• Best Application for storing code snippets

  Hi all, Just wondering if you can point me in the direction of a simple, fast program which stores code snippets. I have been using a local wiki up to now, but I find it a little annoying at times. Ideally I would like this application to be portable - i.e. it could run off of a USB stick on multiple machines with no installation. What do you guys use? EDIT: I would prefer a solution that was decoupled from the IDE and stored locally, not in the cloud. EDIT 2: Thanks for all the replies thus far, but I am still awaiting a non cloud / web based portable solution. Anyone else care to weigh in? :)

  Hi All, I am trying to automate installation of an application using Pywinauto.During the installation the last window shows some warning or error messages in few cases and later the system begins to restart.My objective is to capture the the Warning messages which is possible by app.top_window_()._ctrl_identifiers() np.Notepad.Edit.TypeKeys(a,with_spaces=True, with_tabs=True, with_newlines=True) This is returning a list which contains all the messages of the screen. • Should GSON ignore varying types if they're not used in a class?

  I'm making an API call that returns JSON which has a particular field which either returns false or a map depending on content. It's a field that I don't care about. I expected GSON to ignore this particular field, though it doesn't seem to be. The object generation fails with the following message: com.google.gson.JsonSyntaxException: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Expected a string but was BEGIN_OBJECT at line 1 column 403560 I've seen this particular question (Gson deserialize json with varying value types). I want to make sure I need to make a custom deserializer before doing so. I'm wondering if I may have another issue. edit: Example: "anonymous_flag": { } vs "anonymous_flag": "yes" Another Edit: I actually had the field in my model object... I was referencing the wrong class. Judge away :)

Maybe the line number isn't necesary to edit a line in a file. I `was reading after seraching with regexp and opening the filechannel of the file, but I can't get the line number.   Hi there, I want to read a file as fast as possible (40k lines) [Edit : the rest is obsolete]. Edit: Andres Jaan Tack suggested a solution based on one thread per file, and I want to be sure I got this (thus this is the fastest way) : One thread per entry file reads it whole and stocks its content in a container associated (- as many containers as there are entry files) One thread calculates the linear combination of every cell read by the input threads, and stocks the results in the exit container (associated to the output file). One thread writes by block (every 4kB of data, so about 10 lines) the content of the output container. • Callback for When jqGrid Finishes Reloading?

  Hi, I am using the jqGrid plug-in and at one point I need to refresh the grid and set the selected row to match the record that I am showing in detail on another section of the page. I have the following code but it does not work: $("#AllActions").trigger("reloadGrid").setSelection(selectedRow); The selectedRow parameter comes from an event handler that gets called when the data is changed and the grid needs to be updated. I'm pretty sure that the problem is that the grid is not loaded when the selection is being set, because if I put a call to alert() between the calls to trigger() and setSelection(), it works.   Using ASP.NET VB, I have a form with some text boxes and a Gridview. If a user clicks the Edit button on a row in the gridview, and then tries to submit the form with a row still in edit mode on the Gridview, this error is generated - "Invalid postback or callback argument. Event validation is enabled using in configuration or <%@ Page EnableEventValidation="true" % in a page. For security purposes, this feature verifies that arguments to postback or callback events originate from the server control that originally rendered them. If the data is valid and expected, use the ClientScriptManager.RegisterForEventValidation method in order to register the postback or callback data for validation. " Any idea how to prevent this error??

• JqueryUI serialize data not working on first record

  I am using jqueryUI v1.8. I have created a modal dialog form to edit records of a table. When the edit link on the record is clicked the record data is displayed on the form and the user edits the record. When the user submits this form the data is serialized and posted via ajax to update the database. This works well with all records except the first one. Nothing is posted to server for update only for the first record. alert(serializeddata); is empty. Similarly, The first form element in every record chosen for editing does not show the actual value the first time. Once you cancel editing and close the dialog and reopen you can see the fields accurate data. How do I resolve this?

• Show file extensions in document libraries in Sharepoint 2010

  I've got a Sharepoint site collection with several sub sites each having their own document library. Now I want to add the file extensions to the document names in all those libraries. How should I do this? I've seen tips telling you to modify the onet.xml-file, but they never look like mine do, and furthermore I don't know for sure what happens to that onet.xml-file - does it change the existing libraries? Other tips tell me to use Sharepoint designer, that would mean I'll have to do it for every view in every library, wouldn't it? So I'd prefer doing it from code, where I feel more comfortable and where I can automate the process. So, all I want is to replace the "Name (linked to document with edit menu)" with the "Name (for use in forms)" but still keep the link and the edit menu. I've found I need to use the FileLeafRef-field, but I don't know how! Thankful for any new clues, Sebastian

  Hello, I'm writing an application that runs "things" to a schedule. Idea being that the database contains assembly, method information and also the parameter values. The timer will come along, reflect the method to be run, add the parameters and then execute the method. Everything is fine except for the parameters. So, lets say the method accepts an ENUM of CustomerType where CustomerType has two values of CustomerType.Master and CustomerType.Associate. EDIT I don't the type of parameter that will be getting passed in. ENUM used as an example END OF EDIT We want to run Method "X" and pass in parameter "CustomerType.Master". In the database, there will be a varchar entry of "CustomerType.Master". How do I convert the string "CustomerType.Master" into a type of CustomerType with a value of "Master" generically?   Hi Everyone, I have number of select lists in my rails application like this: <li>Company<span><%= f.select :company_id, Company.all.collect {|m| [m.companyname, m.id]} %></span></li> They all work well, except - sometimes if you go to the edit view, the select list reverts to the top item, not the item that was chosen when creating. So if you go to an edit view and then click update without actually making any changes, the lists default to the top item - even though you didn't touch them. Is there a way around this? Using jQuery is not always an option (or even a want) which can make understanding the examples of javascript solutions written in jQuery hard. Is there an easy way to convert jQuery code to regular javascript? If after 5 mins dont show anything. $answer_post_date = get_the_time("Y-m-d"); $current_date = date("Y-m-d"); $formated_current_date = strtotime($answer_post_date); $formated_answer_post_date = strtotime($current_date); At this point i have two values: 1274414400 ($formated_current_date) 1276056000 ($formated_answer_post_date) I am not sure what to do next to check if the current date/time is ! 5 mins from answer post date. Any suggestions would be great All i really need the answer to be is a Boolean (yes/no) and if yes display the minuets left to show the link to edit.

  1 I've got popup (using javascript) working in a kind of gridview. When you click a button on one grid, it displays a popup window containing another grid of information, based on the row clicked in the first grid. This works well... I've enabled editing in the grid that is popped up. When you click edit though, the popup window disappears. If I click the display button in the first grid though to bring the popup window visible again it displays, and is now in edit mode. Is there a way to make postbacks in the popup not close the popup?

• ASP.net MVC Using view models in different views

  i have 2 customer views one for create and one for edit. i am using the same Customer view model for both. i want to make the 'customer no field' required on the add but not the edit. if i put the requiredfield attribute on the view model property then both views flag 'Customer No' as required (as you would expect). Is there a built in solution to get around this problem or am i going to have to create 2 seperate view models, one with the attribute and one without. Thanks

  Hi, *************EDIT********** i am using ODBC and found that can not read more than 4096 for a field Any suggestions *************EDIT************ i am reading an image from db $image=$row["image-contents"]; Now try to write the file to disk $image_name="test.jpg"; $file = fopen( "images/".$image_name, "w" ); fwrite( $file, $image); fclose( $file ); The problem is that the file created is only 4096 bytes and the image file is corrupt because $image is larger than 4096. I now that fwrite use blocks for write but i dont know how do it. Help plz!

As things stand, i get both whats in the designer and in formload in the comboboxes. How can i stop this? I also have an edit function, so when i edit a record, i want the combo box to be populated by what is already saved. Just a random question, can you stop the user entering a value that isn't in the combo box? Thankyou

It is in this step where the line in routes.rb: get "users/new" is replaced with resource :users After I do this, I get a routing error when visiting http://localhost:3000/users/1 - No route matches [GET] "/users/1" instead of the other "Unknown Action" error shown here.   Hi, as I need to get a specific Frame from a Website I want to display in an WebView, I decided to grab the .html from the net and save it under file:///data/data//files/file.html. Stroed there I can edit it using regex or String methods. Now two questions: Is there a way to bind this file to an resource. e.g. to /res/raw/file.html and get it updated dynamically as i edit it? Or can i write the File directly to the resources? Is this whole stuff I do there any good or performant at all? I mean maybe there is a better way to get the .html code between two tags from a Webpage and display it via WebView. Kind regards Markus

• Paging Recordsets from SQL Serverside

  I've been banging my head off this one for a while. I want to call 1k records from a SQL database and page them per 100. In classic ASP (where I'm moving from) this was dead easy to do with ADODB but with VB using ADO.net I can't find a single way that doesn't involve stored procs (which I want to avoid for now). It seems really stupid to call all 1k and sort it programmatically. Edit: It's SQL Server 2005 / .net 4.0 / Visual Studio 2010. Edit 2: Just to reiterate, I have Googled extensively and don't want to use stored procedures. There are many ways to get paged data but everything I see involves paging the data in the program rather than from the server.

• Visually Viewing and Editing a Two-Dimensional Array - VB/C#

  I've never personally used any of the Data controls within Visual Studio. I need to view and edit a two-dimensional byte array, 16x15 objects. Is there any control capable of editing this information? I've tried to access data with the DataViewGrid, but am not sure how to use it. It would be great to edit this information via rows and columns, like how you can in Excel. Thank you! Times like this I wish I could just use multiple text boxes and assign them each an index value. Oh VB6 how I miss you :P
