requirements for changing the DB, so the 3 databases will be manually maintained. Specifically, How do you apply Magento upgrades? (Individually in each env, or on dev then roll out, or just give up on upgrades?) What files/folders do leave alone in each environment (e.g. magento/app/etc/local.xml) Do you restrict developers to editing specific files/folders? Do you restrict theme designers to editing specific files/folders? How do you manage database changes? Theme Designer Files/Folders Designers can restricted to editing the following folders- app/design/frontend/your_interface/your_theme/layout/ app/design/frontend/your_interface/your_theme/template/ app/design/frontend/your_interface/your_theme/locale/ skin/frontend/your_interface/your_theme/ Extension Developer Files/Folders Extension developers can edit the following folders/files- /app/code/local /app/etc/modules/<Namespace>_<Module>.xml Database environment management As the store's base URL is stored in the database, you cannot just copy databases between environments. Options include- Overriding the base url in php. Blog article on setting up dev and staging databases Changing the base url in the database after copying. (Where is this stored?) Doing a MySQLDump or backup, then doing a replace on the URL in the SQL file.

  • Having issue Deserializing array from an XML string

    - by LeeHull
I'm having issues trying to deserializing my xml string that was from a dataset.. Here is the XML layout.. <DataSet> <User> <UserName>Test</UserName> <Email>[email protected]</Email> <Details> <ID>1</ID> <Name>TestDetails</Name> <Value>1</Value> </Details <Details> <ID>2</ID> <Name>Testing</Name> <Value>3</Value> </Details </User> </DataSet> Now I am able to deserialize the "UserName" and "Email" when doing public class User { public string UserName {get;set;} public string Email {get;set;} public Details[] Details {get;set;} } public class Details { public int ID {get;set;} public string Name {get;set;} public string Value {get;set;} } This deserializes fine when I just get the user node, the Details isnt null but has no items in it.. i know I am suppose to have between all the details but I rather not modify the XML, anyways to get this to deserialize properly without recreating the XML after I get it?

  • suggestions for declarative GUI programming in Java

    - by Jason S
I wonder if there are any suggestions for declarative GUI programming in Java. (I abhor visual-based GUI creator/editor software, but am getting a little tired of manually instantiating JPanels and Boxes and JLabels and JLists etc.) That's my overall question, but I have two specific questions for approaches I'm thinking of taking: JavaFX: is there an example somewhere of a realistic GUI display (e.g. not circles and rectangles, but listboxes and buttons and labels and the like) in JavaFX, which can interface with a Java sourcefile that accesses and updates various elements? Plain Old Swing with something to parse XUL-ish XML: has anyone invented a declarative syntax (like XUL) for XML for use with Java Swing? I suppose it wouldn't be hard to do, to create some code based on STaX which reads an XML file, instantiates a hierarchy of Swing elements, and makes the hierarchy accessible through some kind of object model. But I'd rather use something that's well-known and documented and tested than to try to invent such a thing myself. JGoodies Forms -- not exactly declarative, but kinda close & I've had good luck with JGoodies Binding. But their syntax for Form Layout seems kinda cryptic. edit: lots of great answers here! (& I added #3 above) I'd be especially grateful for hearing any experiences any of you have had with using one of these frameworks for real-world applications. p.s. I did try a few google searches ("java gui declarative"), just didn't quite know what to look for.

  • JSF/Seam - call one component method for many radio groups

    - by purecharger
I've got the following jsf page: <h:form> <ui:repeat value="#{list.categories}" var="cat"> <h:selectOneRadio id="sel1Rad" value="#{list.choose}" layout="pageDirection"> <f:selectItems value="#{list.names}"/> </h:selectOneRadio> </ui:repeat> <h:commandButton id="submit" action="#{list.submit}" value="Submit"/> </h:form> And a component named list. The variable cat is injected to the component, used by the method list.getNames(). What I am trying to have happen is to have list.choose() be called for each radio group. I'm not sure if this is possible with Seam. Going by the booking example distributed with Seam, there is a distinct separate method for each selectOneRadio or selectOneMenu group. Since I have an unknown number of categories, I can't / don't want to define a method for each possible choice. When I submit the form, all my choices are sent in the POST, I just don't know the correct way to tell Seam how to dispatch them to my component. Any help is appreciated!

  • New to Android: Dynamically changing views

    - by Josiah Kiehl
I'm trying to learn how to build apps for Android. The first simple app, which will become a component of a bigger app I hope to build, is to have a button on the screen where, when tapped, it adds something new to the view. For instance: Imagine a layout that only has a button: [Create!] When that button, the view gets a new row added to it: [Create!] A Something! Upon subsequent presses, more rows are added [Create!] A Something! A Something! And so on. I've made a LinearLayout and placed the button in it, and have attached a click listener to it. That all works great. What I can't figure out is how to get a handle on the LinearLayout in the onClick function with which I'll addView() the new TextView that says "A Something!" Am I on the right track? What basic thing am I missing? Thanks!

  • Creating content for rails-based applications

    - by Matthias Hryniszak
Hi, I'm facing a problem of cleaning up my application in Ruby on Rails. What I have is a pretty standard 3-panel, header and footer layout where different parts of the screen contain different functionality. By that I mean for example that the header contains (among others) a select that allows one to select parts of the application and a context-dependent menu. The main content area contains obviously the most interactive stuff whereas side panels contain quick-links with stuff like shopping-cart preview, list of potentially attractive products for the customer, a selector to narrow down the list of options... I was wondering how do I go about simplifying the design. Right now I have the stuff that provides data for the "common" stuff (as opposed to direct content that's placed in the center) called from all the actions (with a filter) but that doesn't feel right for me. I've read that "components" are also not the way to go for obvious performance reasons. Is there something that's more like component-oriented (other frameworks do have that kind of stuff - Grails: <ui:include ../>, ASP.NET MVC: <% Html.RenderAction() %>)? Best regards, Matthias.

  • jQuery image hover color overlay

    - by Ryan Max
    I can't seem to find any examples of this having been done anywhere on the internet before but here is what I am going to attempt to do...I'm trying to go about the cleanest possible way of laying this out. So I have an image gallery where the images are all different sizes. I want to make it so that when you mouseover the image, it turns a shade of orange. Just a simple hover effect. I want to do this without using an image swap, otherwise I'd have to create an orange colored hover-image for each individual gallery image, I'd like this to be a bit more dynamic. My plan is just to position an empty div over the image absolutely with a background color, width and height 100% and opacity: 0. Then using jquery, on mouseover I'd have the opacity fade to 0.3 or so, and fade back to zero on mouseout. My question is, what would be the best way to layout the html and css to do this efficiently and cleanly. Here's a brief, but incomplete setup: <li> <a href="#"> <div class="hover">&nbsp;</div> <img src="images/galerry_image.png" /> </a> </li> .hover { width: 100%; height: 100%; background: orange; opacity: 0; }

  • Help regarding Android NDK

    - by Siva Kumar
I am a beginner in using Android NDK. I am using Eclipse and I installed cygwin to build the c file to generate the .so file But while building the c file in cygwin I am always getting the error make: ***No rule to make target 'file.c' ... .Stop I tried building different C codes but for every file it says the same error .. Here is the source code: public class ndktest extends Activity { static { System.loadLibrary("ndkt"); } private native void helloLog(String logThis); @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); helloLog("this is to test log file"); } } file.c void Java_com_ndktest_helloLog(JNIEnv * env, jobject this, jstring logThis) { jboolean isCopy; const char * szLogThis = (*env)->GetStringUTFChars(env, logThis, &isCopy); (*env)->ReleaseStringUTFChars(env, logThis, szLogThis); } And here is my Android.mk LOCAL_PATH := $(call my-dir) include $(CLEAR_VARS) LOCAL_LDLIBS := -llog LOCAL_MODULE := ndkt LOCAL_SRC_FILES := file.c include $(BUILD_SHARED_LIBRARY) I searched for the solution for the cause of error ... but nothing works for me. Can anyone tell me where I am making the mistake ? Thanks, Siva Kumar

  • new page/forward in javascript

    - by acidzombie24
I am making a greasemonkey script and i would like a link to go forward and modify the current html and allow the user to click back to go to the original page. How might i do this? using jquery + greasemonkey + javascript. Targeting firefox mostly. -edit- http://jsfiddle.net/ seems to do it. If you write random html in the html section, hit run, change the html and hit run again. You'll be able to click back/forward to see the output change (however the html input box stays the same). I am using firefox to view this. Thats the effect i want. it appears the magic is done on line 91. Is this submitting a form in a frame (perhaps the results frame?) and that is causing the movement in history? 88 run: function(e) { 89 e.stop(); 90 Layout.updateFromMirror(); 91 document.id(this.options.formId).submit(); 92 this.fireEvent('run'); 93 },

  • Cyclic Reference - protocols and subclasses

    - by blindJesse
    I'm getting some cyclic reference (I think) problems between a few classes that require imported headers due to either subclassing or protocol definitions. I can explain why things are set up this way but I'm not sure it's essential. Basically these classes are managing reciprocal to-many data relationships. The layout is this: Class A imports Class B because it's a delegate of Class B and needs its protocol definition. Class B imports Class C because it's a subclass of Class C. Class C imports Class A because it's a delegate of Class A and needs its protocol definition. Here's some sample code that illustrates the problem. The errors I'm getting are as follows: In Class A - "Can't find protocol definition for Class_B_Delegate". In Class B - "Can't find interface declaration for Class C - superclass of Class B." In Class C - "Can't find protocol definition for Class_A_Delegate". Class A header: #import <Foundation/Foundation.h> #import "Class_B.h" @protocol Class_A_Delegate @end @interface Class_A : NSObject <Class_B_Delegate> { } @end Class B header: #import <Foundation/Foundation.h> #import "Class_C.h" @protocol Class_B_Delegate <NSObject> @end @interface Class_B : Class_C { } @end Class C Header: #import <Foundation/Foundation.h> #import "Class_A.h" @interface Class_C : NSObject <Class_A_Delegate> { } @end

  • Insane SmartGWT + GWT situation... Error on instantiating ListGridRecord?

    - by Xandel
Hi all, I am asking this here in the hope that someone has maybe come across this situation too... I have posted this on the SmartGWT forum: I am having an issue when trying to instantiate a ListGridRecord object on my server side. I am using the ListGrid on the client side, I want to use GWT's RPC to pass back an array of ListGridRecord objects to populate the grid with. I know that SmartGWT is designed to link to a datasource but I want full control over when I populate the grid and this shouldn't be as much of a nightmare as it is to do. I have searched high and low and cannot find anyone complaining about the same thing. The exception however (listed below) has come up (in my search findings) as a possible memory error - where increasing the memory (-Xmx512m argument) has apparently solved the problem. It did not, however, sort out mine. If anyone can shed any light on this I would greatly appreciate it! Here are my details: Developing using Eclipse Galileo on Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty) and GWT 2.0.3, I built the initial GWT project using the webAppCreator bundled with the GWT 2.0.3 release and imported the project into Eclipse as described on the GWT Getting Started Page (as using the GWT Eclipse plugin caused even more nightmares when trying to connect to a database - this is apparently due to using the Google App Engine and turning it off as all the posts suggested only causes ClassNotFound exceptions). The line that causes the error is literally: ListGridRecord a = new ListGridRecord(); The error I get is the following: 00:00:25.916 [WARN] Exception while dispatching incoming RPC call com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.UnexpectedException : Service method 'public abstract java.lang.String za.co.company.product.client.service.EmployeeServi ce.getAllEmployeeAsListGridRecord()' threw an unexpected exception: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: com.smartgwt.client.util.LogUtil.setJSNIErrorHandl er()V at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.RPC.encodeResponseF orFailure(RPC.java:378) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.RPC.invokeAndEncode Response(RPC.java:581) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.RemoteServiceServle t.processCall(RemoteServiceServlet.java:188) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.RemoteServiceServle t.processPost(RemoteServiceServlet.java:224) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.AbstractRemoteServi ceServlet.doPost(AbstractRemoteServiceServlet.java :62) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet .java:637) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet .java:717) at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.ServletHolder.handle(Ser vletHolder.java:487) at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.ServletHandler.handle(Se rvletHandler.java:362) at org.mortbay.jetty.security.SecurityHandler.handle( SecurityHandler.java:216) at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.SessionHandler.handle(Se ssionHandler.java:181) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.ContextHandler.handle(Co ntextHandler.java:729) at org.mortbay.jetty.webapp.WebAppContext.handle(WebA ppContext.java:405) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.HandlerWrapper.handle(Ha ndlerWrapper.java:152) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.RequestLogHandler.handle (RequestLogHandler.java:49) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.HandlerWrapper.handle(Ha ndlerWrapper.java:152) at org.mortbay.jetty.Server.handle(Server.java:324) at org.mortbay.jetty.HttpConnection.handleRequest(Htt pConnection.java:505) at org.mortbay.jetty.HttpConnection$RequestHandler.co ntent(HttpConnection.java:843) at org.mortbay.jetty.HttpParser.parseNext(HttpParser. java:647) at org.mortbay.jetty.HttpParser.parseAvailable(HttpPa rser.java:211) at org.mortbay.jetty.HttpConnection.handle(HttpConnec tion.java:380) at org.mortbay.io.nio.SelectChannelEndPoint.run(Selec tChannelEndPoint.java:395) at org.mortbay.thread.QueuedThreadPool$PoolThread.run (QueuedThreadPool.java:488) Caused by: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: com.smartgwt.client.util.LogUtil.setJSNIErrorHandl er()V at com.smartgwt.client.util.LogUtil.setJSNIErrorHandl er(Native Method) at com.smartgwt.client.core.JsObject.(JsObjec t.java:30) at za.co.company.product.server.service.EmployeeServi ceImpl.getAllEmployeeAsListGridRecord(EmployeeServ iceImpl.java:83) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Nativ e Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Native MethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(De legatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:597) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.RPC.invokeAndEncode Response(RPC.java:562) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.RemoteServiceServle t.processCall(RemoteServiceServlet.java:188) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.RemoteServiceServle t.processPost(RemoteServiceServlet.java:224) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.AbstractRemoteServi ceServlet.doPost(AbstractRemoteServiceServlet.java :62) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet .java:637) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet .java:717) at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.ServletHolder.handle(Ser vletHolder.java:487) at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.ServletHandler.handle(Se rvletHandler.java:362) at org.mortbay.jetty.security.SecurityHandler.handle( SecurityHandler.java:216) at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.SessionHandler.handle(Se ssionHandler.java:181) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.ContextHandler.handle(Co ntextHandler.java:729) at org.mortbay.jetty.webapp.WebAppContext.handle(WebA ppContext.java:405) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.HandlerWrapper.handle(Ha ndlerWrapper.java:152) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.RequestLogHandler.handle (RequestLogHandler.java:49) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.HandlerWrapper.handle(Ha ndlerWrapper.java:152) at org.mortbay.jetty.Server.handle(Server.java:324) at org.mortbay.jetty.HttpConnection.handleRequest(Htt pConnection.java:505) at org.mortbay.jetty.HttpConnection$RequestHandler.co ntent(HttpConnection.java:843) at org.mortbay.jetty.HttpParser.parseNext(HttpParser. java:647) at org.mortbay.jetty.HttpParser.parseAvailable(HttpPa rser.java:211) at org.mortbay.jetty.HttpConnection.handle(HttpConnec tion.java:380) at org.mortbay.io.nio.SelectChannelEndPoint.run(Selec tChannelEndPoint.java:395) at org.mortbay.thread.QueuedThreadPool$PoolThread.run (QueuedThreadPool.java:488) Thanks in advance! • asp.net: saving js file with c# commands...

I would like to remove this multiline part from head and place it in jeditable.js file, which is now empty. If I do copy/paste, then <% %> part won't be executed. In PHP I would save js file as jeditable.js.php and server would compile code that is in <?php ?> tag. Any ideas how to solve this problem? Thanks in advance, Ile

  • uiview's controls unresponsive.. or how to foul up a view hierarchy

    - by user293139
Hello all, I'm working on an app that has two sections, a config section and a results section. My config section needs to be 2 separate views (horizontal and vert, and yes, I can hear the intake of breath from here), with one rotatable view for the results. b/c of layout restraints and a lot of pain around rotation, I'm not using a navigation controller. I've been experiencing the joys of rotation experimentation and have settled upon keeping my views contained as subviews of my view controller. i.e. view controller.view.subviews = configH, configV, and results. I then use the controller.view bringSubviewToFront to bring the either the configH, configV, or the result view to the front. Rotation works-queue(humor intended) the angelic choirs... almost. What's happening is that my configV button's are responsive, but when the device (or simulator) is rotated, my configH controls are not. (configV is the second subview added, but the first one to be brought to the front because app comes up in portrait mode) The controls on the results view also work. Plan B was to assign the controller.view to configH, configV, or results. All of my controls now work, but rotation is now fouled up. Question 1: Is there a better way to do this? (a horizontal and vertical config view and a rotatable results view) Question 2: Does the above suggest a design issue, or is it more likely that my addled brain is just missing something in my own code. (nothing from the peanut gallery please) many thanks!

  • DisplayObject snapshot in flex 3

    - by simplemagik
i'm creating a visual editor in flex and need to let users export thier projects into Image format. But i have one problem: size of the canvas is fixed and when user add element which is out of these sizes some scroll bars added. And user continue working on the project. but when he want to take snapshot of the canvas he just get the visible part ot the canvas with scrollbars. how to get image of the fullsize canvas? The only solution i found is to check the positions and sizes of canvas child objects and rezise it to fit them. then take snap and resize back. But it hmmmm... too complicated i think. Is there some "easy methods"? <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="vertical"> <mx:Script> <![CDATA[ import mx.graphics.ImageSnapshot; private function SnapshotButtonHandler():void { var snapshot:ImageSnapshot = ImageSnapshot.captureImage(AppCanvas); var file:FileReference = new FileReference(); file.save(snapshot.data, "canvas.png"); } ]]> </mx:Script> <mx:Canvas id="AppCanvas" width="800" height="300" backgroundColor="0xFFFFFF"> <mx:Box x="750" y="100" width="100" height="100" backgroundColor="0xCCCCCC" /> </mx:Canvas> <mx:Button id="SnapshotButton" label="take snapshot" click="SnapshotButtonHandler()" /> </mx:Application>

  • CoreData: managedObjectContext not being created

I had to add core data to an existing project but I am having issues with the managedObjectContext... in prefix.pch I have this: #import <Availability.h> #ifndef __IPHONE_5_0 #warning "This project uses features only available in iOS SDK 5.0 and later." #endif #ifdef __OBJC__ #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> #import <Foundation/Foundation.h> #import <CoreData/CoreData.h> #endif ... in my appDelegate.h I have this: #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> #import "AppViewController.h" #import "DDLog.h" #import "DDASLLogger.h" #import "DDFileLogger.h" #import "DDTTYLogger.h" #import "KIP_LogManager.h" @interface AppDelegate : UIResponder <UIApplicationDelegate> { DDFileLogger* fileLogger; /*coredata*/ NSManagedObjectModel* managedObjectModel; NSManagedObjectContext* managedObjectContext; NSPersistentStoreCoordinator* persistentStoreCoordinator; } @property (strong, nonatomic) UIWindow *window; @property (strong, nonatomic) AppViewController* viewController; @property (readonly, strong, nonatomic) NSManagedObjectContext* managedObjectContext; @property (readonly, strong, nonatomic) NSManagedObjectModel* managedObjectModel; @property (readonly, strong, nonatomic) NSPersistentStoreCoordinator* persistentStoreCoordinator; - (void)setupLogging; - (NSString *)applicationDocumentsDirectory; in appDelegate.m this: @synthesize managedObjectContext = _managedObjectContext; @synthesize managedObjectModel = _managedObjectModel; @synthesize persistentStoreCoordinator = _persistentStoreCoordinator; ... - (BOOL)application:(UIApplication *)application didFinishLaunchingWithOptions:(NSDictionary *)launchOptions { //establish lumberjack logging [self setupLogging]; DDLogVerbose(@"\n\n*********************\nNEW LOG SESSION\n**********************\n\n"); //set root view controller self.window = [[UIWindow alloc] initWithFrame:[[UIScreen mainScreen] bounds]]; self.viewController = [[AppViewController alloc] init]; self.window.rootViewController = self.viewController; self.viewController.managedObjectContext = _managedObjectContext; return YES; } ... #pragma mark - CoreData Stack - (NSManagedObjectContext *)managedObjectContext { if (_managedObjectContext != nil) { return _managedObjectContext; } NSPersistentStoreCoordinator *coordinator = [self persistentStoreCoordinator]; if (coordinator != nil) { _managedObjectContext = [[NSManagedObjectContext alloc] init]; [_managedObjectContext setPersistentStoreCoordinator:coordinator]; } return _managedObjectContext; } // Returns the managed object model for the application. // If the model doesn't already exist, it is created from the application's model. - (NSManagedObjectModel *)managedObjectModel { if (_managedObjectModel != nil) { return _managedObjectModel; } NSURL *modelURL = [[NSBundle mainBundle] URLForResource:@"SPI_PAC" withExtension:@"momd"]; _managedObjectModel = [[NSManagedObjectModel alloc] initWithContentsOfURL:modelURL]; return _managedObjectModel; } - (NSPersistentStoreCoordinator *)persistentStoreCoordinator { if (persistentStoreCoordinator != nil) { return persistentStoreCoordinator; } NSMutableString* strDocsDirector = [[NSMutableString alloc] initWithString:[self applicationDocumentsDirectory]]; [strDocsDirector appendString:@"/SPI_PAC.sqlite"]; NSURL* storeURL = [NSURL URLWithString:strDocsDirector]; NSError *error = nil; persistentStoreCoordinator = [[NSPersistentStoreCoordinator alloc] initWithManagedObjectModel:[self managedObjectModel]]; if(![persistentStoreCoordinator addPersistentStoreWithType:NSSQLiteStoreType configuration:nil URL:storeURL options:nil error:&error]) { /*Error for store creation should be handled in here*/ } return persistentStoreCoordinator; } - (NSString *)applicationDocumentsDirectory { return [NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains(NSDocumentDirectory, NSUserDomainMask, YES) lastObject]; } in the view controller, viewDidLoad I am logging the passed managedObjectContext and am getting null returned. • Avoiding Multiple Dialog Calls with htaccess

    - by Jeffrey J Weimer
OK, I'm new to this, so pardon if the question is already a FAQ. Searching multiple places still leaves me dumbfounded. I have a Web site generated with iWeb09/Mac hosting on an ISP. To secure certain pages, I am trying to set up .htaccess + .htpasswd files. The basic directory structure is ... Main index.html Images.html Images (some css, js stuff) Media Image01 Image01.jpeg ... Image02 Image02.jpeg ... I want to password protect access to the Images directory and all the files therein. The index.html file has a link to the Images.html file that contains the layout for the files in the Images directory. I have put a basic .htaccess file at the Main level that restricts access via ... <Files "Images.html"> AuthType Basic AuthName "Images" AuthUserFile /Main/.htpasswd AuthGroupFile /dev/null Require valid-user </Files> I have then created a valid .htpasswd file. All works at the start, however after the first call to set up the Images.html page, the secure login prompt is displayed multiple times, presumably once for every sub-sub-directory Images/Media/ImageXX (with multiple sub-directories, I just give up after two or three times). I have also tried placing the .htaccess file inside the Images directory with the same problem. Recommendations I have seen suggest a better convention is needed in the basic .htaccess file itself. Alternatively, perhaps a companion .htaccess is needed in the Images directory. So, how do I fix this problem? -- JJW

  • Android Plugin in Eclipse 3.5 on Ubuntu 64bit got problems with properties

    - by Zordid
Hi there! I got a huge problem with the Android Development Tools ADT running in Eclipse Galileo (3.5.1) on Ubuntu 9.10, 64bit. On this platform, I do not manage to see any property edit dialogs for layout properties. E.g. the one where you can select a string resource ID for text fields, or a drawable ID for image fields or backgrounds. Whenever I click on the ... button next to the property value - nothing happens, except this button disappears. Properties with a list of possible values, e.g. "wrap_content" or "fill_parent" are displayed in a dropdown box directly in the properties field. On a different system I work in a Windows environment with Eclipse 3.4 and the same ADT: no problems whatsoever, everything works fine, the dialogs come perfectly. Does anyone know what to do here? Where's the problem? Why does Eclipse not tell me that something goes wrong? Thanks! NEW DISCOVERIES: I found out that it might not even be an Android problem, but a general Eclipse problem that I can see with all version (Ganymede, Galileo, Helios) on my Linux (Ubuntu) system. It must be a simple UI problem: the button with ... next to the values does not receive the mouse click!! I managed to see the appropriate dialogs to edit the property values by doubleclicking the button - crazy, strange, ugly behavior! But why on earth does nobody else know about this problem - I cannot find anything else on the net about it! Could it be related to this strange "GDK native window problem" on Gnome? HELP!
