    I am trying to get a modal confirmation dialog working when a user submits a form. My approach, I thought logically, would be to catch the form submission. This is because I'm pretty certain that the scope of the dialog needs to be at the same level as the function which calls it. However, the issue is that when you click 'Confirm' nothing happens. The submit action does not continue. I've tried $('#completeform').submit(); also, which doesn't seem to work. I have tried removing the .preventDefault() to ensure that the form submission isn't completely cancelled, but it doesn't seem to make a difference between that and returning false. Not checking the box, show and alert fine. Might change to dialog at some point ;), clicking 'Cancel' closes the dialog and remains on the page, but the elusive 'Confirm' buttons seems to not continue with the form submission event. If anyone can help, I'd happily share my lunch with you! ;)

  • Producing a Form from an Overlay from Reporting Services rdlc Reports

    I am not sure what you call it in other technologies, on the IBM i (or iSeries) we call it overlays. The overlay is an image of a form that is stored on the server then a program generates the form with fields from the database so you can eliminate preprinted forms. I had a problem last year with the method I was trying at the time. It was a rush job at the time to be revisited at a later point. The work-around at the time was to export to PDF. So now it is "later" and once again is a rush (imagine that). This is all done through a web-based interface. So how do you generate forms from something that was once a preprinted form? What method do you recommend? This is a legal form and must be filled out a certain way and can have many in a batch (up to 50 or so). I would prefer to not have them print one page at a time. Any ideas would be appreciated!

    Hello guys. Just want to know if there is a way to detect how many times a user has clicked a button by using Jquery. My main application has a button that can add input fields depend on the users. He/She can adds as many input fields as they need. When they submit the form, The add page will add the data to my database. My current idea is to create a hidden input field and set the value to zero. Every time a user clicks the button, jquery would update the attribute of the hidden input field value. Then the "add page" can detect the loop time. See the example below. I just want to know if there are better practices to do this.   • PHP form processing - how to capture text from field that has variable Name/ID

    I have a form that has a field pulled from the database as a dropdown. I need to get the text selected in the dropdown but I don't know in advance what the field ID will be. This is basically just a form that has already been generated. I don't need to pull anything from the database, it's already on this page. All I need to do is get the form information and email it, no writing to the database. I know how to do the _Request for the other fields based on the ID but I'm not sure how to do this one. The ID changes. It can be ID=1, ID-2, etc. I need to do something like: _REQUEST form element where ID is LIKE "ID[*]" or something similar. Any suggestions or links to tutorials?     Hi there I have the following XML: <data> <page id="1118"> <itms> <values> <value>1104</value> </values> </itms> </page> <page id="1177"> <itms> <values> <value>1273</value> <value>1215</value> </values> </itms> </page> </data> I need to get the @id from the < page , where a certain value is present in one of the < value -tags. The id that need to be in the < value is kept in this: $itm/@id. This means that if my $itm/@id is equal to 1273, I need to get 1177 returned. I'm not quite sure how to achieve this. Actually I could have XML that looks like this as well: <data> <page id="1118"> <itms> <values> <value>1104</value> </values> </itms> </page> <page id="1177"> <itms> <values> <value>1273</value> <value>1215</value> </values> </itms> </page> <page id="1352"> <itms> <values> <value>1242</value> <value>1273</value> </values> </itms> </page> </data> If that's the case, I need the latest id, so this means that if the $itm/@id matches values in more < page 's, then I need to grab the value from the latest page.   • receiving data from serialport stops when main form is minimized or moved

    Sir, I apologize if this is already covered somewhere. I did a search and find something which I have already implemented. I am developing an application which receives data from a device connected via serialport. I am using SerialPort datareceived event to capture data. I am to display data in text boxes of the main form. Data is received frequently. I used Timer to send command to the device, in response device send some data. Timer interval is 100 ms. In every 100 ms interval some command is sent and correspondingly data is received. I used Invoke function to update the GUI elements like TExtbox, labels etc. Everything is fine. All the elements are updating beautifully. But during receiving data if I make any change in main form like moving form, minimizing, maximizing, or clicking somewhere in the form, then data receiving stops. I couldnot find the reason why its happening ? I also changed the timer interval to 200,300,400,500 but same problem is there. Please tell me why its happening? And possible solution...     my script.php returns this XML <all> <item> <field1>value1</field1> <field2>value2</field2> </item> <item> <field1>value1</field1> <field2>value2</field2> </item> </all> The HTTPService uses the default resultFormat="object" but I don't declare it since it's the default. Then I bind it to a List dataProvider="{getDataHTTP.lastResult.all.item}" I get no problems when the number of item returned is more than 1. But when it's only 1 item I get an error cannot convert XMLList to mx.collections.IList. I tried different solutions including trying to cast it as XMLListCollection but it still gives an error for single items. Does anyone know of a way to possibly solve this?

    Hey guys, I have been working on a p2p namespace for some of my programs. I created a system to encrypt/decrypt the packets send/received with the class. I was using the basic public private key system: 1) encrypt the data with Symmetric encryption 2) encrypt the symmetric key with RSA. Then do the opposite when you decrypted.. I was wondering though, how would you verify if the packet was coming from where it said it was. I was going to use a basic certificate system (where you encrypt with your private RSA key, then they decrypt it with your public key), but I don't know how to do this with C#. I am using the RSACryptoServiceProvider class. Does anyone know how do this? Thanks, Max
