Is there a way to customize/manage the tab lenght in sticky notes in gnome-linux. Presently the size of tab is 8 spaces, can i change it to say 2,4 or so?

Got a win7 computer for xmas and like the Sticky Notes
But twice now, after running an automatic update, the sticky notes disappeared

Hi guys,
i like the post it sidebar app in windows 7, but it offers almost no features and so I'm looking for an alternative.
Some of this features would be nice:
- easy font formatting
- better resizeable
- an simple alert function
It should be small and simple to use, and not bloated with tons…

I love Windows 7's sticky notes, it really helps. Here's the issue though: I dual boot Windows 7 and Fedora Linux. Whichever OS I'm in is random, depending on what I'm wanting to do at the time. Therefore I can't rely on just keeping the notes in my "primary" OS and referencing it when needed

I have researched the solution...
gconftool-2 --type string --set /apps/gnome-power-manager/buttons/lid_ac "nothing"
does not fix it. I have two external monitors and when I close my lid the settings are reset and the laptop's monitor is set to the default.
