  • See return value in C#

    - by Snake
    Hi, Consider the following piece of code: As you can see we are on line 28. Is there any way to see the return value of the function at this point, without letting the code return to the caller function? Foo.Bar() is a function call which generates a unique path (for example). So it's NOT constant. In VB.NET it's possible by entering the function's name in the Watch, which will then threat it as a variable. But in C# this is not possible, any other tips? PS: rewriting is not an option.

  • TinyMCE is modifying the XHTML 1.0 Strict HTML I input. How can I stop it?

    - by Matt
    The code I want to have saved through TinyMCE is as follows: <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="550" height="90" id="homepage-banner"> <param name="movie" value="/images/header.swf" /> <param name="wmode" value="transparent" /> <!--[if !IE]>--> <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="/images/header.swf" width="550" height="90"> <param name="wmode" value="transparent" /> <!--<![endif]--> <img src="/images/header.jpg" width="550" height="90" alt="" border="0" /> <!--[if !IE]>--> </object> <!--<![endif]--> </object> Sadly, what I end up with is: <object data="/images/header.swf" height="90" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="550"> <param name="id" value="homepage-banner" /> <param name="wmode" value="transparent" /> <param name="src" value="/images/header.swf" /> </object> The purpose of the stripped parts of the code is to provide a fallback image if flash is not available on the client. In my tinyMCE.init({ ... }); I am using verify_html: true and valid_elements is set as per this forum topic whereby all valid XHTML 1.0 Strict elements are allowed. I have checked and the above code does comply with the XHTML 1.0 Strict standard. I have tried just setting verify_html to false but it had no effect. How can TinyMCE be configured to leave my HTML alone?!

  • Builder pattern and singletons

    - by Berryl
    Does anyone have any links to some code they like that shows a good example of this in c#? As an example of bad code, here is what a builder I have now looks like. I'm trying to have a way to keep the flexibility of the builder pattern but not rebuild the properties. Cheers, Berryl public abstract class ActivityBuilder { public abstract ActivityBuilder Build(); public bool IsBuilt { get; protected set; } public IEnumerable<Project> Projects { get { if(_projects==null) { Build(); } return _projects; } } protected IEnumerable<Project> _projects; // .. other properties }

  • Silverlight Cannot find XML data source

    - by Nick
    Hello.. I am very new to Silverlight development. I understand that this is client side technology therefore the paradyme is differant from that of conventional ASP.NET development. Having said that, I don't understand where my server side code is deployed. I have a silver light \ MVC application. I am trying to read an XML document from within my 'Models' folder. The following peice of code is executed from within a class that is in the same location as the XML document, 'Models'. The load() results in a SystemIOFileNotFound exception. I noticed that when building the application the XML document is not laid down in the same location as the web project's assembly. I assume this is specific to the fact that this is a Silverlight project. Can someone tell me what I'm missing? _xdoc = new XDocument(); _xdoc = XDocument.Load(new Uri("videos.xml",UriKind.Relative).ToString());

  • The Benefits of Constants

    - by onaclov2000
    I understand one of the big deals about constants is that you don't have to go through and update code where that constant is used all over the place. Thats great, but let's say you don't explicitly declare it as a constant. What benefit(s) exist(s) to take a variable that HAPPENS to actually not be changed and make it a constant, will this save on processing, and/or size of code...etc? Basically I have a program that the compiler is saying that a particular variable is not changed and thus can be declared a constant, I just wanted to know what the benefit to adding the constant qualifier to it would be, if it makes no difference then making that change adds no value and thus no point wasting time (this same scenario occurs in more then one place) going back and "fixing" all these variables. Thank you, onaclov

  • How to catch prompts with PySVN?

    - by Geoff
    I'm new to Python and PySVN in general, and I'm trying to export my SVN repository using pysvn. Here's my code: #set up svn login data def svn_credentials (realm, username, may_save): return True, svn_login_name, svn_login_password, False #establish connection svn_client = pysvn.Client () svn_client.callback_get_login = svn_credentials #export data svn_client.export('server-path-goes-here', 'client-path-goes-here', force=True Which works fine, but if the password is wrong or the user name is unknown, this code just sits. I believe it's being presented with a user login prompt on the SVN side, but I'm at a loss as to how to check whats happening with callback_get_login. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Java Loop every minute.

    - by Robert
    I want to write a loop in Java that firs starts up and goes like this: while (!x){ //wait one minute or two //execute code } I want to do this so that it does not use up system resources. What is actually going on in the code is that it goes to a website and checks to see if something is done, if it is not done, it should wait another minute until it checks again, and when its done it just moves on. Is their anyway to do this in java? I googled it but didnt find anything. Thanks

  • Strong name a 3rd party Interop DLL

    - by mauro.dec
    Hello! I have a 3rd party library I need to use. this library however, is not signed, so I used Signer to strong name it. One of its dependencies is an Interop library (also provided by the 3rd party) which I cannot sign since it seems to have unmanaged code. At runtime, when the 3rd party code needs to load the Interop library it fails to do so for not being signed. In short, Is there a way for me to sign a 3rd party Interop DLL? I've done a lot of searching but still couldn't find a solution.

  • detachEvent not working with named anonymous functions

    - by Polshgiant
    I ran into a problem in IE8 today (Note that I only need to support IE) that I can't seem to explain: detachEvent wouldn't work when using a named anonymous function handler. document.getElementById('iframeid').attachEvent("onreadystatechange", function onIframeReadyStateChange() { if (event.srcElement.readyState != "complete") { return; } event.srcElement.detachEvent("onreadystatechange", onIframeReadyStateChange); // code here was running every time my iframe's readyState // changed to "complete" instead of only the first time }); I eventually figured out that changing onIframeReadyStateChange to use arguments.callee (which I normally avoid) instead solved the issue: document.getElementById('iframeid').attachEvent("onreadystatechange", function () { if (event.srcElement.readyState != "complete") { return; } event.srcElement.detachEvent("onreadystatechange", arguments.callee); // code here now runs only once no matter how many times the // iframe's readyState changes to "complete" }); What gives?! Shouldn't the first snippet work fine?

  • annotation in matlab plot

    - by Tim
    Hi, I just wonder how to add annotation in matlab plot? Here is my code: plot(x,y); annotation('textarrow',[x, x+0.05],[y,y+0.05],'String','my point','FontSize',14); But the arrow points to the wrong place. How can I fix it? And any better idea for annotating a plot? Thanks and regards! EDIT: I just saw from the help document: annotation('line',x,y) creates a line annotation object that extends from the point defined by x(1),y(1) to the point defined by x(2),y(2), specified in normalized figure units. In my code, I would like the arrow pointing to the point (x,y) that is drawn by plot(), but annotation interprets the values of x and y as in normalized figure units. So I think that is what causes the problem. How can I specify the correct coordinates to annotation?

  • Storing Shell Output

    - by Emil Radoncik
    Hello everybody, I am trying to read the output of a shell command into a string buffer, the reading and adding the values is ok except for the fact that the added values are every second line in the shell output. for example, I have 10 rows od shell output and this code only stores the 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, row . Can anyone point out why i am not able to catch every row with this code ??? any suggestion or idea is welcomed :) import java.io.*; public class Linux { public static void main(String args[]) { try { StringBuffer s = new StringBuffer(); Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("cat /proc/cpuinfo"); BufferedReader input = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(p.getInputStream())); while (input.readLine() != null) { //System.out.println(line); s.append(input.readLine() + "\n"); } System.out.println(s.toString()); } catch (Exception err) { err.printStackTrace(); } } }

  • Read vector into CUDA shared memory

    - by Ben
    I am new to CUDA and programming GPUs. I need each thread in my block to use a vector of length ndim. So I thought I might do something like this: extern __shared__ float* smem[]; ... if (threadIddx.x == 0) { for (int d=0; d<ndim; ++d) { smem[d] = vector[d]; } } __syncthreads(); ... This works fine. However, I seems wasteful that a single thread should do all loading, so I changed the code to if (threadIdx.x < ndim) { smem[threadIdx.x] = vector[threadIdx.x]; } __syncthreads(); which does not work. Why? It gives different results than the above code even when ndim << blockDim.x.

  • Internet connection in android emulator always displays connected state

    - by ganesh
    hi I tried in many ways to check Internet connection in my android emulator ConnectivityManager conMgr = (ConnectivityManager)getSystemService(Context.CONNECTIVITY_SERVICE); NetworkInfo info= conMgr.getActiveNetworkInfo(); if(info != null || info.isConnected()) { Log.v("NetworkInfo","Connected State"); } else{ Log.v("NetworkInfo","Not Connected state"); Log.v("Reason",info.getReason()); } even if i disable Internet connection in my system ,my code seems to display Connected state so i guessed this may work if ( conMgr.getNetworkInfo(1).getState() == NetworkInfo.State.CONNECTED || conMgr.getNetworkInfo(0).getState() == NetworkInfo.State.CONNECTED ) { Log.v("Congr","Connection Present"); } else if ( conMgr.getNetworkInfo(1).getState() == NetworkInfo.State.DISCONNECTED || conMgr.getNetworkInfo(0).getState() == NetworkInfo.State.DISCONNECTED) { Log.v("conMgr"," No Connection"); } but the above code also displays "Connection Present" even when i disconnect Internet cables. .Please help to find a correct way to do this .I have ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE and INTERNET permission in my manifest file

  • Using target-specific variable in makefile

    - by James Johnston
    I have the following makefile: OUTPUTDIR = build all: v12target v13target v12target: INTDIR = v12 v12target: DoV12.avrcommontargets v13target: INTDIR = v13 v13target: DoV13.avrcommontargets %.avrcommontargets: $(OUTPUTDIR)/%.elf @true $(OUTPUTDIR)/%.elf: $(OUTPUTDIR)/$(INTDIR)/main.o @echo TODO build ELF file from object file: destination $@, source $^ @echo Compiled elf file for $(INTDIR) > $@ $(OUTPUTDIR)/$(INTDIR)/%.o: %.c @echo TODO call GCC to compile C file: destination $@, source $< @echo Compiled object file for $<, revision $(INTDIR) > $@ $(shell rm -rf $(OUTPUTDIR)) $(shell mkdir -p $(OUTPUTDIR)/v12 2> /dev/null) $(shell mkdir -p $(OUTPUTDIR)/v13 2> /dev/null) .SECONDARY: The idea is that there are several different code configurations that need to be compiled from the same source code. The "all" target depends on v12target and v13 target, which set a number of variables for that particular build. It also depends on an "avrcommontargets" pattern, which defines how to actually do the compiling. avrcommontargets then depends on the ELF file, which in turn depends on object files, which are built from the C source code. Each compiled C file results in an object file (*.o). Since each configuration (v12, v13, etc.) results in a different output, the C file needs to be built several times with the output placed in different subdirectories. For example, "build/v12/main.o", "build/v13/main.o", etc. Sample output: TODO call GCC to compile C file: destination build//main.o, source main.c TODO build ELF file from object file: destination build/DoV12.elf, source build//main.o TODO build ELF file from object file: destination build/DoV13.elf, source build//main.o The problem is that the object file isn't going into the correct subdirectory. For example, "build//main.o" instead of "build/v12/main.o". That then prevents the main.o from being correctly rebuilt to generate the v13 version of main.o. I'm guessing the issue is that $(INTDIR) is a target specific variable, and perhaps this can't be used in the pattern targets I defined for %.elf and %.o. The correct output would be: TODO call GCC to compile C file: destination build/v12/main.o, source main.c TODO build ELF file from object file: destination build/DoV12.elf, source build/v12/main.o TODO call GCC to compile C file: destination build/v13/main.o, source main.c TODO build ELF file from object file: destination build/DoV13.elf, source build/v13/main.o What do I need to do to adjust this makefile so that it generates the correct output?

  • wm_mousewheel message in WTL

    - by Rushi
    I am trying to handle wm_mousewheel for my application. Code: BEGIN_MSG_MAP(DxWindow) MESSAGE_HANDLER(WM_MOUSEWHEEL, KeyHandler) END_MSG_MAP() . . . LRESULT DxWindow::KeyHandler( UINT uMsg, WPARAM wParam, LPARAM lParam, BOOL &bHandled ) { if(uMsg==wm_mousewheel) { //Perform task. } return 0; } But this code doesn't work.KeyHandler doesn't receive wm_mousewheel message. I am testing this application on vista. If my approach is wrong how to handle wm_mousewheel properly? Do vista is responsible for failure in handling wm_mousewheel message?

  • MGTwitterEngine - Using getImageAtURL on iPhone

    - by Andrew Malchow
    Essentially, I'm working on asynchronously downloading images and adding them to specific UITableView cells (twitter profile images using MGTwitterEngine from Matt Gemmell). I've looked at general asynchronous download code and must admit, I'm still too much of a noob to understand it well enough to adapt it to my purposes. Instead, I'm attempting to use Gemmell's included getImageAtUrl method to add the images. I have it working to the point that -imageReceived: receives the images for visible cells, however, I'm stuck as to how to include them into the appropriate cells at that point. - (void)imageReceived:(UIImage *)image forRequest:(NSString *)identifier { NSLog(@"Got an image:%@",image); // What goes here? Or elsewhere? } This method is within my main view controller, I also have a custom cell controller where I'm drawing the cell content using Loren Brichter's fast scrolling code. Any help with this MGTwitterEngine method in particular, or with dynamically adding these images to my table cells would be greatly appreciated.

  • Get control instance in asp.net dynamic data

    - by Ashwani K
    Hello All: I am creating a web application using Asp.net dynamic data. I am using GridView to show data from the database. In the grid view I am having following code for columns <Columns> <asp:DynamicField DataField="UserId" UIHint="Label" /> <asp:DynamicField DataField="Address" UIHint="Address"/> <asp:DynamicField DataField="CreatedDate" UIHint="Label" /> </Columns> But, before displaying I want to do some processing in C# code for each row. In normal ASP.net grid view we can handle OnRowDataBound method, and using FindControl("controlid") we can get the control instance, but in case of dynamic data, I am not getting any id attribute for columns, so I am not able to get the control instance to show updated data in that control depending on some conditions. Thanks, Ashwani

  • Teradata equivalent of persisted computed column (in SQL Server)

    - by Cade Roux
    We have a few tables with persisted computed columns in SQL Server. Is there an equivalent of this in Teradata? And, if so, what is the syntax and are there any limitations? The particular computed columns I am looking at conform some account numbers by removing leading zeros - an index is also created on this conformed account number: ACCT_NUM_std AS ISNULL(CONVERT(varchar(39), SUBSTRING(LTRIM(RTRIM([ACCT_NUM])), PATINDEX('%[^0]%', LTRIM(RTRIM([ACCT_NUM])) + '.' ), LEN(LTRIM(RTRIM([ACCT_NUM]))) ) ), '' ) PERSISTED With the Teradata TRIM function, the trimming part would be a little simpler: ACCT_NUM_std AS COALESCE(CAST(TRIM(LEADING '0' FROM TRIM(BOTH FROM ACCT_NUM))) AS varchar(39)), '' ) I guess I could just make this a normal column and put the code to standardize the account numbers in all the processes which insert into the table. We did this to put the standardization code in one place.

  • Not all parameters get sent in jquery ajax call

    - by rksprst
    I have a strange error where my jquery ajax request doesn't submit all the parameters. $.ajax({ url: "/ajax/doAssignTask", type: 'GET', contentType: "application/json", data: { "just_a_task": just_a_task, "fb_post_date": fb_post_date, "task_fb_postId": task_fb_postId, "sedia_task_guid": sedia_task_guid, "itemGuid": itemGuid, "itemType": itemType, "taskName": taskName, "assignedToUserGuid": assignedToUserGuid, "taskDescription": taskDescription }, success: function(data, status) { //success code }, error: function(xhr, desc, err) { //error code } }); But using firebug (and debugging) I can see that only these variables are posted: assignedToUserGuid itemGuid itemType just_a_task taskDescription taskName It's missing fb_post_date, task_fb_postId, and sedia_task_guid I have no idea what would cause it to post only some items and not others? Anyone know? Data is sent to asp.net controller that returns jsonresult (hence the contentType) Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

  • Cocos2D, UIScrollView, and initial placement of a scene

    - by diatrevolo
    Hello: I am using a UIScrollView to forward touches to Cocos2D as outlined in http://getsetgames.com/2009/08/21/cocos2d-and-uiscrollview/ Everything works great after a few days of working with it, except one thing: when the initial view appears on the screen, the background appears to be scrolled to the center. As soon as I try to scroll around, the image jumps to 0,0, and everything works as normal, except the touches are offset by half the width and height of the background image. Am I overlooking something basic? I can't think of a useful portion of the code that illustrates the issue, as I can't track it down, but would be happy to post code if anyone has any ideas. Thanks in advance, -Roberto

  • JQuery text display problem?

    - by SLAPme
    Kind of new to JQuery and I was wondering how can I state that the users submitted info was saved when they click the submit button by displaying the message Changes saved at the top of the form and then have it disappear when the user leaves the web page and return back to it? Right now my code only displays that changes were saved at the bottom of the form outside of the lists and will not disappear when the users leave the web page and return back to it. Here is the JQuery code. $(function() { $(".save-button").click(function() { $.post($("#contact-form").attr("action"), $("#contact-form").serialize(), function(html) { $("div.contact-info-form").html(html); $('#contact-form').append('<li>Changes saved!</li>'); }); return false; // prevent normal submit }); }); Here is the html code. <div id="contact-info-form" class="form-content"> <h2>Contact Information</h2> <form method="post" action="index.php" id="contact-form"> <fieldset> <ul> <li><label for="address">Address 1: </label><input type="text" name="address" id="address" size="25" class="input-size" value="<?php if (isset($_POST['address'])) { echo $_POST['address']; } else if(!empty($address)) { echo $address; } ?>" /></li> <li><label for="address_two">Address 2: </label><input type="text" name="address_two" id="address_two" size="25" class="input-size" value="<?php if (isset($_POST['address_two'])) { echo $_POST['address_two']; } else if(!empty($address_two)) { echo $address_two; } ?>" /></li> <li><label for="city_town">City/Town: </label><input type="text" name="city_town" id="city_town" size="25" class="input-size" value="<?php if (isset($_POST['city_town'])) { echo $_POST['city_town']; } else if(!empty($city_town)) { echo $city_town; } ?>" /></li> <li><label for="state_province">State/Province: </label> <?php echo '<select name="state_province" id="state_province">' .
