  • Extend RedCloth via Redmine plugin?

    - by FLX
    Hello, I'm new to Ruby/Redmine/Redcloth but I'm trying to achieve the following: The default way to build a link in Textile is "foo":http://bar. However, 90% of the day I use Atlassian products, which use [foo|http://bar] as link markup. To keep everything a bit uniform I'd like to implement this in Redmine via a plugin. However, it appears that you can't change the macro syntax so instead I'll have to look into extending RedCloth to accept this form of inserting links. Does anyone know how I can achieve this? Thank you and merry christmas, Dennis

  • Shoes and Gems and how to get them working.

    - by Pselus
    I have seen this question asked all over the internet and answered in many different ways. None of them seem to be working for me. I am trying to get Gems to work in Shoes (specifically the gem Mechanize). Whenever I use the code: Shoes.setup do gem 'mechanize' end require 'mechanize' It gives me the popup that says it is installing native extensions and sits at that screen for 30 minutes and longer (I've only ever waited as long as 30 minutes). I have seen people say that you should be putting the .gem files in ~/.shoes/+gem/gem (on OS X) but that hasn't worked for me. Neither has putting the source code for the gem there. On another odd note, both the gems RedCloth and Nokogiri come with Shoes...but using the above code for them gets me No such file to load errors for both of them. Anyone have any expertise in this area and can help me out?

  • Why won't ruby recognize Haml under ubuntu64 while using jekyll static blog generator?

    - by oldmanjoyce
    I have been trying, quite unsuccessfully, to run henrik's fork of the jekyll static blog generator on Ubuntu 64-bit. I just can't seem to figure this out and I've tried a bunch of different things. Originally I posted this over at stackoverflow, but this is probably the better spot for it. The base stats of my machine: Ubuntu 9.04, 64 bit, ruby 1.8.7 (2008-08-11 patchlevel 72) [x86_64-linux], rubygems 1.3.1. When I attempt to build the site, this is what happens: $ jekyll --pygments Configuration from ./_config.yml Using Sass for CSS generation You must have the haml gem installed first Using rdiscount for Markdown Building site: . - ./_site /home/chris/.gem/gems/henrik-jekyll-0.5.2/bin/../lib/jekyll/core_ext.rb:27:in `method_missing': undefined method 'header' for #, page=# ..... cut ..... • Getting uninitialized constant error when trying to run tests

    - by Ethan
    I just updated all my gems and I'm finding that I'm getting errors when trying to run Test::Unit tests. I'm getting the error copied below. That comes from creating new, empty Rails project, scaffolding a simple model, and running rake test. Tried Googling "uninitialized constant" and TestResultFailureSupport. The only thing I found was this bug report from 2007. I'm using OS X. These are the gems that I updated right before the tests stopped working: $ sudo gem outdated Password: RedCloth (4.2.1 < 4.2.2) RubyInline (3.8.1 < 3.8.2) ZenTest (4.1.1 < 4.1.3) bluecloth (2.0.4 < 2.0.5) capistrano (2.5.5 < 2.5.8) haml (2.0.9 < 2.2.1) hoe (2.2.0 < 2.3.2) json (1.1.6 < 1.1.7) mocha (0.9.5 < 0.9.7) rest-client (1.0.2 < 1.0.3) thoughtbot-factory_girl (1.2.1 < 1.2.2) thoughtbot-shoulda (2.10.1 < 2.10.2) Has anyone else seen this issue? Any troubleshooting suggestions? UPDATE On a hunch I downgraded ZenTest from 4.1.3 back to 4.1.1 and now everything works again. Still curious to know if anyone else has seen this or has any interesting comments or insights. $ rake test (in /Users/me/foo) /usr/local/bin/ruby -I"lib:test" "/usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/rake-0.8.7/lib/rake/rake_test_loader.rb" "test/unit/helpers/users_helper_test.rb" "test/unit/user_test.rb" /usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activesupport-2.3.2/lib/active_support/dependencies.rb:105:in `const_missing': uninitialized constant Test::Unit::TestResult::TestResultFailureSupport (NameError) from /usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/test-unit-2.0.2/lib/test/unit/testresult.rb:28 from /usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/rubygems/custom_require.rb:31:in `gem_original_require' from /usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/rubygems/custom_require.rb:31:in `require' from /usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activesupport-2.3.2/lib/active_support/dependencies.rb:158:in `require' from /usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/test-unit-2.0.2/lib/test/unit/ui/testrunnermediator.rb:9 from /usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/rubygems/custom_require.rb:31:in `gem_original_require' from /usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/rubygems/custom_require.rb:31:in `require' from /usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activesupport-2.3.2/lib/active_support/dependencies.rb:158:in `require' ... 6 levels... from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/test/unit/autorunner.rb:214:in `run' from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/test/unit/autorunner.rb:12:in `run' from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/test/unit.rb:278 from /usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/rake-0.8.7/lib/rake/rake_test_loader.rb:5 /usr/local/bin/ruby -I"lib:test" "/usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/rake-0.8.7/lib/rake/rake_test_loader.rb" "test/functional/users_controller_test.rb"

  • Rails 3.0.3 and Polyglot Gem problem

    - by user557417
    Hello all. I hope you can help me. I had a rails app running locally, and also uploaded and running on Heroku. All was well. Last week, I started work again and ran into a snag. At the beginning of my day, I opened up Terminal and ran 'rails s' to start the local server. I received this error: doug-naegeles-macbook-pro-17:elig_check dougnaegele$ rails s /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/bundler-1.0.7/lib/bundler/resolver.rb:129:in resolve': Could not find gem 'polyglot', required by 'rails (= 3.0.3)', in any of the sources (Bundler::VersionConflict) from /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/bundler-1.0.7/lib/bundler/resolver.rb:127:incatch' from /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/bundler-1.0.7/lib/bundler/resolver.rb:127:in resolve' from /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/bundler-1.0.7/lib/bundler/definition.rb:151:inresolve' from /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/bundler-1.0.7/lib/bundler/definition.rb:90:in specs' from /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/bundler-1.0.7/lib/bundler/definition.rb:135:inspecs_for' from /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/bundler-1.0.7/lib/bundler/definition.rb:124:in requested_specs' from /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/bundler-1.0.7/lib/bundler/environment.rb:23:inrequested_specs' from /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/bundler-1.0.7/lib/bundler/runtime.rb:11:in setup' from /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/bundler-1.0.7/lib/bundler.rb:100:insetup' from /Users/dougnaegele/Sites/elig_check/config/boot.rb:8 from script/rails:5:in `require' from script/rails:5 When I run 'gem list'..i can see Polyglot listed: doug-naegeles-macbook-pro-17:elig_check dougnaegele$ gem list * LOCAL GEMS * abstract (1.0.0) actionmailer (3.0.3, 2.3.5, 2.2.2, 1.3.6) actionpack (3.0.3, 2.3.5, 2.2.2, 1.13.6) actionwebservice (1.2.6) activemodel (3.0.3) activerecord (3.0.3, 2.3.5, 2.2.2, 1.15.6) activeresource (3.0.3, 2.3.5, 2.2.2) activesupport (3.0.3, 2.3.5, 2.2.2, 1.4.4) acts_as_ferret (0.5.2, 0.4.3) arel (2.0.6, 2.0.4) authlogic (2.1.6) blythedunham-sms_on_rails (0.1.0) builder (3.0.0, 2.1.2) bundler (1.0.7) capistrano (2.5.19, 2.5.2) cgi_multipart_eof_fix (2.5.0) color (1.4.1) configuration (1.2.0) crack (0.1.8) daemons (1.1.0, 1.0.10) derailed-ziya (2.1.5) dnssd (1.4, 0.6.0) erubis (2.6.6) fastthread (1.0.7, 1.0.1) fcgi (0.8.8, 0.8.7) ferret (0.11.6) gem_plugin (0.2.3) googlecharts (1.6.0) heroku (1.14.10, 1.14.3) highline (1.6.1, 1.5.0) hpricot (0.8.3, 0.6.164) httparty (0.6.1) i18n (0.5.0, 0.4.2) jk-ferret (0.11.8.2) json_pure (1.4.6) launchy (0.3.7) libxml-ruby (1.1.4, 1.1.2) little-plugger (1.1.2) logging (1.4.3) mail (2.2.12, 2.2.10) mattetti-googlecharts (1.4.0) mime-types (1.16) mongrel (1.1.5) mysql (2.8.1) needle (1.3.0) net-scp (1.0.4, 1.0.1) net-sftp (2.0.5, 2.0.1, 1.1.1) net-ssh (2.0.23, 2.0.4, 1.1.4) net-ssh-gateway (1.0.1, 1.0.0) nifty-generators (0.4.2) polyglot (0.3.1) rack (1.2.1, 1.0.1) rack-mount (0.6.13) rack-test (0.5.6) rails (3.0.3, 2.3.5, 2.2.2, 1.2.6) railties (3.0.3) rake (0.8.7, 0.8.3) RedCloth (4.2.3, 4.1.1) rest-client (1.6.1) ruby-openid (2.1.8, 2.1.2) ruby-yadis (0.3.4) rubygems-update (1.3.7, 1.3.6) rubynode (0.1.5) sequel (3.18.0, 3.17.0) sinatra (1.1.0, 1.0) sqlite3-ruby (1.3.2, 1.2.5, 1.2.4) static_record_cache (0.2.0) taps (0.3.14) termios (0.9.4) thor (0.14.6) tilt (1.1) treetop (1.4.9) twilio (2.9.0) twiliolib (2.0.7) tzinfo (0.3.23) xmpp4r (0.5, 0.4) When I run 'gem sources' I get this: doug-naegeles-macbook-pro-17:elig_check dougnaegele$ gem sources * CURRENT SOURCES * rubygems.org/ gems.github.com gems.github.com gems.github.com/ gems.github.com gems.rubyforge.org Which looks right -- that's where Polyglot lives. I have apps running on 2.3.5 that have not been refactored for rails 3.0) Thanks in advance! Doug

  • Ruby on Rail using MYSQL database

    - by Joseph Misiti
    Hey guys, New to rails, trying to figure out something simple. Seems as though I cannot migrate a very simple mysql database using "rake db:migrate" command. Here is the issue: I know rails defaults to sqllite right now, but I need to use mysql for a series of reasons. Use the following commands rails -d mysql MyMoviesSQL cd MyMoviesSQL script/generate scaffold Movies title:string rating:integer rake db:migrate never get past here because i see the following error: in /Users/user/websites/MyMovieSQL) rake aborted!
