• unable to set xmx beyond 4gb on system having 8gb RAM

  I need to set ANT_OPTS=-Xms1024m -Xmx6144m -XX:PermSize=1024m -XX:MaxPermSize=1024m JAVA_OPTS=-Xms1024m -Xmx6144m -XX:PermSize=1024m -XX:MaxPermSize=1024m I have a system with 8gb(recently upgraded from 4 gb) But once i set the ant opts to above said value I am not able to run any of my ant targets and I get the following error [ERROR] Argument error: -Xmx6144m [ERROR] Specified maximum heap size (6144 MB) is larger than the address space on this platform (4 GB). [WARN ] -XX:PermSize=1024m is not a valid VM option. Ignoring [WARN ] -XX:MaxPermSize=1024m is not a valid VM option. Ignoring Could not create the Java virtual machine. This indicates the Java that I have on my system java version "1.6.0_20" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_20-b02) Oracle JRockit(R) (build R28.1.0-123-138454-1.6.0_20-20101014-1351-windows-x86_64, compiled mode) and I am running a Windows 7 on Intel Core 2 duo 3Ghz processor and 8gb RAM Any pointers in solving this issue would be of great help. • DPM - Monitoring is green, Protection has error and Latest rec point is old. How do I interpret that?

  How do I read the DPM info in this case? Monitoring says Failed but Protection shows Ok while having a Latest recovery point from last year. Under Monitoring tab I have Failed for Source | Computer | Protection group | Start time Computer\System Protection | MyServerName | Recovery point | 2014-06-09 19:00:00 which shows me that something happened last night. But under Protection tab everything is green. Here I have Protection group member | | Protection status Protection group ..name.. Computer: MyServerName Computer\System protection Bare metal recovery OK ... Latest recovery point: 2013-12-12 06:32:54 My guess is that backup failed last night once, but succeeded later. It then found out that there hasn't been any change since sometime last year and leave it be and flags Ok.

  I'm looking at the eventviewer logs, and I see a bunch Error entries in the Application log. (Windows Server 2008 R1). There is an error written to the logs about every 4 seconds. I need to find out which application is causing these events, is there anyway to find this out? • Why can't I access one specific website?

  I can browse all websites except codinghorror.com in any of my browsers (IE, Firefox & Chrome), but that site is not down. Chrome gives this error msg: Error 109 (net::ERR_ADDRESS_UNREACHABLE): Unknown error There's absolutely no problem with internet connectivity. I also enabled TCP/IP version-6 but the site just doesn't open. What could be the problem?

  When ever I run an Exchange 2010 SP1 Discovery Search I get the following error: "Search failed as the results link to the target mailbox '[email protected]' couldn't be generated." I have checked to ensure the discovery mailbox is enabled I created a new Discovery mailbox. I get the same error with both Mailboxes. • "System call failed" error when trying to open "My Computer" etc. under the Start menu! What is happening?

  When I go to the start menu I can load program icons but if I click on Documents, My Pictures, My Computer, Default Programs...all the options on the right part--I get "System call failed". How do I solve ths? Is my HD failing? Also, I don't know if it's connected but yesterday my uTorrent stopped working in a way it has never done before. I'm not able to download torrent files. In the program I get "socket unreacheable..." Also, for the last 2 days my internet has been super-slow. I checked Kaspersky for viruses. It says: "No active threats". Windows 7 64-bit.

  I am trying to checkout into the virtualbox shared folder with svn 1.7 in ubuntu 12.04 running as a guest on a windows 7 host. I had read that this error was a 1.6 problem, and updated - but am still receiving the error: svn: E000071: Can't move '/mnt/hostShare/code/www/.svn/tmp/svn-hsOG5X' to '/mnt/hostShare/code/www/trunk/statement.aspx?d=201108': Protocol error I found this blog post about the same error in a mac environment, but am finding that changing the folder/file permissions does nothing. vim .svn/entires just has the number 12 - does this need to be changed? Thank you for any assistance! (just another reason for why I prefer git...)

  I recently downloaded Ubuntu 10.10 and created an USB drive with that. I started to run the Ubuntu from that USB drive. But I am facing so much problem. I am thinking why its not so much easy like Windows to do all my job in ubuntu. Always I get some error message or to install something. This time I am getting the following errors. I am trying to download and install Aircrack-ng. So used the command sudo apt-get install aircrack-ng. But the installation stops with the following error : update-initramfs: deferring update (trigger activated) cp: cannot stat `/vmlinuz': No such file or directory dpkg: error processing bcmwl-kernel-source (--configure): subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 Errors were encountered while processing: initramfs-tools bcmwl-kernel-source E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) I don't even have the aptitude command installed till now. Are all these errors because of I am running the ubuntu from USB drive? Is there any simple and easy way to go to Ubuntu Software Center and download all the required essentials at one shot and then Aircrack-ng? I could not find the Aircrack-ng in Ubuntu Software Center Can anybody give me detail steps to solve all my problems above. I am frustrated searching for updates and installations. When something works and something does not work. Can anybody suggest me how I should proceed after installing ubuntu to run on a USB drive. So that I can use the OS like Windows. Like software download,wireless driver, sound, video, documents, C:, D: all things should be there. Please somebody help.

  My current PHP5.3 installation was compiled with libmysql by default. To run certain mysqli functions, I need the mysqlnd library, but I can't seem to find a step by step guide giving proper description how to recompile PHP 5.3 on Debian 6 with custom settings. All I found was the configuration parameter on the PHP.net manual (http://php.net/manual/en/mysqlinfo.library.choosing.php) saying that this is a compile time decision: $ ./configure --with-mysqli=mysqlnd --with-pdo-mysql=mysqlnd --with-mysql=mysqlnd Any ideas how to do it? Specific help needed I would very much like help in debugging what is going on here. I am not sure how to determine what processes are in the Apache error log which are exiting "[notice] child pid 1955 exit signal Floating point exception (8)", or what is causing them to exit. And whether suhosin is part of the problem (and how to disable it if it is). Thank you in advance for any advice or tips you can offer in helping me debug this.

  I build a basic WCF service that I now want to host in IIS7 under Windows Server 2008 R2. I added the service as an application under the default web site but whenever i try to run the application I get the following error: HTTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error The requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid. Config Error - Cannot read configuration file due to insufficient permissions The only way I can get this service working is if i choose to "connect as" the server Administrator when adding the service. the "application user (pass-through authentication)" option does not seem to work. Could anyone help me out, I've just started using IIS7 and have no idea what to do... Thanks

  I have windows server 2008 r2 installed, Only service running on it is hyper-v. I am trying to take backup using windows server backup feature and it fails with following error in eventlog The backup operation that started at '?2009?-?08?-?22T18:42:14.123000000Z' has failed because the Volume Shadow Copy Service operation to create a shadow copy of the volumes being backed up failed with following error code '2155348129'. Please review the event details for a solution, and then rerun the backup operation once the issue is resolved.   Update: This issue is due to the use of any non-local location for the SkyDrive folder. I've currently worked around this by using a local folder, but this has not resolved the original problem. I am trying to change the location where SkyDrive is located in Windows 8.1. This is the newly integrated SkyDrive, and not a downloadable client. There are a couple of similar questions on this site, but they pertain to Windows 8 and 8.1 Preview: Changing the SkyDrive default path in Windows 8.1 (Windows 8.1 Preview) How do I change the SkyDrive default folder in Windows (Windows 8) The SkyDrive folder is a system folder in 8.1, and like other system folders, has a Location tab in its properties that theoretically lets you change its location. I was able to do this with other system folders such as Downloads and Pictures, but there is an error when I try to change this for SkyDrive. Edit: The location that causes this error is a mapped network drive. The error does not occur when trying to move SkyDrive to another location on the same drive. There are no permission restrictions on the mapped network drive.   I'm having problem connecting to MS SQL Server (2012 Express) after accessing a database through IIS (web site). I can access the data through web site no problem, but I can't access the data from any other programs (i.e SSMS) until I reboot the SQL server. It seems that the connection stays open even if I close a browser. Here is error message I'm getting Unable to open the physical file "C:---------". • App pool gets stuck on reset and takes .net pages out

  Several times after our app pool has been told to reset, it gets stuck, the .net pages go down and the following error appears in the application event log: Failed to execute request because the App-Domain could not be created. Error: 0x80070057 The parameter is incorrect. Our app pool is scheduled to automatically reset at 4am, so the errors stay up until we manually restart the app pool. Has anyone else encountered the error or know of any solutions? Research has suggested it's a permissions issue, but the permissions don't change and the error happens infrequently. The site has no other permission based problems and the app pool identity has permission where needed.

  I've been trying to setup a password protected directory in a SSL website as follows: /etc/nginx/sites-available/default server { listen 443: ssl on; ssl_certificate /usr/certs/server.crt; ssl_certificate_key /usr/certs/server.key; server_name server1.example.com; root /var/www/example.com/htdocs/; index index.html; location /secure/ { auth_basic "Restricted"; auth_basic_user_file /var/www/example.com/.htpasswd; } } The problem is when I try to access the URL https://server1.example.com/secure/, I get a "404: Not Found" error page. My error.log shows the following error: 011/11/26 03:09:06 [error] 10913#0: *1 no user/password was provided for basic authentication, client: 192.168.0.24, server: server1.example.com, request: "GET /secure/ HTTP/1.1", host: "server1.example.com" However, I was able to setup password protected directories for a normal HTTP virtual host without any problems. Is it a problem with the config or something else?

  Possible Duplicate: How do you do Load Testing and Capacity Planning for Web Sites I've seen tutorials saying they can run decent websites on 64MB RAM (Debian/Lighttpd/PHP/MySQL) however it's not clearly defined how much hits/traffic a "decent" site gets. Is there a rule of thumb on how much RAM a web server needs? To keep things simple, let's say you're running a site with static content and it's averaging at 100,000 hits per hour (HTML + images combined, no MySQL). How much RAM is the minimum requirement for that?
