  • Looking for a mobile platform to view vector data and use it like a simple map

    I would like to develop or use an existing platform that will allow me to view custom vector data and use it as a map on mobile phones such as Android/IPhone (Maybe even WP7). I'm hoping that there's already a good infrastructure for what I need so I would not need to develop a whole infrastructure by myself. In Conclusion - Is there any existing platform that may answer my needs? If not, how would you guys suggest I should begin? How should I save my vector data? How could I read it? Should I view it with a graphics engine like OpenGL? Is there any chance this solution could be cross-platform? I know that it's possible since it was already done with apps like Waze. And it works the same on iOS and Android. Thanks!

Is there any way to generalize this behavior (refactor this code)? I mean that it's not a good idea to place the same case in all the commands.

  • Simple Communication between 2 instances of application

    I have a WPF application that can take a few optional command line arguments. This application is also a single instance application (using a mutex to close any instances if one is already open). What I want for it to do though, is if something tries to open the application with some cmd line args, that the application will do what it's suppose to do with those (in my application it opens different dialogs based on the cmd line). What is the easiest way to achieve this?   • nextSibling issue, should be simple

    Ok, I'm trying to come to grips with this nextSibling function in JS. Here's my issue within the following code... var fromRow = document.getElementById("row_1"); while(fromRow.nodeType == 1 && fromRow.nextSibling != null) { var fRowId = fromRow.id; if (!fRowId) continue; // THIS ONLY gets done once and alerts "row_1" ONLY :( alert(fRowId); fromRow = fromRow.nextSibling; } Ok can someone please tell me what is wrong with this code? There are siblings next to this document.getElementById("row_1"); element for sure as I can see them, and they all have id attributes, so why is it not getting the id attributes of the siblings?? I don't get it. row_1 is a TR element, and I need to get the TR elements next to it within this table, but for some reason, it only gets the 1 element that I can already get using document.getElementById, arggg.     I have a table MRU, that has 3 columns. (VALUE varchar(255); TYPE varchar(20); DT_ADD datetime) This is a table simply storing an entry and recording the date time it was recorded. What I wanted to do is: delete the oldest entry whenever I add a new entry that exceeds a certain number. here is my query: delete from MRU where type = 'FILENAME' ORDER BY DT_ADD limit 1; The query returns an error.     Hi everyone I am new to mongo, this is my db design: product := { name: str group: ref, comments: [ ref, ref, ref, ref ] } comments := { ... a bunch of comments stuff } tag := { _id: int, #Need this for online requests tag: str, products: [ {product: ref, score: float}, ... ], comments: [ {comment: ref, score: float}, ...], } So my usage pattern is: GIVEN a product, find comments that have certain tag and sort them accordingly. My current approach involves: Look for that tag object that has tag=myTag pull all the comments out, sorted look for that product where product.name=myProduct pull all the comments out (which are dbrefs by the way) loop through the result of 2, and checking if they are in 4, (this I can do a limit 10) etc. It's pretty inefficient. Any better methods?

    I'm making a BMI calculator that doesn't seem to be working. The math operations work if i just do something like w/h, but once i had the brackets, it returns an error. If i change the variables w and h and use a constant number, the operation works. Another problem is that although i'm making result a double, it seems to be rounding to the nearest int.     I'm trying to write a kernel which is a little long but the output is not correct. I took out a lot almost everything and finally narrowed down the an initialization problem and I found that the following works: __kernel void k_sIntegral(__global const float* eData,__global const unsigned long* elements,__global float* area){ const int i = get_global_id(0); if(i < elements[0]){ area[i] = i; } } But the following does not work: __kernel void k_sIntegral(__global const float* eData,__global const unsigned long* elements,__global float* area){ const int i = get_global_id(0); if(i < elements[0]){ __local float a,b,c,j,k,h,s; area[i] = i; } } Using the first kernel, I get: area[1] = 1 Using the second kernel, I get: area[1] = 0 (from calloc) Update: It seems like the code does work, but I need to change the function name otherwise it somehow calls the previous function even though it was not compiled (?). Any leads to why that happens? If anyone can let me know what might be the problem I'll be really grateful, thanks in advance!

  • How should 4 decimals places behave, being simple yet powerful

    I have a UI question that troubled me on the best method to handle 4 decimal places for prices. In an table already cramped full of data, I would want to simplified the interface to make it not so cluttered. The actual current UI is shown below. http://i41.tinypic.com/bg5tub.jpg The problem is, for a unit price/units/D.Price and Dis.(Discount) to have 4 decimal places ($0.3459) is quite rare but it still happens (5 in 100 entries). This will result a lot of junk decimal places, cluttering up the interface. What is the best solution to this problem? In short, I want to declutter it yet maintain the precision.
