  • C++, Qt - How do I get rid of dll dependencies?

    - by HardCoder1986
Hello! I have compiled my Qt application and now have the following question - now my built project requires QtCore4.dll and QtGui4.dll to be located at the same folder where the .exe file is. (I built my project using MSVS2008 with Qt addon) Q: Is there any way to combine my final application with these .dll files so that they make one large .exe-file? (I simply don't want to have another bunch of dll files with my release - app) Thank you.

    - by Subhen
    Hi, I want to define the background for my application in App.XAML. The background was previously defined in another xaml page,which have multiple Grids inside it like following: <Grid x:Key="GridGeneric" d:LayoutOverrides="Width, Height"> <Grid.Background> <LinearGradientBrush EndPoint="0.5,1" StartPoint="0.5,0"> <GradientStop Color="#FF00172E" Offset="1"/> <GradientStop Color="#FF004074" Offset="0.433"/> <GradientStop Color="#FF081316"/> <GradientStop Color="#FF001D3F" Offset="0.215"/> <GradientStop Color="#FF002043" Offset="0.818"/> <GradientStop Color="#FF003B6C" Offset="0.642"/> </LinearGradientBrush> </Grid.Background> <Grid> <Grid.Background> <RadialGradientBrush RadiusY="0.973" GradientOrigin="0.497,-0.276" RadiusX="1.003"> <GradientStop Color="#FFB350EE" Offset="0"/> <GradientStop Color="#001D3037" Offset="0.847"/> </RadialGradientBrush> </Grid.Background> </Grid> ------ ----- </Grid> Now I want to place the same in my App.xaml like following: <Style x:Key="backgroundStyle" TargetType="Grid"> <Setter Property="Background"> <Setter.Value> <Grid> <Grid.Background> <LinearGradientBrush EndPoint="0.5,1" StartPoint="0.5,0"> <GradientStop Color="#FF00172E" Offset="1"/> <GradientStop Color="#FF004074" Offset="0.433"/> <GradientStop Color="#FF081316"/> <GradientStop Color="#FF001D3F" Offset="0.215"/> <GradientStop Color="#FF002043" Offset="0.818"/> <GradientStop Color="#FF003B6C" Offset="0.642"/> </LinearGradientBrush> </Grid.Background> <Grid> <Grid.Background> <RadialGradientBrush RadiusY="0.973" GradientOrigin="0.497,-0.276" RadiusX="1.003"> <GradientStop Color="#FFB350EE" Offset="0"/> <GradientStop Color="#001D3037" Offset="0.847"/> </RadialGradientBrush> </Grid.Background> </Grid> --------- --------- </Grid> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> But While doing this I am getting the following Exception.

  • Limits of GUIs in C#

    - by xarzu
What are the limits of writing a C# app when you want a truly impressive GUI? At what point does one have to leave Visual C# behind and go into WPF? Also, if I choose to go with WPF, do I have to ditch the Visual Studio IDE and go with Expression Studio?

  • Downside to including headers in every source file (Objective-C)

    - by Michael Waterfall
I'm currently including my AppDelegate.h and all of my category headers into every one of my source files using the MyApp_Prefix.pch prefix header, instead of manually #importing them only where they are used. The category methods and lots of compiler #define's in my app delegate are used in lots of places in my code. Is there any down side to this? Is it just that compilation will take longer?

  • Determine when a loud sound is played in C#

    - by Eric P
I want to determine if another program plays a sound above a certain threshold. I am not looking for checking the volume settings on the computer or anything like that. I really just need to see if any app plays something higher then what I am expecting. Anyone know if this is possible or how to do it?

  • Update Label text from XML

    - by kpk77
Hi, I have an XML will is parsed and then fed to a bunch of Labels. I am trying to add a live element so that the labels refresh automatically from the XML. From what I've read this is possible using a tableView and [tableView reloadData] but the design dictates the use of labels. At the moment the labels only get updated on restarting the app, which is not ideal. Using ViewWillAppear is one option, but want to stick to using lables.

  • Should i use a C function or Obj-C Method?

    - by Daniel Granger
I'm about to create a function which adds to NSDateComponents together is there any advantage to putting this in a C style function or should it go in a Obj-C method? Is there ever a reason to use one rather then the other or should I always stick to Obj-C? BTW: Not that it makes any difference I'm sure but this is for an app on the iPhone Many thanks

  • How do I uninstall the .NET framework?

    - by spelunk
I'm having a problem running a VS 2005 app on some machines and not others. I looked up the error message on google and found a post by someone who had the same error and fixed it by uninstalling and reinstalling the .NET framework. When I try to do that, Windows won't let me because it is in use. Am I expected to uninstall everything that is using the framework first, then uninstall the framework, then reinstall, etc.? Does anyone know of an easier way?

  • xml cache on iphone

    - by dubbeat
Hi, Could somebody suggest a technique or class library to read up on for XML Caching on the iphone? The biggest lag in my app is the XML being downloaded from the server. If a user views a screen the xml has to be downloaded and parsed and theres a wait of a few seconds. If they leave the screen and come back to it again they have to wait all over again which is kinda crappy.

  • Should I use AJAX or get every data beforehand

    - by rix501
I have a web app where I need to change a drop down list dynamically depending on another drop down list. I have two options: Get all the data beforehand with PHP and "manage" it later with Javascript. Or get the data the user wants through AJAX. The thing is, that the page loads with all the data by default and the user can later select a sub category to narrow the drop downs. Which of the two options are better (faster, less resource intensive)?
