    For the warehouse work under progress, we have a single solution with multiple projects in it OLTP Database Project Warehouse Database Project SSIS ETL project After the SSIS project is built, I want to move the binaries (XML, really) from the Bin folder to "C:\AutomatedTasks\ETL.Warehouse\" and "C:\AutomatedTasks\ETL" I cannot find the Post-Build events to do that for the SSIS project. Where are they? If they aren't available, how do I achieve this?

    I m sry if the title is not clear. Here's my proble. I created a new table which will show total, average and maximum values. I have to insert the results into that table. That table will have only 4 rows. No Appointment, Appointment Early, Appointment Late and Appointment Punctual. So.. I have sth like.. insert into newTable select 'No Appointment' as 'Col1', avg statement, total statement, max statement from orgTable where (general conditions) and (unique condition to check NO APPOINTMENT); I have to do that same thing for another 3 rows.. where only the unique condition is different to check early, punctual or late.. So..the statement is super long. I wanna reduce the size.. How can I achieve that?

    I'm attempting to do the most simple of mappings with FluentNHibernate & Sql2005. Basically, I have a database table called "sv_Categories". I'd like to add a category, setting the ID automatically, and adding the userid and title supplied. Database table layout: CategoryID -- int -- not-null, primary key, auto-incrementing UserID -- uniqueidentifier -- not null Title -- varchar(50) -- not null Simple.     Let's say I have a table that has a varchar field. If I do an insert like this: INSERT MyTable SELECT N'the string goes here' Is there any fundamental difference between that and: INSERT MyTable SELECT 'the string goes here' My understanding was that you'd only have a problem if the string contained a Unicode character and the target column wasn't unicode. Other than that, SQL deals with it just fine and converts the string with the N'' into a varchar field (basically ignores the N). I was under the impression that N in front of strings was a good practice, but I'm unable to find any discussion of it that I'd consider definitive. Title may need improvement, feel free.

Msg 4922, Level 16, State 9, Line 2 ALTER TABLE DROP COLUMN CountryID failed because one or more objects access this column. I have tried this, yet it does not seem to work: alter table company drop foreign key Company_CountryID_FK; alter table company drop column CountryID; What do I need to do to drop the CountryID column? I have no problem doing this with one row which involves the use of IDENT_CURRENT but I have no idea how to do this set based (i.e. enter several rows into both tables). Thanks.   • Accessing FILESTREAM from an SQL CLR assembly

    I'm trying to stream FILESTREAM data from an unsafe SQL CLR assembly. The connection string is Data Source=LAPTOP2\SQLEXPRESS;Initial Catalog=test;Integrated Security=True;Enlist=False When creating a new SqlFileStream (inside a SqlTransaction, of course), I'm getting: The request is not supported at OpenSqlFilestream. So I decided to try native OpenSqlFilestream, but then I'm getting an invalid handle (-1) while GetLastWin32Error returns that same: The request is not supported (ERROR_NOT_SUPPORTED). I have also tried SqlContext.WindowsIdentity.Impersonate() with no apparent effect. I couldn't find any documentation referencing this restriction. Is it really unsupported? If it is unsupported, is there a good reason? Does anyone know of a workaround?

    I have a scalar UDF that I know to be deterministic, however SQL doesn't. Is there a way to declare it as deterministic so that I can then use it in a persisted computed column definition? further clarification: The purpose of this exercise is that I need to harvest out specific values from an XML column on the row. I can't use the value method of the xml column in my computed column definition, but I can use it in a UDF. I know the xpath query in the value method will produce the same output give the same input so while I certainly understand that not all calls to value will be deterministic I want to assert that mine is.
