I like to create a pair of virtual serial ports that act as if they had a null modem cable between them.

I would like to read data coming and Arduino on a serial port on intervals. So essentially something like
Take a reading
Wait
Take a reading

Take ...
etc.
The problem I am facing is that the port will buffer its information so as soon as I call a wait function the data on the serial port…

I have an old madCatz racing wheel for the playstation 2. The gas and brake pedals are connected to the wheel by a serial port. I just bought a usb racing wheel for the PC but it lacks pedals so I wanted to see if I could get these old madCatz working.
