  • Linq Query Giving Error

    - by user275561
    I am getting this error when I use the Linq expression of var emp = _testModel.Where(m => m.Date == DateTime.Now).Select(m=>m); 'System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable' does not contain a definition for 'System' and no extension method 'System' accepting a first argument of type 'System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?). I have google'd and looked everywhere by I have no idea what it is talking about? It doesn't throw an exception. The only way I found out about this was stepping through the expression.

  • Find host from ItemContainerGenerator.itemChanged Event

    - by Mohanavel
    I'm working on C# 4.0, WPF. I have three ListView, and all three control have the same ItemContainerGenerator_ItemsChanged" event. So my problem is, when ever the event triggered, i have to find the host. lst1.ItemContainerGenerator.ItemsChanged += new System.Windows.Controls.Primitives.ItemsChangedEventHandler(ItemContainerGenerator_ItemsChanged); lst2.ItemContainerGenerator.ItemsChanged += new System.Windows.Controls.Primitives.ItemsChangedEventHandler(ItemContainerGenerator_ItemsChanged); lst3.ItemContainerGenerator.ItemsChanged += new System.Windows.Controls.Primitives.ItemsChangedEventHandler(ItemContainerGenerator_ItemsChanged); void ItemContainerGenerator_ItemsChanged(object sender, System.Windows.Controls.Primitives.ItemsChangedEventArgs e) { //TODO: Find host and proceed. **REAL Problem** // ListViewItem's Visible property has been set based on the deletion button click, // So at one place i have to get the count of rows which are visible and proceed // with related buttons enable/disable operation. }

  • Does ASP.NET Tracing work in MVC2 Views?

    - by AUSTX_RJL
    I have a VS 2010 MVC2 .NET 4.0 web application. ASP.NET tracing is enabled both in the Page directive (Trace="true) and in the Web.config: <trace enabled="true" requestLimit="10" pageOutput="true" traceMode="SortByTime" localOnly="true" writeToDiagnosticsTrace="true" /> A standard trace listener is also configured in the Web.config: <trace autoflush="true" indentsize="4"> <listeners> <add name="WebPageTrace" type="System.Web.WebPageTraceListener, System.Web, Version=4.0.30319.1, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a" /> <add name="TextWriterTrace" type="System.Diagnostics.TextWriterTraceListener" initializeData="textListener.log" /> </listeners> </trace> Tracing works fine from the controller, but when I add a Trace in the View (.aspx) nothing ever shows: <% System.Diagnostics.Trace.WriteLine("Message System.Diagnostics.Trace from View"); %> <% Page.Trace.Write("Message Page.Trace from View"); %> Is this supposed to work? Is there something else that is needed to enable Tracing from a View? Thanks

  • Anonymous code blocks in Groovy

    - by piepera
    Is there a way to use anonymous code blocks in Groovy? For example, I'm trying to translate the following Java code into Groovy: { int i = 0; System.out.println(i); } int i = 10; System.out.println(i); The closest translation I can come up with is the following: boolean groovyIsLame = true; if (groovyIsLame) { int i = 0; System.out.println(i); } int i = 10; System.out.println(i); I know anonymous code blocks are often kind of an antipattern. But having variables with names like "inputStream0" and "inputStream1" is an antipattern too, so for this code I'm working on, anonymous code blocks would be helpful.

  • Partitioning a table in mysql after creation

    - by erik
    I have a table with a bunch of data already in it. I know how to create a partitioned table or alter an already existing partitioned table, but can I add partitions to a table after it has been created, has data in it, without losing the data? The other option is to dump all the data, recreate the table with the partitions and then insert it all back it. Is that the only way? Thanks.

  • Is there a best coding style for indentations (same line, next line)?

    - by Luis Soeiro
    I prefer Pascal-like coding style, where the beginning and ending of a code block are on the same column. I think that it is easier to read and to handle cut and paste than the other kind of coding style. The style I prefer (Pascal-like): void fooBar(String s) { int a; int length=s.length(); for (int i=0;i<length;i++) { if (i>10) { System.out.println(i); System.out.println(s.charAt(i)); } } } The style that was adopted by the Java community: void fooBar(String s) { int a; int length=s.length(); for (int i=0;i<length;i++){ if (i>10){ System.out.println(i); System.out.println(s.charAt(i)); } } } So why do you use one type or the other (please cite an objective reason)?

  • Java: Multithreading & UDP Socket Programming

    - by Ravi
    I am new to multithreading & socket programming in Java. I would like to know what is the best way to implement 2 threads - one for receiving a socket and one for sending a socket. If what I am trying to do sounds absurd, pls let me know why! The code is largely inspired from Sun's tutorials online.I want to use Multicast sockets so that I can work with a multicast group. class server extends Thread { static protected MulticastSocket socket = null; protected BufferedReader in = null; public InetAddress group; private static class receive implements Runnable { public void run() { try { byte[] buf = new byte[256]; DatagramPacket pkt = new DatagramPacket(buf,buf.length); socket.receive(pkt); String received = new String(pkt.getData(),0,pkt.getLength()); System.out.println("From server@" + received); Thread.sleep(1000); } catch (IOException e) { System.out.println("Error:"+e); } catch (InterruptedException e) { System.out.println("Error:"+e); } } } public server() throws IOException { super("server"); socket = new MulticastSocket(4446); group = InetAddress.getByName("239.231.12.3"); socket.joinGroup(group); } public void run() { while(1>0) { try { byte[] buf = new byte[256]; DatagramPacket pkt = new DatagramPacket(buf,buf.length); //String msg = reader.readLine(); String pid = ManagementFactory.getRuntimeMXBean().getName(); buf = pid.getBytes(); pkt = new DatagramPacket(buf,buf.length,group,4446); socket.send(pkt); Thread t = new Thread(new receive()); t.start(); while(t.isAlive()) { t.join(1000); } sleep(1); } catch (IOException e) { System.out.println("Error:"+e); } catch (InterruptedException e) { System.out.println("Error:"+e); } } //socket.close(); } public static void main(String[] args) throws IOException { new server().start(); //System.out.println("Hello"); } }

  • Static libraries in version-cross-compiled program

    - by Brian Postow
    I have a unix command line app (with big nasty makefile) that I'm trying to run on a mac. I am compiling it on a 10.6 system, with all of the appropriate libraries of course. The deployment environment is a 10.5 system, with no extra libraries. I compiled without -dynamic, and it appears to have static libraries, correctly. When I run it on the 10.6 system, it works. However, when I run it on the 10.5 system, I get: dyld: unknown required load command 0x80000022 I got this same error when I compiled things for the 10.6 system using the 10.5 xcode, so it looks like a version mis-match type problem. However, I used gcc-4.0, and $CFLAGS = -isysroot /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.5.sdk -mmacosx-version-min=10.5 so it SHOULD be set up for 10.5... any ideas? thanks Editing an ancient question: I have the exact same problem on a different computer. This time I am at 10.5.8, fully update, the same executable works on 10.6 still. Has anyone had any luck with this in the months since I asked this?

  • How are classes more secure than structures ?

    - by Asad Hanif
    Structure's member are public by default ans class's members are private by default. We can access private data members through a proper channel (using member function). If we have access to member functions we can read/write data in private data member, so how it is secure...we are accessing it and we are changing data too.....

  • nUnit Assert.That(method,Throws.Exception) not catching exceptions

    - by JasonM
    Hi Everyone, Can someone tell me why this unit test that checks for exceptions fails? Obviously my real test is checking other code but I'm using Int32.Parse to show the issue. [Test] public void MyTest() { Assert.That(Int32.Parse("abc"), Throws.Exception.TypeOf<FormatException>()); } The test fails, giving this error. Obviously I'm trying to test for this exception and I think I'm missing something in my syntax. • lapply slower than for-loop when used for a BiomaRt query. Is that expected?

    - by ptocquin
    I would like to query a database using BiomaRt package. I have loci and want to retrieve some related information, let say description. I first try to use lapply but was surprise by the time needed for the task to be performed. I thus tried a more basic for-loop and get a faster result. Is that expected or is something wrong with my code or with my understanding of apply ? I read other posts dealing with *apply vs for-loop performance (Here, for example) and I was aware that improved performance should not be expected but I don't understand why performance here is actually lower. Here is a reproducible example. 1) Loading the library and selecting the database : library("biomaRt") athaliana <- useMart("plants_mart_14") athaliana <- useDataset("athaliana_eg_gene",mart=athaliana) 2) Querying the database : loci <- c("at1g01300", "at1g01800", "at1g01900", "at1g02335", "at1g02790", "at1g03220", "at1g03230", "at1g04040", "at1g04110", "at1g05240" ) I create a function for the use in lapply : foo <- function(loci) { getBM("description","tair_locus",loci,athaliana) } When I use this function on the first element : > system.time(foo(cwp_loci[1])) utilisateur système écoulé 0.020 0.004 1.599 When I use lapply to retrieve the data for all values : > system.time(lapply(loci, foo)) utilisateur système écoulé 0.220 0.000 16.376 I then created a new function, adding a for-loop : foo2 <- function(loci) { for (i in loci) { getBM("description","tair_locus",loci[i],athaliana) } } Here is the result : > system.time(foo2(loci)) utilisateur système écoulé 0.204 0.004 10.919 Of course, this will be applied to a big list of loci, so the best performing option is needed. I thank you for assistance. EDIT Following recommendation of @MartinMorgan Simply passing the vector loci to getBM greatly improves the query efficiency. Simpler is better. > system.time(lapply(loci, foo)) utilisateur système écoulé 0.236 0.024 110.512 > system.time(foo2(loci)) utilisateur système écoulé 0.208 0.040 116.099 > system.time(foo(loci)) utilisateur système écoulé 0.028 0.000 6.193

Basically what i'm looking for, is a way that i can load with my applications load, keep all the data in my app, and when the data in my app changes just update the storage location.

  • turn array into object active record can use

    - by stormdrain
    I'm running a query and then decrypting it in the controller. After it is decrypted I was putting the results into an array and sending that to the view. The problem is with this solution I need to rewrite all of my views to parse the arrays sent instead of the active record objects sent before. Is there a way to turn the decrypted array back into an object that will work with existing active record code in the view? Before Controller: $name = $this->Clients_model->getNameData('*','client_id='.$clid,''); $data['name'] = $name; $this->load->view('names/name_view',$data); View: if($name->num_rows()) > 0){ foreach($name->result() as $row){ echo $row->data; [...] Now Controller: $name = $this->Clients_model->getNameData('*','client_id='.$clid,''); $nameArray= array(); foreach ($name->result() as $row){ $x = $row; $keys = array('id','client_id'); $unenc = array(); foreach ($x as $key=>$value){ if(! in_array($key, $keys)){ $unenc[$key]=$this->encrypt->decode($value,$this->e_key); }else{ $unenc[$key]=$value; } } array_push($nameArray,$unenc); } //Creates an object with the data, but doesn't work with CI active record //foreach ($nameArray as $akey => $aval) { // $namea -> {$akey} = $aval; //} //return $data; $data['name'] = $nameArray; $this->load->view('names/name_view',$data); View: if(count($name) > 0){ foreach($name as $key=>$row){ echo $row['data']; [...] In the second (now) controller there is some commented out code that will make an object, but it doesn't behave as expected with active record. Is there a way to take the $nameArray() array and change it into an object that will work with existing view code (such as the code in the 'before:view' above)? Thanks!

  • Cannot Generate ParameterSetMetadata While Programmatically Creating A Parameter Block

    - by Steven Murawski
    I'm trying to programmatically create a parameter block for a function ( along the lines of this blog post ). I'm starting with a CommandMetadata object (from an existing function). I can create the ParameterMetadata object and set things like the ParameterType, the name, as well as some attributes. The problem I'm running into is that when I use the GetParamBlock method of the ProxyCommand class, none of my attributes that I set in the Attributes collection of the ParameterMetadata are generated. The problem this causes is that when the GetParamBlock is called, the new parameter is not annotated with the appropriate Parameter attribute. Example: function test { [CmdletBinding()] param ( [Parameter()] $InitialParameter) Write-Host "I don't matter." } $MetaData = New-Object System.Management.Automation.CommandMetaData (get-command test) $NewParameter = New-Object System.Management.Automation.ParameterMetadata 'NewParameter' $NewParameter.ParameterType = [string[]] $Attribute = New-Object System.Management.Automation.ParameterAttribute $Attribute.Position = 1 $Attribute.Mandatory = $true $Attribute.ValueFromPipeline = $true $NewParameter.Attributes.Add($Attribute) $MetaData.Parameters.Add('NewParameter', $NewParameter) [System.Management.Automation.ProxyCommand]::GetParamBlock($MetaData)
