Hi.
I want to run some commands every time a user of an ubuntu 9.10 machine logs out or shuts down. What is the best way to do this? Every user uses gnome if that helps.
Using Visual Studio 2008 to create an msi to deploy my program with a setup project. I need to know how to make the msi run the exe it just installed. A custom action? If so please explain where/how. Thanks.
I'm using GlassFish v3. The following field is declared in a class:
@Resource
private javax.sql.DataSource _data_source;
The following is declare in web.xml:
<data-source
<namejava:app/env/data</name
<class-namecom.mysql.jdbc.Driver</class-name
<server-namelocalhost</server-name
<port-number3306</port-number
<usermyUser</user
<passwordmyPass</password
</data-source
At run-time _data_source is empty. What am I doing wrong?
I can't figure this out and I thought that someone might run through the same thing.
I have XCode 3.2.3 (Pre Release with OS 4 beta) and I started to create my application, after the final touches and everything worked ok, I changed the Simulator - 4.0 to Simulator - 3.1.3 (latest iPhone OS) and I could never start my app again :-(
Does anyone know what I should do?
I created a simple Screencast of the problem so everyone can see what I'm writing about.
Thank you for all the help.
We have splitted our grails application into several inplace-plugins.
Now we want to have the tests in the same plugin like the classes which they test.
Is it possible to configure our application (e.g. in BuildConfig.groovy) so that the tests in the plugins are executed too when we run "test-app"?

A puzzle - a program printing its own source
In your favorite programming language, write a program that, when run, will print out its own source code!
Sounds interesting, now let's go!
ps: Literally, there is "NO" use case for this, just plain curiosity!
Newbie here. I have this code:
while (v < 360)
{
v +=10;
RunIt();
// need to wait half a second here
}
How do I wait the 1/2 second? Also, if this isn't asking too much, I'd like this to run repeatedly until the user clicks on the form. Thanks in advance.
Hi everyone,
I am writing an application for Windows Mobile 6.1, and I would like the application always run on landscape mode, regardless of the screen rotation. Does anyone have any idea?
Thanks :)
So this is probably a long shot, but is there any way to run a C or C++ file as a script? I tried:
#!/usr/bin/gcc main.c -o main; ./main
int main(){ return 0; }
But it says:
./main.c:1:2: error: invalid preprocessing directive #!
I have a jar that runs forever (infinite loop with socket listening thread) and need it to run in the background at all times. An example would be: "java -jar test.jar" How do I do this? Thanks in advance!
I love running as a standard user for its security pluses, my admin account is password protected.
The problem appears when I need to run a program that requires admin rights, is there a way to include the password somehow so I won't have to type it every time ? Without changing my current setup: admin password protected account and I log on to a limited standard user account.
I'm thinking of script or something like that ?
Hello guys.
I have a problem.
How i can run my java-applet directly without embedded in my web page?
I know appletViewr can execute applet without a browser but I need to get java applet without html page.
I have a PHP script that I don't want anyone to be able to run through their browser.
It sends emails and is called via curl by my server's cron, yet needs to be in the public www directory. What permissions or owner do I need to set the file to to allow only my server's curl to execute (or do I mean read) the file?
I'm on centos.
Thanks!
i dont know if this is possible, but i need to do the following.
When i make changes to a word document on my pc (save it and the date changes everytime), I want a .exe file on the same computer to run. Is there any way or third party software, with which i can achieve this?

In Java, to create and show a new JFrame, I simply do this:
public static void main(String[] args)
{
new JFrame().setVisible(true);
}
However, I have seen many people doing it like this:
public static void main(String[] args)
{
EventQueue.invokeLater(new Runnable()
{
public void run()
{
new JFrame().setVisible(true);
}
});
}
Why? Are there any advantages?
Suppose I want to run the following method foo() once every hour in Grails:
class FooController {
public static void foo() {
// stuff that needs to be done once every hour (at *:00)
}
}
What is the easiest/recommended way to set up such cron-like scheduling in Grails?

I cannot run/debug only a single unit test using Ctrl + R, T after installing Resharper 5 (used to be able to do that before). It now runs all of my unit tests. Any idea what is going on?
I have a Makefile which runs fine from a bash shell, but fails to run from Eclipse. This is because the path I am setting in my .bash_profile is not getting used.
What is the best way of making this happen? Is there somewhere else I could put the path, to make sure it is invoked in non-interactive shells (which is I assume how eclipse is running make)?
