  • Redirect to hash URL

    I'm building a site with a hashchange on wordpress, all working good. It just loads a single.php template file into a div. The problem is that i can still access my single url (http://www.mydomain.com/my-single-post). Since its not having any head and style tags with it, i don't want people to go over there. Also google has picked up the direct links, because I use the href attribute to load content into the div. So my question is: If someone clicks a link lets say in a forum, http://www.mydomain.com/my-single-post , is it possible to redirect him instantly to http://www.mydomain.com/#my-single-post ? I have researched that it has something to do with .htaccess, but I also have Pages, where i don't want the hash infront of the page-name.

I don't want to make any permanent changes to the charset in the database, so, how is it possible to temporarily displayed a few records as utf8 when needed?

    The main page ("parent.html") has a link that ajaxloads a page ("page1.html") into a div ("targetdiv") in the main page, like so: parent html: $("#targetdiv").html(loading).load('page1.html'); This works fine and "page1.html" is loaded into "targetdiv". The "page1.html" also has a link in it that is supposed to ajaxload another page ("page2.html") into "targetdiv" (onto itself), like so: page1.html: (in "targetdiv") $("#targetdiv").html(loading).load('page2.html'); This does not work; "html(loading)" comes up in "targetdiv" and stays there, "page2.html" is not loaded.     I have a template system, that replaces text such as {HEADER} with the appropriate content. I use an array like this, that replaces the key with the value using str_replace. $array = array("HEADER","This is the header"); foreach($array as $var => $content) { $template = str_replace("{" . strtoupper($var). "}", $content,$template); } Now im trying to use a defined variable like this: define("NAME","Site Name"); Inside the value for the header. So I want the defined variable to be inside the array which gets replaced so it would look like this, but it doesn't work. $array = array("HEADER","Welcome to ".NAME."'s website!"); Any ideas? tell me if im not clear

    Youtube video does not show up in a modal window when viewed in a desktop version of Chrome. The modal window pops up but the youtube video does not. https://animalhealth.pfizer.com/sites/pahweb/US/EN/Products/Pages/ClarifideStories.aspx It works in IE and Firefox on Windows7, works in Chrome on Android ICS and iOS6 iPad. It is on a sharepoint site but if I open a version saved to my desktop it works fine in chrome.   • Can jquery capture the dynamic dom events and perform actions

    I just wanted to know if something like this is possible. Jquery should fire some action on certian custom event. Like Whenever a new row is added to dom dynamically to table then i have certain action like change the background color to example red. That should work across the whole site. Somethings like Event listeners in Doctrine2 or Signals in Django EDIT: Basically i want some thing like where i can create custom event $.AddnewEvent(newRowAdded); Then i can customise that event with my own functions like $.newRowAdded(function(){ blah blah });

    My aim is to create a website where I can add some test content along with pictures. Then, what exactly I need is an easy way to add those into the site. Say, I have designed (in photoshop) a certain theme for this purpose, and now I am wondering if I could use drupal for the matter? Or should I create a website from scratch? Which route is the easiest? Apply the theme to the drupal? I've just never used no CMS, that's why I ask.

  • Rails - set POST request limit (file upload)

    I am building a file uploader for Rails, using CarrierWave. I am pretty happy about it's API, except that I don't seem to be able to cut file uploads that exceed a limit on the fly. I found this plugin for validation, but the problem is that it happens after the upload is completed. It is completely unacceptable in my case, as any user could take the site down by uploading a huge file. So, I figure that the way would be to use some Rack configuration or middleware that will limit POST body size as it receives. I am hosting on Heroku, as context. *I am aware of https://github.com/dwilkie/carrierwave_direct but it doesn't solve my issue as I have to resize first and discard the original large image.

  • How to remember last state with Jquery?

    I have a menu with submenus that can be toggled (hide/show type deal). Is there a relatively easy way to remember last state of the menu? (I hide/show submenu when clicking on a header and change a style of the header so the background arrow will change (up/down)). It works fine, but I'd like it to remember last state, so when user goes to another page on the site and gets back, the menu shows the same way as user left it. I'm not really good with cookies so any help will be appreciated. Yeah, menu is generated dynamically from the db using PHP. There are now only 2 headers with submenus, but there will be more so I'd need some method that's "scalable" for any number of submenus.   • Omit attribute name from validation error message (at start of it)?

    I write code in English but I'm currently doing a site which is fully translated to another language (validation error messages included). However, I have a problem because validation error messages always seem to include the name of the attribute the error is on at the start of the error, e.g.: Title Prosimo izpolnite naziv fakultete. I want to get rid of the Title at the start, like so: Prosimo izpolnite naziv fakultete. Any help is appreciated. I would rather see if this can be solved without installing any 3rd party plugins. If it's possible to provide translations for attribute names, that would be a cool solution too, but I would still like to know how it can be done both ways (omit or translate).

  • Uninterrupted mp3 play on a website?

    Client is requesting a single track to be heard across the website. Generally I advise against it, but they insist. So, what is the most straightforward way of having a flash player embedded in a site, and when a user goes to another page there isn't a gap/interruption? I am thinking an iframe is required.. I am using a flash player that has autoresume, but that only solves picking up where you last left off on the song before going to another page. I tried searching SO for an answer..

  • Solr authentication possible? (or apache port authentication would also work)

    Currently anybody can access the solr admin page by going to my_ip:8983/solr I can't have it like that, so how can I make it prompt for password or something? I have setup my servers apache2.conf file to prompt for password whenever my site is accessed by www.mydomain.com. But when using another port, the "require password" wont show up. Any ideas how to secure this? Don't point me to the SolrSecurity wiki because it's simply too outdated. I have tried it without luck. Thanks

But on subsequent clicks the window/tab is loaded but remains hidden.     I found some helpful stuff on this site but my input file is different from the examples already posted and I cannot make the leap in an efficient manner. My input file looks like this: sample_dude data1 data2 data3 data4 sample_lady data5 data6 data7 data8 sample_dude data9 data10 data11 data12 sample_child data13 data14 data15 data16 I want to create a separate file for each sample with all the data columns. For example, one file would be called sample_dude.txt and look like this: data1 data2 data3 data4 data9 data10 data11 data12 There is an unknown number of samples but always just four data columns. Any help greatly appreciated. Thank you. PS: I'm trying to do this in python.

    Hello eveyone, i using elastic in my script. I have also jQuery Tabs (every will be get over AJAX and content a textarea) and a timer for Saving content all 3 minutes. So some JS code... I have 2 parts on my site, left and right. On the right side i have 2 tabs (jQuery not AJAX) with each one textarea. And Left side between 5-10 Textareas each in Tab but they gonna be loaded only if Tab is activ (AJAX). my Problem is: If i paste a lot of text in a Textarea (1000 characters) the writing get slowed, not fluid, jerky. It ist 100% the elastic problem, without elastic there no Problem while writing. Have some one an idea for the solution of this Porblem? Is it Overload?

    We're currently storing answers for 52 predefined questions for our clients in our matchmaking site. we have over 30million unique users summing up for worst case of a 52x30million rows. Of these 52 questions, 11 are required and always answered. Our previous solution was to open an answer table for each question. This solution distributed our answer rows for faster insert/delete/update. But it also caused us an unconventional programming such as dynamically opening a table each time a question is added/updated, or removing an answer table if it was to be destroyed permanently. We want to come up with a better solution for our third version but could't get very far yet. Any ideas to accomplish this in any other, perhaps a more conventional, way?

    I'm creating a site that has a series of four images on the homepage used as navigation with a large image beneath. <div style="width: 696px"> <div class="imglink"></div> <div class="imglink"></div> <div class="imglink"></div> <div class="imglink"></div> </div> <div style="width:696px"> ... </div> The "imglink" divs are 160px wide. I would like the images in the top div to be horizontally spaced evenly inside the div, with the two outer divs flush with the edges of the image below. I've been trying out floats, margins, padding, etc for a couple hours now and can't figure it out. Thanks for your help!

    I've worked with J2EE recently and like the idea of struts.xml where I can handle the redirection to pages based on return string from action classes. In PHP, in my new under-development site, I am trying to follow the MVC standards without an MVC framework used from the internet. So I create the controllers, models and views (empty now). The only thing I am really stuck at is when I submit the form in view (insert_product.php) then I will need to create another php page to handle the post data and pass them to controllers. Anyway of avoiding creating those pages and maybe having something like struts.xml? Even if I can post data directly to controller class, that would be good. Thanks,
