• Does PL/SQL have an equivalent StringTokenizer to Java's?

  I use java.util.StringTokenizer for simple parsing of delimited strings in java. I have a need for the same type of mechanism in pl/sql. I could write it, but if it already exists, I would prefer to use that. Anyone know of a pl/sql implementation? Some useful alternative?

  Hello, Can anyone explain me how can I detect a selection in a table view Header view like in tableView:didSelectRowAtIndexPath: ? It would be very useful for me.   I am looking at the Developer Express Quantum Grid example 'IssueList' which is a useful bug reporting and tracking application that's almost ready to go out of the box. It uses a TDatabase component with several paradox (.db) tables. Is it simple to rejig the TDatabase settings to use a database on a shared machine so that several of us can access it together across the network? If so, what would be the steps needed please?

If you have to create a screencast or promotional video of your Android application, the default skin of the emulator is no good. Is there any way to configure the emulator to look like an Android device? If you have dealt with this already, what other things do you recommend taking into account to record an emulator screencast? • Redis - Records Fall Off

  With memcache, when you exceed the available ram, it automatically drops the oldest records off the end of the stack.. Is there a way to do this with redis? I'm trying to find ways to avoid running in to a write error (when there's no more available ram), other than setting a timeout. The only reason the timeout isn't useful, it because it doesn't guaranty the ability to write.

• Why is the software world full of status codes?

  Why did programmers ever start using status codes? I mean, I guess I could imagine this might be useful back in the days when a text string was an expensive resource. WAYYY back then. But even after we had megabytes of memory to work with, we continued to use them. What possible advantage could there be for obfuscating the meaning of an error message or status message behind a status code?
