  • PyQt QAbstractListModel seems to ignore tristate flags

    - by mcieslak
    I've been trying for a couple days to figure out why my QAbstractLisModel won't allow a user to toggle a checkable item in three states. The model returns the Qt.IsTristate and Qt.ItemIsUserCheckable in the flags() method, but when the program runs only Qt.Checked and Qt.Unchecked are toggled on edit. class cboxModel(QtCore.QAbstractListModel): def __init__(self, parent=None): super(cboxModel, self).__init__(parent) self.cboxes = [ ['a',0], ['b',1], ['c',2], ['d',0] ] def rowCount(self,index=QtCore.QModelIndex()): return len(self.cboxes) def data(self,index,role): if not index.isValid: return QtCore.QVariant() myname,mystate = self.cboxes[index.row()] if role == QtCore.Qt.DisplayRole: return QtCore.QVariant(myname) if role == QtCore.Qt.CheckStateRole: if mystate == 0: return QtCore.QVariant(QtCore.Qt.Unchecked) elif mystate == 1: return QtCore.QVariant(QtCore.Qt.PartiallyChecked) elif mystate == 2: return QtCore.QVariant(QtCore.Qt.Checked) return QtCore.QVariant() def setData(self,index,value,role=QtCore.Qt.EditRole): if index.isValid(): self.cboxes[index.row()][1] = value.toInt()[0] self.emit(QtCore.SIGNAL("dataChanged(QModelIndex,QModelIndex)"), index, index) print self.cboxes return True return False def flags(self,index): if not index.isValid(): return QtCore.Qt.ItemIsEditable return QtCore.Qt.ItemIsEnabled | QtCore.Qt.ItemIsEditable | QtCore.Qt.ItemIsUserCheckable | QtCore.Qt.ItemIsTristate You can test it with this, class MainForm(QtGui.QMainWindow): def __init__(self, parent=None): super(MainForm, self).__init__(parent) model = cboxModel(self) self.view = QtGui.QListView() self.view.setModel(model) self.setCentralWidget(self.view) app = QtGui.QApplication(sys.argv) form = MainForm() form.show() app.exec_() and see that only 2 states are available. I'm assuming there's something simple I'm missing. Any ideas? Thanks!

  • PyQt4.QtCore doesn't contain many of its classes and attributes

    - by toc777
    Hi everyone, I have built PyQt4 from source and everything went smoothly until I tried to use some of the classes and attributes located in QtCore. For some reason QtCore is missing a lot of functionality and data that should be there. For example from PyQt4.QtCore import QT_VERSION_STR is an import error. There were no errors or warnings given when building the packages and I have also tried with the PyQt packages from yum but I have the same problem. Has anyone else encountered this problem before? Thanks.

  • PyQt4 and QTableView with spinbox and checkbox

    - by ekapek
    Hi, I have a QTableView with QSqlTableModel and with 3 columns, now I need to have: - second column: spinbox after clicked to edit - third column: checkbox (displayed center) My code: class SpinBoxDelegate(QtGui.QItemDelegate): def createEditor(self, parent, option, index): editor = QtGui.QSpinBox(parent) editor.setMinimum(0) editor.setMaximum(100) print 'spinbox' return editor def setEditorData(self, spinBox, index): value = index.model().data(index, QtCore.Qt.EditRole).toInt()[0] spinBox.setValue(value) def setModelData(self, spinBox, model, index): spinBox.interpretText() value = spinBox.value() model.setData(index, value, QtCore.Qt.EditRole) def updateEditorGeometry(self, editor, option, index): editor.setGeometry(option.rect) class myQSqlTableModel(QtSql.QSqlTableModel): def flags(self,index): result = QtSql.QSqlTableModel.flags(self,index); if index.column() == 2: result |= QtCore.Qt.ItemIsUserCheckable return result def data(self,index,role): if not index.isValid: return QtCore.QVariant() value = QtSql.QSqlTableModel.data(self, index, role) if index.column() == 2: if role == QtCore.Qt.CheckStateRole: return QtCore.Qt.Unchecked if QtSql.QSqlTableModel.data(self, index).toInt()[0] else QtCore.Qt.Checked elif role == QtCore.Qt.DisplayRole: return QtCore.QVariant() return value and self.model = myQSqlTableModel(self) self.model.setTable("person") self.model.setEditStrategy(QtSql.QSqlTableModel.OnManualSubmit) self.model.select(): self.model.setHeaderData(0, QtCore.Qt.Horizontal, self.tr("ID")) self.model.setHeaderData(1, QtCore.Qt.Horizontal, self.tr("A")) self.model.setHeaderData(2, QtCore.Qt.Horizontal, self.tr("B")) self.view = QtGui.QTableView() self.view.setModel(self.model) self.view.setSortingEnabled(True) spinDelegate = SpinBoxDelegate() self.view.setItemDelegateForColumn(1,spinDelegate) but it does't work: spinbox don't show after click and checkbox can't be clicked and is aligned to left Any help?

  • Setting checkstate on a ListWidgetItem

    - by viraptor
    Hi, I'm trying to create a list of checkbox items that change the status on activation. I can connect the activate signal and everything seems to work, but changes on the screen. Am I missing some steps here? Here's the list creation: self.listField = QtGui.QListWidget(self) muted_categories = qb.settingsCollection['mutedCategories'].split('|') main_categories = sorted(set(qb.categoryTopNames.values())) for category in main_categories: item = QtGui.QListWidgetItem(category, self.listField) item.setFlags(QtCore.Qt.ItemIsUserCheckable | QtCore.Qt.ItemIsEnabled) if category in muted_categories: item.setCheckState(QtCore.Qt.Checked) else: item.setCheckState(QtCore.Qt.Unchecked) self.listField.connect(self.listField, QtCore.SIGNAL('itemActivated(QListWidgetItem*)'), self.doItemChangeState) and here's the handler: def doItemChangeState(self, item): """ invert the state of the activated item """ if item.checkState() == QtCore.Qt.Checked: item.setCheckState(QtCore.Qt.Unchecked) else: item.setCheckState(QtCore.Qt.Checked) I verified that the handler is fired after clicking - if I put prints there, it will alternate "checked" / "unchecked". What can I do to refresh the checkboxes themselves?

  • Recognition source of event in PyQT

    - by xTrol
    Hi, I`m starting with PyQt4 and right now I have a problem with events. I have one main class let say MainWindow. MainWindow has a list of buttons of type ButtonX (inherence form QPushButton). I would like to achieve one of 2 solutions (depends which is easier). 1) After click one of the button from the list I would like to run a one method of MainWindow. I would like to be able to read a source of event there (recognize clicked button) 2) Second solution is to run a method defined in ButtonX class. What I tried is: QtCore.QObject.connect(self.getButton(0, 0), QtCore.SIGNAL("clicked()"), self.getButton(0, 0).buttonMethod()) QtCore.QObject.connect(self.getButton(0, 0), QtCore.SIGNAL("clicked()"), self.getButton(0, 0), QtCore.SLOT("incrementValue()")) and even this line occure suspend Python interpreter QtCore.QObject.connect(self.getButton(0, 0), QtCore.SIGNAL("clicked()"), self.getButton(0, 0), QtCore.SLOT("incrementValue"))

  • Problem in understanding connectSlotsByName() in pyqt???

    - by Jebagnanadas
    Hi all, I couldn't understand the connectSlotsByName() method which is predominently used by pyuic4.. As far the class is single in a PyQt file it's ok since we can use self which will be associated with a single object throughout.. But when we try to use various classes from different files the problem and the need to use connectSlotsByName() arises.. Here's what i encountered which is weird.. I created a stacked widget.. I placed my first widget on it.. It has a button called "Next ". On clicking next it hides the current widget and adds another widget which has the "click me" button.. The problem here is the click event for "click me" button in second is not captured.. It's a minimal example that i can give for my original problem.. Please help me.. This is file No.1..(which has the parent stacked widget and it's first page). On clicking next it adds the second page which has "clickme" button in file2.. from PyQt4 import QtCore, QtGui import file2 class Ui_StackedWidget(QtGui.QStackedWidget): def __init__(self,parent=None): QtGui.QStackedWidget.__init__(self,parent) self.setObjectName("self") self.resize(484, 370) self.setWindowTitle(QtGui.QApplication.translate("self", "stacked widget", None, QtGui.QApplication.UnicodeUTF8)) self.createWidget1() def createWidget1(self): self.page=QtGui.QWidget() self.page.setObjectName("widget1") self.pushButton=QtGui.QPushButton(self.page) self.pushButton.setGeometry(QtCore.QRect(150, 230, 91, 31)) self.pushButton.setText(QtGui.QApplication.translate("self", "Next >", None, QtGui.QApplication.UnicodeUTF8)) self.addWidget(self.page) QtCore.QMetaObject.connectSlotsByName(self.page) QtCore.QObject.connect(self.pushButton,QtCore.SIGNAL('clicked()'),self.showWidget2) def showWidget2(self): self.page.hide() obj=file2.widget2() obj.createWidget2(self) if __name__ == "__main__": import sys app = QtGui.QApplication(sys.argv) ui = Ui_StackedWidget() ui.show() sys.exit(app.exec_()) Here's file2 from PyQt4 import QtGui,QtCore class widget2(): def createWidget2(self,parent): self.page = QtGui.QWidget() self.page.setObjectName("page") self.parent=parent self.groupBox = QtGui.QGroupBox(self.page) self.groupBox.setGeometry(QtCore.QRect(30, 20, 421, 311)) self.groupBox.setObjectName("groupBox") self.groupBox.setTitle(QtGui.QApplication.translate("self", "TestGroupBox", None, QtGui.QApplication.UnicodeUTF8)) self.pushButton = QtGui.QPushButton(self.groupBox) self.pushButton.setGeometry(QtCore.QRect(150, 120, 92, 28)) self.pushButton.setObjectName("pushButton") self.pushButton.setText(QtGui.QApplication.translate("self", "Click Me", None, QtGui.QApplication.UnicodeUTF8)) self.parent.addWidget(self.page) self.parent.setCurrentWidget(self.page) QtCore.QMetaObject.connectSlotsByName(self.page) QtCore.QObject.connect(self.pushButton,QtCore.SIGNAL('clicked()'),self.printMessage) def printMessage(self): print("Hai") Though in both the widgets(i mean pages) QtCore.QMetaObject.connectSlotsByName(self.page) the clicked signal in second dialog isn't getting processed. Thanks in advance.. Might be a beginner question..

  • Windows DD-esque implementation in Qt 5

    I'm trying to get into Qt and as a project I want to try and pull a binary image from a hard drive in Windows. Now if I specify a dd images as the input it writes the image perfectly, but when I try to use a disk as the input it only writes 0x00. I tried a few variants, but to no avail.

  • Why doesn't my QsciLexerCustom subclass work in PyQt4 using QsciScintilla?

    - by Jon Watte
    My end goal is to get Erlang syntax highlighting in QsciScintilla using PyQt4 and Python 2.6. I'm running on Windows 7, but will also need Ubuntu support. PyQt4 is missing the necessary wrapper code for the Erlang lexer/highlighter that "base" scintilla has, so I figured I'd write a lightweight one on top of QsciLexerCustom. It's a little bit problematic, because the Qsci wrapper seems to really want to talk about line+index rather than offset-from-start when getting/setting subranges of text. Meanwhile, the lexer gets arguments as offset-from-start. For now, I get a copy of the entire text, and split that up as appropriate. I have the following lexer, and I apply it with setLexer(). It gets all the appropriate calls when I open a new file and sets this as the lexer, and prints a bunch of appropriate lines based on what it's doing... but there is no styling in the document. I tried making all the defined styles red, and the document is still stubbornly black-on-white, so apparently the styles don't really "take effect" What am I doing wrong? If nobody here knows, what's the appropriate discussion forum where people might actually know these things? (It's an interesting intersection between Python, Qt and Scintilla, so I imagine the set of people who would know is small) Let's assume prefs.declare() just sets up a dict that returns the value for the given key (I've verified this -- it's not the problem). Let's assume scintilla is reasonably properly constructed into its host window QWidget. Specifically, if I apply a bundled lexer (such as QsciLexerPython), it takes effect and does show styled text. prefs.declare('font.name.margin', "MS Dlg") prefs.declare('font.size.margin', 8) prefs.declare('font.name.code', "Courier New") prefs.declare('font.size.code', 10) prefs.declare('color.editline', "#d0e0ff") class LexerErlang(Qsci.QsciLexerCustom): def __init__(self, obj = None): Qsci.QsciLexerCustom.__init__(self, obj) self.sci = None self.plainFont = QtGui.QFont() self.plainFont.setPointSize(int(prefs.get('font.size.code'))) self.plainFont.setFamily(prefs.get('font.name.code')) self.marginFont = QtGui.QFont() self.marginFont.setPointSize(int(prefs.get('font.size.code'))) self.marginFont.setFamily(prefs.get('font.name.margin')) self.boldFont = QtGui.QFont() self.boldFont.setPointSize(int(prefs.get('font.size.code'))) self.boldFont.setFamily(prefs.get('font.name.code')) self.boldFont.setBold(True) self.styles = [ Qsci.QsciStyle(0, QtCore.QString("base"), QtGui.QColor("#000000"), QtGui.QColor("#ffffff"), self.plainFont, True), Qsci.QsciStyle(1, QtCore.QString("comment"), QtGui.QColor("#008000"), QtGui.QColor("#eeffee"), self.marginFont, True), Qsci.QsciStyle(2, QtCore.QString("keyword"), QtGui.QColor("#000080"), QtGui.QColor("#ffffff"), self.boldFont, True), Qsci.QsciStyle(3, QtCore.QString("string"), QtGui.QColor("#800000"), QtGui.QColor("#ffffff"), self.marginFont, True), Qsci.QsciStyle(4, QtCore.QString("atom"), QtGui.QColor("#008080"), QtGui.QColor("#ffffff"), self.plainFont, True), Qsci.QsciStyle(5, QtCore.QString("macro"), QtGui.QColor("#808000"), QtGui.QColor("#ffffff"), self.boldFont, True), Qsci.QsciStyle(6, QtCore.QString("error"), QtGui.QColor("#000000"), QtGui.QColor("#ffd0d0"), self.plainFont, True), ] print("LexerErlang created") def description(self, ix): for i in self.styles: if i.style() == ix: return QtCore.QString(i.description()) return QtCore.QString("") def setEditor(self, sci): self.sci = sci Qsci.QsciLexerCustom.setEditor(self, sci) print("LexerErlang.setEditor()") def styleText(self, start, end): print("LexerErlang.styleText(%d,%d)" % (start, end)) lines = self.getText(start, end) offset = start self.startStyling(offset, 0) print("startStyling()") for i in lines: if i == "": self.setStyling(1, self.styles[0]) print("setStyling(1)") offset += 1 continue if i[0] == '%': self.setStyling(len(i)+1, self.styles[1]) print("setStyling(%)") offset += len(i)+1 continue self.setStyling(len(i)+1, self.styles[0]) print("setStyling(n)") offset += len(i)+1 def getText(self, start, end): data = self.sci.text() print("LexerErlang.getText(): " + str(len(data)) + " chars") return data[start:end].split('\n') Applied to the QsciScintilla widget as follows: _lexers = { 'erl': (Q.SCLEX_ERLANG, LexerErlang), 'hrl': (Q.SCLEX_ERLANG, LexerErlang), 'html': (Q.SCLEX_HTML, Qsci.QsciLexerHTML), 'css': (Q.SCLEX_CSS, Qsci.QsciLexerCSS), 'py': (Q.SCLEX_PYTHON, Qsci.QsciLexerPython), 'php': (Q.SCLEX_PHP, Qsci.QsciLexerHTML), 'inc': (Q.SCLEX_PHP, Qsci.QsciLexerHTML), 'js': (Q.SCLEX_CPP, Qsci.QsciLexerJavaScript), 'cpp': (Q.SCLEX_CPP, Qsci.QsciLexerCPP), 'h': (Q.SCLEX_CPP, Qsci.QsciLexerCPP), 'cxx': (Q.SCLEX_CPP, Qsci.QsciLexerCPP), 'hpp': (Q.SCLEX_CPP, Qsci.QsciLexerCPP), 'c': (Q.SCLEX_CPP, Qsci.QsciLexerCPP), 'hxx': (Q.SCLEX_CPP, Qsci.QsciLexerCPP), 'tpl': (Q.SCLEX_CPP, Qsci.QsciLexerCPP), 'xml': (Q.SCLEX_XML, Qsci.QsciLexerXML), } ... inside my document window class ... def addContentsDocument(self, contents, title): handler = self.makeScintilla() handler.title = title sci = handler.sci sci.append(contents) self.tabWidget.addTab(sci, title) self.tabWidget.setCurrentWidget(sci) self.applyLexer(sci, title) EventBus.bus.broadcast('command.done', {'text': 'Opened ' + title}) return handler def applyLexer(self, sci, title): (language, lexer) = language_and_lexer_from_title(title) if lexer: l = lexer() print("making lexer: " + str(l)) sci.setLexer(l) else: print("setting lexer by id: " + str(language)) sci.SendScintilla(Qsci.QsciScintillaBase.SCI_SETLEXER, language) linst = sci.lexer() print("lexer: " + str(linst)) def makeScintilla(self): sci = Qsci.QsciScintilla() sci.setUtf8(True) sci.setTabIndents(True) sci.setIndentationsUseTabs(False) sci.setIndentationWidth(4) sci.setMarginsFont(self.smallFont) sci.setMarginWidth(0, self.smallFontMetrics.width('00000')) sci.setFont(self.monoFont) sci.setAutoIndent(True) sci.setBraceMatching(Qsci.QsciScintilla.StrictBraceMatch) handler = SciHandler(sci) self.handlers[sci] = handler sci.setMarginLineNumbers(0, True) sci.setCaretLineVisible(True) sci.setCaretLineBackgroundColor(QtGui.QColor(prefs.get('color.editline'))) return handler Let's assume the rest of the application works, too (because it does :-)

  • PyQt threads and signals - how to properly retrieve values

    - by Cawas
    Using Python 2.5 and PyQt, I couldn't find any question this specific in Python, so sorry if I'm repeating the other Qt referenced questions below, but I couldn't easily understand that C code. I've got two classes, a GUI and a thread, and I'm trying to get return values from the thread. I've used the link in here as base to write my code, which is working just fine. To sum it up and illustrate the question in code here (I don't think this code will run on itself): class MainWindow (QtGui.QWidget): # this is just a reference and not really relevant to the question def __init__ (self, parent = None): QtGui.QWidget.__init__(self, parent) self.thread = Worker() # this does not begin a thread - look at "Worker.run" for mor details self.connect(self.thread, QtCore.SIGNAL('finished()'), self.unfreezeUi) self.connect(self.thread, QtCore.SIGNAL('terminated()'), self.unfreezeUi) self.connect(self.buttonDaemon, QtCore.SIGNAL('clicked()'), self.pressDaemon) # the problem begins below: I'm not using signals, or queue, or whatever, while I believe I should def pressDaemon (self): self.buttonDaemon.setEnabled(False) if self.thread.isDaemonRunning(): self.thread.setDaemonStopSignal(True) self.buttonDaemon.setText('Daemon - converts every %s sec'% args['daemonInterval']) else: self.buttonConvert.setEnabled(False) self.thread.startDaemon() self.buttonDaemon.setText('Stop Daemon') self.buttonDaemon.setEnabled(True) # this whole class is just another reference class Worker (QtCore.QThread): daemonIsRunning = False daemonStopSignal = False daemonCurrentDelay = 0 def isDaemonRunning (self): return self.daemonIsRunning def setDaemonStopSignal (self, bool): self.daemonStopSignal = bool def __init__ (self, parent = None): QtCore.QThread.__init__(self, parent) self.exiting = False self.thread_to_run = None # which def will be running def __del__ (self): self.exiting = True self.thread_to_run = None self.wait() def run (self): if self.thread_to_run != None: self.thread_to_run(mode='continue') def startDaemon (self, mode = 'run'): if mode == 'run': self.thread_to_run = self.startDaemon # I'd love to be able to just pass this as an argument on start() below return self.start() # this will begin the thread # this is where the thread actually begins self.daemonIsRunning = True self.daemonStopSignal = False sleepStep = 0.1 # don't know how to interrupt while sleeping - so the less sleepStep, the faster StopSignal will work # begins the daemon in an "infinite" loop while self.daemonStopSignal == False and not self.exiting: # here, do any kind of daemon service delay = 0 while self.daemonStopSignal == False and not self.exiting and delay < args['daemonInterval']: time.sleep(sleepStep) # delay is actually set by while, but this holds for N second delay += sleepStep # daemon stopped, reseting everything self.daemonIsRunning = False self.emit(QtCore.SIGNAL('terminated')) Tho it's quite big, I hope this is pretty clear. The main point is on def pressDaemon. Specifically all 3 self.thread calls. The last one, self.thread.startDaemon() is just fine, and exactly as the example. I doubt that represents any issue. The problem is being able to set the Daemon Stop Signal and retrieve the value if it's running. I'm not sure that it's possible to set a stop signal on QtCore.QtThread, because I've tried doing the same way and it didn't work. But I'm pretty sure it's not possible to retrieve a return result from the emit. So, there it is. I'm using direct calls to the thread class, and I'm almost positive that's not a good design and will probably fail when running under stress. I read about that queue, but I'm not sure it's the proper solution here, or if I should be using Qt at all, since this is Python. And just maybe there's nothing wrong with the way I'm doing.

  • How to update a QPixmap in a QGraphicsView with PyQt

    - by pops
    I am trying to paint on a QPixmap inside a QGraphicsView. The painting works fine, but the QGraphicsView doesn't update it. But the only solution I have found to update the display is to make a new instance (which is not a good solution). How do I just update it?

The user enters their email, then the text field is cleared and echo mode is set to Password mode. The text() function returns the email fine, but when I call text() after I have changed the echo mode, it returns 0. I've been pouring over the documentation looking for anything regarding the text() function and how it operates when Password mode is on, however I have not found anything. Does anybody know how this is done?

I have tried setting the message box as a modal one: (messagebox.setWindowModality(QtCore.Qt.WindoModal)) and setting message box, parent dialog window flags as sheet (parentDialog.setWindowFlags(QtCore.Qt.Sheet) messagebox.setWindowFlags(QtCore.Qt.Sheet)) But the above commands are not working to create a sheet instead of seperate dialog. Does anyone have an idea of how to solve?

  • QWebView not loading external resources

    - by Nick
    Hi. I'm working on a kiosk web browser using Qt and PyQt4. QWebView seems to work quite well except for one quirk. If a URL fails to load for any reason, I want to redirect the user to a custom error page. I've done this using the loadFinished() signal to check the result, and change the URL to the custom page if necessary using QWebView.load(). However, any page I attempt to load here fails to pull in external resources like CSS or images. Using QWebView.load() to set the initial page at startup seems to work fine, and clicking any link on the custom error page will result in the destination page loading fine. It's just the error page that doesn't work. I'm really not sure where to go next. I've included the source for an app that will replicate the problem below. It takes a URL as a command line argument - a valid URL will display correctly, a bad URL (eg. DNS resolution fails) will redirect to Google, but with the logo missing. import sys from PyQt4 import QtGui, QtCore, QtWebKit class MyWebView(QtWebKit.QWebView): def __init__(self, parent=None): QtWebKit.QWebView.__init__(self, parent) self.resize(800, 600) self.load(QtCore.QUrl(sys.argv[1])) self.connect(self, QtCore.SIGNAL('loadFinished(bool)'), self.checkLoadResult) def checkLoadResult(self, result): if (result == False): self.load(QtCore.QUrl('http://google.com')) app = QtGui.QApplication(sys.argv) main = MyWebView() main.show() sys.exit(app.exec_()) If anyone could offer some advice it would be greatly appreciated.

  • How to play an .mp3 using QBuffer with Phonon in a PyQt Qt environment

    - by thedax
    With the code I have right now I CAN play .mp3 data from files succesfully. However I need to play the same data using a QtCore.QBuffer (NOT from a file). When I use the example of the docs it errors an unexpected type of QBuffer! However...... that is what it SHOULD see, according to the docs. But............... it throws: TypeError: Phonon.MediaObject.setCurrentSource(Phonon.MediaSource): argument 1 has unexpected type 'QBuffer' The code I use is (1): someBuffer = QtCore.QBuffer() someBuffer.writeData(TrackData) mediaObject.setCurrentSource(someBuffer) I also tried (2): someBuffer = QtCore.QBuffer() mediaObject.setCurrentSource(someBuffer) someBuffer.writeData(TrackData) and (3): someBuffer = QtCore.QBuffer() someBuffer.writeData(TrackData) mediaObject.setCurrentSource(Phonon.MediaSource(someBuffer)) The last example (3) throws an different ERROR and wipes my Gui off screen ;-) ASSERT: "d-connected" in file /builddir/build/BUILD/phonon-4.5.1/phonon/streaminterface.cpp, line xxxx Notes: TrackData contains the mp3 data and IS PLAYING OK when I write it to a File and use that as a resource to mediaObject.setCurrentSource(Phonon.MediaSource())I also experimented with a QByteArray but that leads to the same "unexpected QBuffer" error. To be more precise everything I feed setCurrentSource is not accepted. Tried a string (errors an unexpected type of String), tried a QBuffer (errors an unexpected type of QBuffer), tried a QByteArray (errors an unexpected type of QByteArray). BTW: I run Qt, PyQt on Linux. Any ideas??

  • Qt - QWebView Problem

    - by user547057
    Hi, I have a PyQt gui script which consists of a QWebView widget. I'm trying to send a GET request, i.e go to a page, fill a form and hit click using the code at the bottom of this question. Since i'm dealing with the documentElement(a QWebElement) of the webview, I need to place all DOM actions in a separate function(which I have named fillForm) and connect the loadFinished() signal into the function. Without connecting the signal, the document will not have loaded and I won't be able to get the elements I want. I'm able to submit the form correctly and get the proper response from the webpage. The problem i'm having is that, the above leads to a sort of infinite loop. This is because the webpage gets reloaded each time a new page is loaded, so the form gets filled each and every single time without stopping. I'd like to know if there's some way of finding out whether the WebView's page has loaded fully, non-asynchronously or maybe pause execution of the script(without freezing the gui) until the whole document has loaded. I'm unable to come up with a satisfactory solution(my idea consisted of keeping a global variable to track clicks) to this problem. I would appreciate it if someone could help me out with a better way to tackle this. Thanks! Here's the code i'm using import sys from PyQt4.QtCore import * from PyQt4.QtGui import * from PyQt4.QtWebKit import * from PyQt4 import QtCore app = QApplication(sys.argv) web = QWebView() web.load(QUrl("http://mywebsite.com")) def fillForm(): doc = web.page().mainFrame().documentElement() searchform = doc.findFirst("input[type=text]") searchform.setAttribute("value", "hello") button = doc.findFirst("input[type=submit]") button.evaluateJavaScript("click()") QtCore.QObject.connect(web, QtCore.SIGNAL("loadFinished"), fillForm) web.show() sys.exit(app.exec_())

  • My QFileSystemModel doesn't work as expected in PyQt

    - by Skilldrick
    I'm learning the Qt Model/View architecture at the moment, and I've found something that doesn't work as I'd expect it to. I've got the following code (adapted from Qt Model Classes): from PyQt4 import QtCore, QtGui model = QtGui.QFileSystemModel() parentIndex = model.index(QtCore.QDir.currentPath()) print model.isDir(parentIndex) #prints True print model.data(parentIndex).toString() #prints name of current directory childIndex = model.index(0, 0, parentIndex) print model.data(childIndex).toString() rows = model.rowCount(parentIndex) print rows #prints 0 (even though the current directory has directory and file children) The question: Is this a problem with PyQt, have I just done something wrong, or am I completely misunderstanding QFileSystemModel? According to the documentation, model.rowCount(parentIndex) should return the number of children in the current directory. The QFileSystemModel docs say that it needs an instance of a Gui application, so I've also placed the above code in a QWidget as follows, but with the same result: import sys from PyQt4 import QtCore, QtGui class Widget(QtGui.QWidget): def __init__(self, parent=None): QtGui.QWidget.__init__(self, parent) model = QtGui.QFileSystemModel() parentIndex = model.index(QtCore.QDir.currentPath()) print model.isDir(parentIndex) print model.data(parentIndex).toString() childIndex = model.index(0, 0, parentIndex) print model.data(childIndex).toString() rows = model.rowCount(parentIndex) print rows def main(): app = QtGui.QApplication(sys.argv) widget = Widget() widget.show() sys.exit(app.exec_()) if __name__ == '__main__': main()

  • Tying PyQt4 QAction triggered() to local class callable doesn't seem to work. How to debug this?

    - by Jon Watte
    I create this object when I want to create a QAction. I then add this QAction to a menu: class ActionObject(object): def __init__(self, owner, command): action = QtGui.QAction(command.name, owner) self.action = action self.command = command action.setShortcut(command.shortcut) action.setStatusTip(command.name) QtCore.QObject.connect(action, QtCore.SIGNAL('triggered()'), self.triggered) def triggered(self): print("got triggered " + self.command.id + " " + repr(checked)) Unfortunately, when the menu item is selected, the 'triggered' function is not called. QtCore.QObject.connect() returns True. Nothing is printed on the console to indicate that anything is wrong, and no exception is thrown. How can I debug this? (or, what am I doing wrong?)
