    I am able to backup mysql database via command line by executing the below : C:\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.0\bin\mysqldump\" -uroot -ppassword sample \"D:/admindb/AAR12.sql\" But there is no DROP and CREATE database queries in my .mysql file What should i add in the syntax to get the create info to my generated .sql file ?

    I have a query regarding my report, the report format is as under **Date** **Received** **Closed** **Pending** 12/01/10 1000 900 100 12/02/10 2000 1000 1000 12/03/10 1500 1300 200 The above report shows the Help Desk tickets Received, Closed, Pending Count as date wise. How can I create a dynamic SQL query to show above result? Received Tickets is calculated on SubmitedDate Closed Tickets is calculated on ClosedDate with status "Closed" same for Pending Tickets whose status is "Pending". Please provide me the idea or some sample SQL queries.

    I have table "PICKITEM" PARTID QTY A 1 A 3 B 11 C 8 D 5 D 3 I need a select statement that will return one line for like PARTIDs and add the qty field to together, yet also return the rest of the lines in the table as is PARTID QTY A 4 B 11 C 8 D 8 Probably a newb question, but I am new to SQL syntax and queries. I have the following: NSPersistentStoreCoordinator NSManagedObjectContext NSManagedObjectModel Is it possible to run queries directly on the store (since its a sqlite DB)? I'm trying to delete all the records from a tableview, and figured a "DELETE FROM table" would be nice and quick as opposed to looping through the records and removing them manually (which i'm also struggling with).     Most often the cleanup rules (Preferences Java Code Style Clean Up) in Eclipse work perfectly and create nice-looking code. But sometimes, especially with comments and concatenated string snippets (like inline SQL queries), the cleanup just messes things up, and destroys my formatting. Is there a way to say to Eclipse "Don't touch this block of text! I have formatted it just the way I like, and you would make it just less readable"?

    I have various VB6 projects I'm maintaining with some of the queries being passed to the server having "ELSE:" with the colon used in case statements. I'm wondering can someone tell me what the **ll the colon is used for? It causes errors in SQL2005 and greater, but SQL2000 works with no complaints. I'd like to just remove it from the code & re-compile, but I'm afraid it'll break 10 other things in the application.. Thanks in advance...

If should get: (id - output) (1 - 2), (2-2), (3-1). Is there any queries for this? I've been trying, but I can't get it to work right.

    I'm trying to avoid using an in memory database for testing (though I might have to do this if the following is impossible). I'm using NHibernate 3.0 with LINQ. I'd like to be able to mock session.Query<T>() to return some dummy values but I can't since it's an extension method and these are pretty much impossible to test. Does anyone have any suggestions (other than using an in memory database) for testing session queries with LINQ?

As I'm using nested sets to get a nested forum hierarchy, I have to run a lot of queries such as: SELECT `id` FROM `forums` WHERE 1 BETWEEN `lft` AND `rgt` My problem: CodeIgniter is replacing the "1" by "`1`" because the "1" is recognized as a column name. Of course, the query does not work any more. Is there a way to get it working? thx in advance

    I have a handful of queries I need to write in SQL Server 2005. Each Query will be calculating 4 unit cost values based on a handful of (up to 11) fields. Any time I want 1 of these 4 unit cost values, I'll want all 4. Which is quicker? Computing in the SQL Query ((a+b+c+d+e+f+g+h+i)/(j+k)), calling ComputeScalarUnitCost(datapoint.ID) 4 times, or joining to ComputeUnitCostTable(datapoint.ID) one time?
