  • SQL Server: Granting db_datawriter on all databases

    I want to manage permissions and access to a SQL Server database server on a development machine. I've created a local windows group (called DBReaderGroup) and assigned various people to it. The group was created as a SQL Server login successfully: create login [MYMACHINE\DBReaderGroup] from windows My goal is to grant this group read/write access to all databases (which are constantly being added and dropped). Is it possible to configure the right settings so that SQL Server manages this? My biggest challenge is that each time a db is created, I have to update the "User Mapping" settings for this group on the new database. Am I missing something simple?

  • send dbmail on @@error from sql server 2005

    Hi, I am trying to send database mail when error occurs inside the transaction.My setup for dbo.sp_send_dbmail is correct , when I execute the proc I do get an email within 1 min. However when I try to use dbo.sp_send_dbmail inside another proc within transactions than I do not get the email. Sql server does show in the result window that "Mail queued" but I never receive it.     Hi In a MVC application i want to validate the email addresses. I want to get the valid emailID from the list.If I use the emailaddress from the address book of any mail account then the name of the user get appended with the emailID .eg:"Ayushi Soni" ,.. and then copy these address to a textbox in an MVC application. Now I want to retrieve the actual EmailID from the list ignoring the name that is appended.Is there any utitliy or jquery that we can use to filter this out and validate the filtered email.     I am using custom url schemes. I can send string messages as parameters to my custom url and emailing this to any person. When any person opens this email attachment in device in it open my app installed in device with the passed parameters in my custom url. Similarly how to email an image via custom url and when any person opens this attachment the image is passed to my app in device. I tried to encode the image in base64 format and tried to append to my url,but not working. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance

  • Parse and display MIME multipart email on website

    I have a raw email, (MIME multipart), and I want to display this on a website (e.g. in an iframe, with tabs for the HTML part and the plain text part, etc.). Are there any CPAN modules or Template::Toolkit plugins that I can use to help me achieve this? At the moment, it's looking like I'll have to parse the message with Email::MIME, then iterate over all the parts, and write a handler for all the different mime types. It's a long shot, but I'm wondering if anyone has done all this already? It's going to be a long and error prone process writing handlers if I attempt it myself. Thanks for any help.

    Hello, all the email addresses in my organization are in the format [email protected]. this was started when we were a small organization. Now we have grown and need to use something a bit more professional like [email protected] how can this change be implemented with minimal disruption? We currently only use smarteremail. Could recieving ONLY with the old and replying with the new be a solution..till we wean our recipients off the old email address? Any suggestions are welcome. How will moving to exchange help in this instance? Can it be configured to automatically send out using a different address? Thanks

    I have an old server with suse on it and its hosting numerous website under same IP , now i am trying to migrate the websites and all the contents of the old suse server to a new server with open suse 12.1 , i have transferred "/srv/www/vhosts" "/etc/apache2/vhosts.d" "/etc/apache2//httpd.conf" "/etc/apache2/listen.conf" "/etc/apache2/default-server.conf" i have transferred all the database files also . i am trying to replace the old server with the new server , i tried changing the ip address with the old server's ip address but its not working. what files do i need to transfer and what do i need to do to get the new server hosting the websites in place of the old server , please, any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hello. I have a dedicated server, and will be installing SQL Server. However, my hosting company said they can connect an external CD ROM drive and give me KVM over IP to install SQL Server. My question is, what is IPKVM, and how does it work? Do I need special hardware or software on my side to use it....or do I just connect via remote desktop? Also, why can't I remote into my server through remote desktop instead of using KVM over IP?

    I have Exchange 2010 and I need to run a process using web services against every new email to come in to a mailbox. The process will basically add the email to an internal task list. Can I use Powershell for this? Having never used Powershell before I don't really have a clue on it's capabilities. If not can anyone suggest another way of doing this other than monitoring the mailbox every X seconds. Really I'd like it event based so if no new mail then no processing. Cheers, Mike

    Hello all, I am using the SQL Server PHP Driver, I think this question can be answered without knowing what this is. I have come across this many times, what does it mean by NAMES? Column names?: SET NAMES utf8 Is there a query similar to the above that will get my dates to be returned as a string? For some reason on my SQL Sever 2008 on Vista, this works: $connectionInfo = array('Database' => $dbname, 'ReturnDatesAsStrings' => true) But the above 'ReturnDatesAsStrings' does not work on my SQL Server 2005 on a windows server machine? I can't execute any queries after setting the above! Does SQL Server 2005 support ReturnDatesAsStrings? Is there some other parameter I can pass to do the same? Thanks all for any help EDIT I should of mentioned this but if there is a solution I am hoping for one that is in the form of a setting that can be set before any queries can be executed as I do not have control on what queries will be executed.

    Hello Everybody, I have developed a website using PHP and MYSQL. The website has a commenting system through which registered users of the website can post comments on the feedback posted by different users. When a comment is posted for a feedback an email is sent to the user who posted that feedback notifying him of new comments on his feedback. Now what I want is that a feedback owner should be able to post a new comment in response to that comment by simply replying to the email that has been sent by the website.     So, I'm trying to send an smtp email from my website as a confirmation that their order has been place. The site is hosted on godaddy and I have no idea what's going on. I'm getting all kinds of error messages. The current one is: "System.Net.Mail.SmtpException: Mailbox name not allowed. The server response was: sorry, your mail was administratively denied. (#5.7.1)" My code is: string body = "Your order was placed"; MailMessage objEmail1 = new MailMessage("[email protected]", userEmail, "Confirmation Email", body); objEmail1.IsBodyHtml = true; SmtpClient client = new SmtpClient(); client.Host = "relay-hosting.secureserver.net"; client.UseDefaultCredentials = false; client.Send(objEmail1); I think the problem lies in the from address not belonging to godaddy or with the client.Host. Ideas?

  • Resilient Linux Mail Server Setup

    How would people design a resilient mail server setup with Linux? On an application level what the system needs to provide is both an incoming and outgoing mail service (i.e. SMTP & IMAP), along with filtering and archive storage (the archive part isn't critical yet, so we'll look at this later probably). What is required on top of this is a resilient system, i.e. one which will handle individual server failures without interrupting service. As such I would term this a High Availability mail system. This is in contrast to a High Performance mail setup, as in our case the volume of mail being handled isn't the important factor, it's simply that it stays online. Having not approached this problem before, the first thing I thought of was a clustered file system (gfs/gluster/etc), combined with heartbeat to failover a floating IP to another box in the case of a server failure. Combined with postfix & dovecot does this sound feasible to people?

  • Send Confirmation Email with Google Forms / Spreadsheets

    I know that Google Spreadsheets includes a mass mailout option with its MailApp.sendEmail function, but, as far as I know, it can only run once a form is opened, or by manually clicking "run". I have a Google form which includes an area for someone to put their email address. Is there a simple solution to send this data to its Google Spreadsheet and send it as a confirmation to the specified email address? It would be great if I could somehow incorporate MailApp.sendEmail into the form, instead of into the spreadsheet (which would be after the fact and manual, instead of instant and automatic). Also, note that I will be posting with jQuery. Any ideas?

  • Exchange 2007 - One server set-up

    I'm trying to set up Exchange 2007 with just one server (not the Transport + Hub configuration, just a Hub). I installed the server with the Hub Role, and it's not accepting SMTP. I changed SMTP so that it relays all emails (it's just an internal server for only internal mails). When I send to username@mydomain in OCW, it works fine. When I send to the same email address via SMTP, it goes to the badmail folder. What did I miss in the Hub set-up?

    I have a lot of apps that send email. Sometimes it's one or two messages at a time. Sometimes it's thousands of messages. In development, I usually test by substituting my own address for any recipient addresses. I'm sure that's what everybody else does, until they get fed up with it and find a better solution. I was thinking about creating a dummy SMTP server that just catches the messages and dumps them in a SQLLite database, or an mbox file, or whatever. But surely such a tool already exists? How do you test sending email?

I am working on an application and one of the function is to automatically send an email with an attachment. I can code the application to attach the object when it resides on local or on a mapped drive. Newbie Question: Is there a way to have the object reside on the Domino server, and still be able to point to it and have the application automatically attach and send? Is there any method that allows me to do this? Users have no direct access to the server/filesystem, so mapped drive of the Domino server is out of the question. Hope someone can shed some light on this question. Thanks!

  • SMTP Server Issue in intersystem cache

    I am facing an issue when I am sending Email from intersystems cache. I am able to send the mail, with out any problem the first time. But the second time when I am trying to send the smtp server is not responding properly. The first Helo command is sent. I recieve the confirmation 220 from the server. But I do not recieve the Message 250. So the next command is giving me the error 503, 5.5.2 "Send helo first" message. I am unable to find out why the server is not responding the second time.

    Since there are so many valid characters for email addresses, are there any valid email addresses that can in themselves be XSS attacks or SQL injections? I couldn't find any information on this on the web. The local-part of the e-mail address may use any of these ASCII characters: Uppercase and lowercase English letters (a–z, A–Z) Digits 0 to 9 Characters ! # $ % & ' * + - / = ? ^ _ ` { | } ~ Character . (dot, period, full stop) provided that it is not the last character, and provided also that it does not appear two or more times consecutively (e.g. [email protected]). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-mail_address#RFC_specification I'm not asking how to prevent these attacks (I'm already using parametrized queries and HTML purifier), this is more a proof-of-concept. The first thing that came to mind was 'OR [email protected], except that spaces are not allowed. Do all SQL injections require spaces?

  • How to automatically email customers registration keys?

    I've written a bit of software that I'd like to share with others (a Mac Dashboard widget, specifically), but I'd also like to be compensated a bit for the time I spent on it. I've devised my own simple registration key algorithm, which takes a customer's email address and creates a 12-character alphanumeric key. The software itself is finished, demo limitations, key validation & all. I just need to get the keys to customers. How do I simply alert a key generation script to automatically email a customer a key, upon notification that they paid my account? Can I use PayPal IPN & JavaScript? The simplest solution will do - this is a five dollar widget. :)
