JS screw ups give me the error 'must evaluate to a function' What else might be wrong with it?

  • PHP's SimpleXML not handling &#8217 ; properly

    I'm parsing an RSS feed that has an &#8217; in it. SimpleXML turns this into a ’. What can I do to stop this? Just to answer some of the questions that have come up - I'm pulling an RSS feed using CURL. If I output this directly to the browser, the &#8217; displays as ’ which is what's expected. When I create a new SimpleXMLElement using this, (e.g. $xml = new SimpleXmlElement($raw_feed); and dump the $xml variable, every instance of &#8217; is replaced with ’. It appears that SimpleXML is having trouble with UTF-8 ampersand encoded characters. (The XML declaration specifies UTF-8.) I do have control over the feed after CURL has retrieved the feed before it's used to construct a SimpleXML element.

  • Is it possible to stream a file to and from servers without holding the data in ram?

    Hi everyone! PHP question (new to PHP after 10 years of Perl, arrggghhh!). I have a 100mb file that I want to send to another server. I have managed to read the file in and "post" it without curl (cannot use curl for this app). Everything is working fine on smaller files. However, with the larger files, PHP complains about not being able to allocate memory. Is there a way to open a file, line by line, and send it as a post ALSO line by line? This way nothing is held in ram thus preventing my errors and getting around strict limitations. Chris

  • Rails choking on the content of this request because of protect_from_forgery

    I'm trying to simply test my RESTful API with cURL. Using the following invocation: curl -d "name=jimmy" -H "Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded" http://127.0.0.1:3000/people.xml -i Rails is dying though: ActionController::InvalidAuthenticityToken (ActionController::InvalidAuthenticityToken): :8:in `synchronize' Looks like it's running this through a protect_from_forgery filter. I thought protect_from_forgery is excluded for non-HTML HTTP POST/PUT/DELETE type requests? This is clearly targeting the XML format. If I pass actual XML content, it works. But my users will be submitting POST data as URL encoded parameters. I know all the various ways I can disable protect_from_forgery but what's the proper way of handling this? I want to leave it on so that when I do have HTML based forms and handle format.html, I don't forget to re-enable it for then. I want users to be able to make HTTP POST requests to my XML-based API though and not get bombarded with this.

    Hi there, to start off, I know C++, C#, Python, some Ruby, and basic Javascript. Anyway, my question revolves around how to interact with RESTful API's via Javascript. I haven't been able to find any good examples on various websites, and so I've come here. So my basic question is: How do I interact with RESTful API's via JS? And where can I find out how to implement OAuth in JS? I know how to get my keys and such, just not how to actually code them in. Below is an example of a twitter API status update run from my MAC terminal with curl: curl -u username:password -d "my tweet" http://api.twitter.com/1/statuses/update.json How can I implement this in Javascript (preferably with OAuth authentication)? What wrong with my payload? The response is get is: ["Name can't be blank","Workspace can't be blank"] which leads me to conclude that the authentication works but toggl cannot read my json object.

    I have a series of tests that I'm running for an Open Source Project, I'd like to get the status code of the curl request that is made to determine the difference of a code change breaking functionality vs a code change breaking the site completely. class ExampleTest extends PHPUnit_Extensions_Selenium2TestCase { public function setUp() { $this->setBrowser('firefox'); $this->setBrowserUrl('http://localhost'); } public function testForError() { $this->url('/'); $this->assertNotEmpty($this->title()); } } That's an example of how I'm going about it now, but I'd like to have some concrete information.   • Has anyone combined soap.py or suds with python-ntlm?

    I'd like to replace an app's current (badly busted and crufty) cURL-based (cURL command-line based!) SOAP client with suds or soap.py. Trouble is, we have to contact an MS CRM service, and therefore must use NTLM. For a variety of reasons the NTLM proxy is a bit of a pain to use, so I'm looking into python-ntlm to provide that support. Can suds or soap.py be made to use this authentication method? If so, how? If not, any other suggestions would be fantastic.

    I am using JanRain OpenID Library PHP. I am trying out the consumer example in /example/consumer. Services like Google (or Yahoo) are not working, while other's like myopenid.com, blogger are working. My PHPinfo says that cURL and OpenSSL is enabled. Note that I also tried using LightOpenID Library (gitorious.org/lightopenid) which works with Google. Unfortunately, it doesn't work on server with php safe_mode On, it requires cURL. So I cannot use on all servers. JanRain's Library works on the server but not with Google.

  • Rails & Twilio: Receiving nil when storing texts received from Twilio

    I have set up the request URL in my Twilio account to have it POST to: myurl.com/receivetext. It appears to be successfully posting because when I check the database using the Heroku console I see the following: Post id: 5, body: nil, from: nil, created_at: "2012-06-14 17:28:01", updated_at: "2012-06-14 17:28:01" Why is it receiving nil for the body and from attributes? I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong! The created and updated at are storing successfully but the two attributes that I care about continue to be stored as nil. Here's the Receive Text controller which is receiving the Post request from Twilio: class ReceiveTextController < ApplicationController def index @post=Post.create!(body: params[:Body], from: params[:From]) end end EDIT: When I dump the params I receive the following: "{\"controller\"=\"receive_text\", \"action\"=\"index\"}" I attained this by inserting the following into my ReceiveText controller. @params = Post.create!(body: params.inspect, from: "Dumping Params") and then opening up the Heroku console to find the database entry with from = "Dumping Params". I simulated a Twilio request with a curl with the following command curl -X POST myurl.com/receivetext route -d 'AccountSid=AC123&From=%2B19252411234' I checked the production database again and noticed that the curl request did work when obtaining the FROM atribute. It stored the following: params.inspect returned "{\"AccountSid\"=\"AC123\", \"From\"=\"+19252411234\", \"co..." I received a comment stating: "As long as twilio is hitting the same URL with the same method (GET/POST) it should be filling the params array as well" I have no idea how to make this comment actionable. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm very new to rails. Here's my database migration (I have both attributes set to string.   • Is there a way to attach Ruby Net::HTTP request to a specific IP address / network interface?

    Hello, Im looking a way to use different IP addresses for each GET request with standard Net::HTTP library. Server has 5 ip addresses and assuming that some API`s are blocking access when request limit per IP is reached. So, only way to do it - use another server. I cant find anything about it in ruby docs. For example, curl allows you to attach it to specific ip address (in PHP): $req = curl_init($url) curl_setopt($req, CURLOPT_INTERFACE, 'ip.address.goes.here'; $result = curl_exec($req); Is there any way to do it with Net::HTTP library? As alternative - CURB (ruby curl binding). But it will be the latest thing i`ll try. Suggestions / Ideas?

    I am using a loop and rcurl scrape data from multiple pages which seems to work fine at certain times but fails when there is a timeout due to the server not responding. I am using a timeout=30 which traps the timeout error however the program stops after the timeout. i would like the progrm to continue to the next page when the timeout occurrs but cant figureout how to do this? url = getCurlHandle(cookiefile = "", verbose = TRUE) Here is the statement I am using that causes the timeout. Am new to RESTful Web Services and am using JDK 1.6, Tomcat 7, ehCache, and JSON.     Hi, I'm a relative PHP newbie implementing a PayPal IPN listener and all seems to be working fine, except I dont really know how to check for a response code. I've tried something ugly with cURL but it doesn't work at all (I'm not understanding cURL). I've tried this piece of code that I grabbed from somewhere on the net: $fp = fsockopen('ssl://www.sandbox.paypal.com', 443, $errno, $errstr, 30); $response_headers = get_headers($fp); $response_code = (int)substr($headers[0], 9, 3); ... but it's not working (returns $response_code = 0). So right now, I'm debugging my IPN code without checking for a Response 200. Can anyone more experienced advise me on what's the proper/simple way to check this? Thanks

  • How do I log the raw HTTP headers with a PHP script?

    I'm using a cURL script to send POST data through a proxy to a script and I want to see what raw HTTP headers the cURL script is sending. List of things I've tried: echo curl_getinfo($ch, CURLINFO_HEADER_OUT) gives no output. file_get_contents('php://input') gets some HTTP headers but not all. print_r($_SERVER) also gets some HTTP headers but not all (I know this because there should be a X-Forwarded-For header and there isn't) Printing all superglobals ($_POST, $_GET, $_REQUEST, $_FILES etc) still doesn't show the raw HTTP headers. http_get_request_headers(), apache_request_headers(), $http_response_header, $HTTP_RAW_POST_DATA aren't outputting everything. Help?
