    I'm trying to setup a hp officejet 5510 using HPLIP 3.10.2 under Ubuntu 9.10. The installation of the driver according to this guide was no problem but after installing and selecting the printer I was only able to print blank pages. The printer is working well under windows and scanning (its a multi-functional printer) is also possible under Ubuntu. Does anyone know this problem and a possible solution?

    so i have this jbod drive, with two different partition partition A is for windows while B i would like to have ubuntu 12.04 in it however at the end of ubuntu installation, there is an error stating grub failed to install and a fatal error. i was given option as to where to install the grub, and i tried them all and all giving me the same fatal error here is one example of options given /dev/mapper/nvidia_eeffaace1 to my knowledge grub is supposed to be installed in /dev/sda but in jbod configuration, both sda and sdb isnt available please help me and thank you

    I am trying to install PrestaShop 1.4.0.17, and reach Step 3. I enter database information, which tests okay, and I choose the second option: Full mode: includes 100+ additional modules and demo products (FREE too!). Due to this problem I had given my CPU to a shop to repair it I don't know what he has done to my CPU but I only know that finally I got my CPU with Ubuntu 13.04. The technician was unable to make any partition and I also think that he had installed 13.04 over 12.04 and so now my computer is showing some error when I'm starting my computer the error is as follows: error: attempt to read or write outside of the disk 'hd0'. grub rescue _ Before showing this error, few times my computer was working very slow. So kindly someone tell me that is there any way by which I can start my computer. Please also tell me that what things I have to keep in mind while using Ubuntu so that in future I find no difficulties(errors) while using Ubuntu.

  • can't update 12.04 getting package header error

    I originally posted this question, and was redirected to another thread where the question had already been asked. I then posted to that thread and had my post deleted by moderator fossfreedom, and told to post a "new" question... so wth ever.... I don't care if it's old or new I just need help here people! In a nutshell, I can't use sudo apt-get update or the GUI update tool to update my system. Anytime I try using either tool it gives me an error about packages missing headers. I can't send error reports, I have tried all the listed solutions from this post: I can't update my system properly, "no package header" error and from this post: "Problem with MergeList" error when trying to do an update and neither one work. I just want a working solution since I don't have the means of re-installing the OS entirely, and I REALLY don't want to have to go back to using Windows.

    I have been using VMWare on Windows for a long time. But after a long wait, I moved to VirtualBox on Ubuntu 11.10. I installed Ubuntu, 32 Bit, installed all available updates and installed Virtual Box. I know this error normally means you put float3 instead of a float4 or something like that, but I've checked over and over and as far as I can tell, everything matches.     I have Apache 2.2, and it's got modaspdotnet installed - the 2.2 version. I followed the advice at Configuring ASP.NET MVC2 on Apache 2.2 using mod_aspdotnet, and the server works basically very well. However, I'm trying to create custom extensions (e.g. file.customname, instead of file.aspx), similar to how Apache/PHP/htaccess can handle this. (I think it's mod_rewrite or .htaccess, forgotten which now!) What would I do to get these custom file types (all serving .NET files) working? The extensions are given custom names by me, simply for testing purposes This is a tourism site [a testing one, btw], and it's working OK on localhost for basic pages, but I wanted to know how to do this. How would I go about this? I've had a look on Google etc. but custom HTTP handlers was all I could really find! Thanks

    Sky doesn't seem to understand what their own errors mean, so I cobbled together an understanding from some other posts and managed to get it working.When you see the error [t6013-c1501] instead of your TV programme in Sky Go, it seems to mean:'You registered a device, but then changed the hardware, so now I'm confused!'In other words, the Digital rights management (DRM) used between Sky Go and Silverlight stored an old fingerprint of your PC, but rather than recognising this and allowing you to remove the device, it just disappears from the 'Manage Devices' page.DISCLAIMER: Perform the following steps at your own risk. It worked for me, but I didn't care if it broke stuff. If you care....don't do it!So, to fix this I did the following:1. Login to Sky Go and click 'Watch live TV' from the home page. It will attempt to show Sky News and fail with the error [t6013-c1501].2. Right click on the error and you should see the Menu option 'Silverlight'. Select this and a dialog should appear. Click the 'Application Storage' tab and delete any entry that relates to sky go. Clcik OK to close the dialog.3. Open explorer and navigate to the folder C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\PlayReady4. Rename the file mspr.hds to mspr.hds.OLD5. Go back to the browser and click F5. You may need to logout/login (not sure).Note: Don't rename/delete the folder C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\PlayReady or you will get the error [t6000-c1501].
