    - by Surya sasidhar
hi, in my application i am displaying a image (image size is 90px width,90px height) and below that i displaying title of the image in data list control (horizontal display). i used table (tags) in source code. the image and title will display dynamically from database. my problem is when title is too long it is disturbing my design, when title is too long it should come down, the title should same size as the picture if it is too long it come down in second line. for example the below is a image and below that image title -------------- | | | | | | | | | | |_____________| surya sasidhar rao the above image title is too long. the letters "rao" should come in second line. -------------- | | | | | | | | | | |_____________| surya sasidhar rao this is the desing i want. how can i get it. this is my source code ' CommandName="Play" CommandArgument='<%#Eval("VideoName")+"|"+Eval("videoid")+","+Eval("username")%' Width ="90px" Height ="90px" / ' CommandName="title" CommandArgument='<%#Eval("VideoName")+"|"+Eval("videoid")+","+Eval("username")%' ' '

  • java.lang.ClassCastException: org.apache.xerces.jaxp.DocumentBuilderFactoryImpl while starting the w

    - by venkat
Hi, As part of our application we are using apache's xerces jaxp parser. When we deploy the application on weblogic9.2, we are getting the following error. org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'org.apache.cxf.wsdl.WSDLManager' defined in class path resource [META-INF/cxf/cxf.xml]: Instantiation of bean failed; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.BeanInstantiationException: Could not instantiate bean class [org.apache.cxf.wsdl11.WSDLManagerImpl]: Constructor threw exception; nested exception is java.lang.ClassCastException: org.apache.xerces.jaxp.DocumentBuilderFactoryImpl As per our analysis, i)The weblogic is trying to to load its own DocumentBuilderFactoryImpl which is present in weblogic.jar instead of apache's xerces. We tried the following to force the weblogic to load DocumentBuilderFactoryImpl from xerces i)we have added the following tag into weblogic.xml true ii)we have put latest versions of xalan in jre/lib/endorced folder. this didnt resolve our problem. ii) we have added entries in weblogic-application.xml webapp.encoding.default UTF-8 javax.jws. org.apache.xerces. org.apache.xerces.jaxp.* ii)Added the following entry in weblogic-application.xml <parser-factory> <saxparser-factory>org.apache.xerces.jaxp.SAXParserFactoryImpl</saxparser-factory> <document-builder-factory>org.apache.xerces.jaxp.DocumentBuilderFactoryImpl </document-builder-factory> org.apache.xalan.processor.TransformerFactoryImpl iii)Added jaxp.properties to load DocumentBuilderFactoryImpl from xerces to the jre/lib and started the server. In this case, the weblogic didnt start. iv)Then we started the server first and then copied the jaxp.properties file during the run time when server starts. But no success None of the above worked for us. Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Venkat.

  • Practical Approaches to increasing Virtualization Density-Part 1

    - by Girish Venkat
Happy New year everyone!. Let me kick start the year off by talking about Virtualization density.  What is it?The number of virtual servers that a physical server can support and it's increase from the prior physical infrastructure as a percentage. Why is it important? This is important because the density should be indicative of how well the server is getting consumed? So what is wrong ?Virtualization density fails to convey the "Real usage" of a server.  Most of the hypervisor based O/S Virtualization  evangelists take pride in the fact that they are now running a Virtual Server farm of X machines compared to a Physical server farm of Y (with Y less than X obviously). The real question is - has your utilization of the server really increased or not.  In an internal study that was conducted by one of the top financial institution - the utilization of servers only went up by 15% from 30 to 45. So, this really means that just by increasing virtualization density one will not be achieving the goal of using up the servers in their server farm better.  I will write about what the possible approaches are to increase virtualization density in the next entry.

  • SOA 10g Developing a Simple Hello World Process

    - by [email protected]
Softwares & Hardware Needed Intel Pentium D CPU 3 GHz, 2 GB RAM, Windows XP System ( Thats what i am using ) You could as well use Linux , but please choose High End RAM 10G SOA Suite from Oracle(TM) , Read Installation documents at www.Oracle.com J Developer 10.1.3.3 Official Documents at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/bpel/index.html java -version Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_06-b05, mixed mode)BPEL Introduction - Developing a Simple Hello World Process  Synchronous BPEL Process      This Exercise focuses on developing a Synchronous Process, which mean you give input to the BPEL Process you get output immediately no waiting at all. The Objective of this exercise is to give input as name and it greets with Hello Appended by that name example, if I give input as "James" the BPEL process returns "Hello James". 1. Open the Oracle JDeveloper click on File -> New Application give the name "JamesApp" you can give your own name if it pleases you. Select the folder where you want to place the application. Click "OK" 2. Right Click on the "JamesApp" in the Application Navigator, Select New Menu. 3. Select "Projects" under "General" and "BPEL Process Project", click "OK" these steps remain same for all BPEL Projects 4. Project Setting Wizard Appears, Give the "Process Name" as "MyBPELProc" and Namespace as http://xmlns.james.com/ MyBPELProc, Select Template as "Synchronous BPEL Process click "Next" 5. Accept the input and output schema names as it is, click "Finish" 6. You would see the BPEL Process Designer, some of the folders such as Integration content and Resources are created and few more files 7. Assign Activity : Allows Assigning values to variables or copying values of one variable to another and also do some string manipulation or mathematical operations In the component palette at extreme right, select Process Activities from the drop down, and drag and drop "Assign" between "receive Input" and "replyOutput" 8. You can right click and edit the Assign activity and give any suitable name "AssignHello", 9. Select "Copy Operation" Tab create "Copy Operation" 10. In the From variables click on expression builder, select input under "input variable", Click on insert into expression bar, complete the concat syntax, Note to use "Ctrl+space bar" inside expression window to Auto Populate the expression as shown in the figure below. What we are actually doing here is concatenating the String "Hello ", with the variable value received through the variable named "input" 11. Observe that once an expression is completed the "To Variable" is assigned to a variable by name "result" 12. Finally the copy variable looks as below 13. It's the time to deploy, start the SOA Suite 14. Establish connection to the Server from JDeveloper, this can be done adding a New Application Server under Connection, give the server name, username and password and test connection. 15. Deploy the "MyBPELProc" to the "default domain" 16. http://localhost:8080/ allows connecting to SOA Suite web portal, click on "BPEL Control" , login with the username "oc4jadmin" password what ever you gave during installation 17. "MyBPELProc" is visisble under "Deployed BPEL Processes" in the "Dashboard" Tab, click on the it 18. Initiate tab open to accept input, enter data such as input is "James" click on "Post XML Button" 19. Click on Visual Flow 20. Click on receive Input , it shows "James" as input received 21. Click on reply Output, it shows "Hello James" so the BPEL process is successfully executed. 22. It may be worth seeing all the instance created everytime a BPEL process is executed by giving some inputs. Purge All button allows to delete all the unwanted previous instances of BPEL process, dont worry it wont delete the BPEL process itself :-) 23. It may also be some importance to understand the XSD File which holds input & output variable names & data types. 24. You could drag n drop variables as elements over sequence at the designer or directly edit the XML Source file.

  • Java ThreadPoolExecutor getting stuck while using ArrayBlockingQueue

    - by Ravi Rao
Hi, I'm working on some application and using ThreadPoolExecutor for handling various tasks. ThreadPoolExecutor is getting stuck after some duration. To simulate this in a simpler environment, I've written a simple code where I'm able to simulate the issue. import java.util.concurrent.ArrayBlockingQueue; import java.util.concurrent.RejectedExecutionHandler; import java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor; import java.util.concurrent.TimeUnit; public class MyThreadPoolExecutor { private int poolSize = 10; private int maxPoolSize = 50; private long keepAliveTime = 10; private ThreadPoolExecutor threadPool = null; private final ArrayBlockingQueue&lt;Runnable&gt; queue = new ArrayBlockingQueue&lt;Runnable&gt;( 100000); public MyThreadPoolExecutor() { threadPool = new ThreadPoolExecutor(poolSize, maxPoolSize, keepAliveTime, TimeUnit.SECONDS, queue); threadPool.setRejectedExecutionHandler(new RejectedExecutionHandler() { @Override public void rejectedExecution(Runnable runnable, ThreadPoolExecutor threadPoolExecutor) { System.out .println(&quot;Execution rejected. Please try restarting the application.&quot;); } }); } public void runTask(Runnable task) { threadPool.execute(task); } public void shutDown() { threadPool.shutdownNow(); } public ThreadPoolExecutor getThreadPool() { return threadPool; } public void setThreadPool(ThreadPoolExecutor threadPool) { this.threadPool = threadPool; } public static void main(String[] args) { MyThreadPoolExecutor mtpe = new MyThreadPoolExecutor(); for (int i = 0; i &lt; 1000; i++) { final int j = i; mtpe.runTask(new Runnable() { @Override public void run() { System.out.println(j); } }); } } } Try executing this code a few times. It normally print outs the number on console and when all threads end, it exists. But at times, it finished all task and then is not getting terminated. The thread dump is as follows: MyThreadPoolExecutor [Java Application] MyThreadPoolExecutor at localhost:2619 (Suspended) Daemon System Thread [Attach Listener] (Suspended) Daemon System Thread [Signal Dispatcher] (Suspended) Daemon System Thread [Finalizer] (Suspended) Object.wait(long) line: not available [native method] ReferenceQueue&lt;T&gt;.remove(long) line: not available ReferenceQueue&lt;T&gt;.remove() line: not available Finalizer$FinalizerThread.run() line: not available Daemon System Thread [Reference Handler] (Suspended) Object.wait(long) line: not available [native method] Reference$Lock(Object).wait() line: 485 Reference$ReferenceHandler.run() line: not available Thread [pool-1-thread-1] (Suspended) Unsafe.park(boolean, long) line: not available [native method] LockSupport.park(Object) line: not available AbstractQueuedSynchronizer$ConditionObject.await() line: not available ArrayBlockingQueue&lt;E&gt;.take() line: not available ThreadPoolExecutor.getTask() line: not available ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run() line: not available Thread.run() line: not available Thread [pool-1-thread-2] (Suspended) Unsafe.park(boolean, long) line: not available [native method] LockSupport.park(Object) line: not available AbstractQueuedSynchronizer$ConditionObject.await() line: not available ArrayBlockingQueue&lt;E&gt;.take() line: not available ThreadPoolExecutor.getTask() line: not available ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run() line: not available Thread.run() line: not available Thread [pool-1-thread-3] (Suspended) Unsafe.park(boolean, long) line: not available [native method] LockSupport.park(Object) line: not available AbstractQueuedSynchronizer$ConditionObject.await() line: not available ArrayBlockingQueue&lt;E&gt;.take() line: not available ThreadPoolExecutor.getTask() line: not available ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run() line: not available Thread.run() line: not available Thread [pool-1-thread-4] (Suspended) Unsafe.park(boolean, long) line: not available [native method] LockSupport.park(Object) line: not available AbstractQueuedSynchronizer$ConditionObject.await() line: not available ArrayBlockingQueue&lt;E&gt;.take() line: not available ThreadPoolExecutor.getTask() line: not available ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run() line: not available Thread.run() line: not available Thread [pool-1-thread-6] (Suspended) Unsafe.park(boolean, long) line: not available [native method] LockSupport.park(Object) line: not available AbstractQueuedSynchronizer$ConditionObject.await() line: not available ArrayBlockingQueue&lt;E&gt;.take() line: not available ThreadPoolExecutor.getTask() line: not available ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run() line: not available Thread.run() line: not available Thread [pool-1-thread-8] (Suspended) Unsafe.park(boolean, long) line: not available [native method] LockSupport.park(Object) line: not available AbstractQueuedSynchronizer$ConditionObject.await() line: not available ArrayBlockingQueue&lt;E&gt;.take() line: not available ThreadPoolExecutor.getTask() line: not available ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run() line: not available Thread.run() line: not available Thread [pool-1-thread-5] (Suspended) Unsafe.park(boolean, long) line: not available [native method] LockSupport.park(Object) line: not available AbstractQueuedSynchronizer$ConditionObject.await() line: not available ArrayBlockingQueue&lt;E&gt;.take() line: not available ThreadPoolExecutor.getTask() line: not available ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run() line: not available Thread.run() line: not available Thread [pool-1-thread-10] (Suspended) Unsafe.park(boolean, long) line: not available [native method] LockSupport.park(Object) line: not available AbstractQueuedSynchronizer$ConditionObject.await() line: not available ArrayBlockingQueue&lt;E&gt;.take() line: not available ThreadPoolExecutor.getTask() line: not available ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run() line: not available Thread.run() line: not available Thread [pool-1-thread-9] (Suspended) Unsafe.park(boolean, long) line: not available [native method] LockSupport.park(Object) line: not available AbstractQueuedSynchronizer$ConditionObject.await() line: not available ArrayBlockingQueue&lt;E&gt;.take() line: not available ThreadPoolExecutor.getTask() line: not available ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run() line: not available Thread.run() line: not available Thread [pool-1-thread-7] (Suspended) Unsafe.park(boolean, long) line: not available [native method] LockSupport.park(Object) line: not available AbstractQueuedSynchronizer$ConditionObject.await() line: not available ArrayBlockingQueue&lt;E&gt;.take() line: not available ThreadPoolExecutor.getTask() line: not available ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run() line: not available Thread.run() line: not available Thread [DestroyJavaVM] (Suspended) C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_07\bin\javaw.exe (Jun 17, 2010 10:42:33 AM) In my actual application,ThreadPoolExecutor threads go in this state and then it stops responding. • Java website on Tomcat PHP website on Apache - how to get PHP web pages into Java web pages?

    - by Venkat
We have a Java web application deployed on Tomcat. We also setup Apache and mod_proxy_ajp to route web requests (port 80/443) to Tomcat. We would like to deploy a PHP application on the same Apache server - probably under a subdirectory (/var/www/ourapp). Now we would like to access & display web pages from PHP application within web pages generated by Java application. Planning to implement Single Sign-on as well. Example: Web page from java has (JQuery Tabs) and we like to display the PHP web page within a tab while all other HTML comes from java application. Can you please give a overall picture of how to proceed about this? Mainly 1. how we should install/setup our PHP application on same Apache server which is used to route web requests to Tomcat? i.e. either setup sub domain or install in sub directory 2. How to bring PHP pages into present web pages (generated by java). Can we use AJAX requests or should go for Java PHP Bridge/ Querces such applications? Thank you for your time in advance. Regards.

  • TFS2010 Build Controllers

    - by Kabir Rao
As I know, In TFS2010, One Build Controller serves One Project Collection. And, ideally one build server should have One build controller into it. However, as per the link below- http://marknic.com/2010/05/14/MultipleTFS2010BuildControllersOnASingleBuildBox.aspx we can install mutiple build controller in a single build box. Can two or more build controller can run at a same time. Because the link suggests that, we need to switch between controllers .... Is it that, we can use one controller at a time.
