  • How to listen for AffectsParentArrange events when you're not the parent

    - by Jeff B
    There is an attribute "AffectsParentArrange" that implicitly invalidates the parent's layout - but I want to attach an event handler to the "event" triggered by that attribute. When a child property with the attribute changes, the parent's arrangement is invalidated. I have a custom control (which is not the immediate parent) that needs to receive an event. Does anyone know of an event that can be used here? Do I need to provide a custom parent that overrides a method and fires an event?

  • Diffrernce between BackgroundWorker.ReportProgress() and Control.Invoke()

    - by ohadsc
    What is the difference between options 1 and 2 in the following? private void BGW_DoWork(object sender, DoWorkEventArgs e) { for (int i=1; i<=100; i++) { string txt = i.ToString(); if (Test_Check.Checked) //OPTION 1 Test_BackgroundWorker.ReportProgress(i, txt); else //OPTION 2 this.Invoke((Action<int, string>)UpdateGUI, new object[] {i, txt}); } } private void BGW_ProgressChanged(object sender, ProgressChangedEventArgs e) { UpdateGUI(e.ProgressPercentage, (string)e.UserState); } private void UpdateGUI(int percent, string txt) { Test_ProgressBar.Value = percent; Test_RichTextBox.AppendText(txt + Environment.NewLine); } Looking at reflector, the Control.Invoke() appears to use: this.FindMarshalingControl().MarshaledInvoke(this, method, args, 1); whereas BackgroundWorker.Invoke() appears to use: this.asyncOperation.Post(this.progressReporter, args); (I'm just guessing these are the relevant function calls.) If I understand correctly, BGW Posts to the WinForms window its progress report request, whereas Control.Invoke uses a CLR mechanism to invoke on the right thread. Am I close? And if so, what are the repercussions of using either ? Thanks

  • audio onprogress in chrome not working

    - by user351709
    Hi I am having a problem getting onprogress event for the audio tag working on chrome. it seems to work on fire fox. http://www.scottandrew.com/pub/html5audioplayer/ works on chrome but there is no progress bar update. When I copy the code and change the src to a .wav file and run it on fire fox it works perfectly. <style type="text/css"> #content { clear:both; width:60%; } .player_control { float:left; margin-right:5px; height: 20px; } #player { height:22px; } #duration { width:400px; height:15px; border: 2px solid #50b; } #duration_background { width:400px; height:15px; background-color:#ddd; } #duration_bar { width:0px; height:13px; background-color:#bbd; } #loader { width:0px; height:2px; } .style1 { height: 35px; } </style> <script type="text/javascript"> var audio_duration; var audio_player; function pageLoaded() { audio_player = $("#aplayer").get(0); //get the duration audio_duration = audio_player.duration; $('#totalTime').text(formatTimeSeconds(audio_player.duration)); //set the volume } function update(){ //get the duration of the player dur = audio_player.duration; time = audio_player.currentTime; fraction = time/dur; percent = (fraction*100); wrapper = document.getElementById("duration_background"); new_width = wrapper.offsetWidth*fraction; document.getElementById("duration_bar").style.width = new_width + "px"; $('#currentTime').text(formatTimeSeconds(audio_player.currentTime)); $('#totalTime').text(formatTimeSeconds(audio_player.duration)); } function formatTimeSeconds(time) { var minutes = Math.floor(time / 60); var seconds = "0" + (Math.floor(time) - (minutes * 60)).toString(); if (isNaN(minutes) || isNaN(seconds)) { return "0:00"; } var Strseconds = seconds.substr(seconds.length - 2); return minutes + ":" + Strseconds; } function playClicked(element){ //get the state of the player if(audio_player.paused) { audio_player.play(); newdisplay = "||"; }else{ audio_player.pause(); newdisplay = ">"; } $('#totalTime').text(formatTimeSeconds(audio_player.duration)); element.value = newdisplay; } function trackEnded(){ //reset the playControl to 'play' document.getElementById("playControl").value=">"; } function durationClicked(event){ //get the position of the event clientX = event.clientX; left = event.currentTarget.offsetLeft; clickoffset = clientX - left; percent = clickoffset/event.currentTarget.offsetWidth; duration_seek = percent*audio_duration; document.getElementById("aplayer").currentTime=duration_seek; } function Progress(evt){ $('#progress').val(Math.round(evt.loaded / evt.total * 100)); var width = $('#duration_background').css('width') $('#loader').css('width', evt.loaded / evt.total * width.replace("px","")); } function getPosition(name) { var obj = document.getElementById(name); var topValue = 0, leftValue = 0; while (obj) { leftValue += obj.offsetLeft; obj = obj.offsetParent; } finalvalue = leftValue; return finalvalue; } function SetValues() { var xPos = xMousePos; var divPos = getPosition("duration_background"); var divWidth = xPos - divPos; var Totalwidth = $('#duration_background').css('width').replace("px","") audio_player.currentTime = divWidth / Totalwidth * audio_duration; $('#duration_bar').css('width', divWidth); } </script> </head> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/MousePosition.js" ></script> <body onLoad="pageLoaded();"> <table> <tr> <td valign="bottom"><input id="playButton" type="button" onClick="playClicked(this);" value=">"/></td> <td colspan="2" class="style1" valign="bottom"> <div id='player'> <div id="duration" class='player_control' > <div id="duration_background" onClick="SetValues();"> <div id="loader" style="background-color: #00FF00; width: 0px;"></div> <div id="duration_bar" class="duration_bar"></div> </div> </div> </div> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> <td> <span id="currentTime">0:00</span> </td> <td align="right" > <span id="totalTime">0:00</span> </td> </tr> </table> <audio id='aplayer' src='<%=getDownloadLink() %>' type="audio/ogg; codecs=vorbis" onProgress="Progress(event);" onTimeUpdate="update();" onEnded="trackEnded();" > <b>Your browser does not support the <code>audio</code> element. </b> </audio> </body>

  • Show NSSegmentedControl menu when segment clicked, despite having set action

    - by Justin Williams
    I have an NSSegmentedControl on my UI with 4 buttons. The control is connected to a method that will call different methods depending on which segment is clicked: - (IBAction)performActionFromClick:(id)sender { NSInteger selectedSegment = [sender selectedSegment]; NSInteger clickedSegmentTag = [[sender cell] tagForSegment:selectedSegment]; switch (clickedSegmentTag) { case 0: [self showNewEventWindow:nil]; break; case 1: [self showNewTaskWindow:nil]; break; case 2: [self toggleTaskSplitView:nil]; break; case 3: [self showGearMenu]; break; } } Segment 4 has has a menu attached to it in the awakeFromNib method. I'd like this menu to drop down when the user clicks the segment. At this point, it only will drop if the user clicks & holds down on the menu. From my research online this is because of the connected action. I'm presently working around it by using some code to get the origin point of the segment control and popping up the context menu using NSMenu's popUpContextMenu:withEvent:forView but this is pretty hacktastic and looks bad compared to the standard behavior of having the menu drop down below the segmented control cell. Is there a way I can have the menu drop down as it should after a single click rather than doing the hacky context menu thing?

  • precise geolocalization via IP

    - by meo
    I tied the iPad the other day, and was amazed about the precision of the geolocalization by ip. Actually there is this action against hunger in the world that shows you very precisely where the persons are located that have took part to this petition: http://www.1billionhungry.org/meodai/impact/ I would like to integrate that in one of my projects. I took a look at the source but i could not figure out how they did it. Can someone help me out? is there a web service for that? Is the google map api doing this or are they using an other service? PS: Its not just the country/region of your IP/ISP IP that the service gives back, its a pretty precise positioning.

  • WPF - How do I use the UserControl with a dependency property and view model?

    - by user320849
    Hello, My goal is to have a user select a year and a month. Translate the selection into a date and have the user control send the date back to my view model. That part works for me....However, I cannot get the ViewModel's initial date to set those drop downs. public static readonly DependencyProperty Date = DependencyProperty.Register("ReturnDate", typeof(DateTime), typeof(DatePicker), new FrameworkPropertyMetadata{BindsTwoWayByDefault = true,}); public DateTime ReturnDate { get { return Convert.ToDateTime(GetValue(Date)); } set { SetDropDowns(value); SetValue(Date, value); } } The SetDropDowns(value) just sets the selected items on the combo boxes, however, the program never makes it to that method. On the view I am using: <cc1:DatePicker ReturnDate="{Binding Path=StartDate, Mode=TwoWay}" IsStart="True" /> If this has been answered, then my bad. I looked around and didn't see anything that worked for me. Thus, when the program loads how do I get the value from the view model to a method in order to set the combo boxes? Thanks, -Scott

  • Change user control appearance based on state

    - by John
    I have a user control that consists of four overlapping items: 2 rectangles, an ellipse and a lable <UserControl x:Class="UserControl" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Width="50.1" Height="45.424" Background="Transparent" FontSize="24"> <Grid> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="3.303*" /> <RowDefinition Height="40*" /> <RowDefinition Height="2.121*" /> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="5.344*" /> <ColumnDefinition Width="40.075*" /> <ColumnDefinition Width="4.663*" /> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <Rectangle Name="Rectangle1" RadiusX="5" RadiusY="5" Fill="DarkGray" Grid.ColumnSpan="3" Grid.RowSpan="3" /> <Ellipse Name="ellipse1" Fill="{Binding State}" Margin="0.016,0.001,4.663,0" Grid.Row="1" Grid.Column="1" Grid.ColumnSpan="2" Stroke="Black" IsEnabled="True" Panel.ZIndex="2" /> <Label Name="lblNumber" HorizontalContentAlignment="Center" VerticalContentAlignment="Center" Foreground="White" FontWeight="Bold" FontSize="24" Grid.Column="1" Grid.Row="1" Padding="0" Panel.ZIndex="3">9</Label> <Rectangle Grid.Column="1" Grid.Row="1" Margin="0.091,0,4.663,0" Fill="Blue" Name="rectangle2" Stroke="Black" Grid.ColumnSpan="2" Panel.ZIndex="1" /> </Grid> Here is my business object that I want to control the state of my user control: Imports System.Data Imports System.ComponentModel Public Class BusinessObject Implements INotifyPropertyChanged 'Public logger As log4net.ILog Public Event PropertyChanged As PropertyChangedEventHandler Implements INotifyPropertyChanged.PropertyChanged Private _state As States Public Enum States State1 State2 State3 End Enum Public Property State() As States Get Return _state End Get Set(ByVal value As States) If (value <> _state) Then _state = value RaiseEvent PropertyChanged(Me, New PropertyChangedEventArgs("State")) End If End Set End Property Protected Sub OnPropertyChanged(ByVal name As String) RaiseEvent PropertyChanged(Me, New PropertyChangedEventArgs(name)) End Sub I want to be able to change the state of a business object in the code behind and have that change the colors of multiple shapes in my usercontrol. I'm not sure about how to do the binding. I set the datacontext of the user control in the code behind but not sure if that's right. I'm new to WPF and programming in general and I'm stuck on where to go from here. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!

  • How to draw complex shape from code behind for custom control in resource dictionary

    - by HopelessCoder
    Hi I am new to wpf and am having a problem which may or may not be trivial. I have defined a custom control as follows in the resource dictionary: <ResourceDictionary x:Class="SyringeSlider.Themes.Generic" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:local="clr-namespace:SyringeSlider"> <Style TargetType="{x:Type local:CustomControl1}"> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type local:CustomControl1}"> <Border Background="{TemplateBinding Background}" BorderBrush="{TemplateBinding BorderBrush}" BorderThickness="{TemplateBinding BorderThickness}"> <Canvas Height="{TemplateBinding Height}" Width="{TemplateBinding Width}" Name="syringeCanvas"> </Canvas> </Border> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> </ResourceDictionary> Unfortunately I cannot go beyond this because I would like to draw a geometry onto the canvas consisting of a set of multiple line geometries whose dimensions are calculated as a function of the space available in the canvas. I believe that I need a code behind method to do this, but have not been able to determine how to link the xaml definition to a code behind method. Note that I have set up a class x:Class="SyringeSlider.Themes.Generic" for specifically this purpose, but can't figure out which Canvas property to link the drawing method to. My drawing method looks like this private void CalculateSyringe() { int adjHeight = (int) Height - 1; int adjWidth = (int) Width - 1; // Calculate some very useful values based on the chart above. int borderOffset = (int)Math.Floor(m_borderWidth / 2.0f); int flangeLength = (int)(adjHeight * .05f); int barrelLeftCol = (int)(adjWidth * .10f); int barrelLength = (int)(adjHeight * .80); int barrelRightCol = adjWidth - barrelLeftCol; int coneLength = (int)(adjHeight * .10); int tipLeftCol = (int)(adjWidth * .45); int tipRightCol = adjWidth - tipLeftCol; int tipBotCol = adjWidth - borderOffset; Path mySyringePath = new Path(); PathGeometry mySyringeGeometry = new PathGeometry(); PathFigure mySyringeFigure = new PathFigure(); mySyringeFigure.StartPoint = new Point(0, 0); Point pointA = new Point(0, flangeLength); mySyringeFigure.Segments.Add(new LineSegment(pointA, true)); Point pointB = new Point(); pointB.Y = pointA.Y + barrelLength; pointB.X = 0; mySyringeFigure.Segments.Add(new LineSegment(pointB, true)); // You get the idea....Add more points in this way mySyringeGeometry.Figures.Add(mySyringeFigure); mySyringePath.Data = mySyringeGeometry; } SO my question is: 1) Does what I am trying to do make any sense? 2) Can a use a canvas for this purpose? If not, what are my other options? Thanks!

  • how to get the latitude or longitude in HTML 5

    - by steven spielberg
    few month ago i write something to get the latitude or longitude from google API. latter i get the database from drupal for latitude or longitude to most of city in worlds. but the problem is that the same city name can be found two or more times in a area. like Firozabad in India and bangladesh both. Agra in UP and agar in Rajasthan. means the confusion in name by user if they found two city by same name they are confused. i hear that HTML 5 support latitude or longitude of the visiter but i need latitude or longitude where they are born or city they want to use to fill a form. how i can get the latitude or longtiude from API like google and some other. the process is that: user put the location in textbox for getting their latitude or longitude. for right thing i want to show them all location [if same thing found more then one]. they can choose the right location and after click they can get the lati and langitude. how i can do this using any API.

  • Marker on Google Map added only once.

    - by Vafello
    I have the following code: function clicked(overlay, latlng) { var icon3 = new GIcon(); icon3.image = "marker.png"; icon3.iconAnchor = new GPoint(15, 40); var marker2 = new GMarker(latlng, { icon: icon3, draggable: true, title: 'Drag me' }); map.addOverlay(marker2); } Each time I click on the map a new marker is placed on the map. The problem is that I need only one marker and if I click several times, each time a new marker is added. How to change the code so only one marker is placed and when the map is clicked again it just changes its location?

  • Different results between Android Geocoder and Google Geocoding web service

    - by user3571822
    I am creating an Android application and I need to use the geolocation. I have started by using the Geocoder API from Android (android.location.geocoder) but it causes some issues (timed out waiting for response from server) which seem to be common according to what I have read. To make my application work when this kind of error occurs, I use the Geocoding web service. Now, the application works every time. The problem is that the results returned by the geocoder from API and the geocoder from the web service are not the same. For example the web service returns only 3 addresses with only city name and country whereas the geocoding from the API returns about 8 addresses with the feature name, the thoroughfare, the locality... The question is: is there a way to make the results from the web service exactly the same than the ones from the API? EDIT Here is my MainGeocoder class: public class MainGeocoder { private Geocoder geocoderAPI; private GeocoderRest geocoderRest; public MainGeocoder(Context context) { geocoderAPI = new Geocoder(context); geocoderRest = new GeocoderRest(context); } public List<Address> getFromLocationName(String search, int maxResults) { List<Address> addresses; try { addresses = geocoderAPI.getFromLocationName(search, maxResults); return addresses; } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); try { addresses = geocoderRest.getFromLocationName(search, maxResults); return addresses; } catch (IOException e1) { return null; } catch (LimitExceededException e1) { return null; } } } } It basically tries to get the list of addresses from the API Geocoder. If an IO exception is thrown it gets this list from the web service by using the GeocoderRest class which has been pasted from here: http://stackoverflow.com/a/15117087/3571822

  • How to access a nested MultiView control in ASP.NET

    - by Eden
    I have an asp.net page with a multiview control nested within another multiview control. In my code behind I'm trying to access the inner most multiview control to set it's ActiveViewIndex. The problem I'm having is that I don't seem to be able to access the control. It's not available directly via this.MySubMultiview. And attempts to use this.FindControl or this.MyOuterMultiView.FindControl doesn't work. Html: ... ... Code behind: MultiView multiAddress = (MultiView)this.MultiViewMain.FindControl("MultiViewAddress"); multiAddress.ActiveViewIndex = 1;
