  • coordination transform issue in Silverlight

    - by George2
    Hello everyone, I am using Silverlight 3.0 + .Net 3.5 + VSTS 2008 + C# to develop silverlight application based on ASP.Net. I am very confused about what are the function of "TranslateTransform" and "RenderTransformOrigin" in the following code snippet? BTW: I roughly understand RenderTransformOrigin means move an UI element in x-axis and y-axis by some offset, is that correct? Move the whole UI element? <Grid Margin="-1,0,100,0" x:Name="controlsContainer" Height="35" RenderTransformOrigin="0.5,0.5" VerticalAlignment="Bottom"> <Grid.RenderTransform> <TransformGroup> <ScaleTransform/> <SkewTransform/> <RotateTransform/> <TranslateTransform Y="0"/> </TransformGroup> </Grid.RenderTransform> <Rectangle Margin="0,0,0,0" Height="35" VerticalAlignment="Top" Fill="#97000000" Stroke="#00000000" RenderTransformOrigin="0.5,0.5"/> <VideoPlayer:mediaControl Height="35" Margin="1,0,0,0" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Top" x:Name="mediaControls" Visibility="Visible"/> </Grid> thanks in advance, George

  • iOS - is it possible to cache CGContextDrawImage?

    - by woot586
    I used the timing profile tool to identify that 95% of the time is spent calling the function CGContextDrawImage. In my app there are a lot of duplicate images repeatably being chopped from a sprite map and drawn to the screen. I was wondering if it was possible to cache the output of CGContextDrawImage in an NSMutableDictionay, then if the same sprite is requested again it can be just pull it from the cache rather than doing all the work of clipping and rendering it again. This is what i’ve got but I have not been to successful: Definitions if(cache == NULL) cache = [[NSMutableDictionary alloc]init]; //Identifier based on the name of the sprite and location within the sprite. NSString* identifier = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@-%d",filename,frame]; Adding to cache CGRect clippedRect = CGRectMake(0, 0, clipRect.size.width, clipRect.size.height); CGContextClipToRect( context, clippedRect); //create a rect equivalent to the full size of the image //offset the rect by the X and Y we want to start the crop //from in order to cut off anything before them CGRect drawRect = CGRectMake(clipRect.origin.x * -1, clipRect.origin.y * -1, atlas.size.width, atlas.size.height); //draw the image to our clipped context using our offset rect CGContextDrawImage(context, drawRect, atlas.CGImage); [cache setValue:UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext() forKey:identifier]; UIGraphicsEndImageContext(); Rendering a cached sprite There is probably a better way to render CGImage which is my ultimate caching goal but at the moment I’m just looking to successfully render the cached image out however this has not been successful. UIImage* cachedImage = [cache objectForKey:identifier]; if(cachedImage){ NSLog(@"Cached %@",identifier); CGRect imageRect = CGRectMake(0, 0, cachedImage.size.width, cachedImage.size.height); if (NULL != UIGraphicsBeginImageContextWithOptions) UIGraphicsBeginImageContextWithOptions(imageRect.size, NO, 0); else UIGraphicsBeginImageContext(imageRect.size); //Use draw for now just to see if the image renders out ok CGContextDrawImage(context, imageRect, cachedImage.CGImage); UIGraphicsEndImageContext(); }

  • simple CATextLayer scaling problem

    - by dersubtile
    I'm having a simple scaling problem with CATextLayer, but i just couldn't figure it out: I want the CATextLayer to proportionally grow in size with it's superlayer: if the superlayer's width is 300 the text size of CATextLayer should be 12 and if the supeview's width is 600 the text size should be 24. I couldn't find a working solution! Can you please give me a clue? Thanks, Julian.

  • Multiple plugin instance loading with MEF

    - by Dave
    In my last application, using MEF to load plugins went just fine, but now I'm running into a new issue. I have a solution for it that I explain at the end of this question, but I'm looking for other ways to do it. Let's say I have an interface called ApplianceInterface. I also have two plugins that inherit from ApplianceInterface, let's call them Blender and Processor. Now, I would like to have multiple Blenders and Processors in my application, but I am not sure how to instantiate them properly. Before, I would simply use the ImportMany attribute and upon calling ComposeParts, my application would load Blender and Processor. For example: [ImportMany(typeof(ApplianceInterface))] private IEnumerable<ApplianceInterface> Appliances { get; set; } and my Blender and Processor plugins would be attributed like this: [PartCreationPolicy(CreationPolicy.NonShared)] [Export(typeof(MyInterface)] public class Blender : ApplianceInterface { ... } but what this ends up doing for me is populating Appliances with one Blender and one Processor. I need to be able to create an arbitrary number of Blender and Processor objects. Now, from the documentation I understand that [PartCreationPolicy(CreationPolicy.NonShared)] is what allows MEF to create a new instance each time, but is there a similar "magical" way to create a specific number of instances of something using MEF? Up until now, I've relied on [Import] and [ImportMany] to resolve the assemblies. Is my only option to use a global container, and then resolve the export manually using GetExportedValue<? I have tried GetExportedValue< and that implementation does work fine for me, but I was just curious if there is a better, more accepted way to do it.

  • GWT: Loading different UI's based on URL

    - by jmccartie
    Trying to get a GWT project off the ground and finding it difficult to do any basic routing. Trying to fire up different UI's based on the URL. Thought I could set a string based on the getHash() and then switch off that, but seems cumbersome (and annoying since I can't do string-based switches in Java). There's got to be a best practice for this. I know Gerrit uses hashes for determining this type of information but couldn't find where they do it in the source. Or is this totally not GWT-related? Something I can handle in web.xml? Any help is much appreciated.

  • chrome extension script is loading twice even more on some pages

    - by Youhan
    this is my background.js file chrome.tabs.onUpdated.addListener(function(tabId,info, tab) { var sites =new Array('site2','site1'); var url=tab.url; var siteFlag=0; for(var i in sites) { var regexp = new RegExp('.*' + sites[i] + '.*','i'); if (regexp.test(url)) {siteFlag=1;} }; if(siteFlag==1){ chrome.tabs.executeScript(tabId, {file:"contentscript.js"}); chrome.tabs.executeScript(tabId, {file:"jquery.js"}); chrome.tabs.insertCSS(tabId,{file:"box.css"}); } }); In the contentscript.js I simply run a popup box. $(document).ready(function () { function popup() {...} if (window.addEventListener) { window.addEventListener('load', popup(), false); } else if (window.attachEvent) { window.attachEvent('onload', popup()); } }); There are some pages that there are one popup-box and there are pages that two or even more what is the problem?

  • How to use CSS3 to animate parts of an image

    - by Sang Froid
    I'd like to create an image slider with some cool 3d effects, such as this one: http://tympanus.net/codrops/2011/09/05/slicebox-3d-image-slider/ The thing is, while I know how to use CSS3 3D transforms to rotate something, I don't know how to animate "parts" of an image. In the link above, the script seems to somehow "slice" the image into several pieces, and then animate those separately. However, the image was not sliced up beforehand - it is one whole image. Can anyone recommend any tutorials on how to achieve this effect, or perhaps just give the name of whatever technique was used to do this? Thank you in advance!

  • Loading jQuery with Tapestry 5

    - by American Yak
    Okay, so I'm not a Java guy, but I work with loads of them. We generally load Prototype with Tapestry 5, as Tapestry was built on this javascript library. As a UI/front end developer/engineer, I know the awesomeness of jQuery and the lack of prototype therein. (Feel free to debate that elsewhere -- this ticket doesn't concern that question, ha.) I've been curious for some time if it's possible to port jQuery into Tapestry instead of Prototype -- as in completely removing Prototype and Scriptaculous -- I realize it kind of defeats the purpose of the already bundled Prototype, but I wanted other opinions on the matter. Thanks.

  • entity framework navigation property further filter without loading into memory

    - by cellik
    Hi, I've two entities with 1 to N relation in between. Let's say Books and Pages. Book has a navigation property as Pages. Book has BookId as an identifier and Page has an auto generated id and a scalar property named PageNo. LazyLoading is set to true. I've generated this using VS2010 & .net 4.0 and created a database from that. In the partial class of Book, I need a GetPage function like below public Page GetPage(int PageNumber) { //checking whether it exist etc are not included for simplicity return Pages.Where(p=>p.PageNo==PageNumber).First(); } This works. However, since Pages property in the Book is an EntityCollection it has to load all Pages of a book in memory in order to get the one page (this slows down the app when this function is hit for the first time for a given book). i.e. Framework does not merge the queries and run them at once. It loads the Pages in memory and then uses LINQ to objects to do the second part To overcome this I've changed the code as follows public Page GetPage(int PageNumber) { MyContainer container = new MyContainer(); return container.Pages.Where(p=>p.PageNo==PageNumber && p.Book.BookId==BookId).First(); } This works considerably faster however it doesn't take into account the pages that have not been serialized to the db. So, both options has its cons. Is there any trick in the framework to overcome this situation. This must be a common scenario where you don't want all of the objects of a Navigation property loaded in memory when you don't need them.

  • Loading GWT Messages from a Database

    - by Lars Tackmann
    In GWT one typically loads i18n strings using a interface like this: public interface StatusMessage extends Messages { String error(String username); : } which then loads the actual strings from a StatusMessage.property file: error=User: {0} does not have access to resource This is a great solution, however my client is unbendable in his demand for putting the i18n strings in a database so they can be changed at runtime (though its not a requirement that they be changed realtime). One solution is to create a async service which takes a message ID and user locale and returns a string. I have implemented this and find it terribly ugly (and it introduces a huge amount of extra communication with the server, plus it makes property placeholder replacement rather complicated). So my question is this, can I in some nice way implement a custom message provider that loads the messages from the backend in one big swoop (for the current user session). If it can also hook into the default GWT message mechanism, then I would be completely happy (i.e. so I can create a interface like above and keep using the the nice {0}, {1}... property replacement format). Other suggestions for clean database driven messages in GWT are also welcome.

  • Blur CALayer's Superlayer

    - by eaigner
    Hi. I've got a CALayer and a sublayer in it. What i want to achieve is a blur of the superlayer (the area under the sublayer), just like the standard sheets do it. I've tried to set a .compositingFilter on the sublayer but this doesn't seem to work. Any ideas how to solve this?

  • Rails 3 fields_for agressive loading?

    - by Seth
    Hi all, I'm trying to optimize (limit) queries in a view. I am using the fields_for function. I need to reference various properties of the object, such as username for display purposes. However, this is a rel table, so I need to join with my users table. The result is N sub-queries, 1 for each field in fields_for. It's difficult to explain, but I think you'll understand what I'm asking if I paste my code: <%= form_for @election do |f| %> <%= f.fields_for :voters do |voter| %> <%= voter.hidden_field :id %> <%= voter.object.user.preferred_name %> <% end %> <% end %> I have like 10,000 users, and many times each election will include all 10,000 users. That's 10,000 subqueries every time this view is loaded. I want fields_for to JOIN on users. Is this possible? I'd like to do something like: ... <%= f.fields_for :voters, :joins => :users do |voter| %> ... <% end %> ... But that, of course, doesn't work :(

  • Loading specific files from arbitrary directories?

    - by Haydn V. Harach
    I want to load foo.txt. foo.txt might exist in the data/bar/ directory, or it might exist in the data/New Folder/ directory. There might be a different foo.txt in both of these directories, in which case I would want to either load one and ignore the other according to some order that I've sorted the directories by (perhaps manually, perhaps by date of creation), or else load them both and combine the results somehow. The latter (combining the results of both/all foo.txt files) is circumstantial and beyond the scope of this question, but something I want to be able to do in the future. I'm using SDL and boost::filesystem. I want to keep my list of dependencies as small as possible, and as cross-platform as possible. I'm guessing that my best bet would be to get a list of every directory (within the data/ folder), sort/filter this list, then when I go to load foo.txt, I search for it in each potential directory? This sounds like it would be very inefficient, if I have dozens of potential directories to search through every time. What's the best way to go about accomplishing this? Bonus: What if I want some of the directories to be archives? ie. considering both data/foo/ and data/bar.zip to both be valid, and pull foobar.txt from either one without caring.

  • Problems with UITableView when loading the view into the main window

    - by GuidoMB
    I've created a sub class of UITableViewController named LoginViewController with the XIB file using XCode. Then I opened the XIB file with IB and set the table's style to grouped. Finally I wrote the following code: - (void)applicationDidFinishLaunching:(UIApplication *)application { LoginViewController *loginViewController = [[LoginViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"LoginViewController" bundle:[NSBundle mainBundle]]; [window addSubview: loginViewController.view]; window.backgroundColor = [UIColor blueColor]; [window makeKeyAndVisible]; [window layoutSubviews]; } I set the window's background color to blue for you to see what the problem is. I put a link to the screenshot If I don't use the table style grouped the problem does not occur

  • Can't access variables from dynamically loaded javascript

    - by Menno
    I'm using a fairly simple system to load javascript dynamically: include = function (url) { var e = document.createElement("script"); e.src = url; e.type="text/javascript"; document.getElementsByTagName("head")[0].appendChild(e); }; Let's say I have a file test.js which has the following contents: var foo = 4; Now, in my original script, I want to use include(test.js); console.log(foo); However, I get a 'foo has not been defined' error on this. I'm guessing it has to do with the dynamic script being included as the last child of the <head> tag. How can I get this to work?

  • An error occurred loading a configuration file: Failed to start monitoring changes because the netwo

    - by Josh Stodola
    This error just started happening this morning in one particular project. When I try to publish the site it gives me this error and I can't complete the publish! Sometimes restarting Visual Studio magically fixes the problem, but it will just appear again later. Not only that, when I restart VS I lose all my "undo capabilities". There is a KB article on the subject, but it did not help. What can I do to stop this very annoying problem once and for all?

  • jQuery delay doesn't work as expected

    - by Chris
    I have the following jQuery code $("#dropdown").hover(function() { $(this).stop(true,true).fadeTo('fast',1); $("#options").stop(true,true).slideDown(); }, function() { $(this).delay(1000).stop(true,true).fadeTo('fast',0.1); $("#options").delay(1000).stop(true,true).slideUp(); } ); What I expect to happen is when the mouse leaves #dropdown it will wait 1 second before continuing. This is not happening. What I am trying to achieve, in case there is a better way, is to leave the drop down menu visible for a second or two after moving your mouse and I would also like to prevent the events from happening again to prevent artifacts and "funnies" if you were to move the mouse over and out from the div very quickly

  • Multiple flash video players on w3c-valid page is slow

    - by vect
    I have a web site that displays a column of flash videos. The page is w3c-valid. The problem is that the page loads very slowly and sometimes crashes my web browser. Until the page is fully loaded, the videos are slow to respond and play. Is there a way to make these videos load their preview images only? What should I do to speed the page up? The videos are 360x264.

  • 3d cube using canvas. Need a little improvement

    - by TimeManx
    I made this 3d cube using the following code Matrix mMatrix = canvas.getMatrix(); canvas.save(); camera.save(); camera.rotateY(-angle); camera.getMatrix(mMatrix); mMatrix.preTranslate(-width, 0); mMatrix.postTranslate(width, 0); canvas.concat(mMatrix); canvas.drawBitmap(bmp1, 0, 0, null); camera.restore(); canvas.restore(); camera.rotateY(90 - angle); camera.getMatrix(mMatrix); mMatrix.preTranslate(-width, 0); mMatrix.postTranslate(width2, 0); canvas.concat(mMatrix); canvas.drawBitmap(bmp2, width, 0, null); This is what it gives But what I need is It's because when Camera rotates the images, some part of the image gets hidden. Like this But I think this can be done.
