For instance, Model Resume contains variable number of Model Project 's,
What should be my models and relationships between them to achieve this ?
Thanks in advance.
I am looking for a way to retrieve the current exception without having to pass it as a variable.
Suppose the following code
public void MakeItFail()
{
try
{
throw new FailException();
}
catch // Yes I'm aware that this shouldn't be done, but I don't want to go through all the code base and change it
{
ShowMessage("An error occured");
}
}
public void ShowMessage(string message)
{
// How can I retrieve the exception here
}
In the watch window, I can use $exception to get the current exception. Is there is a code equivalent?
Here is my code:
I should get output of the department id (did) as an integer and the templatefilename (result) that is required.
The errors I get are: Conversion from string "ad" to type 'Integer' is not valid. I'm fairly new to asp.net and cannot see where the did variable picks up the "ad" string.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Given the Java code below, what's the closest you could represent this private static final variable in a Ruby class?
public class DeviceController
{
...
private static final Device myDevice = Device.getDevice("mydevice");
...
public static void main(String args[])
{
...
}
}
Hi, please see: http://pastebin.com/5za3uCi1
I'm quite new to php and I'm editing the ventrilo status script. What I'd like it to do is that it stores everything in one big variable for easy parsing instead of using separate echo's. Can someone tell me how I can accomplish this?
Thanks,
Dennis
With Rails, If I have a variable with HTML content, how do I output it, unencoded in my view file?
This code, for example:
<% my_variable = "<b>Some Bolded Text</b>" %>
<%= my_variable %>
Outputs:
<b>Some Bolded Text</b>
In the process of automating some code, I am looking to call upon a function based on what a string is.
For example, I have a variable $somevar which is set to the string "This". Now I want to run a function doThis();
So, I was hoping I could write do.$somevar($var,$var2) . I want it to run doThis($var1,$var2).
Is this possible?
Here is the situation
I create a instance of a class
$newobj = new classname1;
Then I have another class writtern below and I want to this class to access the object above
class newclass {
public function test() {
echo $newobj->display();
}
}
It is not allowed, is there a way define a variable globally through a class?
In Oracle I've created a data type:
TABLE of VARCHAR2(200)
I want to have a variable of this type within a Stored Procedure (defined locally, not as an actual table in the DB) and fill it with data.
Some online samples show how I'd use my type if it was filled and passed as a parameter to the stored procedure:
SELECT column_value currVal FROM table(pMyPassedParameter)
However what I want is to fill it during the PL/SQL code itself, with INSERT statements.
Anyone knows the syntax of this?
Hello,
How would I pass a Python variable to the Bash shell? It should work like this:
foo="./RetVar.py 42"
Replace the double-quotes with `s
I have tried printing and sys.exiting the result, but to no avail. How would I accomplish my goal?
I have this :
var MyObject = function(){ this.url
= "monurl"; this.mavar = ""; this.Load = function(){
var callback = {
success: function(o){
mavar = o.responseXML.getElementsByTagName("montag")[0].firstChild.nodeValue;
}
}
YAHOO.util.Connect.asyncRequest('GET',url,callback);
} }
the mavar variable is not accessible. How can I do this ?
Coming from a .NET background I'm use to reusing string variables for storage, so is the code below likely to cause a memory leak? The code is targeting OS X on the iphone/itouch so no automatic GC.
-(NSString*) stringExample
{
NSString *result = @"example";
result = [result stringByAppendingString:@" test"]; // where does "example" go?
return result;
}
What confuses me is an NSStrings are immutable, but you can reuse an 'immutable' variable with no problem.
I have a variable $link_item, it's used with echo and gives the strings like
<span class="name">Google</span>http://google.com
How to remove "<span class="name">Google</span>" from string?
It should give just "http://google.com".
Heard it can be done with regex(), please help.
This is quite a quick question. I currently use
do_this if (testvar ||= false)
Which works just fine.
But this approach unnerves me because while fast, it does not short-circuit like defined?(testvar) && testvar does, and it instantiates and assigns a value to a local variable that is subsequently never used, which seems inefficient.
I enjoy the very reasonable fact that instance variables are nil before assignment, but I'd like for the situation to be just as easy for local variables.
I have a script im writing. Here is whats happening. There is a while loop. In the while loop is a variable which is constant to X. How do i make X change from line one, line two, etc for each cycle of the while loop and pull X from a .txt file. Everything is in root. Thanks
I am curious if there is any history behind why the ^ character is used to escape the special characters <, , |, &, and ^ in environment variable names in Windows instead the '\' character that is typically used to escape special characters.
Please note that I realize there may be no reason for this, but I'd be interested to hear if there is a reason.
I am trying to pass a variable "PIN2" that I am retrieving like below to a SelectCommand statement in a asp SqlDataSource tag
<%
Dim PIN As String = Request.ServerVariables("LOGON_USER")
Dim PIN2 As String = Right(PIN, 6)
%>
Thanks
At the moment I have a regular expression that looks like this:
^(cat|dog|bird){1}(cat|dog|bird)?(cat|dog|bird)?$
It matches at least 1, and at most 3 instances of a long list of words and makes the matching words for each group available via the corresponding variable.
Is there a way to revise this so that I can return the result for each word in the string without specifying the number of groups beforehand?
^(cat|dog|bird)+$
works but only returns the last match separately , because there is only one group.
I was reading through my daily doze of RSS when I noticed a link to the python compiler documentation where class names like assList, assName and assTuple exist. While starting names with 'ass' is perfectly acceptable to me, it just sparked this idea that there probably exist much better examples of this.
Have you personally used or otherwise encountered any inappropriate function or variable names?
Personally I have used 'crap' and 'moo' for temporary purposes, forgot them and at a later point they came too integrated for me to bother with fixing them.
Is there any way in F# how to get a name of a variable passed into a function?
Example:
let velocity = 5
let fn v = v.ParentName
let name = fn velocity // this would return "velocity" as a string
Thank you in advance
I have an ASP control custom built and I need to pass a value taken from a session variable to it like so:
<custom:control id='mycontrol' value="+Session['myControlValue']+">
...
</custom:control>
the above code obviously doesn't work, I need a way to insert the Session value in the control in this way somehow, can anyone help?
I had a read of the documentation, but couldn't see an example of how it would be possible to use the variable in traditional PHP style of $_POST['var']
I'm pretty sure my URL is legit:
domain.com/module/controller/action/var/value/
Using the above as an example:
$var didn't work
$_POST['var'] didn't work
How is it done?
I have "Man" class which also has 2 variable : "description" and "name". At a point, I created Man class and initialize with its own variables (description and name) and pass it to NSMutableArray "collector". How can I access description now ? I tried but i could not get the property
