    I have a Firebird database (running on server version 2.1.3) and am connecting to it with Delphi 2007 using the DBExpress objects (using the Interbase driver) One of my tables in the database looks something like this CREATE TABLE MYTABLE ( MYDATE Timestamp NOT NULL, MYINDEX Integer NOT NULL, ... Snip ... PRIMARY KEY (MYDATE ,MYINDEX) ); I can add to the table OK, and in Flame Robin it shows the timestamp field as having a millisecond value. But when I do a select all (select * from MYTABLE) on the table I can not get the millisecond value, as it is always returned as 000. This causes major problems as it is part of the primary key (unfortunately I didn't design the table and don't have authority to change it). I have tried the following to get the millisecond value: sql1.fieldbyname('MYDATE').AsDateTime; sql1.fieldbyname('MYDATE').AsSQLTimeStamp; sql1.fieldbyname('MYDATE').AsStirng; sql1.fieldbyname('MYDATE').AsFloat; But they all return 14/09/2009 14:25:06.000 when formatted. How do I retrieve the millisecond from a timestamp? UPDATE: In case this helps anyone in the future, here are the drivers I tried for DBExpress and the results. Embarcadero - dbExpress Driver for Firebird (Delphi 2010 Trial Version) - Milliseconds not supported in timestamps. Chau Chee Yang's - dbExpress Driver for Firebird (Delphi 2007) - Milliseconds not supported in timestamps. UpScene - InterXpress for Firebird (Delphi 2007) - Milliseconds are supported in timestamps.   • Kernel panic while loading Mac OS X on VMWare

    I have Mac OS X 10.6.3 and VMWare 7.1. Trying to run the OS X doesn't work - shortly after booting VMWare announces the machine's death with this pop-up message: The CPU has been disabled by the guest operating system. You will need to power off or reset the virtual machine at this point. The console has a more interesting announcement: The real-time clock was not properly initialized on your system! With a dump of the detected CPU speed (~2.9 GHz), FSB (~94 MHz) and bus ratio (31). Somehow, the code that panics is documented in an accidental .diff file here. Apparently, it commits seppuku if the bus ratio is greater than 30. I underclocked my E6500 to a slower speed, but this apparently didn't make any difference. I can think of two possibilities right now: The CPU info being read is constant, and defines the maximum ability of the CPU. In which case it appears I'm screwed. VMWare presents its own CPU info to the machine, which I can perhaps somehow change. If so, how? If these sound completely off, that's because I'm a real newbie in these matters. Here's hoping you guys can show me the light :-)

    i have been googling much for answer but only someone with real experience can help here. my aim is to have 5 monitors connected to one computer in 2x2 full screen on all 4 monitors (video wall) with same resolution, 4xfullHD for example, plus one -5th monitor as controling. Ati have example picture of this configuration here. I have no gaming nor 3d needs here. Simple desktop applications plus video streams. So because graphic cards for this are expensive, i need to find out before buying pros and cons of 2 possible solutions (1) Ati Eyefinity capable card(s) ...and (2) Nvidia Quadro/NVS card(s) with mosaic and/or nvidia surround technology. For example i can find that current good cards for this can be: Ati's 7870 eyefinity6 card, link here pros: one card can handle all 5 displays, cons: active DP adapters needed (sometimes with aditional usb-powering complication) Nvidia Qudro NVS 450, link here Both cards have DisplayPorts as outputs (my targets are HDMI displays), but as far i saw information is that Eyefinity needs "active DP-DVI/hdmi adapters" for outputs and they are little expensive...? Does nvidia have this limitation (active adapters) ??? And final question, is Ati Eyefinity still better for this purpose than Nvidia-mosaic by someone's real experience there.

  • Bad disk performance on HP DL360 with Smarty Array P400i RAID controller

    I have a HP DL360 server with 4x 146GB SAS disks and a Smart Array P400i RAID controller with 256MB cache. The disks are in RAID 5 (3 disks + 1 hot spare). The server is running VMware ESX 3i. The disk write performance is really bad. This has been a problem from the start. Any ideas?

My main goal here is to open port for regular browsing (80, 443), email (110, 25), etc just like isp does but i want to block p2p traffic. So I will need to open only few port.
