  • Reading a Text file in xcode

    First off, I'm a complete beginner. This might be a stupid question, but here it goes: I'm currently working on an App than contains Latin texts that the users can view and read. I'm using Xcode 4 with the storybord function. Theway the app is built: user selects author - then the book - then app shows the text. I am kind of confused because i need to have various text files, depending on the users choice.

  • How to check if service is enabled with launchd

    I can't figure out how to check from within C/C++ if a service is enabled via launchd. I know I can use launchctl from the command line and am currently executing ' launchctl list myServiceName ' from fork/exec. I've found that boostrap_look_up() might be the way to check this but I can't find enough documentation to condense this down to a simple example. Can you shed light on this? All I need is a small function to test if my service is actually registered and available.

  • jQuery: if value is true without user action

    I want to show a div if the value of an input =='CP'. Right now this is my code: $(".register-type").change(function(){ var value = $(this).val(); if(value == 'CP'){ $('.cp-show').show(); This works fine if they change the input, but if things get validated false and the page reloads, this input is still 'CP', but the div doesn't show... Is there a way to correct this so that jquery checks if this is set on the page load?

I would like the literal HTML content, so only HTML and no Rails I thought inner_html would work, but I get a RJS exception (TypeError: $("content").innerHtml is not a function) Does anyone know how I can get the content?   • Funny plots in MATLAB

    I recently learned the ezplot function in MATLAB. Recently I typed in ezplot('x^y - y^x', [-100 100 -100 100]); and this is what I got; Can anyone please tell me whatever is happening ? for lower scaling of x and y ( [ -10 10 -10 10]) there are more patterns in the 2nd 3rd and 4th quadrants. I was not very sure of the shape of curve, but I did not expect this !

  • Paperclip not running tasks but not showing errors

    This is strange. I just did a deploy to a cluster server, and since then, pictures have not been processing. Reading the logs, I usually do not get an error at all, but they never finish. However, on one particular image, I found this little bit at least, but this might not explain everything.. Any ideas? SELECT CURRENT_TIMESTAMP-TRUNC(CURRENT_TIMESTAMP) FROM DUAL this return +00 13:12:07.100729 this work ok for me, to extract the time part from an timestamp field, but i' m wondering if exist a better way (may be using an built-in function of ORACLE) to do this?     In what cases would a call to java.sql.ResultSetMetaData.isSearchable(int col) return false for an Oracle database? The documentation for the method doesn't really answer the question: "Indicates whether the designated column can be used in a where clause." I can think of only one case - when the column is the result of an aggregate function (in which case it would have to be part of a HAVING filter, not a WHERE filter). Are there any other cases?

    I'm struggling to get a handle on Meteor deps, in order to be specific my use case is: 2) When collection is changed, I want to run a jQuery function on the client side I think deps are what I'm looking for, but at the moment I have only just used: Template.templateName.set () -> return Set.find({}) ...in terms of reactivity. A solution which simply console.log's the collection each time it is changed would be more that enough.

  • Javascript: move the "view point" of the browser

    I have a page with many out-of-bounds contents and since I set body{overflow:hidden}, they are not outside the viewport. So I want to attach a function to a button which would move the PoV of the browser so that the out-of-bounds contents would come into the viewport. What I can think of now is to set body{position:relative} and use jQuery to animate() the body instead. But in terms of performance, is there a better way to achieve that?
