  • How to register XHTML namespaces??

    My page use to validate for XHTML but I added the addthis buttons to page and it gives a new namespace: E.G.: <a addthis:url="http://domain.tld/path/to/stuff" addthis:title="Teh Title here"> I tried: <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:addthis="http://addthis.com/" lang="en"> Doesn't work. Can we register namespaces for the validator??? I AM EMOTIONALLY ATTACHED TO VALID XHTML. I like addthis, I think its the best button of its kind (yes, I need to use the namespace properties, I know you dont have to but I do for what im doing PHP project) :(

  • jquery fadeout, load, fadein

    Hi, I am using JQuery and what I want to happen is. Div fades out using the fadeOut command. It then loads content from a url using the load command. Then once content loaded it fades back in using the fadeIn command. The code I have is: $("#myDiv").fadeOut().load('www.someurl.com').fadeIn() However this does not work. It kind of flashes then loads out then loads in. I think the problem is that the fading is happening before the load is complete. What should I do Thanks

    Hello, I was told more than once that Delphi handles dynamic classes better than static.Thereby using the following: type Tsomeclass=class(TObject) private procedure proc1; public someint:integer; procedure proc2; end; var someclass:TSomeclass; implementation ... initialization someclass:=TSomeclass.Create; finalization someclass.Free; rather than type Tsomeclass=class private class procedure proc1; public var someint:integer; class procedure proc2; end; 90% of the classes in the project I'm working on have and need only one instance.Do I really have to use the first way for using those classes? Is it better optimized,handled by Delphi? Sorry,I have no arguments to backup this hypothesis,but I want an expert's opinion. Thanks in advance!

  • Doxygen: grouping documentation by folder in a multi-project codebase

    In one project, some pages were added - it was a new project in which doxygen was being tested properly - adding comments & pages - rather than simply auto-generating docs from our existing code-base. The problem is when doxygen is run on the main code-base, that project's pages show up at a top level. e.g they have a main-page and some sub-pages. But what we'd want is all those pages pushed down one level so you have main-project-main-project-pages. One question is what happens if multiple projects have a main-page? Do they get combined, or throw errors? Another question is if you can tell doxygen to use paths and containing folders to auto-generate groups or sections or page-hierarchies in some way? Going through all out projects to properly assign classes to groups is a mammoth task, so ideally everything in a directory would get put in a group of that name, as a way to make the documentation of non-doxygen codebases better. Sorry my question is a bit vague, the problem is even after reading the docs the terminology isn't totally clear yet. Hopefully the kind of question I'm asking is clear, if not I'll try to cobble an example file-structure together.

  • Unescape _xHHHH_ XML escape sequences using Python

    I'm using Python 2.x [not negotiable] to read XML documents [created by others] that allow the content of many elements to contain characters that are not valid XML characters by escaping them using the _xHHHH_ convention e.g. ASCII BEL aka U+0007 is represented by the 7-character sequence u"_x0007_". Neither the functionality that allows representation of any old character in the document nor the manner of escaping is negotiable. I'm parsing the documents using cElementTree or lxml [semi-negotiable]. Here is my best attempt at unescapeing the parser output as efficiently as possible: import re def unescape(s, subber=re.compile(r'_x[0-9A-Fa-f]{4,4}_').sub, repl=lambda mobj: unichr(int(mobj.group(0)[2:6], 16)), ): if "_" in s: return subber(repl, s) return s The above is biassed by observing a very low frequency of "_" in typical text and a better-than-doubling of speed by avoiding the regex apparatus where possible.     I'm trying to be diligent about checking my rake tasks with RSpec tests, but in the process of feeling my way around I seem to have hit a wall. I've got a really simple RSpec test that looks like this: # ./test/meta_spec.rb describe "Rake tasks" do require 'rake' before(:each) do @rake = Rake::Application.new @rake.load_rakefile # => Error here! Rake.application = @rake end after(:each) do Rake.application = nil end it "should have at least one RSpec test to execute" do Rake.application["specs"].spec_files.size.should > 0 end end I have a simple task called "specs" defined in ./Rakefile.rb which has an RSpec task that includes all the *_spec.rb files. If I put the @rake.load_rakefile method in, I want that Rakefile to load. But instead it just bombs out. If I comment it out, however, the test fails because the "specs" task is (understandably) not defined. Where am I going wrong?

Let's say I have an employee table: ID | Name | Title | Salary ---------------------------- 1 | Bob | Manager | 15285 2 | Joe | Worker | 10250 3 | Al | Worker | 11050 4 | Paul | Manager | 16025 5 | John | Worker | 10450 What I'd like to do is write a query that will give me the above table, along with an averaged salary column, based on the employee title: ID | Name | Title | Salary | Pos Avg -------------------------------------- 1 | Bob | Manager | 15285 | 15655 2 | Joe | Worker | 10250 | 10583 3 | Al | Worker | 11050 | 10583 4 | Paul | Manager | 16025 | 15655 5 | John | Worker | 10450 | 10583 I've tried doing this with a sub-query along the lines of: Select *, (select Avg(e2.salary) from employee e2 where e2.title = e.title) from employee e But I've come to realize that the sub-query is executed first, and has no knowledge of the table alias'd e I'm sure I'm missing something REALLY obvious here, can anyone point me in the right diretion?

  • Proxy calls across a DMZ

    We need to determine a quick way for our web application deployed in a DMZ to communicate to our SQL server that lives in the protected network. Only port 80 is open and available, and no direct SQL traffic is allowed across the firewall. So take the following simple system. A web page (default.aspx) makes a call (string GetData()) that resides in an assembly (Simple.DLL). GetData() uses ADO.NET to open a connection, execute a SQL call, retrieve the data, and return the data to the caller. However, since only port 80 is available and no SQL traffic is allowed, what could we do to accomplish our goal? I believe a .NET remoting solution would work, and I have heard of an architecture where a remoting layer proxies the call from Simple.DLL in the DMZ to another Simple.DLL that runs on the protected side. The remoting layer handles the communication between the two DLL’s. Can someone shed some light on how WCF/remoting can help us and how to get started with a solution?

  • Superfish drop down menu, how to fix z-index in ie6 and ie7?

    I am using the superfish plugin for jquery here: clicky it works fine in all modern browsers FF,Safari, Chrome, IE8 but it seems like the z-index is not working in ie6 and 7 you can see the menu is appearing, but being cut off by the elements below it. I have tried adding a z-index everywhere I can think of but nothing seems to fix this. How can I fix this? Thanks!!!

  • I want to combine my www and non www and keep the link jucie from both.

    My website shows up for some keywords in the www and some in the non www. Seaquake shows more links to the non www version. It is a PR2 either way. I would like to combine the link juice of the two versions into the non www version. Does anyone know the best way to combine the two and keep the link juice of both. It is as simple as a 301 redirect and if so does the 301 need to be handled in any specific way.

    So this question isn't about integrating an existing payment gateway into my site. This is more of a architectural question. I want to build a system similar to Paypal. Now I understand that Paypal offers a lot of features under the roof and I can't implement all of them at once. I want to implement the core functionality of Paypal and other such services. So my question is (rather discussion is) around how would one go about building such a system. Some points to discuss: Handle payments through existing banks. I am guessing that I would need access to local bank protocols to get this. Allow users to securely store and process their payments How does Paypal handle the transactions? Thoughts?

  • jQuery returning two elements for each one it finds?

    I'll start by saying I'm fairly new to jQuery. For the most part, I've found it intuitive and powerful, but this one circumstance has me thoroughly stumped. In the following method, the call to .each() returns two elements for every one found. It iterates over a set of table rows given IDs starting with the word, "communication," and followed by an ID number. For each row it returns, it processes twice. Using Firebug, I've validated that the DOM only has a single instance of each table row in question. Also using Firebug, I've validated that the method is not being called twice; the iteration in .each() is truly going over each returned table row twice. By the time all the AJAX call goodness is done, I'll have two entries in the database for each row created in the table. This is the code that's causing the issues: function getCommunications() { var list = $('[id^=communication]'); var communications = new Array(); list.each(function () { var communication = { ID: $(this).find('.commCompanyID').val(), /* * SNIP: more object properties here that are * unnecessary to this discussion */ }; communications.push(communication); }); return communications; } At the point of return communications, the Array returned will contain twice as many elements as there are table rows. I should note that nearly identical code (but going against specific lists of divs) is working on the same page. It's just the table that's suffering the issues. I'm using jQuery 1.4.1, the version which shipped with Visual Studio .NET 2010. The table markup is fully dynamic -- that is, aside from the header row, it's dependent on data either returned at page load or created by the user via a dialog box. I'll drop in just the code for what's created at page load; again using Firebug I've validated that what I create dynamically when an end user creates a row with the dialog box matches.   • Benefits of migrating my work to a new web development framework?

    When I first started programming with PHP, I was ignorant of other php frameworks (like code igniter, cake php, etc...). So I fell into the trap of re-inventing wheels, which had the benefit of being "fun" and "educational". Overtime, I discovered other open source products that I found useful, like smarty templating engine, jquery library, tcpdf library, fdf etc...so I started bundling these technologies along with things I've built over the years into a LAMP development framework to make life easier for myself. This pass year, I've been having fun developing on the code igniter framework. It does many of the things I do in my framework. Coding in CI feels natural because the MVC and ORM feels similar to the MVC and ORM of my framework. So now I'm contemplating migrating a lot of the plugins in my framework over to CI. The pros and cons I can think of for such a project are: Pros: benefit from the vast community of CI developers lots of other developers will be familiar with it better documentation Cons: I've built a lot of useful plugins against my own framework, and it will take a lot of time to move even just the essential ones at the moment, I still, work faster against my own framework than CI, just because I'm more familiar with it even if I did migrate to CI, there will always be newer and better frameworks in the near future, and i'll be contemplating this scenario again So my question is the following: perhaps I should leave my old framework as is, and for each new project I receive, I make a decision on whether the requirements are best served by developing with CI or my own framework. Is this the right approach?

  • jquery: set variable based on one class from an element that has more than one class

    Hi I'm trying to make a table who's columns and rows highlight on hover (I realise there are jquery plugins out there that will do this, but I'm trying to learn, so thought I'd have a stab at doing it for myself.) Here's what I've got so far: $('th:not(.features), td:not(.features)').hover(highlight); function highlight(){ $('th.highlightCol, td.highlightCol').removeClass('highlightCol'); var col = $(this).attr('class'); $('.' + col).addClass('highlightCol'); }; $('tr').hover(highlightRowOn, highlightRowOff); function highlightRowOn(){ $(this).children('td:not(.highlightCol)').addClass('highlightRow'); }; function highlightRowOff(){ $(this).children('td:not(.highlightCol)').removeClass('highlightRow'); }; This works fine apart from one problem: Each 'td' has a class specific to it's column (package1, package2, package3, package4). It is this that gets passed to the variable (col) to add the class 'highlightCol' to a column when one of its 'td's are hovered on. However, If you move the cursor to a new column along a highlighted row, the 'td' you land on has two classes (highlightedRow and package* ). These both get passed to the variable and as a result the new column does not receive the correct class to highlight. Is there a way for me to target just the 'package* ' class and pass that to the variable while ignoring the 'highlightedRow' class? I hope that's not too jumbled for someone to make sense of and many thanks for any help offered.
