  • How can I combine 30,000 images into a timelapse movie?

    I have taken 30,000 still images that I want to combine into a timelapse movie. I have tried QuickTime Pro, TimeLapse 3, and Windows Movie Maker, but with such a huge amount of images, each of the programs fail (I tried SUPER ©, but couldn't get it to work either...?). It seems that all of these programs crash after a few thousand pictures. The images I have are all in .JPG format, at a resolution of 1280x800, and I'm looking for a program that can put these images into a timelapse movie in some kind of lossless format (raw/uncompressed AVI would be fine) for further editing. Does anyone have any ideas, or has anyone tried anything like this with a similar number of pictures?

  • create video from jpg images using ffmpeg

    I want to make short timelapse video using ffmpeg under ubuntu 12.04 LTS. I have a folder containing all images with names DSC_0000.jpg DSC_0001.jpg and so on. I found this question ffmpeg: create a video from images and I try to run the same command as mentioned there: ffmpeg -i DSC_%d.jpg -vcodec mpeg4 timelapse.avi and it fails with DSC_%d.jpg: No such file or directory I've also tried ffmpeg -i DSC_%04d.jpg -vcodec mpeg4 timelapse.avi and it fails with the same error And also for some reason my ffmpeg does not understand option -start_number, if I run ffmpeg -start_number 0 -i DSC_%d.jpg -vcodec mpeg4 timelapse.avi I get this error: Unrecognized option 'start_number' Failed to set value '0' for option 'start_number' I would appreciate any help

  • FFmpeg creates emtpy (black) frames

    I have a set of images from a timelapse shot (172 JPG files) that I want to convert into a movie. I tried several parameters with FFmpeg, but all I get is a video with black frames (though it has the expected length). ffmpeg -f image2 -vcodec mjpeg -y -i img_%03d.jpg timelapse2.mpg The command above creates this video: http://sdm-net.org/data/timelapse2.mpg What I'm expecting is something like this (created with Time Lapse Assembler.app): https://vimeo.com/39038362 - This is my fallback option, but I'd really like to create timelapse movies from a script. I'm on OSX Lion (10.7.3) with FFmpeg version (0.10) installed via Homebrew. I also tried to find a proper version of mencoder for OSX, but this doesn't seem to be an easy task. Also, ImageMagick's convert doesn't seem to work nicely, it creates really bad output and it seems there's not much I can do about it...   • Time-lapse software for Windows 7

    Timershot was an excellent part of the PowerToys for Windows XP collection. But alas, it doesn't appear to work on Windows 7, even when run in XP SP3 compatibility mode. Can anyone recommend a good replacement? (...Preferably one that is compatible with the webcam on an Eee PC 1005HA. But I'll take whatever I can get.)

  • What kind of time lapse image stitching software is out there?

    I took a bunch of digital images(jpg format) of a sunrise that I want to make into a time lapse movie. The only recommendation I've seen was some iStopMotion for Mac, but I am running Windows. I would prefer the software to take into account the metadata in the image that indicates what time the image was taken when determining how long to display each frame, as they won't be accurately consistent in their temporal spacing. Onion skinning would be a cool feature to. Please, one software suggestion per answer to allow the voting system to do it's job. Thanks in advance.

    Hello everybody, Once again I find myself stuck by something that I just don't understand. Any help would be appreciated. I'm working on a modal window, you click something and the background is masked and a modal window shows some content. I have a div with "display:none" and "opacity:0", and when the user triggers the modal, this div will overlay everything and have certain transparency to it. In my mind, what I need to do is: Set the opacity Perform a "for" loop that will check if the opacity is less than the desired value. Inside this loop, perform a "setInterval" to gradually increment the value of the opacity until it reaches the desired value. When the desired value has been reached, perform an "if" statement to "clearInterval".
