    Hello, I need to know the current keyboard type. I was setting an instance variable in - (BOOL)textFieldShouldBeginEditing:(UITextField *)textField However, testing has shown that this is not always reliable because of the asynchronous nature of notifications.   • Possible to alert server to iphone settings change?

    I'm working on giving our users context-specific PUSH notification settings, similar to what Facebook has in their settings menu. As far as I can tell though, there's no way to actually notify our server of these changes until the user actually launches the app. Is this correct? Is there any mechanism provided for immediately alerting our servers to a settings change?

    Hi, I'm trying to use this fairly standard line of code in my app: [[UIApplication sharedApplication] registerForRemoteNotificationTypes:(UIRemoteNotificationTypeAlert | UIRemoteNotificationTypeBadge | UIRemoteNotificationTypeSound)]; But am receiving the follow error: error: invalid conversion from 'int' to 'UIRemoteNotificationType' It works if I only use one of the notification types but fails every time if I try and use more than one. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

  • Android Mock Location locks GPS on status bar

    I created an app that uses mock locations to insert GPS coordinates. After removing the test provider via: mLocationManager.clearTestProviderLocation(mocLocationProvider); mLocationManager.removeTestProvider(mocLocationProvider); mLocationManager.removeUpdates(mLocationListener); When I launch google maps for example after exiting the app the GPS location is found and then never goes away. "Location Set By GPS" always remains on the notification bar even though my app is ended. Any ideas?

If a short message notification is clicked Logcat reveals the following: INFO/ActivityManager(31909): Starting activity: Intent { act=android.intent.action.VIEW dat=content://mms-sms/conversations/3 flg=0x34000000 cmp=com.android.mms/.ui.ConversationList bnds=[0,586][600,682] } This brought me a little bit further using content://mms-sms/conversations/3 as the data starts up the messages app in the correct conversation. I now only need to find out which conversation a message belongs to.

I personally own an Android based phone running 2.1, but I can't seem to get the HTML 5 tag to work. Even when I can trigger the browser to playback the video it just throws a notification error that it can't. Are there guidelines to producing Android/HTML 5 compatible videos? The .slideUp doesn't execute an upside down version of slideDown. Instead it hides stuff, like after your cleaning up an old message you've displayed with slideDown. The problem is that even if validation fails (i.e. the Model.validate method returns a value) the post/put request is still sent to the server. This contradicts what is explained in the Backbone.js documentation. I cannot understand what I am doing wrong.
