  • Is there a way to obtain the raw image from a Norton Ghost file ?

    - by amo-ej1
I have a Norton Ghost .gho file, and basicly I want to extract the raw image out of this, for example to use with with tools like dd. (So using any symantec/windows tools is not an option). Is there any open source tool which can deal with these .gho files ? (Note: the.gho file I'm using is a sector based one, and not a file-based one, which implies that things such as Ghost explorer won't work either (see this page)

  • 403 forbidden root on apache mac os x 10.7, but can access user directories

    - by philosophistry
When I access http://localhost/ I get 403 Forbidden, but if I access http://localhost/~username it serves up pages. Things I've tried: - checking error logs - swapping out with original httpd conf files - changing DocumentRoot to my user directory (after all that should work if I can access ~username) I've seen 30 plus Q&A sites that all point to people having trouble with user directories being forbidden. I have the opposite problem, and so I'm tearing my hair out here.

  • How to disable the annoying pop-up window after automatic updates are installed

    - by Mehper C. Palavuzlar
I'm running Windows XP SP3. After automatic updates are installed, there shows up an annoying pop-up window every 10 minutes that tells me whether I want to restart the machine now or later. This interrupts my work as it pops up in the middle of an important process. I don't want to disable automatic updates. I just want to disable this annoying pop-up window and restart the machine without having to see this warning. Thanks.

  • How can I create a directory symbolic link on Windows Server 2003?

    - by SofaKng
I'm trying to create a directory symbolic link under Windows Server 2003 but I'm not having any luck. I've tried junction.exe (Sysinternals), ln.exe, and linkd.exe (Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit). I'd like c:\folder\subfolder to link to \fileserver\realSubfolder This works perfectly fine under Windows 7 (using mklink.exe) but I can't get this to work under Windows Server 2003. Can anybody help me out?

  • How to attach files to an email in Windows Phone 7.5 Mango

    - by Vaibhav Garg
In the default email client in Windows Phone 7.5 Mango, how can arbitrary files(.zip, .mp3, .txt, .pdf etc) be attached. As the storage is sand-boxed, the file handler can implement hooks to the email client, as MS-Office does and Adobe Reader doesn't, but the email client can not access files in the Phone's storage. Is there a way, or a work around? I my usage pattern, I tend to send a lot of pdfs, and am unable to do that!

    - by Tim
Are there any master technicians (or shops) out there in NY/NJ who would be willing to work with my two IBM Thinkpad T40 laptops? They both seem to have hardware/mechanical problems and I am sure can be fixed if inspected by the right ppl. But I don't to pay unless someone can fix them. Do you know anyone in NY/NJ who does business such that they won't charge me anything if they can't fix my laptop?

  • Technet and trying to install Windows Server 2008 R2

    - by Simon E
I'm a bit new to Technet and just trying to work my way round things. Firstly I want to install Windows Server 2008 R2 as I believe this is the latest edition - however when I look to download it from Technet, it will only allow me to download the Windows Automated Installation Kit. Does this have Windows Server 2008 R2 embedded in WAIK or is there some other extra step to do? Or am I just doing this all wrong :)

  • DNS pointing to different IPs from different parts of the world

    - by David
I have a domain name that for some reason is pointing to different servers depending on where you are located in the world. What is odd is that I have another domain that has the same DNS servers, which points to the same server regardless of your location (which is the way it's mean't to work). Any ideas why the first domain is pointing to different IP addresses for different people?

  • One user always unsuccessfull in logging into the MFP via DSS

    - by jherlitz
We use HP M4345 MFP's here with the HP DSS software. All the users can log into the MFP except for one particular user. I haven't been able to find out why. We are leaning towards her active directory account might be goofed. However I hate to delete the account and recreate it as it will cause a lot of extra work. Looking for any advice before we have to proceed down that road.

  • Error: Multilib version problems found

    - by Kovács Ákos
What causes this error? Error: Multilib version problems found. This often means that the root cause is something else and multilib version checking is just pointing out that there is a problem. Eg.: 1. You have an upgrade for glibc which is missing some dependency that another package requires. Yum is trying to solve this by installing an older version of glibc of the different architecture. If you exclude the bad architecture yum will tell you what the root cause is (which package requires what). You can try redoing the upgrade with --exclude glibc.otherarch ... this should give you an error message showing the root cause of the problem. 2. You have multiple architectures of glibc installed, but yum can only see an upgrade for one of those arcitectures. If you don't want/need both architectures anymore then you can remove the one with the missing update and everything will work. 3. You have duplicate versions of glibc installed already. You can use "yum check" to get yum show these errors. ...you can also use --setopt=protected_multilib=false to remove this checking, however this is almost never the correct thing to do as something else is very likely to go wrong (often causing much more problems). Protected multilib versions: glibc-2.12-1.107.el6_4.5.i686 != glibc-2.12-1.107.el6_4.2.x86_64 Error: Protected multilib versions: db4-4.7.25-18.el6_4.i686 != db4-4.7.25-17.el6.x86_64 You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem ** Found 10 pre-existing rpmdb problem(s), 'yum check' output follows: 32:bind-libs-9.8.2-0.17.rc1.el6_4.6.x86_64 is a duplicate with 32:bind-libs-9.8.2-0.17.rc1.el6_4.5.x86_64 chkconfig-1.3.49.3-2.el6_4.1.x86_64 is a duplicate with chkconfig-1.3.49.3-2.el6.x86_64 db4-4.7.25-18.el6_4.x86_64 is a duplicate with db4-4.7.25-17.el6.x86_64 12:dhcp-common-4.1.1-34.P1.el6_4.1.x86_64 is a duplicate with 12:dhcp-common-4.1.1-34.P1.el6.centos.x86_64 glibc-2.12-1.107.el6_4.5.x86_64 is a duplicate with glibc-2.12-1.107.el6_4.2.x86_64 glibc-common-2.12-1.107.el6.x86_64 has missing requires of glibc = ('0', '2.12', '1.107.el6') glibc-common-2.12-1.107.el6_4.2.x86_64 is a duplicate with glibc-common-2.12-1.107.el6.x86_64 glibc-common-2.12-1.107.el6_4.5.x86_64 is a duplicate with glibc-common-2.12-1.107.el6_4.2.x86_64 krb5-libs-1.10.3-10.el6_4.6.x86_64 is a duplicate with krb5-libs-1.10.3-10.el6_4.4.x86_64 tzdata-2013g-1.el6.noarch is a duplicate with tzdata-2013c-2.el6.noarch
