Volume Shadow Copy not starting

Hi

We are running a Windows 2008 Small Business Server with Symantec Backup Exec.

Last night the back up failed due to the Volume Shadow Copy service being unable to start. When I try to manually start it I get the following error "windows could not start the volume shadow copy on local computer"

Has anybody any suggestions other than rebooting the server?
