• jQuery $.ajax Not Working in IE8 but it works on FireFox & Chrome

• Initializing links in jqtouch in AJAX loaded content

  I have an iphone web app built in jqtouch, when content is loaded by links ("a" tags) then any content on the next page is parsed by jqtouch and any links are initialized. However, when I load content via an AJAX call and append() it to an element then any links in that content are NOT initialized by jqtouch. Thus any clicks on those links are full-blown clicks to a new resource and are not handled by jqtouch, so at that point you've effectively broken out of jqtouch. • Automapper use in a MVVM application

  I am building a MVVM application. The model / entity (I am using NHibernate) is already done, and I am thinking of using AutoMapper to map between the ViewModel and Model. How have you been using Automapper in a MVVM app? Please help!

• AS 400 Performance from .Net iSeries Provider

  Hey all, First off, I am not an AS 400 guy - at all. So please forgive me for asking any noobish questions here. Basically, I am working on a .Net application that needs to access the AS400 for some real-time data. Although I have the system working, I am getting very different performance results between queries. Typically, when I make the 1st request against a SPROC on the AS400, I am seeing ~ 14 seconds to get the full data set. After that initial call, any subsequent calls usually only take ~ 1 second to return. This performance improvement remains for ~ 20 mins or so before it takes 14 seconds again. The interesting part with this is that, if the stored procedure is executed directly on the iSeries Navigator, it always returns within milliseconds (no change in response time). I wonder if it is a caching / execution plan issue but I can only apply my SQL SERVER logic to the AS400, which is not always a match. Any suggestions on what I can do to recieve a more consistant response time or simply insight as to why the AS400 is acting in this manner when I was using the iSeries Data Provider for .Net? Is there a better access method that I should use? • MP3 Decoding on Android

  Hi. We're implementing a program for Android phones that plays audio streamed from the internet. Here's approximately what we do: Download a custom encrypted format. Decrypt to get chunks of regular MP3 data. Decode MP3 data to raw PCM data in a memory buffer. Pipe the raw PCM data to an AudioTrack Our target devices so far are Droid and Nexus One. Everything works great on Nexus One, but the MP3 decode is too slow on Droid. The audio playback starts to skip if we put the Droid under load. We are not permitted to decode the MP3 data to SD card, but I know that's not our problem anyways. We didn't write our own MP3 decoder, but used MPADEC (http://sourceforge.net/projects/mpadec/). It's free and was easy to integrate with our program. We compile it with the NDK. After exhaustive analysis with various profiling tools, we're convinced that it's this decoder that is falling behind. Here's the options we're thinking about: Find another MP3 decoder that we can compile with the Android NDK. This MP3 decoder would have to be either optimized to run on mobile ARM devices or maybe use integer-only math or some other optimizations to increase performance. Since the built-in Android MediaPlayer service will take URLs, we might be able to implement a tiny HTTP server in our program and serve the MediaPlayer with the decrypted MP3s. That way we can take advantage of the built-in MP3 decoder. Get access to the built-in MP3 decoder through the NDK. I don't know if this is possible.   Hi all, I have an application that uses SQLXML to access data on the database. We have it working on a Windows 2003 server and SQL Server 2005. Now the client wants to install it on Windows 2008 and SQL Server 2008 and we are getting errors like: Microsoft.Data.SqlXml.SqlXmlException: Class not registered --- System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80040154): Class not registered at Microsoft.Data.SqlXml.Common.UnsafeNativeMethods. ISQLXMLCommandManagedInterface.ExecuteToOutputStream() at Microsoft.Data.SqlXml.SqlXmlCommand.innerExecute(Stream strm) ... etc etc This is driving me crazy. SQLXML is quite an obsolete technology, and we are trying to use it with the latest SO. I can't find official information about SQLXML and Windows 2008, it seems it's not officially supported but they don't say it's not supported either. The SQLXML4.0SP1 installation seems to work fine, but it seems like it fails on runtime. Do you have any ideas? Has someone tried anything like this?

  I am encountering unexpected behaviour using Linq-to-sql DataContext. When I run my application locally it works as expected however after deploying to a test server which runs IIS7, I get an error Login failed for user ‘DOMAIN\MACHINENAME$’ when attempting to open objects from the DataContext. • WCF DataContract with readonly properties

  Hi, I'm trying to return a complex type from a service method in WCF. I'm using C# and .NET 4. This complex type is meant to be invariant (the same way .net strings are). If I try to define only getters on properties I get a run time error. I guess this is because no setters causes serialization to fail. Still, I think this type should be invariant. Is there a way to make readonly properties on a WCF DataContract? Is, how? If not, what would you suggest for this problem? Thanks, Asaf

• Android ProgressDialog Progress Bar doing things in the right order

  I just about got this, but I have a small problem in the order of things going off. Specifically, in my thread() I am setting up an array that is used by a Spinner. Problem is the Spinner is all set and done basically before my thread() is finished, so it sets itself up with a null array. How do I associate the spinners ArrayAdapter with an array that is being loaded by another thread? I've cut the code down to what I think is necessary to understand the problem, but just let me know if more is needed. The problem occurs whether or not refreshData() is called. Along the same lines, sometimes I want to call loadData() from the menu. Directly following loadData() if I try to fire a toast on the next line this causes a forceclose, which is also because of how I'm implementing ProgressDialog. • Delay rendering or force re-rendering in Flex

  Hi there, In my Flex application, using a custom control, I am making a JSON request to grab some data from the server. My rendering depends on this data such as knowing how many boxes to draw. How can I either force the rendering to wait until I've got the data before drawing to screen or have the boxes draw once we receive the data? I have an event listener for Event.COMPLETE for my JSON request and in there, I call methods that add to the control. I've tried invalidateDisplayList but that doesn't seem to do anything for me?

  Hi, I'm new to iPhone programming and I'm trying to use CHDataStructures in my project. But I'm running into some issues: When I directly try to build it right after download I get the error "Foundation/Foundation.h" no such file or directory. The Active SDK is "Use Base SDK" and the active architecture is x86_64. I believe I should set the Active SDK to the iPhone SDK but it isn't listed there; At some point (I don't remember how) I managed to tweak it and I got the iPhone SDK (simulator) in the active SDK but when I tried to build it I got the following error: "target specifies product type 'com.apple.product-type.framework', but there's no such product type for the 'iphonesimulator' platform"; And now I'm stuck.   SoapUi & database data needed Hi, In a J2ee project( spring ws + hibernate +postgresql+maven 2 + tomcat),We have created webservices with full crud operations. We are currently testing them with SoapUi (not yet integrated in the integration-test maven phase ). We need tomcat to test them. Actually before the phase test, with a maven plugin, only one time, some datas are injected in the database before the launch of all tests through many sql files. But the fact is that to test some webservices i need some data entry & their Id (primary key) A- What is the best way to create them ? 1- populate one of the previous .sql test file. But now we have a big dependency where i have to be careful to use the same id use in a insert in the sql file in SoapUi too. And if any developper drop the value, the test will broke. 2- create amongst the .sql file test a soapui.sql where ALL data needed for the Sopaui test will be concentrated. The advantage is that the maintenance will be much more easy. 3-because i have Ws available for all crud operations, i can create before any testsuite a previous testsuite called setup-testsuiteX. In this one, i will use those Ws to inject datas in the databse & save id in variables thanks to the feature "property transfer" 4-launch the soapui test xml file with a junit java test & in the Setup Method (we are using spring test), we will populate the database with DbUnit. Drawback: they are already data in the database & some conflicts may appear due to constraint.And now i have a dependency between: - dbUnit Xml file (with the value primary key) - sopaui test where THOSe value of primarykey will be used advantage: A automatic rollback is possible for DbUnit Data but i dont know how it will react because those data have been used with the Ws. 5- your suggestion ? better idea ? Testing those Ws create datas in the DB. How is the best way to remove them at the end ?
