Hello,
I am trying to grab a value from a url:
http://localhost:8080/bin/task_status?id=2&cmd=percent_done
I am unsure how to actually do this within a javascript (ajax) command that once the page has been loaded will be called every .5 seconds. It is using the AJAX built in progress bar to display.
I have a problem that I have been trying to figure out and haven't been able to get past it because Chrome/FireFox/IE do not publicly publish their "rules" for pop up blocking when it comes to JavaScript, Flash, etc. I am trying to trigger a window.open() when a user clicks anywhere on page. I've tried this:
document.onclick = window.open("http://msn.com");
But all 3 browsers are blocking the popup, even though it is a user interaction.
I have an aspx that has the following javascript function being ran during the onload event of the body.
<body onload="startClock();">
However, I'm setting the aspx up to use a master page, so the body tag doesn't exist in the aspx anymore. How do I go about registering the startClock function to run when the page is hit and still have it use a masterpage?
Hi.
I need the remote client name (aka computer name) to save it into a database, I was looking into $_SERVER variables but it doesn't exist. How can I get this just using another PHP's function or even javascript if it is necessary.
I want to pass data to id
<script language="javascript" src="/foo.aspx?id=1"></script>
I have this code in a aspx page.
The data should be passed on load, before this code is being executed.
how can i do that?
Is here a convenient way to quote a large block of HTML that has both single and double quotes in JavaScript? Is there anything like a HERE-doc <<EOF, a multi-quote character """, or custom delimiters q{}?
Any creative or inventive solutions to this problem?
Hi,
I am trying to format this line of code in my popup window, but i am facing unterminated string literal error.
Can somebody please tell me how best I could format this.
window.setTimeout("winId.document.write('<script src="../js/tiny_mce/tiny_mce.js" type="text/javascript"></script>\n')", 10);
Also point out if this particular line of code would work fine in the popup?
It seems that javascript only can ready inline css if i want to check if element is display:hidden getting it with:
el.style.display
But how to check if display:none is placed inside external CSS file?
Clicking on the image should show div near it (.show() in jQuery).
But how can i attach div to that image? Is it done with pure css, or javascript?
I tried several "position:absolute", but can't attach it near image.
How it should be done?
For example, here is a string representing an expression:
var str = 'total = sum(price * qty) * 1.09875';
I want to extract variables (i.e., 'total', 'price' and 'qty' but not 'sum' since 'sum' is a function name) from this expression. What is the regexp pattern in javascript? Variable name consists of letters, digits, or the underscore, beginning with letters or the underscore.
I'm trying to find something like this: http://coffeescripter.com/code/ad-gallery/ that is controlled by an xml file that can simply contain the image location, thumbnail location and the text for title/description. Has to be pure jquery or javascript though - no flash based stuff.
I've found loads of great components but can't find one that is controlled by XML. Anyone happen to have seen one around anywhere please?

I am trying to split up a string by caps using Javascript,
Examples of what Im trying to do:
"HiMyNameIsBob" -> "Hi My Name Is Bob"
"GreetingsFriends" -> "Greetings Friends"
I am aware of the str.split() function, however I am not sure how to make this function work with capital letters.
I've tried:
str.split("(?=\\p{Upper})")
Unfortunately that doesn't work,
any help would be great.
Whats the easiest way in javascript to replace ABC, DEF, GHI with XYZ in the following strings

Hi,
Let us say I have a restful web service which can deal with DTOs in json format to perform a CRUD operation.
Let us also say I use jquery in an unobtrusive way to serialise my form at the frontend using:
JSON.stringify
What can I do to ensure that everything works even if JavaScript is switched off?
Thanks.
Best wishes,
Christian
Please help about controlling PDFs through JavaScript loaded inside Safari.
Safari uses a PDF plugin of its own something exclusive to Safari and not present in other webkit based browsers like Chrome.
Any of the or js commands that would work with the Adobe's plugin don't seem to work.
Any help / pointers would be appreciated.
Is there an simple way of turning a string from
Then go to http:/example.com/ and foo the bar!
into
Then go to <a href="http://example.com">example.com</a> and foo the bar!
in Javascript within an existing HTML page?
I think I have not got the syntax correct for writing a javascript function and calling it to assign its return value to a variable.
My function is:
getObjName(objId){
var objName ="";
$.ajax( {
type : "GET",
url : "Object",
dataType: 'json',
data : "objId="+objId,
success : function(data) {
objName = data;
}
});
return objName;
}
I am trying to call it and assign it to a variable with:
var objName = getObjName(objId);
However Eclipse is telling me that "there is no such function getObjName() defined"
To create a digital signature with the client certificate in javascript, there was a function: crypto.signtext() that doesn't work anymore
What is the easiest way to do this now?
I would like to extract some text between two points in a string, in Javascript
Say the string is
"start-extractThis-234"
The numbers at the end can be any number, but the hyphens are always present.
Ideally I think capturing between the two hypens should be ok.
I would like the result of the regex to be
extractThis
Hi,
May I know the reason of getting the output of the following code as: 1,10,10? Why not it is as: 10, 10?
<script type="text/javascript">
var str="1, 100 or 1000?";
var patt1=/10?/g;
document.write(str.match(patt1));
</script>
I want to create a PDF file based on users' query result (in html table).
