Hi,
I just bought a new compaq 610 laptop and the fan seems to be constantly on. I updated the bios and am using their recommended power settings. Am I missing something? Is there anything I can do to fix it?

My Compaq Presario CQ42 laptop battery is not working well with Ubuntu 12.04. But there is no problem in Ubuntu 10.04. Sometimes it shows percentage, sometimes remaining time, but charge reduces suddenly if I close the lid.

I seem to be having some problem with suspend mode. Every time I try to suspend my laptop, it just locks the screen. Or maybe it successfully suspends just to resume only an instant after. What could cause such a behaviour?
