• git post-receive hook never executes

  For some reason my post-received hook never executes. It's a simple two liner diagnostic script: echo "test" && touch /tmp/test. When I do git push origin master nothing happens. Does any-one know what am I doing wrong?

  From the post-receive file: # This script is run after receive-pack has accepted a pack and the # repository has been updated. It is passed arguments in through stdin # in the form # <oldrev> <newrev> <refname> # For example: # aa453216d1b3e49e7f6f98441fa56946ddcd6a20 68f7abf4e6f922807889f52bc043ecd31b79f814 refs/heads/master # But when I test it with echo "$1 $2 $3", I get a blank line only. Does any-one know why?

• delete everything but one directory

  I've got a /tmp/test directory. In it I've got a mixture of files and directories. One of those directories is /tmp/test/to_be_kept. Now I'd like to know how do I delete all the files and directories apart from /tmp/test/to_be_kept and everything what's in it? Thanks
